I've been coming to Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery for years, going all the way back to when I was a student at Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University. It was always one of my go-to spots during college, so it felt right bringing my family here recently to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Just like I remembered, everything was on point. The food was great, the drinks were solid, and the atmosphere had that same lively, welcoming vibe that made it such a staple for students and locals. It's the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and actually enjoy the moment with the people you're with. What really stood out this time was the service. We went to lunch here because we were going to Bass Pro Shop and it is right next door. I live craft beer so I chose it without looking at the reviews. The food is good. The hubs had the firecracker shrimp, which are large shrimp. Way better than the smaller bang bang shrimp you get at other places. I had a seasonal appetizer, the blackened bloody mary shrimp. It was just the right amount for lunch and no need for a to go box. The beers were good too. I tried two 4 ounce pours, the IPA and the red. The red was my favorite. Our server was good too, no complaints. As we were leaving, it was starting to pick up inside so I think we got there at a good time. After we left Bass Pro Shop we could see a car show had set up around the restaurant and in the courtyard in the middle of all the restaurants so I am sure it can get busy inside. read more

Located directly across for Daytona International Speedway this restaurant offers a wide variety of items that should satisfy all patrons. I can't say much for the decor, pretty basic bar atmosphere with several TVs throughout, it appears as though they have a rooftop bar, I am unsure of the operating hours for that though. The food was decent, I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, it was hot and moist but did have yellow cheese, I prefer white cheeses on my Philly such as provolone or Swiss, but that is just a personal preference. Came in around noon for lunch on father's day to a fairly empty restaurant. We let the bartender who sat us at a booth inside the dining area know that we had reservations to which he replied "that's ok". Less than average food, slow service and limited beer selections. We were hoping for more despite the other average reviews. Restaurant and brewery per the name. For a restaurant the food was below average. Started by asking about the brew selections, a stout would be nice. No, no stouts. Ok, kind of a limited brew menu on the table. So, nothing jumped out from the menu so ordered a Yuengling and asked for a sample of their Red Ale. Out came the Yuengling ($6.25) but no red ale. Wanted to sample the red ale before the Yuengling. Asked later about the forgotten red red ale and waitress admitted to forgetting it and brought a sample in a small shot glass. Later, noticed another beer menu on the wall with some different brews we would probably have got a flight of but too late for us. Next we ordered a small Caesar salad ($7) which had too much dressing. Ugh! Waitress recommended their burgers and something called "Chicken Fried Chicken." Cheeseburger with fries ($17.50) was just average and the Chicken Fried Chicken " was lacking in sauce. By the time the waitress came back so we could ask for more sauce the burger was about done and the chicken was half eaten. No one stopped by to ask how things were and neither did the waitress so that's too bad. The chicken fried chicken was left half eaten on the table and the waitress didn't bother to ask if we wanted to take the leftovers to go. I guess she knew the answer. We remarked, to ourselves, that the plates were hotter than the food, I guess that that tells you something in and of itself. Later, on the way home, we figured out maybe it's more of a tourist destination, even though we live in Daytona Beach, and maybe that's why the food, service and brewery selections are subpar. Place is in a great location. We walked over from our hotel. Only con was the fact that we didn't get greeted right away. Once we were at table our server was really nice and gave good recommendations. I had the Tito's spritz it was good but could have used more Prosecco topper. We tried a burger, the onion rings, the Caesar salad the mozzarella sticks and the spin dip. All were tasty and hot. I did have to ask for the wonton chips for the dip but that's all that was wrong. I really tried to like this Rock Bottom brewery in Daytona. Can't put my finger on exactly what it is about it, but it's just okay. I have been to the Rock Bottom in downtown Chicago on the red line. This location in Daytona Florida does not compare. In fact, because I have been to the Chicago location, I was expecting more and keep leaving this location disappointed. So to start, the service here is good and they have a decent selection of beers. Something for just about anyone's palet: IPA, Belgian, Pilsen, Lager and even brown ale. The beers are okay, they taste like what they should. Just not wowed by any of them. I do like the one and done Belgian tripel. The food here is okay as well. Have had a pizza here which is good. Also the fried pickles, which were also good. Still though, this gives a commercial touristy chain restaurant vibe, and not a brewery. Pluses are the beer is decent, plenty of tvs for sporting events, lot of space both booths, high tables and the bar. There is also an upstairs and lower level. Although not my favorite, still decent beer at tourist prices, average $8-$10 per beer. read more

