I will drive 45 minutes just to get the chicken Parmesan grinder they serve here. It reminds me of Home so much. Even comes with the New York attitude from the staff which is really fun. WOW, can you rate negative stars for this place? I should have read the reviews before going there. I was craving for a slice of pizza so I stop by the place. I go in and the place looks like shi!. My family and I love pizza and gave this place a shot. It was phenomenal and brought us back again and again. But what we realized is that only certain people can actually make a decent pizza there. We have had burnt pizza, salty pizza, soupy pizza, and perfect pizza. The fact that we never knew what quality pie we were going to get took this place off our list of where we will spend our money. I have been debating writing this review for a couple of months. I love writing reviews that promote amazing places and if I have a midiocre experience I waive it off and don't bother. This is 1 of 2 reviews I specifically decided to write because it was needed. I didn't expect much from a place as small and nondescript as this, but what I did expect was the common decency to acknowledge my pressence within the first, oh, 20 FULL MINUTES I stood in front of the menu while you spoke in your native tongue on the phone while making eye contact with me. At that point I just wanted to know how LONG it would be before you GOT off the phone and actually said "Can I help you?". Apparently that was too much to ask, until a man came in and walked behind the counter, then the conversation the woman was having was wrapped up and the woman asked if he could help us, with an annoyed tone. I asked for a slice of pizza and she informed me that after 12 they don't do slices, so I said I'd take a Speghetti plate. She said okay and rang me up, then started talking in the preferred language to the man. Neither of them were even remotely preparing food at any point on ay level. I thought that maybe the food cooked itself. FINALLY after a lengthy conversation and 45 minutes later the man retires to the kitchen then I hear pots n pans banging, soon after he surfaces with some speghetti that looks like hell. The sauce is watery and more like a watercolor portrait of speghetti sauce, the noodles are larger than life and the only redeeming quality was the italian sausage, which seemed it MAY be hand made or at least was tastey. At this point we are late for our appointment NEXT DOOR, because it took so long to even GET the food and I asked for a to go box, which was met with the man raising his VOICE and his HANDS yelling "WHAT? WHATSA WRONG WITH IT?!", all offended. I explained that nothing was wrong with it but I had to go, so he takes the plate and as sluggish as possible puts the food in a box. This was Italian lunchroom food, American Style. I had high hopes from a place with such a mom and pop feel and was grossly overestimating it. I didn't pay $8+tip for speghetti, I paid that to see how far south my experience could go, I got my money's worth. We were the ONLY customers and I just can't believe such a small place would be so horrible in the customer service area. Bottom line is, that day, that meal, those people did NOT give a care to put in effort or whether they made a buck and seemed downright annoyed to have to bother with customers at all. Then to act offended at the potential of your meal not being well received just blows my mind. read more

Then after seeing the staff just standing around talking by the kitchen, knowing I was there was a bad sign. Then someone came to ask me " wa-da-uu want?" (unless it was from punk teenage kids who hated their job!) Don't be fooled This isn't Authentic NY Pizza, The crust is way too puffy, chewy and thick to be NY style pizza. This pizza tastes like domino's pizza chain. The cheese & meats are low quality. Basically The Pizza Sucks! Save your money and go elsewhere...plus you don't have to put up with a crappy attitude!! I know good folks from Carl's, Gaetono's (Used to be ran by the Mob!) and Patsy's in Denver, their families are from Brooklyn and have established great Pizzerias and Italian Food - they have great attitudes and make you feel at home. Don't remember where I read the review of this place (I think it was on a pizza blog site) but they made it sound like a must try kind of place. We did and it was a good to great pizzeria. This is a traditional New York style pizza with more of a crispy than chewy crust. Family type restaurant with very reasonable prices. Sauce isn't overpowering, I'm not sure of the type of mozzarella (the people I was with insisted on toppings) but I think it was regular hard shredded (not fresh sliced). The four stars might be a little high but , it's pizza. What can I say. I eat Famous, Abo's, Carl's, Edgewater, Parisi's,, etc, etc, etc, and on and on. Love the stuff. read more

