Best Scooter ever!!! I scooted several miles every day from my hotel to the White House, U.S. Capitol Building, and all 16 Smithsonian Museums!!! When the museums closed, I would scoot to dinner then back to my hotel. I never once had to stop and charge. The scooter can go as fast if you want. As I scooted along, I left pedestrians in the dust!!! In DC there is a "ramp" to scoot off and on sidewalks to cross every street. The lights are synchronized, so if you are going in the same direction you don't ever have to stop. I normally take Uber when I travel. Taking a scooter gave me the flexibility to stop and take pictures, buy food from street vendors, etc whenever I wanted. 3 weeks ago I was hospitalized for a diabetes related leg infection. I am supposed to keep my leg elevated. I did not want to cancel my trip to DC, so I rented a mobility scooter. Not only was I able to keep my leg elevated, I saved a ton of money on Uber!!! I was in museums from 10am-7pm every day, so even if I was not having a problem with my leg I would have loved to rent a scooter just so I would not have to be standing all day. People with leg problems, etc kept approaching me in the museums and asking me for the contact information for the scooter company. The scooter company owner Jose is very nice. His website is pretty plain so at first I was hesitant. However, unlike other companies he rents 4-wheel scooters, which is what I wanted. I am plus size and wanted something sturdy. I rented a 4-wheel Victory 10. Other rental companies only offer 3-wheelers. Orthopaedic Mobility Rentals rents both 3 and 4 wheelers. 3-wheelers can be taken apart, so you can take an Uber or taxi. If my life depended on it, I would never be able to figure out how to disassemble and then reassemble a scooter. So I did not care that I was renting a sturdier scooter that does not come apart. (To repeat - Orthopaedic Mobility Rentals rents both 3 and 4 wheelers). Only once during my trip to DC did I go somewhere far enough away that I needed to leave the scooter behind and take an Uber. Jorge told me I could order an Uber and scroll down to "WAV - Wheelchair Accessible Rides" but I never tried it. The scooter was pretty heavy so I'm thinking the car would have to have a lift. As for logistics......Jorge dropped the scooter off at my hotel before I arrived. This is standard - all of the hotels are used to the scooter companies dropping off and picking up scooters when the hotel guest is or is not present. During my 9-day trip I got caught in the rain twice. Jorge had left some large white garbage bags in the pouch behind the driver's seat. The instructions said to cover the steering panel in case of rain. Jorge called me the first time it rain to make sure I understood the instructions. Very helpful as I was not sure if it was ok to ride in the rain. Turns out you can! As long as the entire front panel is covered. I rode in the rain back to my hotel and it was glorious! read more

If not for Orthopaedic Mobility Rental, my sister and I would not have been able to make the trip to DC with my 11 year old granddaughter. I have back problems anyway but after the trip was scheduled I had an MRI of both back and knee. Back is worse and torn meniscus in the knee. Didn't want to disappoint granddaughter so started researching mobility scooters. We had rented them in Orlando for our stay in Disney World and they were great. We were familiar with them and knew what we wanted...the smaller Go Go Scooter just because it's easier to get around. Jorge was great in delivering them the day before we arrived at our hotel fully charged. When something went wrong with one of them at the beginning, he answered the phone immediately and talked us through it. The streets in DC can be bumpy and sometimes the scooter will stop. After talking to him we knew how to fix the problem. Considering how much we used them and how far we went the battery held up very well. He was skeptical they would do what we wanted but our time with a similar scooter at Disney let us know we would be fine. TIP: Charge the scooter anytime you get a chance. Also, it was so easy to use the Metro with the scooters and allowed us to travel even further. Jorge picked them up at the hotel after we left them at the front desk. He just made it SO easy!! We were planning a trip to DC which entails a lot of walking so I wanted an electric scooter. After doing a search I choose to call Orthopedic Mobility Rental due to the many excellent reviews they received. I spoke to Jorge, asked several questions and then received his advice. I originally wanted a four wheel scooter as I was familiar with them and used one at Disney. Jorge advised a three wheeler. Asking why and he said I would have more mobility and turning ability with it especially on the metro and in the crowds. Sure enough, he was right. When I arrived at the hotel it was waiting for me, ready to go . One small thing, but important to me, was it came with a charger AND a plastic bag to cover the controls in case it rained (which it didn't). That was not the case in Disney -- we had to go from store to store till someone was willing to give us a bag once the rain started . I also had a small but usable basket on the front. I just left the scooter at the front desk every night and they charged it up for me. Upon leaving, they took care of it until Jorge could pick it up at no extra charge even though it was the fourth day. I was very satisfied and would rent again from them on my next trip to DC. read more