So we got a guy named Kevin, who sucked! He was awful. Stunk bad like cigarettes, pants were sagging. Extremely slow. Did everything so slow. Brought everything so slow. The other young waitress(not our first waitress) was on top of her tables. She brought their food out. Our waiter literally had someone bring him our food me then he brought us our food. He was not attentive. My husband had no refill for a LONG time multiple times. Shrimp batter was very soggy & doughy. Sliders 2/5 stars. Fruit, better than melon. Relaxed ambiance - think sports bar type restaurant. But, the food was really good and well presented! My bunny ordered a burger, and it was cooked perfectly. It was tasty. It was lean and quite good. I ordered a steak salad. So many times I've ordered this dish and the steak has either been almost raw or overcooked. Not at rock bottom - the steak was cooked perfectly, the greens were fresh, no brown on them, the salad dressing was fresh and homemade it was not bottled, and it was amazing! I ordered a glass of red wine - the pour was a generous 9oz pour and was really good - you could taste that the wine was fresh and had not been opened and recorked. First of all the service was great. We had Josh as our waiter and he was very attentive. We got the deviled eggs for an appraiser. The flavor was quiet good and the littl peppers gave them a nice kick. My husband got the chicken fried chicken. It was massive. I can only assume that it was actually from a pterodactyl. We recently moved to Daytona Beach and were super excited to have a location here. We're from the West Coast and had been to Rock Bottom on the other side of the country with fond memories from our past. We arrived right before dinner time at maybe 4:30 pm and were seated by the person that ended up being our server. He was pleasant and did a good job. We tried a couple beers and settled on an IPA and Pilsner. I can't remember the names but they weren't great but decent. The food soon came out in waves as we ordered an appetizer. The food was also just ok but nothing special. The ambience was light and bright but the roof top was unfortunately closed so we couldn't sit up there. I would give it 3.5 stars as nothing was good or bad. It really just had the old school chain feel which isn't fun at all. We were seated right away. Got a beer and then ordered our dinners. The beer came out quickly. Food was served shortly after that. But no utensils. Took a few minutes to wave our waitress down. Very disappointed. Per the waiter, they didn't have hard cider, I should have asked specifically for Angry Orchard because most restaurant bars have at least that. My husband and I both ordered the bourbon blue burger and specifically requested them to be cooked medium rare. My husband's arrived medium well and mine was well done. We switched burgers but it was so tasteless that I couldn't eat it. The waiter asked if we wanted to have them remade but we had an appointment and didn't have time to wait. He didn't offer to take it off the bill so we ended up paying for a meal that was inedible. Zach the bartender. So above & beyond & attentive it's unreal. He truly seems to enjoy being there & has a great work ethic. It's like you're friends. Doesn't skip a beat. Goes way above & beyond to help us decide what to get for food as well as what to try beer wise to find what we would like. It was our first time here. He seemed very willing & not bothered at all. In fact he offered for us to try the Mexican Porter without the lime first then with the lime just to see the difference. He even went out of his way to let us try the bourbon sauce first before we ordered the bleu bourbon cheeseburger with this sauce. He recommended it & it did not disappoint at all. Well done Chef on nailing the perfect temperature. That seems to be hit or miss lately either under or over when I've been out and about. Beer wise-We tried the Italian Porter, smooth and not hoppy no don't like hoppy beers. Came in at 5%ABV. The Bottoms Up, lightest beer they had at 4.5% ABV and the Mexican Porter at 5%ABV. all very smooth & easy to drink. We then met the new DM from A1A Ale Works by the way he was transferred here. Same company. Nice to know. Sad to see A1A go. We loved it there. He was also nice & was doing various chores like taking plates & dusting by the front door. Very clean place. Food was alright, service was alright (aside from the horrible hostess/manager) and ambiance was alright. We came here on a whim after searching for vegan options near the speedway. We didn't necessarily want to drive anywhere and ended up wrangling some friends together to grab an early dinner for the race. When I looked it up, I liked the options and liked the fact that it's not just another restaurant that we have back home (although, after eating here, I realized it is quite a big chain). I was with a group of 7 and walked inside with one of my girlfriends to get a table. The hostess/manager