I was invited here for a work dinner. Mediterranean restaurant in the Mandalay Bay resort. Though you are close to the casino, it didn't feel that way. The interior was open and airy. It was quite loud due to this and proximity to the casino. Well appointed tables. Comfortable place for dinner. The staff were engaging and attentive. I had the lamb chops, which were recommended and excellent. The plate seems to be incomplete. It was served with rice and a pepper sauce. I would have appreciated some veggies as well but ok. Zucchini appetizer was flavorful but not my thing. Dessert was the baklava with yogurt (excellent), chocolate torte (straight forward) and passion fruit cheesecake (good but I am not a passion fruit fan). We also sample ld a few drinks. The tears of Alexandria was ok, the old fashioned was solid. Price was pretty pricey but felt in line with current Vegas pricing at these restaurants Overall, a solid meal and better that someone else was paying. read more

Quality/Quantity - One of our favorite meals on this trip. This would have been a 5 star review if it was not for the wrong charges on the check. We chose the $125 tasting menu today with the $79 wine pairing. Appetizers - Marinated Big Eye Tuna (they substituted tuna with tomatoes/salsa for my buddy who has allergies), The Greek, Whipped Chickpea Hummus with Pita - All was good. The whipped chickpea was almost like whipped cream. Pasta Course - Toasted Orzo with Spicy Duck Ragout & Macaroni Bechamel - I enjoyed the orzo more. Family Style - Char Grilled Branzino (the chef gave my buddy a larger Kabab Platter due to his fish allergies), Saffron Rice, Pita Bread, Grilled Asparagus - All of which was good. Dessert - Orla Rice Pudding & Olive Oil Semolina Cake - I enjoyed the rice pudding more. Also an amazing and generous wine pairing, see pictures. Actually, I would have enjoyed this dinner even more if we did not go to happy hour at Beerhaus right beforehand... Atmosphere - Same/similar format as the previous restaurant. We have spent many nights at their circular bar in previous years with the previous business. Service - Good overall. But still was never told why or how all our charges were different from the menu prices. They did correct it. Price - $442 + tip. Baba ganoush is so creamy with a hint of smoke. Bechamel mac and cheese just melts in your mouth. The servers and the manager are super sweet and attentive. Not usually a fan of restaurants on the strip due to the hut and miss nature but this spot is delectable! read more

We came here for a group dinner and it was a great experience. Service was excellent, staff were very attentive. The restaurant was set up with plenty of larger parties and food came quickly. We tried a lot of the menu, some highlights include the delicious hummus and lemon chicken. Since my first review, I have been to Orla a few more times, and I have taken the liberty of trying a few of the different fish options. While they were all good, nothing tops the Branzino in my opinion. As a matter of fact I've gone and tried Branzino at four other restaurants on the strip since I had it at Orla earlier this year, and while a couple come close, nothing on the strip has beat it! Located in the Mandalay Bay, Orla provided a lovely spot for a romantic dinner. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and service was excellent. We really enjoyed the experience! We had the following: - Chilled lobster salad: Large lobster pieces combined with the mango, avocado and a delicious sauce made this a refreshing start to our meal. - Saganaki: The table side flambé provided a dramatic presentation of this pan-seared Greek cheese with wild mushroom. Very tasty when devoured immediately but once it cools down, it tasted like fried mozzarella sticks so definitely eat this quickly. - Urfa dusted big eye tuna: This was a nice surprise! Our server brought us this complimentary dish as our entree was taking a bit longer than anticipated. Delicious fried falafel with tahini, salad and tuna. - Phyllo-Crusted Petrale Sole: The puréed potato and English cream encircled a delicious pool of caviar cream. WSOP Day 28 - 5am, 25/25 PLO at Aria then A SOLO NIGHT OFF!!! The newest Michael Mina restaurant, opened in January 2024 FINALLY showcases the flavors of the chef's birthplace, Egypt. It's impressive. To begin, the G&T is outstanding. Hendrick's gin is cryo-infused with cucumber, mint, juniper, grapefruit, and black lemon greatly boosting the natural characteristics of the gin. Dried capers, black lemon, and fresh citrus zest garnish. The flavor is so complex it bests the former champion, the Ultimate from Jose Andres. To pair, the "royal caviar fateer". Think of a puff pastry tart shell filled with clotted cream, chives, dill and all topped with caviar; sublime. Tip: opt for 1/2oz of caviar to prevent it becoming overly salty. The chilled lobster salad, one of the best. Perfectly cooked lobster tail and claw meat is cut into bite-size pieces and paired with blistered sweet peppers, fresh mango and ripe avocado all dressed with an Egyptian spiced mango coulis. Perfectly balanced, extremely refreshing. Finally, the whole (head removed) oven roasted red snapper is a must. The thick, perfectly cooked snapper is sat atop a bed of