Hush puppies - the hush puppies were good but the sauce it came with was super weird
    Vivian H.

I'm not out this way often but did give this place a try. Staff were friendly and helpful here. This is a seafood place and they have lots on offer, if you like fried foods. I tried to avoid an all fried meal, so had their broiled cod, steamed veggies plate. I didn't want the seafood pasta salad and substituted with hush puppies (oh well so much for not wanting anything fried). The broiled cod was pretty terrible, rubbery and overcooked and tasteless. I really had to try and finish all of my meal. The steamed veggies felt like they were frozen and just steamed up. Hush puppies were solid but then again you can't go wrong with the taste of fried, right? They have a soda fountain here and seltzer water and lemons available. Place was clean and bathrooms were fine. Also, had an outside patio space too. Sadly, I really wanted to like this place, but everything was pretty lackluster here minus the excellent service. I doubt I'll be coming back here, unless I may want some hush puppies...

I love their daily specials my favorite is the fish taco which I chose cod broiled. I can't visit this place without having clam chowder. The place is inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I've been here before but forgotten the name, so it had been a minute since I was back. Service is okay, no issues, it seems like a place with a lot of regulars. Vibes are pretty chill, "fishing boat" themed decor, fitting with the name. The food was pretty good. I was craving fish and chips, but not regular fish and chips, "good" fish and chips. The 2 piece fish and chips comes with a hearty portion of shoestring fries. They aren't anything special but they weren't bad at all. The fish is definitely the star. The batter is nice, it doesn't just get soggy when you add malt vinegar. It was crisp, cooked nicely and the fish tasted better than I remembered. You can choose different types of fish, I just went for the cod because that's what I was craving. It also comes with coleslaw and I like the coleslaw here a lot. It's not overly sweet, not too "soupy". Yum. I definitely will be back, and I can't wait to try the calamari. They have different specials too, don't forget to try those!

This is a place you order your food at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. It wasn't busy, so we were waited on right away and easily found a table. We just wanted water to drink with our meal. There is a self serve water dispenser with plastic cups. The three of us all took a taste, and immediately we all said, it tasted bad. The water tasted fishy! It also had that old refrigerator smell. We decided we would eat our meal without water. My sister and I both got the salmon and we both thought the salmon was dry, overcooked, and very fishy. It left a bad aftertaste in our mouths. The large serving of vegetables were good, and the side serving of pasta was just ok. We also tried the clam chowder, it was very thick and pasty and was more like a gravy than a soup. The staff were friendly and the place was very casual but clean. Unfortunately, we all were very disappointed in the food and will not be returning any time soon.

    (2) Cod Sliders Topped with Coleslaw & Pickles, Served with House Fries

I stopped in at Oscar's Pier 83 for a quick lunch after running errands in Glendale because it had such high ratings and reviews on Yelp. I'm glad this spot popped up on Yelp because I wouldn't have found it otherwise and it's a charming little fish and chip shop that's great for a nice lunch or dinner. It's clean and warm inside with very friendly staff. I decided to get the cod slider special Because I didn't need anything too big for lunch. It comes as (2) Cod Sliders topped with Coleslaw & Pickles, with lots of House Fries & a cup of tartar sauce. The fish was delicious with a crispy breading and a soft interior. The grease tasted nice and clean. All around very good fish. I'd like to come back and try the fish and chips, and also the wild mahi sandwich, when I have a bigger appetite. There's table seating surrounding the kitchen and counter in a U-shape, and patio seating on one side of the restaurant. There is a small bar with high chair seating as well. There are several TVs that play Fox News with the sound on. Men's and women's restroom available for customers. A large, private parking lot is shared with other businesses, with parking spots available directly in front of the shop.

The seafood pasta salad. Other places have been put on notice. Plumb shrimp, crab, creamy, cold and delicious.

