Dumbfounded by how bad this place was. First, it was extremely loud. They had a waitress serving a table of 14 and a couple other tables. She could not keep up. She kept a couple waiting to pay behind us for at least 15 minutes. Totally forgot my drink for 10 minutes until my wife tracked her down. It had just been sitting on the bar. Finally get our food, (we ordered it with our drinks and it still took forever) and it was burned AND cold. I've literally never experienced that. The jambalaya was actually good. The shrimp was like cardboard it was so overcooked. The chicken was dry and burned. The burger was burned (lucky my 8 year old didn't complain). We also ordered a kid's steak and it was burnt on the outside and cold on the inside. I didn't know that was possible. We definitely won't be going back. We were definitely hoping for better since it's so close to our house, but I'd avoid this one for food. Go for the drinks and watch some football and you might be fine. read more

We came here from out of town after a lacrosse tournament. After a quick search on yelp, this place came up so we thought we'd give it a shot. Oscar's did not disappoint, we are a family of five and we were all sampling each other's food, everything we ordered was so good! Great service and cool atmosphere. We will definitely be back! Oscar's Alehouse East is a bit tucked back from the road. Be aware that some GPS directions will have you go into the shopping center adjacent to the actual parking lot driveway. The first time we came here we were unaware they closed at 9pm and there was a bit too long of a wait and it would have cut it close. However, we came back the following week and we were able to enjoy the Ace Pineapple Cider as well as the salmon sandwich and the BBQ burger. Both were VERY good. I think the salmon sandwich could have had less bread for the quantity of salmon. The BBQ burger was stacked high and was incredibly filling. I ended up taking half home and eating it deconstructed the next day. The fries are fresh - though could be a BIT more crispy (just me being picky). In the same visit we tried the Tex-Mex Eggrolls (they aren't really eggrolls - it's more of a pastry shell) but they were really tasty! Finally, we had the crab dip - delicious! I like that you get chips AND bread with the dip. On a subsequent visit we tried the hummus (tasty) - and repeated the BBQ burger. We will be returning as regulars. I am giving this a 3 ONLY because my boyfriend and I are so divided on our lunch today. So we (Tim and I) went to Oscar's for late lunch lunch. We have 2 very different opinions. HE hated it. The French Onion Soup was not boiling hot (he prefers his food HOT), wasn't very dark, and lacked flavor. His Reuben corn beef was very tough and the thousand island dressing had no taste. His fries were cold (it was very chilly where we were seated anyway) and limp. The first glass of ice tea was so pale it was like tinted water. No taste at all. (Someone should have remade it long before we got there) I LOVED it! My tuna appetizer was just ok. It was refrigerater cold, and probably a few days old. I won't order it again. The fire grilled shrimp and applewood smoked bacon club was delicious!! I mean really good! I didn't get any pesto flavor but I don't care. It was really good anyway. Their onion rings are the only thing we agree on. They are amazingly good!! (They are breaded and cooked to order.) Our waitress, Vanessa, remade the tea and the second round was way better! I rarely have dessert but their homemade blueberry cobbler was speaking to me and I liked it. It was full of flavor, not overly sweet, and not overly gelatinous like some fruit pies are. Tim liked the blueberry part but not the cobbler topping bc it had oats in it (we think). If it didn't have oats in it, and was just a flour, butter, sugar topping, it would have been a grand slam. Our waitress, Vanessa, was fantastic and friendly. She was patient with my questions and knowledgeable. I would like to go back. He says no way. So I will be going by myself I guess! No biggie. :) One other thing. It was Hella expensive for lunch. With tip, we spent over $70.00. read more

A few big things made me not like this place: 1) The kids meal drinks just come in big glass cups with no lid. (Which of course led to entire glass of spilt milk in minutes) 2) My blackbean burger was supposed to come with feta, tomatoes, red onion, grilled peppers etc. I get a burger with NOTHING on it. no lettuce, sauce or anything. just bun and blackbean burger. I ask about the toppings and they say it is all mixed into the burger. It sucked and was dry. 3) The other burgers we ordered also had no toppings or sauces. We had to flag down the waiter to ask for ketchup for the fries. 4) The pizza is literally "Tony's" pizza warmed up. It is BAD. The burger buns were fancy but the actual burgers were bland, not terrible but not even close to what I would expect for a 11 dollar burger. Service was okay but you start to feel like a jerk having to ask for all the things that should come standard. And, we never got our waters, asked twice for them and gave up. Bottom line: middle of the road beer selection, really bad food. And just a note: the suggested tips on the checks is the wrong amount. The 20% is closer to 25% and the 18% is almost 20%. They try to scam you on the way out the door as well. read more

