Inconsiderate, lazy, apathetic, unorganized, atrocious and ridiculous. Pulled up by 6pm. Placed order. 58.58. Was told it would be an hour. No problem, I remembered how they roll from years ago. I took my happy butt home to wait. I had time because my special needs son had to be at his board and care by 9 or he gets locked out. I was happy I could treat my family. 814 pm rolls around. No call from WW. I hurriedly take my son and drive over there. After a lot of knocking and raising my voice to get attention, I am told my order isnt ready yet. I no longer can afford to wait. If my son isnt across town by 9, he gets locked out. I ask for a refund. He hands me a copy of the receipt I got a couple of hours before. I tell him that it is 2026. This will not suffice. You've already burned me. I want the receipt that shows I was fully refunded. Another Dude comes out from back and after several seconds, produces the right paperwork. I speed across town and get to my son's home by 847pm. I didn't even have time to stop and grab something for him. I will NEVER BLESS this place with my presence again. There are several amazing Black owned taco spots that don't put you through BS. This is beneath me. I was so triggered I cried on my car. This was utter BS. PERIOD. Ordered 6 tacos at 6:30pm, got my call to come pick up my tacos at 10:30pm!! 4 hours is absolutely egregious! What are they doing is the question? It's tacos! They're okay. They're not great and there's nothing exceptional that takes 4 hours. For my family it was not worth the wait. I've had friends have a $500 each, 11 course meal in Italy that didn't take 4 hours. This is not comparable to that. I keep saying to myself, "it's tacos, simple as that!" 4 hours is ridiculous and unconscionable. read more

Been to World Wide probably 10 times and has not once disappointed. I stay in the OC and randomly had a craving for WWT and took a trip. This time I got the garlic chicken and shrimp burrito and tacos w the spicy sauce. The man at the window is super friendly and gave an accurate wait time. It's funny because I always get mad at the wait, but when I eat the food, I always say the wait was worth it. I'm writing this review as I'm eating so all of this is in real time and the food is delicious! read more

Like a lot of the reviews on here, I went to try Worldwide tacos after watching Issa and Molly rave about it on Insecure. I ordered the BBQ Salmon, Blueberry Shrimp, Jerk Chicken and Curry Chicken. The Blueberry Shrimp was probably my favorite! Each taco is packed with flavor and enormous. You'll be full after two. They have a large menu and (I believe) prioritize fresh ingredients which is why your order might take long. They might be shopping! If you want to go here, prepare to go on a nearby excursion - like a hang out or gym sesh. Usually I hang out in Ktown at a coffee shop or stop by the museum in Leimert Park. I think the Baldwin Hills mall is close too, for a movie or a walk. The first time I went with my friends we chit-chatted and played some games at a coffee shop. Knowing the story of the place, we didn't want the wait to tint my experience. And the food didn't dissappoint! read more

100% worth the wait! Don't care what anyone says. My favorite is the raspberry shrimp taco hard shell so damn good. The wait used to be like 5 hours but now it's only like an hour and I believe that's cuz they make u purchase 5 tacos of the same flavor now. We used to come and order 10 different flavors of individual tacos which I believe is why the wait used to be so long. Either way this place is a gem! read more

Sooo I got a lobster taco and a shrimp taco ... both hard shell ... They were both extremely salty and spicy although my husband told them mild .. Wait was about an hour ... They are expensive 2 Tacos, and a burrito 55 dollars.. I don't think I'll ever be back , I can make these tacos at home and btw I don't think they are actually cooking the tacos on the premises , My theory is I think they are using a house nearby and someone is bringing the order to the location , that's why it takes so long .. read more

Three words: WORTH. THE. WAIT. Its 2023 and I visited this taco stand in 2019. You know who still thinks about it? ME! I ran across a picture of me recently standing outside and realized I had never done a review. This place literally has some of the BEST tacos and fries I've ever eaten in my life. It's been years so I honestly cannot remember what I ordered but I DO remember absolutely LOVING it and the 2 hour wait being worth it! All I've got to say is Issa Rae knew what she was doing showcasing this business on Insecure. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in LA! read more

This place is the most awful and dirty place you can ever go to get your food!! I can't believe that people don't even know and buying foods from here! They are grilling all those meats in the back where tons of trash and nasty junk everywhere and I used see even rats was running around this place. Food was so bad and charged way too much for that quality of food. It's so shame. You should never go to this place if you don't want to get sick! Plus, whoever the woman works at the window was sooo rude and bad attitude! Come on dude! Who goes to those kind of place to eat?? Just saying! Sad read more

