    Chili Cheese Fries

Another LA staple , if my family and is craving some fast food it's either in n out or Tommy's. It just really depends on how we are feeling. The service is always kind and friendly and the place is always usually clean especially for a fast food place . It's probably not the healthiest but it sure does taste good. A nice cheat meal that hits the spot for fast food craving. I always get the chili fries with the fries well done. The food honestly isn't the most aesthetic but that's not the vibe here. Just typing this review makes me want to go back. Great bang for buck food I'd say especially when they have deals going on.

A lot of 5 stars for taste of nostalgia. Sorry I disagree, 3 stars for thee. I hope they improve the flavor. It's just a burger with textured soy protein "chili" in it. The patty wasn't seasoned (no salt) and the chili is really plain, no flavor is what I'm saying. Wendy's and Wienerschnitzel chilis have more flavor no doubt. I got it at $4 during their promo, and even then I don't know whether I would want it again. $16 for a combo and $18 for a burger, drink, and fries is really pushing it for this kind of fast food. Chili's and Applebee's offer a better value, even taking it to-go. Don't get me wrong, I get up eating a lot of these; from Rick's to Jim's to The Hat, I'd love a good greasy spoon because it's tasty, greasy, and indulgent. This place is just greasy sadly. I don't get the "it's so good, I don't care how many calories or saturated fat this has" feeling here. Service is quick and dining area is clean though. I like the white tile design indoor, reminds me of a simple In-n-Out

With the expansion of the restaurants, you no longer need to go to Beverly & Rampart to get your fix. I ordered 2 chili cheese dogs, fries and a drink. The food was great, as usual. The Monrovia store was very clean, both inside and out. The service was fast and friendly.

I've tried many chili cheeseburgers at greasy spoon restaurants and no one beats Tommy's. I was in the area and craving a burger so I stopped by and ordered a number 1 combo which included a double chili cheeseburger, fries, and a fountain drink. The cashier talked me into upgrading the fries to chili cheese fries for a low price. As always the food was delicious and dripping with chili.

Famished from a hike, i thought I'd give em a try from all the great reviews on Google. The restroom was pristine and order was easy/customizable just like other reviewers said! Stoked to try my first ever Original Tommy's meal, I went all in and ordered their double chzburger and chili cheese fries: well done fries, extra chili, extra pickles, side of ranch, side of yellow peppers. The two items came out to be $15.77 with tax which is totally reasonable but i would've paid an extra buck or two for some higher quality ingredients. From the first bite to the last, i kept looking for the flavor. Bland and tasteless, the food was a real let down. For being a lasting chain and the chili looking so luscious, I felt mislead and disappointed. Though they didn't look happy, the service was fairly friendly so i appreciated that as a first timer.

This was my first breakfast at Tommy's. I got the breakfast egg and sausage sandwich with tomato, onion, pickles and chili. It was so delicious. The food was hot, and made right on the spot. The restaurant was super clean and the wait staff were very friendly. I haven't been here before, it was a delightful morning, the sun filled the 50's style restaurant and reminded me of a simpler time in the world. I loved coming in for this visit. I'll have to come back soon!

Double chili cheeseburger and chili cheese fries

The workers here are really friendly. It's my first time here and she helped me with my order and suggested the yellow peppers. I ordered the double cheeseburger with chili meal, upgraded to well done chili cheese fries. I added extra tomato, mustard, and the yellow peppers on the side. I would order extra pickles instead as you need the acid. It tastes exactly as you think it's going to taste. Mild chili, there's not a lot of spices or flavor in my opinion. This is the seling point as it's on every menu item, but the chili overwhelms the flavor of anything else and I didn't think it tasted very good to be the highlight of the chain. The chili cheese fries was the chili with a slice of cheese on fries. I wish it was shredded cheese and onions. I did find the yellow peppers and mustard added flavor to my meal. It's probably a better option to try the chili dog instead, but I wouldn't get the meal I had again.

It has been YEARS since I had Tommy's! I used to go consistently when I was working in DTLA and our director would take us there for a yummy team lunch, resulting us coming back to the office with food coma. BF had a hankering for some Tommy's, which we both haven't had in a long while, so we drove to our nearest one in Monrovia. I still remember food OD'ing with both the chili burger and the chili fries so I was hesitant to order the same again, but BF convinced me that we got this. So we ordered a chili cheeseburger ($4.45 with no pickles), double chili cheeseburger ($5.70 with no pickles, no mustard, and extra onions), and chili fries ($5.30). We both love that there was a graphic at the register of what's in a typical burger so you can quickly and easily modify your order. Food was out in a reasonable amount of time and we enjoyed it back home. While we would've loved to have more chili on the fries and we remembered the burgers bursting with chili back then (maybe it's less due to costs nowadays), it still hit the spot. We weren't too food comatose afterwards, so that's a plus (or minus if you think of it on the other side of the coin). We're eyeing their breakfast burrito (available all day and comes with chili) and their breakfast sandwich next! They have their own parking lot, so it's not too hard to get a spot. Decent amount of seating indoors too.

