Taco Pete I love the support our local businesses. Also I had been traveling and I had a hugh craving for Mexican food. I don't really eat Mexican foot outside of Cali I am spoiled. So I drove down, I called them at 7.30 for phone order I know they close at like 8. And I was told they don't take phone orders that close to close I get it fair enough. I get there go to corner to check out "secret menu" and its torn down. I ask about knowbody knows about it. So order no "Secret Menu" and no brisket tocos overall average food and service I am just glad they had Turkey tacos and also ordered a burrito suppreme which hit the spot. Service warmed up a little as I spoke to her so I will give 3.5.

The burger they sold me with no meat and act as if it ok.

I placed an order on the Too Good Too Go app for $6.99, I was supposed to receive $18 worth of food. I received a bun with lettuce -No meat at all! Luckily I checked my order in the car because the bag was awfully light. I went back inside to speak to the lady that handed me the bag, she said they make the food and she just hands it out. I asked for the manager she left, came back and said the manager said request a refund. I asked for the manager again. He came out and again said to request a refund in the app. I was trying to figure it out and ask him if he's seen someone do it before, he said yeah a lot. I'm not surprised since they're giving out buns with no meat and charging $6.99. Are you kidding. He mentioned something about the sometimes they don't have food left over - well here's a thought, take your offer off of the app or don't hand out anything just refund the customer. Why would you give someone a lettuce burger. If this is not incompetent tell me what is. And I bet if I turned around and ordered something they would have had it. Seems like a scam to me.

The Original Taco Pete in Los Angeles is one of those neighborhood spots that instantly makes you understand why locals love it. While visiting family, I casually mentioned wanting tacos, and before I could finish my sentence, everyone excitedly said, "You have to go to Taco Pete down the street and get the shrimp tacos." I drove just a few miles from my cousin's home near the Leimert Park area and found this Black owned gem buzzing with energy. It was close to closing, and you could tell they were still busy, but the team handled everything smoothly. While I waited for my order, a few guests spoke with the owner, who was kind and pleasant, taking a moment to chat with everyone in good spirits. I ordered ten shrimp tacos, and they were everything I hoped for. Crispy, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly. They were so good that I could have easily eaten three in one sitting without realizing it. The prices were reasonable, the service was friendly, and the food was top tier. Taco Pete clearly holds a special place in the community, and after one visit, I completely understand why. It is definitely a spot I will return to next time I am in Los Angeles, and maybe I will explore more of that hidden menu everyone raves about.

Got Taco Pete delivered to the crib from Postmates last night for dinner and it did not disappoint. FYI they have a deal on Postmates where you can get a BOGO deal for the Supreme Burrito and Colossal Burger right now. With a deal like that OF COURSE I took advantage, got 4 items plus tip for $41 bucks. We got the steak burrito and it was full of flavor and meat. Disclaimer, it is not your traditional Mexican burrito unless you order it that way. The Colossal Burger had thick beef part Ty and pastrami throughout which made it hearty. I will eat here happily again with no problem.

I will start by saying I gave this establishment a 5 star because I love coming here, it's a childhood memory for me growing up and it gives the hood fried shell tacos you make at home but don't feel like cooking type. As of May 6th I won't be returning for a while. There was a young lady by the name of Teya M that was printed on my receipt and her attitude was very dismissive and agitated. I tried to lighten up the atmosphere with a little laugh but she continued with negative energy and awkward eye staring. Once me and my fiance received our order there was a huge discrepancy! She made our order how her attitude was, HATE! This was the most disrespectful tacos I have EVER eaten. And facts the owner would never go for this. End of the day, I should've stuck to my gut. We've eaten here over 20 times and the energy I received wouldn't let my spirit rest on this.

I am person may the complain about my order I didn't receive what I had order and I pay $ 25.oo .