I just moved from Brooklyn about 2 weeks ago, and this is the first pizza I've had in about 2 months (Bed-Stuy has the worst pizza and Chinese in all of Brooklyn, sadly). Hate to break it to you, but it's not quite as good as a $2 slice from the heart of Brooklyn. I think pizza and bagels have that in common - you need that special NY water! There were two waitresses, but I don't think the girl we had was in the family, or even out of high school. She saw us standing where it says to wait, and she just kept walking past, trying not to look at us. I began to be a little pissed off, and I can tell you that isn't a "New York attitude", that's a "I don't give a shit about my job attitude". When we actually sat down, she came over, acted surprised, and went to get us menus. I like plain cheese pizza, so we ordered a pie - not quite as quick as NY either, but it was pretty busy. I'm giving them an extra star because I'm in a good mood, I was hungry, and it wasn't Pizza Hut. They told me they are nominated for Best Pizza in Colorado, but I hope there are a few other places that are as good in my general area... read more

Rude owner. I was going to pay a pizza with a credit card and he was upset because they have a minimum of $15 (or $20... I can't remember). So I ended buying a desert just to be able to pay with my credit card and calm the owner. I tried to be friendly but the atmosphere in the restaurant was very tense as described by others. Been here a few times before and the pizza was good but the atmosphere and service left a lot to be desired. Visited Saturday around 5:30 pm and the restaurant was not crowded at all. Owner scowled at us as we asked to be seated in the rear "dining room" instead of the tables in front near the counter. Service was rushed to the point of rudeness. We were asked about dessert just minutes after our pizza arrived, and a young waiter asked to box up the leftovers when we had three slices remaining on the serving tray. Worst of all the pizza was greasy and the green peppers were stale and tasteless. We won't go back; we don't intend to spend good money on mediocre pizza in an unfriendly setting. I love this place. Everytime I go back to Broomfield, I make sure I eat at the Original Pizza place. It is a hole in the wall. Not much to look at. I don't go for the atmosphere or the wine. I go for the great pasta dishes. The calazones are good too. I LOVE the eggplant parmigiana. It is cheesy and lots of sauce. The best eggplant parmigiana I have ever had. Have tried going twice, making a special trip. Even though they advertise slices they said that they didn't have slices after a certain time as if I was supposed to know and the next the door was open and the person there said it was closed even though you could still walk inside. The best pizza in this area by far! I think Ralphie makes them the best. The crust is crispy and chewy. The sauce is not that horrible thick dark red sauce and it has just the right amount of cheese. This is in the top five best pizzas I've ever had in my life. That includes being in Italy and New York. Every ingredient is absolutely fresh. The crust is NY style but not too thin, not too thick, really it is just right! The wait isn't bad at all, your standard pizza wait, even when they are busy. I recommend the sausage with mushroom. The flavors just melt together in your mouth!! It's family owned by this awesome Italian family, you feel like you're in their kitchen when you are there! It's fun and feisty and they love to entertain, especially children! There is an older guy, white hair, black mustache, he's probably the head honcho-who will toss the pizza dough all around and do tricks in the air with it to make children smile and laugh, it's ADORABLE!! It made me smile and laugh!! And then one time he asks us if we want to pay twice, we say No? And he says the classic "ThenGETOUTAHERE!" Line and we fell in love instantly and tell everyone the story all the time!! It was hilarious!! There is one waiter there, white male, early 20's, that needs to learn better customer service skills. The owner certainly didn't attend charm school. If you can get past his guffness, the food has always been very good and consistent. The eggplant is very saucy, cheesy and tangy. My wife always gets the manicotti and is never disappointed. Pizza is probably not going to win awards in NY, but here in Broomfield, it's pretty darn good. The atmosphere is varied depending on where you sit. The dining room in the back can be quiet, quaint and cozy. The front area has a Donkey Kong old style video game, and is usually loud and hectic. A fair chance you'll see and hear the owners grandkids running around. In sum, it's very family run, family feeling, usually good food, a little rough around the edges at times, and would have gotten 4 stars from me if the owner would embrace the power of please and thank you. read more

He told me he didn't know anything about it and that I needed to read the coupon to him! He then proceeded to tell us to "Si' down and the waitress will tell you about it!" Not Original Pizza! They're as close to the real deal as I've found outside of the tri-state area.