The food itself is fresh as can be. The fish flaky, the shrimp plump, the tacos filled to the brim. But what really separates is the friendly and helpful staff. Specifically Carrie (I hope I spelled that right). Have a party for the 4th and decided would see if could order catering size of Oscar's amazing seafood salad for a side. She immediately hopped on with the owner who didn't have the large quantities but instead of saying sorry no go offered the 24/32oz bowl sizes. Didn't stop there. Was ready to pack it up and bowl the salad and send me on my way but that wasn't enough. She went in the back to check the freshness of (made date). She kindly mentioned it was made prior and while still fresh offered if I could wait until today (4th) would have a brand new batch ready for me for the days offering. Immediately jumped at the chance. I already opened one and started digging in as it really is amazing but she went above and beyond. Her demeanor. Her politeness. Sweetness. She's an absolute gem and the restaurant is lucky to have her at the helm. Thank you to Carrie and to the owner for running such a great team with a premium offering and very competitively priced on top of it all. I truly appreciate you for helping make our party a success and more so how sweet and caring you are to ensure satisfaction. You have a customer for life.

Thanks Mo. for leading me to Oscar's!! I have been a few times for pickup now and it's consistently amazing food and service! The broiled salmon plate is what brought me here. The seafood salad is the most amazing pasta salad I've ever had in life!! Ugh it's so good and filled generously with shrimp, crab, scallops, so good!! The broiled salmon is cooked and seasoned to perfection and the veggies are so good! The catfish filet and fried shrimps are huge portions and quality food. The customer service has been so friendly as well. I'll be back soon for another delicious meal!

Came in on a Sunday and the place was pretty empty (not for long). We were greeted by a super nice lady that helped us through the menu (we wanted to try everything). The place was very clean and had a nice casual vibe to it, with NO fish smell whatsoever! We ordered the All you can eat Catfish, (2) Fried Shrimp meals, Calamari appetizer, cup of Clam Chowder and hush puppies. The fish was FANTASTIC-not fishy tasting- and had the perfect crisp to it. Clam Chowder was great and the Calamari was not chewy - all was perfectly cooked! The shrimps were HUGE and meaty, not just breading! Next time we have a fish craving, Oscar's will be our first choice!!!

    3piece tilapia special
    Brian N.

First time here. Was craving fish and chips and saw there was an all you can eat option on fridays. Showed up and there was a big line. Only two registers taking orders. Order at the counter then they bring your food to the table. WELL... there is an all you can eat fish and chips but everyday EXCEPT Friday!! lol just my luck!! Well ordered the 3 piece tilapia plate. The fish was deep fried in batter. Tasted a little fishy but decent. The tartar sauce was pretty bland. The fries were salty but the coleslaw was good. Overall it was pretty average. More like a fast food meal than a sit down type dinner. I probably won't come back unless I'm in the neighborhood and definitely not a a Friday!

    Kimberly T.

Oscars is the best!! Been going here for years!! Their fish and chips is delicious and the fries are always so crisp!!! Clam chowder is famous for a reason -- and I don't even like clams lol. Try it!! It will be your newest addiction!!

Great food, very fresh & friendly service. Not sure about cost since I was treated to dinner but this little mom & pop restaurant was clean, comfy & the menu is huge!

    Suzy S.

Oscar's Pier 83 is really good. The food is fresh and exactly what would be expected with a fish and chips place. We ordered the two piece cod fish and chips and the one piece cod plus four jumbo shrimp combo meal. We also took a piece of catfish and a side of seafood pasta salad to go. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is casual dining. You order at a counter and the food is brought out to your table when ready. There's self service of drinks and condiments. We really enjoyed our dinner here and were excited to find a casual seafood restaurant that isn't overly expensive. We'll definitely be back when in the mood for seafood.

Will the new owners maintain the same quality? I found the oysters to be over breaded on my last visit. Still good though.

We strive to be consistent and our staff work on putting the best quality of food out each and every time. Our apologies if your oysters had more breading than normal. Please…

Does Oscar's have a kids menu?

No. But they have burgers or chicken tenders if your kids do not like seafood.

Do you offer an all you can eat Friday fish fry? If so what type of fish?

We do not offer AYCE on friday, however we offer AYCE Tilapia every other day of the week and on Sundays we do AYCE Catfish and Tilapia. $18.95

Is the fish farm raised or wild caught?

COD, MAHI MAHI, HADDOCK Is wild. Salmon is Canadian Organic Farmed in flowing rivers. Tilapia and Catfish is Farmed

Can you source Wahoo? You had it once and it's my favorite.