sliced yukon gold potatoes and fennel. It is topped by a spiced tomato and pepper sauce along with halved kalamata olives. Extraordinarily juicy and tender throughout. This is one of the best prepared fish dishes in Vegas. The portion is gigantic and could be shared by two people. Outstanding 1500 selection wine book. Lots of hidden gems. Good selection offered by the glass. Vegas resort markup. Attentive, friendly service. It will get busy at the bar during conventions. Their food is remarkable. Greek salad was great, the feta was high quality. And phyllo-crusted sole fish was also very good. Service can be improved though, and hence the four star. Although they are friendly, they miss orders and are obviously overwhelmed. Missing drinks or disappearing when you need them is not right for this level of a restaurant. My family and I dined at Orla on a recent trip to Vegas - absolutely no notes!! This meal was wonderful from beginning to end. We all left stuffed and satisfied. We decided upon Orla because we were looking for a spot to eat at the Mandalay Bay before a show. I stumbled upon Orla and we decided to give it a whirl. We chose to have the pre fixe Orla experience which came with appetizers, a pasta course, meat and seafood, sides, and dessert. I can't even choose what was my favorite because it was all amazing. From the fresh hummus to the grilled branzino yo the cake at the end - it was all delicious. The portion was HUGE for the price. We were so sad we couldn't take it to go because these leftovers would have been a feast. I would definitely recommend if you like Mediterranean food. read more

When we arrived here, this place was pretty packed. Luckily, there was plenty of room at the bar to eat and enjoy a drink. Easy to find, Located inside the Mandalay Bay. (It took over Fleur - next to Retro by Voltaggio.) Lovely, low light ambiance. Not overly decorated; It's subtle, elegant without being pretentiously fancy. Because the lighting is low, some of my pics didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. Some of the flavors were subtle and light which is probably a good thing for most diners. Service was Top Notch as you'd expect from a Michael Mina establishment. Everyone knew their job and executed it smoothly. Started with cocktails: * Sorento - this is a Vodka based drink... a tad sweet, but not overly so. I could have consumed multiples of this easily. * Tamarind Tree (their version of an Old Fashioned) - if you are not a Bourbon person (like me), this is very approachable. Not overly strong nor potent like I expect from an Old Fashioned. Appetizers included: *Breads, spreads and pickles - Loved the pita... super puffy / fluffy... the other breads were 'meh'. The eggplant dip was my favorite... had a smoky flavor yet fresh and savory, and I wish there was more of the olive oil dip as the olive oil itself was incredible. (The tzatziki was the usual tzatziki.) The Pickled Veg - - WOW! WOW! Love Love Love these. I want more. I wonder if they will bottle this and sell it separately on the way out. I would totally buy a jar. *Katafi Prawns - I was a tad disappointed in this ... I wanted more "umph" in the seasoning, flavors. The prawns themselves were Fantastic! Big and Meaty and perfectly crispy that I ate some of the shell and head because it was so crispy. Mains: *Red Snapper - I think this could have fed 2 people, it wasn't huge but it wasn't small either. It was delicious! Flaked right off, barely had to chew. It was served HOT on a bed of thinly sliced potatoes. Where the potatoes soaked up the yummy flavors. *Lamb Shank - Super Succulent and Savory. Lots of flavors that just melted in your mouth. If you like Lamb, Get This! It was served on a bed of chickpea-orzo-something-crunchy yumminess. This is totally shareable if you are not a huge eater. Especially since we ordered 2 sides on top of our mains. * Saffron Rice - LOVE! The saffron was present but not overpowering. I wanted to eat ALL of this but knew better than to over-stuff myself. The serving size was good for 3 people (if everyone got their own main.) *Brussels Sprouts - Crispy on the outside, hot and soft on the inside. I wish there was more pomegranates. (I think this would also serve 3 people if everyone had their own mains.) *Glass of Greek Assyrtiko - from our fave Domaine Sigalas. Can't go wrong with this! It's a medium bodied white wine that pairs nicely with fish and seafood. Because it was just the 2 of us, we had leftovers that we couldn't take home since we were headed to a show after dinner. We really enjoyed our meal at Orla! This restaurant opened back in January, so was new since the last time I'd been to Mandalay Bay. I was excited to try it out since I like Mediterranean food. The service was great. They really took the time to walk us through the menu and explain different dishes to us. The pre fixe menu looks like it's a great deal, but I don't eat seafood, so we decided to create our own tasting menu! Here's what we ordered between the 2 of us: Bread and Dips - Really tasty! 