was so increasingly RUDE! She was an overweight blonde woman, who's name I didn't catch (or even care to). When we asked for a table for 7 outside she said it would be 45 mins to an hour. So I was confused because there was literally no one seated outside. She rudely repeated to me with a nasty attitude, "yeah, 45 minutes to an hour). We didn't have time to wait so the rest of our friends just decided to go somewhere else. We ended up staying because my husband went back in and spoke to a different hostess. We were seated right away and the rude woman had returned to the hostess stand so I asked how all of a sudden there were plenty of tables and again, with an attitude, she said well because you're a party of 3 now. Well, I will tell you, as we sat down, there were plenty of tables available around us that could have seated 7. I'm not sure what the issue was but there was definitely business lost because of poor management. Anyways, our server was much more friendly, just a little slow. We both ended up ordering bowls and the food came out quickly so we were able to eat and make the walk back to the speedway for the race, just in time. There was live music when we were there and the acoustics were definitely off but it was still cool to hear some live covers as well. We tried Rock Bottom on a random weekday when I had taken my son and his friend to Bass Pro Shops. The restaurant was not busy, but we were ok with that. We were also not there for the beer, although there seemed to be a nice variety. I order the chicken tenders and waffle fries with ranch and honey mustard (some days, you just want to be basic), and they each got the Southwestern chicken sandwich, one with bacon, one without. They wanted to critique their meals like they've seen on TikTok and had the best time "reviewing" their lunches. Both loved the waffle fries, and gave 9/10. One rated the sandwich an 8.5/10 while the other a 9.5/10 (that one will give top marks to anything what avocado, so he might have been biased) My meal was huge and yummy. I had to bring home more than half. The chicken was pounded flat, so it was extra crispy. I also loved the seasoning of the light breading. Went for a work lunch with another employee. The place seemed dead while we were there. The building is multi-story with a large terrace upstairs. Downstairs, there's a large bar and booth seating. The vibes remind me or a BJ's brew house. They brew and sell their own beer, and if I'm not mistaken - they do not offer any alternatives other than their beer selection. Was a bit bummed that they didn't have any NA offerings other than water, tea, or soda. The menu seemed a bit slim in terms of other similar establishments I've visited. Nothing really stood out to me at the time, so I just went with wings. They were really tasty, but some of the larger more meaty drumsticks could've been cooked a bit longer. I came here Sunday November 27, 2022 after 3:00pm. A tall male bartender was working. We ordered food and drinks to-go so we could sit out on the turf by the splash pad and let our toddler run around and release some energy FOOD: - this place get 1 start for the food. I love the fries - ordered the sliders with no cheese. I don't eat dairy. What came on the sliders? Dang cheese!!! When I looked at the ticket the bartender didn't put "no cheese" after I said it twice. Like WTF - calamari: sucked. Super dry, crackly, over breaded and probably the worst I've ever had - French Fries: it came in this tiny container with like 7-8 fries in it. I told the bartend more fries needed to come with this order, especially for $5. He went and grabbed another and agreed it was small, but if I wouldn't have said anything he was going to let me go off with it wrapped in a to-go container and bag. I've order fries from here before and it came in. A larger container with more. Such a jip and a joke. SERVICE: - ordered a cucumber margarita but asked the bartender to please not use orange juice and to leave it out because I'm allergic. - so what he do? He added orange juice. I had an allergic reaction to the orange juice with my throat tightening up, fuzzy tongue, felt like crap and developed 4 enormous cancor (spelling) sores in my mouth. - he just didn't listen to anything of my order and 4 days later I'm still having a reaction to the orange juice he put in my drink. - this is the 2nd time I've come here and this bartender was working and both times he seemed overwhelmed and not able to properly take an order without messing it up. The burger was great and well worth the visit. The salad was terrible, basically a hunk of iceburg and a few veggies sprinkled. The beer was standard but standard fare for Floridian beers. Floridians tend to have terrible palattes and need very sharp biting flavors in their beer. I like a more nuanced balanced beer but the American IPA was ok. I could go to five stars but the salad and beer hold me back. If one or the other could be better I could have gone for a 5 on the burger alone read more