Amazed at the hype machine that keeps this place going. Had heard that it was amazing, cautioned that it would take hours for my order to be ready. I finally had a long window of time open while I was in the area and went to see for myself. The menu is impressive but most of the really unique offerings are only available as party platters. The guy at the window kept writing my order down wrong, had to correct him - all part of the charm. Price per taco is borderline insanity. The burrito is a much better deal. Waited just under 3 hours for the call, headed back before their business hours ended. Got a call at 7:59pm. Buzzer beater. Now to describe the food; I'm not sure what takes 3 hours to make but most of that time is probably spent applying salt & seasoning to the meat. Couldn't taste the chicken, beef or salmon under the seasoning. Lamb was able to cut through, I would recommend that to someone who wants to eat here for the experience. The hot sauce is good. I'm glad a business that defies all the normal rules is able to survive in this world. More power to them. Since somehow this spot has made itself a fixture of "best tacos in LA" lists, I offer up my own "Most overrated LA neighborhood fixture taco spots that people swear is actually good but it's because they have good memories of coming here drunk and it's a local pride thing" list: 1. Worldwide Tacos (Leimert Park) 2. Tito's Tacos (West Side) 3. Flamin' Taco (Echo Park/Silverlake) 4. Ave 26 Tacos (Eastside/Boyle Heights) 5. Chronic Tacos (OC/IE strip malls & gas stations) Bonus The only tacos in LA worth driving any distance/waiting in line for list: 1. Villas tacos (Highland park location only) Seriously just go to the closest street vendor with an al pastor spit with a pineapple on the top. That's always going to be the best taco in LA. read more

My friend and I are really big insecure fans and this taco stand was the scene of an iconic first date for Issa and Nathan. Obviously when in LA you go to all the food spots from the show, right?! They don't open until 3pm so we arrived maybe at about 3:30pm. I started ordering the tacos that they ordered on the show and I was told that certain tacos are required to be bought in quantities of 5. We asked them nicely (a few times because persistence is key) if we could pleaseeee try without having to buy 5. Like all the reviews before mine, if you come here just know that you should make other plans while you wait lol. It took a little over 2 hours before we got the call to come pick up the tacos. We went and they gave us the tacos we asked for from the show for free! I thought that was the sweetest thing ever! We tried the bbq salmon, Thai shrimp, lemon lime steak, chunky chicken and Belizean shrimp. The Thai shrimp and lemon lime steak were my favorite! They did ask if we wanted them spicy and to my surprise they were actually spicy and that's rare for me because my spice tolerance is through the roof. They were so kind and I feel like you need to at least try them if you're in LA! Support black business! read more

Found this place in a Yelp Collection and since it's not far from home, lemme check it out! A permanent taco stand with a parking lot, World Wide Tacos will feed you, but then you better beat it for the facilities, lol... There's no getting into this fortress of fajitas - sorry no fajitas, you knew what I was going for, lol! Open air ambiance of the cool evening air, I'm the last order of the business day! They keep odd hours because they can afford to! So don't be later than 8pm! Ordered at the window; lots to choose from. A sister at the window took my order, so I already know the food is going to be good!! She took my number said she'd call when foods ready in about 30 mi. I decided to try a ground beef burrito. I didn't wait that long. Was hooked up with a bottle of water and dessert sample of banana cream pie: OMG it's so sweet and delicious!! Any more than this sample and I'd need an insulin drip!!!! Perfect fries, not overcooked and seasoned just so =D My burrito was heavy with savory flavors. Feels like a 5 lb weight in my hand!!! I knew this place wouldn't disappoint!!! During our last trip out to LA, Worldwide Tacos was one of the top eateries on my list to hit up - I am so glad that I did! This place freshly prepares (yes, literally) over 150 types of tacos, including various proteins (beef, chicken, turkey, shrimp, seafood, lamb, duck, and combo meats), veggies and meatless options, burritos, combos, family packs, and various sides (such as potato wedges, fries, chips, etc.). Tacos come with cheese, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and cilantro, with a choice of a hard or a soft tortilla shell with the house hot or mild taco sauce; burritos come with cheese, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, black beans, and brown rice in a flour tortilla shell with the house hot or mild sauce. I ordered the Mango Salmon, the Raspberry Chipotle Shrimp, and the Blueberry Chicken, all on hard tacos with all the toppings aside from cilantro, with the house hot sauce. These tacos were SO GOOD! You can tell that the marinade/seasoning were all house-prepared and housemade, and the tacos were assembled with such care. The staff were super friendly, and ordering was a breeze. The only catch is, you'll end up waiting 3.5 - 4 hours for your order. Yes, believe it! Is it worth the wait? I personally thought so, as you could always leave and do errands around the area and come back. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but these tacos ain't it!! I got the Belizean shrimp, beef and potato, grilled lime chicken, grilled salmon and the turkey. I could make better tacos in my kitchen for way less money. The lime chicken and the beef and potato were an ABSOLUTE NO!!! The service was cool and the wait time was about an hour. Not sure if the tacos have always been like this but I will not be back. read more

I came here because I saw they were in an episode of Insecure... i ordered several tacos and 1 burrito. The tacos were okay, I really liked the mushroom one but the gem was def their loaded burrito! The service was fine, they explained the wait time as they cook everything fresh... the ambiance was meh; it's an order and take out sort of a set up. read more