I went there on Monday 6/1/26 , first time going there, So I had order four tacos and 1 burrito supreme. on my taco I just got 3 tomatoes a little cheese and little, Lettuce, but the was ok, I was just appointed in my burrito supreme because I did not get no tomatoes no lettuce no sour cream and no guacamole on my burrito supreme, I just got little cheese on my burrito supreme, so I went back next day to make a complain, so I ask the customer, I need see your manager. when the customer can back and told me he own the phone, unable to come and talk to me. If anyone that's going to order a supreme burrito remember check your order because they be lying they do not put no other greeting inside your burrito. So I won't be back over there anymore, but I will let people know not to go there to eat there, at Original Taco Pete restaurant at 3272 Slauson ave in Los Angeles CA, customer service was good my rate is 5 but my order fail so I rate one ,

They didn't open at 12:00pm as stated on sign. Their menu is super limited, like 3-4 meats, and some vegetarian option. I personally would like more meat option, like beef tongue, fish, etc. Their tacos are large and also pricey. $4.50 per regular taco and $5.50 per taco if it has cheese. I got 3 asada, and 2 pork. The asada tasted the best, I would only get asada next time. Their sauces are on a separate counter, and there's plenty of options. I just hate how the plastic containers are by the register, and they're super tiny. Super inconvenient. No indoor seatings, outside is limited.

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Parking is tricky since its street parking only.

The last time I went was on October 3rd and September 12th of last year, so it had been almost a year since my last visit. The very first time was last summer with about 10 members from my Korean community group. We all thought the food was really delicious, and that's why I kept coming back. As you would expect from such a popular restaurant, there are always a lot of people here. Yesterday was no exception, and there was a pretty long line outside. Fortunately, the line moved fairly quickly, so it didn't feel too bad. After we decided what to order, I was reminded again that the prices here are quite expensive for a restaurant located inside a food court. Last year, I ordered for all four of us at once, and the total came to almost $200. So this time, we decided to pay separately for my mom and myself, while my two brothers each paid for their own meals. I ordered two of my absolute favorite dishes here, the Tostada de Kanpachi & Uni. This is something I really love because it tastes so fresh and delicious every time I have it. It's definitely a must-order dish for me. I also ordered two Taco de Pescado al Carbón. Those four items alone came to about $70. I also remembered that I had tipped way too much here last year, so this time I only left a $5 tip. (It is the food court system, even they bring the foods to our table) That brought my total to $75. My brothers ordered the large Brazilian fish, the Tostada Uni, and ceviche. Everything we had was delicious overall, but honestly, the tacos I ordered yesterday were not really for my taste at all. So next time I come here, I don't think I'll order the same tacos again. On the way to the restroom, I noticed people at another table eating lobster. I asked them where they ordered it from, and they told me they ordered it from Holbox. It looked absolutely delicious, so I'm definitely going to try the lobster next time I come here. I also really like that they have a water station near the section where people line up outside. There are cups available there, so you can help yourself to water while waiting, which is very convenient. One downside is that the restroom always has a noticeable smell. Fortunately, it's located quite far away from the dining area, but it also doesn't look particularly clean or sanitary. Another thing is that you have to eat certain dishes, especially the tostadas and tacos, with your hands. I personally don't really like eating food with my hands, but with tostadas and tacos, there's really no other way. After washing my hands in the restroom, the smell of the liquid soap is also quite unpleasant and strong. Unfortunately, I can still smell the soap on my hands while I'm eating, which bothers me quite a bit. And because Holbox is always so incredibly popular, finding a table can be difficult. Luckily, we were able to get a table pretty quickly yesterday. Overall, I still really enjoy coming here for the fresh and delicious seafood, especially the Tostada de Kanpachi & Uni. Even though there are a few things I don't love about the experience, the food itself is definitely why I keep coming back.

You can tell that it's house made and I liked the chewy texture of it. However, respectfully the filling felt and tasted like bean goo. I could only really taste the refried bean flavor which was strong. It kind of meshed all the components together into a gooey filling. I got this with asada meat and the meat was kind of chewy and not so flavorful on its own. Props to the tortilla though for not spilling everything out and holding it together well, but still a bit difficult to eat. I would ask for utensils when eating this dish. The green onion garnish was unique. I wish they gave more lime wedges because that helped elevate the dish. For $13 this wasn't too bad, but I'd rather get a better burrito from a street vendor. This is a casual eats type of place with both indoor and outdoor seating and tables. They also serve alcohol and even frozen alcoholic drinks. They have a free parking lot in front, but it can be competitive to get a spot. Overall, my experience here was just okay and I would opt for other spots.