Upon arrival there appeared to be a good amount of seats available but we opted for outside since it wasn't too humid or sunny. We did wait about 15 minutes for someone to get our drink orders and ended up ordering everything else at the same time. The watermelon mule was not bad but there was not a lot to it. We also got the chip and dip trio which had great salsa and guacamole. We had the Mediterranean pesto with salmon which was overwhelmed by the pesto. If there was pesto on the side or a fourth of what was given it would have been much better- in my opinion. Salmon was cooked very well, however. So nice, we went back twice... In one week! It's Florida, so there's a story. The first time we ended up here, was not by choice. Our group was going to have drinks and eat at the Blue Flame Bar at the Daytona Hotel. Soon after we got to the Blue Flame, the bartender took our order... THEN QUIT! Yes, he walked out at 7 p.m. Out the door! That left the Blue Flame as a bar without a bartender so our group took a stroll out of the hotel and the closest restaurant was... Rock Bottom. We had a large party of about 20 people and Rock Bottom was able to seat us on a weeknight without issue. The restaurant was about 75% full but only had three servers. We put in our drink orders which finally came out, then wondered if our food was going to take a long time since it looked like they were thin staffed. Boy were we wrong! Maybe they only had 2 or 3 servers, but they must've had five people cooking in the back. Everyone in our party had our food within 30 minutes. The included appetizers coming out first and main dishes coming out after. Rock Bottom has their ish together! Nachos - These are a must get if you have a few people. The come splayed out on a huge flat board with tri-colored chips, melted cheese, pico de gallo, black beans, jalepenos, salsa and for a couple of bucks more you can get guacamole. Get the guacamole! With or without extra meat, these chips are awesome. Beer Batter Pretzel Bites - Whut the whut??? A big old soft pretzel, dipped in batter and fried? Something you might find at a county fair is right here for the tasting. I don't know if I love them more than a normal pretzel with cheese dip, but fried pretzel bites with cheese or mustard dip are pretty darn good. The frying makes the pretzel inside much softer. Interesting and good to eat. Give it a try if you're curious, I like them. Philly Cheesesteak - Shaved Sirloin, two cheeses, green peppers and grilled onions, they surprised me and this was super tasty. I loved the little burnt edges of the meat. It said it would be paired with waffle fries but they gave me regular fries instead which worked out because waffle fries are my favorite cut. I would order this again. Fish and Chips - Beer battered fish and chips always sound so good, until you get the fried fish and find out the breading/batter on the outside is soft. It made for a limp fish and chips and no one wants a limp cod and chips. I would not get this again. They have a full bar and they do have their house beers. There are tons of TVs all around. We were so impressed with their service that we ended up back here three days later and they delivered once again. I can see them being really busy on the weekends if there's an event at the Daytona Speedway since this is located in the One Daytona shopping area, but the plaza does have free parking which is nice. read more

Boy where do I start. Honestly one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant in a very long time. This used to be my go to burger place before Covid, but unfortunately I won't be going back here; I've given this place multiple tries since then and it just doesn't lived up to the hype anymore. It took us over an hour to receive our food when all we ordered was chicken tenders and a couple of burgers, and somehow the table behind us that ordered after us received their food first. The waitress's dumb reply was that "different stations in the kitchen are way behind than some of the others." After taking 30 minutes to get our appetizer of fried pickles, they were undercooked as you could taste the gooey batter when you bite into it. My girlfriend had gotten the chicken tenders and you could tell it had been sitting in the window for a very long time as the ranch when it came out was burning your tongue hot; like at least put the ranch on the plate when you serve the food. My father and I had gotten the burgers and they were cooked perfectly, nice and juicy like a burger should be but it wasn't seasoned at all; it had no flavor which was disappointing. And lastly, the side of Brussels Sprouts that I ordered was probably the worst Brussel Sprouts I've ever had, as it was so over cooked it was like eating Brussel mash and the sauce that it was in was way too sweet. Two beers and an appetizer of nachos were almost $40 (that's before tipping). That would have been fine if their $18.50 nachos were worth the price. Most of the chips didn't have anything on them so it was just overpriced chips and salsa. Then we noticed a huge chunk of spices sitting under one of the chips, I've been to dive bars with better food. The atmosphere is nice and that's probably why they think they can get away with charging what they do. The service wasn't great either. I received my beer before the nachos arrived and the person I was with didn't until we were almost done. The server did apologize but who wants to go through their whole appetizer without a drink? We originally went there for lunch but after that we decided on just getting the check and leaving. We won't be back. read more
