We originally met with a big box store for a complete kitchen makeover, but the rep there only had small 4x4" samples--hardly enough size to feel confident about such an important choice. The big box rep also didn't explain key details like thickness options, polish finishes, or how the flow and pattern of quartz can minimize seams in a large space. Eric, on the other hand, was a true professional. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and suggested we visit Cambria's showroom in Elk Grove Village. When we arrived at the Cambria showroom, rep Jaclyn Cornwall walked us through the store full slabs and showed us the different polish finishes side by side. By the time we left the showroom, we were completely confident in our quartz choice--color name, finish, and thickness. Jaclyn sent us to the Elk Grove Village Daltile showroom to pick out backsplash tiles, which we then brought back to Cambria to compare with the slabs. Seeing the slab and the tile together gave us 100% certainty. Before moving forward, we had requested quotes from several companies, but we kept coming back to Surface Solutions. Trust is important when making a big investment, and we trusted Eric and Samantha. They came through big time. Pricing was fair, turnaround was quick, and from the day we paid until installation, it was only 30 days. The install crew was excellent--removing our old countertops without damaging the cabinets and quickly installing the new quartz and sink (purchased through Surface Solutions). Everything looks fantastic, and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the result. We'll be sharing photos once the backsplash tile is installed and the cabinets are refaced, but for now, we can say with confidence: Surface Solutions is a company we'd recommend without hesitation.

We hired them to finish our basement and upgrade our…read morestairwell and they did a terrible job. among other things, they framed a doorway but left 8" shims on the inside which support it, they trimmed a stairwell but it's not level nor did they finish a bottom edge, the baseboards don't meet at the corners/edges, a scuttle doorway was finished on the outside sans door knobs but it's all raw edged drywall on the inside, they hung doors but didn't provide door knobs, etc., etc. In addition, they didn't come prepared and had no idea what was going on when they got here. If I had more energy and time, I should have sued them. Instead I'm writing this post so you don't make the same mistake we did. But after many unanswered emails and phone calls to them, we became frustrated and decided to look for another company. I did a Yelp search and sent messages to 5 different businesses. Dejan was the first person to respond (7 minutes after I sent the initial message - talk about responsive!!!) I can confidently say that DK Stone's prices are the best in the market after comparing them amongst the other 4 competitors. The best part is that everyone else had told me that I would need to buy at least 2 slabs for the dimensions of our countertop. I asked Dejan how many slabs we would need and he said ONE SLAB for both island countertop and stovetop countertop!! He was able to calculate a configuration that would get everything done with minimal waste - this was huge in terms of cost. He had his guys come out to measure 5 days later and the counter tops were installed a couple of weeks after that. Everything was perfect, they were so efficient. Okay so now you have an idea of their work but what about service? Someone had accidentally taken our garbage disposal ring when they were cleaning up after the job so we couldn't get the disposal installed - we reached out to Dejan and he had someone drop it off. He could have easily ghosted us since the job was done but he was still just as responsive. We seriously cannot recommend DK Stone enough - we are so impressed and after being let down by so many other companies this was the breath of fresh air we needed.