OK, so I stop by Oscar's from time to time for the ... Gumbo. Yes, the GUMBO. It happens to be the BEST thing on the menu, and I quit going when they took it off the menu. And it happens to be on the way home, and they have good beer on tap, most of the time (I like porters, stouts, barrel aged, ie real beer). This time, and this review, is more about the service. It was a Monday, and they were busy ($9 Burgers), and looked to be understaffed on the floor. The food was ok, but the service, the service was AWSOME! I was VERY thankful. She was able to get my kid her pizza quickly, my gumbo was actually hot, wife's burger was correct (no mayo), my grouper sandwich was a bit over cooked, but still good. But is was the little things our waitress ("B") did that made the difference that evening. She checked on the table, EVERY time food was delivered. She made sure the kid had ketchup for her fries, my soup was hot, mayo was on the side for my sandwich, pre-bussed the table, refilled the drinks WITHOUT asking. brought the check, with a to go container and waited for 3 sec to take the payment. While she covered 4 or 5 other tables. She did a great job, and I made sure she knew it, and her mangers knew it as well. That is to say I over tipped, and told the mangers, and would (will) do again. She was running, hard, for the hour and half we were there. And something tells me, she did not stop until the shift was done, and doors were locked. Thank you! read more

We tried this place on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. In general, it is mediocre. We had a burger and the salmon sandwich. Both with onion rings. The salmon sandwiches was good but the burger and rings were average. Service was pretty good and we didn't wait long but the crowd was light being in the middle of the afternoon. The overall atmosphere of this place basically revolves around the bar and the place needs a refresh. I wouldn't consider this a family type restaurant for kids. read more

We were excited to check out this new Oscar's location after enjoying the one in Eldersburg. We all enjoyed our meals, including a cheeseburger and a grouper sandwich and kids meals. Our meals took a little longer to come out but we figured it was due to just opening this week. I was also impressed with the beer selection. We will be back! Good addition to the area. read more

Our first visit since it was "Cheeseburger in Paradise". The atmosphere and decor was the same, it seemed the only change was the sign out front. The menu looked fabulous with a wide variety. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel and the old bay pickles for appetizers. Neither was anything to write home about...just very average. My husband ordered a bowl of cream of crab. The soup came out and it was orange in color. I had never seen anything like it. There was definitely too much sherry and it made the soup almost bitter. I'm still confused about the orange color, but it didn't note that female crabs were used or that it was "she crab" soup which could account for the color . He ended up sending it back and getting the French onion soup which looked beautiful. He said it was ok and left it at that. I ordered the Eldersburger and their patties are definitely fresh made and cooked to temperature very well. The presentation was kinda sad, although the taste was pretty good. The service was great and that's probably what saved a star ! Overall, I don't think I'd be willing to take another chance to try out other things on the menu. read more

Been there twice since the pandemic and have really enjoyed this place. Both time the food was awesome (Cajun Burger then Rueben), the beer selection large and diverse, service excellent and the ambiance excellent. Also they provide a military discount. I forgot this building existed after living across the street for the last 3 years in Pasadena. First time coming since cheeseburger in paradise left! Wow so amazing. The best food, everything was beautiful, hot and fresh. Our server, Kara, was so sweet. Although she couldn't suggest drinks since she is under age, she was a delight, very attentive and helpful. I came with 2 of my girlfriends for lunch and we had a great time. I typically take pics of food and love to leave reviews however, we were so hungry and excited we ate it immediately. We ordered the Tex mex egg rolls and omg those were sooooo good. The rum punch, vodka lemonade, and wild berry smash were so refreshing and great! I ordered a burger which may have been the best burger I've had in a while. My two friends got the turkey club and a buffalo chicken sandwich and all were amazing! We plan to return today for lunch with our significant others after bringing them home our left overs they were jealous. We hope to have Kara again! read more