The chili was watered down today. Had no taste or substance. Very disappointed because the biggest draw, normally, is the chili.

We were spending the day with her in the City of Angels to run some errands and help her out and as a treat for our hard work, she wanted to treat us and to see if we concur with her lofty assertion. HR lived up to her hype and I can't wait to eat the leftovers we brought home after dining at this chicken sando institution. For me, it's definitely THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I'VE EVER EATEN. Besides the spectacular grub, what I truly was impressed with was the GREAT customer service from Rico and his coworkers. There are two Howlin' Ray's in Los Angeles. The one we visited was located in Pasadena and their first location can be found in Chinatown. Both locations are popular with diners, so I recommended you visiting when the doors open. The Pasadena HR is next to Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee, it's across the street from Petco and Turner's Outdoorsman, and it's just down the road from WaBa Grill and a Starbucks. This was my wife and my first visit to HR and our daughter brought us here before 5pm. Please don't be discouraged by the long line of diners waiting to enter the restaurant. The staff do a great job getting the diners through the ordering counter and finding seats for customers wanting to dine in. You'll wait in line, order your food from the register, and then wait until a table opens up. The tables consists of booths inside and tables and chairs outside under a covered patio. The customer service from the young lady at the order counter, Rico and the team ensuring that diners are seated and taken care of, and the employees expediting the food was customer friendly and customer focused. The employees were so kind, hard working, and I was really impressed by their top notch customer service. Major props to the owners for making customer service a priority. Delicious food will make customers gravitate towards a restaurant, but when combined with impeccable customer service, I understand why customers like my daughter swear by Howlin' Ray's. Yo HR ownership group, San Diego needs one of your restaurants and I can assure you that customers will inundate your restaurant. I wanted to order as much as I could from their menu, so that I could verify if the hype was real. The hype is real folks!! I ordered The Sando, Shake Fries, Collard Greens, Potato Salad, and Sweet Peach Tea. We also ordered the following dipping sauces, which are must orders: Comeback Sauce, Tennessee Tang, and Sweet Money Mustard. Their Sando comes with a boneless breast, slaw, comeback sauce, and pickles encapsulated in a butter bun. I'm a fan of spicy chicken sandwiches, so for my spice level, I chose Medium. I wanted to enjoy my food, which is why I went with medium. Rico gave me a sample of a Medium Plus piece of chicken and I'm so glad I chose medium. Medium Plus was really hot, so imagine what the high spice levels taste. The Sando was huge, the chicken was tender and flavorful, and the components all ate really well together. Their collard greens were juicy and satisfying. Arguably some of the best I've eaten. The potato salad was creamy and dill infused. So yummy!! Loved their seasoned shake fries, which were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing after dipping them in the variety of sauces. I am definitely a Howlin' Ray's convert and wholeheartedly concur with my daughter's positive accolades of this chicken sandwich institution. Not only was their food memorable, but the customer service from their staff matched the greatness of the grub. If you're in Los Angeles, visit Howlin' Ray's.

I'd never been before, but I'd been wanting to try it for a long time. As soon as I walked in, I noticed two ordering kiosks with people waiting in line. Before I could even figure out what to do, a young lady with the biggest smile greeted me and asked if she could help. Her name was Patty. I told her it was my first visit, and she patiently explained the menu, especially the different spice levels. Since I enjoy spicy food, I confidently ordered the Hot level. Looking back... I may have been a little overconfident! When my food was ready, Patty brought it to my table with the same genuine smile she greeted me with. The food looked incredible, and the chicken was juicy and delicious--but after a few bites, I realized the Hot level was hotter than I had imagined. I laughed to myself and thought, "Next time, I'm definitely ordering one level lower." A few minutes later, Patty came back to check on me because it was my first visit. I told her the food was great, but I'd overestimated my spice tolerance. Without hesitation she said, "I'll change it for you." I immediately told her, "No, it's okay. It reminded me of something I had just read about Dave's Hot Chicken--"Keep us honest." Patty truly lived that philosophy. She wasn't just serving food; she genuinely wanted my first experience to be a great one. The food was excellent, but Patty's kindness and customer service made the experience memorable. That's the kind of employee every business hopes to have. I'll definitely be back--and hopefully Patty will be there again. Thank you, Patty, for making my first visit such a great one.
