This was probably the biggest waste of money I've spent all month. The chili was not chili. It was a disgusting paste that somehow is supposed to pass for chili. It looked and tasted like they took the beef from Taco Bell, mixed it with some pudding, some flower, and some water and smashed it onto the food in such gross amounts that it completely overwhelmed anything else. My family and I went to one of their location in henderson, when you look at the menu everything looks good, so we order 6 double cheeseburger and chilli cheese fries. the chilli looks like a clay and the cheeseburger was very disappointing. in n out burger is 100 times better. read more

I am not a big chili fan but I would have to say that the chili at Tommy's is pretty darn good. Especially on the fries. The consistency is ideal to put in a burger but I actually prefer it on the fries only and not in the burger. Too messy inside the burger. I just moved to this side of town, so I've been wanting to hit up different places to eat. I went here around 9am because I saw that they were open and weren't selling solely breakfast foods. The staff was nice, the quarter pounder cheeseburger tasted great.. Just one problem. When I unwrapped the yellow sheet... No chili cheese on my fries! I paid an extra $2 for that service. Extremely disappointed. I was the only patron at the time, too. I will give this place a second chance one day, but I will check my bag before leaving or dine-in. read more

Thank God they finally opened one up last year. I used to have to speed to Barstow to get my hands on my favorite indulgence. I remember following all the drama on the internet ever since I moved to Vegas. With the delays and uncertainty it was well worth the wait and the drive from North Las Vegas. Not bad. Just not as good as the the Tommy's I have been to previously. Ate in on a Friday night and they weren't that busy. Not a good sign on the weekend. Very clean and well kept. Staff was quite friendly. My major complaint is that there are no shakes offered at this location. That didn't make me happy as Tommy's is home to some of my favorite shakes. I used to drive from the bay area to la just to go to a Tommy's. When they opened the one in Valencia, I was so happy. It would take an hour each way off the trip. When I was going to Las Vegas last week, I did a search to see if there was a Tommy's on the way. I found that there was one in Barstow and Palmdale. I could stop at either one of these on the way there or back. Then I noticed that they had one in Henderson, Nevada. Since I was going to go to Hoover Dam anyway, Tommy's was on the way from Las Vegas. Well, I had my first order of a chili dog and chili fries. I only went back for a second round though. (Normally I will go for a third round of a chili fries and chili tamale.) The chili at this Tommy's was kind of a let down. I don't know if it is this particular Tommy's or if it was just an off day for this one. Every single time I have been to any of 14-15 different Tommy's the chili has been exactly the same. It doesn't matter which location, time of day or day of the week. It is just good ol Tommy's greasy chili. This time it was lacking some of the flavor. It still had the grease, it still had the color and it even had the same consistency of baby diaper diarrhea. It was just missing something. read more

Always a stop for us when there is one around. As it so happened there was one about 20 miles away. You can't beat their chili. The burgers and fries aen't bad either but it's all about the chili. Just got back from a trip to LA.. went to the Original Tommys on Beverly... Greasy?, YES, Fattening? YES, Health threatening? YES... but it was like food Nirvana... Had a craving for Tommy's today on Thanksgiving so popped in for a chili burger and chili dog, glad they were open! Grew up in Southern California so I'm kind of partial to Tommy's and the burgers here taste exactly like the ones I remember from the Beverly and Rampart location as a kid (for years drove all the way to Barstow from Vegas for my Tommy's run). Must of eaten at this location close to 100 times by now and the staff are always super friendly, and the food is always fresh. read more

I can see from the low review ratings that Tommy's isn't for everyone, and I sort of get it. But when I see stuff like "In-N-Out is 100 times better", then I don't get it at all. I eat at In-N-Out all of the time, and it has its merits, but let's face it, it is only busy because it is cheap. In terms of quality, it is pretty shaky compared to other burgers that can be had around town. If someone was visiting me and said "take me to a good burger place", I wouldn't dream of In-N-Out. To say that In-N-Out is better than any burger other than a Big Mac is weak...it is cheaper than any other burger. That's it. What this tells me is that some people just don't understand what Tommy's is and what it isn't. Further, and more importantly, that these people don't know how to eat. I'm serious, when I read the reviews of this place and see people complaining that the chili was thick, I just shake my head. Tommy's is a chili burger. The chili is unique, thick, and very greasy. But it is also completely awesome, and if you had anything that didn't have chili on it, you have completely failed to understand Tommy's purpose in existing. All of their food is designed to have chili on it...their chili, thick and messy. Yes the burger is bland without it...it is not meant to stand alone. Neither are the fries. And if you can't handle greasy food, you are in the wrong place, just like you shouldn't get pizza at RoundTable. Those of you that like a meal you can feel guilty about, and you know who you are, don't listen to these lightweights that don't get what it is supposed to be. Which is GRUB you can't find anywhere else. They are wrong...the chili is completely awesome and this place is an institution in LA. Literally love Tommy's so much but this location has gone down hill. I use to frequently get my Tommy's fix at this location... last 5 times have had me wanting to just leave it to the California chains.... I literally got a box that was ripped on the top of it so they got cold on the way home.... literally barely any chili (usually covered in chili). Just so disappointed there. You use to have like a chubby young Manager.... don't know name but he was the man... friendly and knew how to make them good. I will no longer go to this location. I'll drive 25 mins across town instead or wait for Cali trips.... who ever was working today 7/21/19 at 7:30ish didn't offer great service. No smile no small talk no nothing plus had to wait on top of that for 10 mins on chili fries that you barely put fries in the box and barely put chili on.... smh pathetic.... Horrible! I was craving a chili dog and noticed on yelp that this place was around the corner from my house and was supposed to be famous for their chili so I hopped in the car and ordered the chili dog combo with chili cheese fries. I will say the young man working there was very nice but when I got home I noticed my fries were devoid of chili which I would later be happy about. I opened up the chili dog and took a bite and promptly threw it in the garbage. The "famous" chili tasted like unseasoned squished beans and had the texture of tooth paste. The only edible thing was my fries and the little peppers they threw in the bag. Save your money because this place makes weinerschnitzel look like fine dining. read more

I have been going to Tommy's since 1968, and I have visited this location at least a dozen times. Today was the worst burger I have ever had at a Tommy's. Whoever runs this restaurant needs to give their cooks a Tommy's 101 lesson on how to make a Tommy's burger. The reason a Tommy's is great because of the combinations of ingredients. They all contribute to the taste of the burger. My chili-cheese burger was awful. I always get it with everything. My burger had maybe two pickles, no mustard I could taste, maybe five bits of onion and the smallest tomato slice I have ever seen at Tommy's. All of these flavors build up the overall taste. When I don't go back for a second burger,(this is the first time in 48 years), you know it was bad. I ate there at 1pm on April 27, 2016. I will never go back, and I am a Tommy's junkie...The chili was not up to par either, what a bummer read more