3 different types of bread and 3 different dips. All of them were really delicious. I was partial to the seasoned olive oil. Saganaki - Can't go wrong with crispy, gooey cheese! Zucchini fritters - These were little zucchini balls, lightly fried and served on top of tzatziki. These were tasty, but with all the other food we got, I would skip these next time, so I could save my appetite for everything else. Lamb Shank - So tender and delsprouts. Would highly recommend! Filet - Cooked perfectly with a unique and delicious spice blend! Would also highly recommend! Crispy Brussels - These were good, but a little sweet for our taste. They are served on a pomegranate type sauce. Cooked well, but not what we were looking for, as we prefer a more savory brussel sprout. Creamy Lemon potatoes - These are very lemony, so pack quite a punch, but I loved them! Food was great, service was wonderful, and the ambiance was very nice. Read all the other 5-star reviews. I agree with all of them. I would like to single out our servers, JASON and MICHAEL. Absolutely the best restaurant servers we've had over two trips to Vegas, spanning 8 days. Both were highly knowledgeable about every dish on the menu, and were highly attentive to our table. Others servers were, too, but Jason and Michael were the ones who came by most often. Mandalay Bay does not get a lot of foot traffic, being at the very end of The Strip and not close to other hotels/casinos. Orla was a highlight of the entire Strip. read more

Celebrated my aunt's birthday in Vegas and had dinner here. Beautiful but dimly lit restaurant with great service. It's a nice place to splurge while in Vegas or for a special date night! The "bread, spreads and pickles" ($4/person) was a great start to the meal. I opted for the chargrilled branzino which was served with steamed greens and topped with a lemon vinaigrette. She also offered us some bread to start with our meal, but it was just the bread service they have on their menu which comes at a cost which was not mentioned when she mentioned it to us. In a sea of sameness, Orla delivers a wonderfully different cuisine on the Las Vegas Strip. Harkening to his Egyptian roots, celebrity chef Michael Mina's newest concept hits the mark with Mediterranean dishes that are wonderfully flavorful and prepared. The menu opens with selections of cold and hot mezzes, includes grains and pastas, and emphasizes its seafood and charcoal grilled meats larger plates. Bread service is rolled out on a cart with three different types -- including toast with tumeric and house made pita bread -- along with a trio of accompaniments (baba ganoush, olive oil with spices, tzatziki). All of the dishes we tried had great high points... * Charcoal Grilled Octopus - Wonderfully tender. Mashed fava beans had loads of flavor. Cherry tomatoes were flavor bombs! * Salt-Baked Sea Bream - Beautifully presented, filleted table side. Delicate and light with a sea salt finish, served with olive oil, capers and finely sliced squash. * Creamy Lemon Potatoes - Tasty and bright, well seasoned. * Roasted Baby Eggplant - Roasted to umami flavor, almost mushroom like texture and earthiness. * Baklava - Served warm. Nicely balanced pistachio, walnut and honey flavor. One of the most notable things served was actually not on their menu... their house chili oil. It was so utterly addictive that we were basically dousing everything on the table with it. For drinks, we ordered a glass of Royal Tokaji 5 Puttonyos dessert wine (always good) and the Rio Spritz, which was really lovely - fruity, sweet, super clean finish (not cloying at all) - and a large portion! They have an extensive wine list/binder, so wine connoisseurs will likely have their pick of options. The one downside to the meal was the service level started to decline as the restaurant got busy. There was quite the delay for after-dinner hot tea (we finished dessert without it arriving), so they were generous with comping it... but our server got so busy that we didn't see him after midway through dinner. All of the staff were incredible, so not sure if the restaurant is still working through operations and coverage during its first week of opening. We had an early dinner reservation, so we were finishing when the bulk of the restaurant was seated. However, the table next to us was on the verge of walking out when we left around 7:30 pm. Overall, the culinary experience here was fantastic. From the friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff to the delicious food, this is an establishment that I'm looking forward to revisiting in the near future. read more

Probably the best salmon I've had in Vegas and I've had salmon from the finest places. This was cooked perfectly. Crispy outside, soft inside, full of flavor. It tasted expensive. It tasted like it was made by someone who knows exactly what they're doing. Everything else on the table was fantastic. The appetizers were bold, the entrees were strong, even the side dishes were top tier. Very high-level food. Presentation was beautiful. Not sloppy. Not thrown together like some places. This looked like art and tasted even better. The room has style. Very classy. Music at the right level. Lighting just right. You don't have to squint. You don't feel rushed. It's a power room. The kind of place you bring people to impress them. You sit down and feel like a deal might get made. That's what I like. Now the service. Let's talk about it. It was fine. Not great. Not terrible. But for