food. waited over half hour for food after ordering. 3 in our party, 2 ordered the same and the third a burger. Thinking this situation through ,,someone may have noticed the burger was part of the order so set the other 2 meals aside till burger was ready. Server did not give us a heads up about a delay. Server said': onion rings coming out of cooker right now. another 10 minutes food arrived. onion rings were tepid in temp and obviously had been cooked much much earlier. Have eaten here before and liked the onion rings. the sandwiches had been sitting around all that time so the bottom piece of bread was soaked wet from sauerkraut. talked to manager- offered to redo meal. Said no we'd been there too long already . manager said I'll make good on the meal. After speaking to manager we waited over 10 minutes to get "bill " not sure what manager was going to do. Manager did not charge for sandwich but did bill us for soup and drink! In lobby, leaving restaurant the manager was there, I observed him turning his back to us so as not to acknowledge us. Great food and great service. There were four of us and we all really liked our meals. Two got the meatloaf sandwich which was phenomenal, one got the California salad that was really good and had a great dressing. Our fourth got the blue cheese burger and it was great also. I was in the area and found this place with the help of Yelp*. It was a very good find and had a nice bar with folks properly spaced out for the pandemic. They have a good selection of beer and a nice selection of different things on their menu as well. I tried the calamari, the BBQ burger, and the Cuban sandwich afl of which were good. The atmosphere was fun, the restaurant was clean, and the service was very friendly. I would definitely come back if I was in the area. read more

Slow service and food wasn't brought out at the same time to our table of five. The first time we had food from here it was delicious. That could've been that we hadn't eaten almost all day and we were starving. That food was also delivered to our house. We decided to bring our family. My husband and I had to repeatedly ask for our beers. It was almost as if the waitress forgot about our table. All of my family except for my son had received our food and had eaten almost all of it. Been to this place twice now. Great burgers grilled on a wood fire so nice and smoky. Their roast beef sandwich is to die for. The selection of beer is outstanding; served cold. Head up, the draft beer prices are HIGH. The crab cake sandwich was underwhelming- it's served on a brioche roll which makes the overall flavor too sweet. Fish and chips are amazing; not british style but super crispy and not oily. Will definitely return. read more

Great food and service. Our bartender/server Nicole was fantastic. She made great recommendations for beer (yummy brown sugar ale And an IPA) and menu selections. I special ordered the California salad and removed all the ingredients that weren't vegetables. It arrived perfectly prepared. Kudos to Nicole and the kitchen. My Partner ordered a rare burger with crispy fries and it was also fantastic. We stopped by on our bikes from the trail and would do so again. Thank you, Nicole! Decided to go to Oscar's at the last minute on a Monday to grab a bite for dinner. Ordered online for take out, order would be ready in 25 minutes as per online. Arrived a bit early and noticed that they were extremely busy on a Monday. My order was coming out of the kitchen moments later, perfect timing. I got home within 5 minutes and the French fries on both orders were barely warm, wasn't happy with that. I also noticed the Cole slaw missing, guess the busy dinner crowd was the cause of this. My ribs were so tender, it was falling off the bone, just the way I like it. The turkey & avocado club sandwich hit the spot, fresh and tasty. Not going back. We had been once before just after COVID was over and liked it. However, tonight our experience sucked, absolutely and completely sucked. It took fffooorrreeevvveeerrr to get food. Out appetizers took 30 minutes and out entrees took even longer. Our waitress threw the kitchen staff under the the bus and said they were new and slow. Maybe they were because the food was also not cooked to order. Medium rare burgers were well done. Salmon over cooked and fishy. Fish and chips bland. The only redeeming part of the meal was the calamari app, which while taksty was served cold because it sat somewhere during part of the the 30 minute experience that was part of it making it to our table. Seldom do we leave any where as disappointed as we left this place tonight. Management please read this ... your kitchen staff has to better. The place was empty (may now I know why). There is no excuse for bad food taking that long to make it to a table. read more

It was my husband's and I first time visiting this spot and we were definitely impressed! The staff was very friendly & the food was delicious! We were amazed at how good the crab dip was & per my husband, this place knew the perfect dip to dip pairing ratio, since other places give you less dip & more bread or too much dip & less bread. (Which you get bread AND tortilla chips here). After going to town on our appetizer & feeling like we had already ate an entree, our actual entrees came. While he wasn't too crazy about the pasta, it was still good in his opinion & I ended up getting the burger of the week, which tasted great. The meat was juicy & it was just a great sized burger overall. Drinks were great as well & they have a great selection! Would go back again! read more
