Just came here because my mom was craving it. The burgers are ok nothing like the tommys in Van Nuys (with the full menu). Around 11:55pm Nov 16th. Drive-Thru. Ordered a Caliente burger with NO cheese. Got home and discovered Caliente burger WITH cheese. I placed un-eaten Caliente burger back into box and bag. Drove back to the same Tommy's drive-thru and explained (politely) that I specifically DID NOT want cheese on my Caliente burger (which my receipt reflects) and I am here to return the wrong burger for the correct burger. Window clerk took my returned burger. Moments later provided me the correct burger (so I thought). I drove home and discovered that the burger did not have cheese (thanks) but it was NOT a Caliente burger. It had no peppers anywhere on or around the burger, like it was supposed to. I have no interest in driving back to the drive-thru a third time to return another burger. Why is this so difficult to get right? It's only one item I ordered to get correct. I've been eating Tommy's for about 41 years. We've been frequenting the Palmdale one since it opened, until recently. There used to be lots of baby boomers (most of whom started their Tommy's habit at the original one at Rampart & Beverly like we did) in here enjoying burgers, fries, sodas and classic rock, but not anymore. A while back they changed the radio station to young people's music and now you never see very many boomers in there, and we can't stand the music so we rarely go now. The last two times we were there we saw only a few teens and one family with young kids (it used to always be busy). No older folks. Both times I suggested they need to bring back the classic rock and got laughed at, so apparently the manager there prefers fewer customers. We have obliged him. We won't be back unless we somehow find out that the classic rock is back. We've been fans all these years; I wonder how many years the younger generation will frequent Tommy's. I'd bet it won't be anywhere near 40+ years. I took away one star for the noise they call music. The food is still good, and we would come back if there was no music at all (but we'd prefer classic rock), but otherwise we won't darken Tommy's door in Palmdale. read more

What can I say about Tommy's. I have been eating their food since I was a kid. The chili is awesome the burgers taste great and the fries are always crispy. The staff is very friendly. The place is super clean. Even the drive-thru is pretty fast. Great for a late night snack and they even serve breakfast. The breakfast burritos are pretty tasty too. While running errands for my father in law, my husband decided to pick up burgers from Tommys. I've never eaten here, but he had and said it was pretty good. I just got a cheeseburger and fries, and my hubby got the double chili burger, and chili fries. My burger was decent. Pretty thin meat patty, but I don't mind the veggies taking over my burger sometimes. The veggies were fresh, and crisp. The fries were hot, and perfectly cooked, but could have used a little salt or seasoning. My husband let me taste his chili fries, and I wish I would have ordered something with their chili sauce. It's that good! The service, while decently fast, leaves a little to be desired. Our server seemed miserable and was terribly unfriendly. It wouldn't deter me from future visits though. Yea, this place is awesome. Much as i like their chili hamburger, i can't eat here everyday. If i did, i would have a heart attack by next week. But their chili hamburger is just packed with flavors. Unfortunately, i like mine spicy, so i always ask for extra peppers on the side for extra kick. They don't have 100s of things on the menu, they only make chili hamburgers and maybe one other thing. The food is delicious, but the rating is for the sorry staff and how the restrooms are neglected. We told them the men's room needed attention. The employee says, "OK" as she walks away. Forty-five minutes later, the restroom remains unattended. The ladies' room was also in need of replenishing supplies. The employees were standing around yakking. They are neglecting their duties. Also, these people are the sorriest staff. They are such sourpusses you cannot even get a smile out of one -- not one of them. You keep thanking them for everything: taking your order, giving you your cups for the sodas; then, later handing you your meal and you cannot get one of them to say that you are welcome. We've come to Tommy's in Palmdale since they opened. They used to have nicer workers. Absolutely every single one of their workers needs professional training. It does not matter what time we visit the restaurant. As things stand, they have no business behind a counter and dealing with the general public. But then I was introduced to their breakfast burrito... omg... one of the best breakfast burritos ive ever had. I wouldnt recommend eating tommys everyday though but their food greasy, messy, but sooo gooood. But like I said, I dont recommend it everyday lol.