a place with food this strong, it needs to be sharper. Things took too long. Some confusion with the order. Had to ask more than once for a couple things. Nice people, but it didn't match the quality coming out of the kitchen. You can have the best chef in the world but if the service is off, it shows. Still giving it four stars. Because the food carries it. Big time. And I'll be back. Ronnie Rump doesn't forget a salmon like that. Just clean up the service and this place becomes one of the best in Vegas. Very strong showing. Our experience at Orla was absolutely lovely -- truly one of those dinners that stays with you long after you leave. We ended up canceling a reservation at another restaurant just so we could sit at the bar with Arthur -- and it was the best decision we made all night. Arthur took incredible care of us. His recommendations were perfection. The fried cheese appetizer was beyond words -- crispy, warm, and unbelievably delicious. The lamb lollipops were cooked beautifully, and the lobster pasta dish was rich, flavorful, and unforgettable. Every suggestion he made was spot on. Jenna, the manager, also came over to check on us and was so warm and gracious. You can tell the hospitality at Orla starts from the top and flows through the entire team. Arthur's kindness was beyond measure. Sitting at the bar felt special because of him -- he didn't just serve us dinner, he created an experience. I'm a big fan of Mediterranean so was looking forward to dining here but it was quite disappointing. I'm pretty sure our server forgot to put our order in as it took over an hour to get our food. I had ordered a Greek salad and when the food was finally served a plate of fries was put in front of me so there was additional wait while the order was corrected and the salad made. I also had the pan fried cheese which is fun in that they light it on fire table side, but there was so much grease in the dish it sloshed as the plate was placed on the table and made the cheese inedible. read more

My 1st experience was amazing, including the food -- Great for seafood lovers!!! I'd say the caviar fateer, hamachi (if they made it like my 1st visit), Branzino fish were a must! However, I can't say the same for my 2nd visit with the same food items done off -- shrimp was burnt, the hamachi looked like it was cut in half, octopus was overcooked. For a large restroom space, the toilet space is really stuffy, smelled, no ventilation and was nonstop running/broken during my second visit. Almost everything below was customized for a dairy allergy eater. Thanks!! $86 for 1oz Royal Caviar Fateer. Got 2oz each. They were able to make one dairy free. They were nice enough to make 1oz regular and 1oz diary free version. $28 Hamachi Crudo. GF says to ask for less salt. Second visit: Half the size and overly oily. Hamachi was so tiny. They had to add extra to accommodate for the issue. $28 Charcoal Grilled Octopus. Second visit: Overcooked. $29 Kataifi Wrapped Prawns. Ours came with no wrap due to dairy allergy. Many times they will only come wrapped because it's already prepped that way. Second visit: Burnt. They remade it unburnt for my GF. $48 Chargrilled Whole Branzino fish. Was suggested the Salt Baked Sea Beam fish if we liked the Branzino. But stuck to my friend's normal favorites. $19 Niro's Ghost cocktail. Tasty and not too sweet. Not for me since I like less sweet or tangy drinks. It was too light in taste for me. $29 Hummus was light and great! I'm not hummus expert. I just enjoy the light hummus, and definitely loved their olive oil with it. My first time trying this during my 2nd visit. Apparently my GF's mom loves it too. Staff were nice and accommodated if pushed. My gf visits regularly multiple times a week. So she knows when something is off. And I totally can visually see it when revisiting my old photos. Amazing ambiance, excellent food. Recommend looking at the menu in advance as it has more concise offerings, so ensure everyone in your party has something they like. Service was incredible, all waiters knew the menu extensively and explained each item as it came out. Wine pairing was excellent as well. The octopus, spicy duck, and baked fish were incredible. Breads, spreads and pickles- vibrant vegetables with delicious tzaziki and tasty bread. Hummus with foie gras- hummus was light but still rich and foie gras was nutty and buttery. Pita was hearty and delicious. Melon and halloumi- melons were juicy with a delicious sauce. Plated beautifully. Appreciated that the parts of fruit used were ripe and didn't contain parts of the rind. Halloumi was hard and dry. I ate one cube but didn't eat the rest, but I ate all of the melons trying to soak up all of the sauce. Fries were the big disappointment especially for $16. Thick, dense, and dry with no crispy outer layer. They were more like potato wedges but still too hard. I ate one bite but didn't bother with the rest. Good seasoning though. Husband's bass was under-seasoned but the mandolin potatoes were overly salty. The saffron rice had nice, musky, lightly sweet taste. Service was good- nice and attentive but had a casual vibe for how elegant the atmosphere was. Overall a nice experience but a few misses. Breads, spreads and pickles really stood out. read more