Aye if you reading this do yourself a favor and run, not walk but run to this place. I'm an LA native born and raised here and I've never had worldwide before. My apologies to myself. All the music videos, tv shows, and word of mouth reviews does it no justice. Best taco experience of my life and I've got a few stamps under my belt to justify my opinion. Yes the wait is long, however it's not like its mystery, everyone knows things are made to order, the prepare 10+ items per meal with over 20 flavor combinations so yes it will take some so plan accordingly. Listen we all know oil changes take some time so what do we do, plan ahead. Same principle applies here give yourself 2-4 hour window based on your order for your food to be ready. My wife raves about this place and she's been going since she was a kid so she already had her order memorized! We ordered about 15 tacos and burritos to split between 4 adults. Needless to say we didn't order enough. My personal favorite was the Buffalo chicken and an extremely close tie for 1st was the shrimp lemon lime. And the hard shell taco was really hard shell no breakage or anything. No skimping on meat portions or anything. Worth the wait and the $145 tab. Food was so amazing I had to call the restaurant and tell the guy on the phone to slap everyone that worked in there bc this made NO sense how amazing everything was. I can't speak on the service bc someone else ordered but when it comes to the flavors and what they offer, 5 stars across the board. Keep in mind ordering special tacos/burritos you have to order in bulk but you won't be upset. read more

Placed my order earlier this week at 4pm and I did not get my 4 tacos until 7:15. I left and went home and came back twice still not ready. Legit could have gone to the store and made everything faster. What are they doing back there?! Took them a flight from LAX to Dallas to make 4 tacos. They were good tho. Still just as delicious, but I got a hella MAJOR allergic reaction to the Thai shrimp taco. It must've had peanuts... What are the hours of operation? Yelp says they open at 11:30 am and Google says they open at 3 pm😳?

I spoke to one of the workers who said they began opening at 3pm during the COVID-19 pandemic. So its 3pm until further notice

They are not taking phone calls anymore? I am trying to call the number on their site but there is a recording saying the voice mail hasn't been activated. Is there another phone?

They do NOT take phone orders. You have to go there and order and they will call you when the order is ready for pick up. It usually takes up to 45mins.

Are they open sporadically? I just visited and they were closed and it looks like it happens to others and wanted to check if it's a thing, which is fine.

It is completely halal... They clean off the grill after each item is cooked.

Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at all. Before ordering food, I asked our server about the differences between the mezcals and which flight they would recommend. The only explanation I received was, "It's just different families, so I'd go with the higher quality one." There was no real information or guidance, and it was obvious they didn't know much about the mezcal selection. I ended up choosing one based solely on what sounded best. We were then informed that the menu had recently changed and is now mostly tapas. That's perfectly fine, but I noticed several items from my previous visit were still available, so I figured I'd order a few favorites along with some new dishes. Most of the food was actually great. The ribeye tacos, tostada, and buñuelitos were all delicious. However, the carne asada was extremely disappointing. We only sent back one plate because I felt bad sending both, and that's when a manager (the gentleman with the man bun) came over. He explained that they have a new chef from Oaxaca, but what confused me was that they were serving Argentinian-style steaks as their carne asada. Instead of a traditional Mexican-style cut, it was thin, flat, and honestly looked like a breakfast steak. For a restaurant that prides itself on being a modern Mexican restaurant, serving Argentinian steak as carne asada just didn't make sense to me. To his credit, he removed both carne asada plates from our bill, which I genuinely appreciated. After that, he asked if there was anything else we'd like. I personally said no, but someone else at the table asked for one more ribeye taco. The manager replied, "You know what? I'll bring you one, and I'll bring them another too." Naturally, I assumed he was offering the extra taco as a goodwill gesture since I hadn't ordered anything else. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the bill and realized both tacos had been added to our tab. I wasn't going to argue over the price of a taco, but it was frustrating because I never asked for it. In fact, I ended up giving that taco away to my friends. If it wasn't complimentary, it shouldn't have been presented as if it were. Another thing worth mentioning is that while the carne asada portion has clearly gotten much smaller, the price remains exactly the same, which doesn't seem justified. Overall, my biggest disappointment is that there was no indication when making the reservation that this was essentially an experimental period with a new chef introducing major menu changes. Had I known beforehand, I never would have recommended Mirate for our dinner, and to be completely honest, I probably wouldn't have made a reservation at all. I only get two days off each month, so this was supposed to be something I could really enjoy. Instead, it honestly felt like a waste of my time and money. I'm sorry to say that while there were a few good moments, they faded very quickly. Unfortunately, the negative parts are what have stayed with me, and that's what I'll remember most about the experience. It's disappointing because I know how great Mirate can be since I experienced it just a few weeks ago. I truly hope they can regain the quality of food, service, and overall experience that made me recommend it in the first place . They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.