I recently got married on a cruise ship and I was so worried about my Grandma being able to attend, as she has limited mobility. When I contacted the cruise ship they indicated that they only had a limited amount of wheelchairs available and they couldn't guarantee that she could keep their wheelchair the entire time that she was onboard to attend the wedding. We decided to rent her a wheelchair, so I contacted Orthopaedic Mobility Rentals only a few days before my wedding and spoke with Jorge who immediately replied and worked with me to coordinate the delivery and pickup for the wheelchair rental. Jorge is amazing and stayed in constant contact with me through email and text (which I love for the ease factor)! Not only did Jorge work with my Grandma's schedule for drop off, he even took the time to show my Grandma how to open and close the wheelchair and he texted me a video he made to make sure that everything went smooth for the day of the wedding! With vacation planned a year ago to Washington DC in July with my family, I came up with a lower back condition in March and PT didn't make my pain go away. In early July I was planning on canceling my trip but my daughter suggested I looked into a mobile scooter and even gave me the Web Address of Orthopedic Mobility Rental. I'm confined to a manual wheelchair and was visiting DC recently. Hoping to be more mobile in the city, I decided to rent a scooter for the 1st time. I found this business online and what prompted me to call Orthopaedic Mobility Rentals was the fact it was a 24 hour business. I figured if I had an issue, someone would pick up the phone. Well, there was no issue. My experience was excellent. I spoke to Jorge on the telephone prior to my trip. He was very professional, accommodating, immediately understood my situation and what would work for my needs. Upon arrival to my hotel, the scooter was waiting for me. It was everything I needed & more. Being tall & a good size man, the scooter fit me perfectly. I had no difficulty transferring from my wheelchair to the scooter and off I went. We clocked approximately 8-9 miles each day & never ran out of power. In fact, I had to slow down so my friends & wife could keep up. What wonderful service at a very reasonable price! I couldn't recommend Jorge more highly. My son sprained his ankle, and our insurance company wouldn't pay for the crutches the doctor's office tried to sell us. They would only cover a rental. Being relatively new to the area, I had no idea where to go on a Saturday to get crutches to rent. My husband found Orthopaedic Mobility Rentals after searching online; the information on the website said they would deliver on a Saturday, and the price was very reasonable. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical that we would be able to get the crutches delivered on such short notice, but I did as the website said and sent Jorge a text. Within minutes he responded and said he would be at our home in a few hours. He followed up with another text just before he arrived. I want to honor Jorge and his team for making my trip to Washington with my 91-year-old mom a dream-come-true! Having the wheelchair delivered to our downtown hotel ready for us when we arrived was the game-changer we needed in order to get to everywhere we wanted to go in a restful, timely fashion, which otherwise would have been so limiting and tiring if she had had to use just her walker. We were able to enjoy Thanksgiving with family and take a "family heritage tour" around greater DC with ease because the wheelchair was light, easy to fold and fit into the various Ubers, taxis and a rented SUV we used to get around town. The convenience of not having to pick it up at a medical supply store was one less extra complication, for which we were truly grateful. We were extremely satisfied with our entire experience. Jorge is knowledgeable and professional. The service truly is 24 hour. We needed to arrange for the equipment rental late evening. Response via text was within 5 minutes. Jorge delivered the scooter on time early the next morning. He gave advice on what kind of equipment we should rent and fitted the participant, making sure he was comfortable operating. He gave trustworthy information and I felt he really wanted the best for his customer. Delivery and pick up were seamless. We had to leave the equipment at our hotel before going to the airport and the hotel texted us later that morning that the scooter had been picked up. We rented a scooter for my 87 year old father. On a previous trip to Washington we got to see very little because the other company's scooter kept breaking down. So I was apprehensive about renting again. I saw the reviews on yelp about Orthopedic Mobility Rental and called to make a reservation. I cannot say thank you enough times!!! We walked 25 miles in two days with the scooter and got to see EVERYTHING we wanted to see from monuments to memorials to congress to Arlington Cemetery and the scooter never went below the first green light each day! I was amazed. Jorge was on top of everything. He dropped the scooter at the hotel the night before our rental so we could familiarize ourselves with it and picked it up at the hotel after we left. My family was visiting DC and on our first day we realized my father needed a wheelchair to be able to get around to see all the monuments and museums. We looked at different companies online that day but they were either closed or only accommodating if staying at hotels. I found this small business through Google and was able to fill out an online rental form and contact them by text message and they responded almost immediately and had an electronic invoice to be able to pay online which was very convenient. It was already after 6pm on a Saturday and they went out of their way to meet up at the store front to let us rent a wheelchair for the next day. This small business went above and beyond to let us rent a wheelchair so we would be able to enjoy our time in DC. If you need any mobility assistance you need to reach out to this small business. I would give this company and Jorge more than 5 stars if allowed! Had last minute surgery on my foot and unfortunately had no time to review companies to get a knee scooter. The first company I went with charged by the month and I had to pick it up. My doc extended my non-weight bearing by 2 weeks and this company refused to refund me the unused 2 weeks. Something to do with insurance but I was self-pay. So I returned the scooter and found Jorge. Way better prices, able to charge weekly, and, most importantly, came to my house to deliver it and picked it up when I was done!! Without some atrocious delivery fee. Brought a couple of scooters for me to try too. A nice guy who is genuinely concerned for all of us patients! If I ever have to be non-weight bearing again, this is the company I will call.