I can get Wahoo (also known as ONO). Sign up for our text notification alerts and when it's in you be notified. Text: OP83 To: 85100

Do they have any gluten free options?

Yep. Grilled fish and steamed veggies

What gluten free options do you have?

Garden salad, grilled ahi tuna salad, shrimp Louie salad, broiled salmon salad, any of our broiled fish meals as long as you substitute the seafood pasta salad for a dinner salad or sweet potato fries

    Is this open today?

According to yelp it says it's closed today but it's usually open on Sundays with a catfish special. You may wait until 11 o'clock and try calling. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

    Do you serve lake perch?

Unfortunately Ray perch is one of the fish that is not in steady supply. We do usually bring in featured fish every week, but perch has proven difficult to source.

I think we will try it this Friday. We will let you all know how it was! What is the average cost per person?

    $10-$15 per person

I believe they have changed management recently, or in the past few years. Although the sauce remains delicious, the food quality seems to be falling, and I see that they have a few food safety violations listed on their Yelp. Well for a start Fruit De Mer, $37.95 for shrimp, crab fingers and oysters. Shrimp was OK, they weren't pealed probably so I bit into small shells few times, crab fingers was super tiny with almost no meat to little meat, little fishy, not tasty, oysters.. two big and two tiny ones. Big ones I'm guessing Louisiana oysters, small one I have no idea. I kid you not small ones looked like ones you get at cheap Chinese buffet. For how much you got the price you pay was beyond me. Definitely not worth the price for a cup. Filet mignon for $68.95 definitely was not worth the price tag also. Over all food was pretty good but not as good as last time I ate there. Service was still great which is nice. I cannot keep this place 4 starts anymore. And I used to recommend this place to everybody but not after today. That almost $38 appetizer was sad and over priced and they totally ruined my Pasta Mardi Gras. Maybe I am being too harsh but 8 people dinner with 3 appetizers, one main dishes per person, just water to drink for over $650, I just could not get over the fact that it was not worth the over all price.

A welcome breath of fresh air! Angie's did not disappoint. I heard about this place recently and…read moredecided to check it out when I was nearby for lunch. This is a drive-thru only spot with elevated, delicious and high-quality options. Angie's offers everything from salads, protein bowls, burritos, breakfast items and even lobster rolls. I ordered a protein bowl with steak. I chose broccoli, sweet potato and avocado as my three sides and creamy cilantro for a sauce. You pay where you order and pick up your food around the corner on the ledge. It was divine! Everything was cooked perfectly and it was such a convenient concept. I am so excited to try other options and share this place with everyone I know. Despite the excellent quality, the prices are still incredibly reasonable. I look forward to eating here on an at least weekly basis going forward. Thank you Angie's!

If that is what you're looking for you might find yourself to be a little disappointed. This is not that kind of a joint. (no waiters, no waitresses, no tableside service, but no high prices and ridiculous exorbitant tipping expectations either). At first using the GPS, this place was hard to find until I realize we are not looking for a sit down restaurant...it's a drive up and drive-through restaurant, it's basically made for takeout dining exclusively! Don't let that fool you though because the food at this place slaps! Lol! We had a lobster roll, a Mexican salad (served on a large flour tortilla, as a burrito!) as well as the flatbread and chicken quesadillas. They were all excellent (if you're from the East Coast, you might be disappointed by the lobster roll because it's a local interpretation of what a lobster roll would be like ) and they are among our favorite things to pick up when we want to grab food and take it back home.. The prices are very affordable! In a time when you can't touch a meal for less than somewhere between 15 and $20 this place you can feed your whole family for that even their drinks are inexpensive. They actually have a lot of locations sprinkled throughout the greater phoenix area. my experience is that some locations are a little better than others in terms of customer service and efficiency but generally speaking I like the price and I like the food no matter which location I go to but invariably some are better than others.

Also surprisingly good place to watch the World Cup games with a very lively atmosphere. We didn't wait long before our waitress came over with a big smile. She was really friendly. My hubby ordered a Guinness with that thick, creamy foam on top. The cutest part was they printed a little leprechaun right on the foam. So cute! I got the Celtic Cucumber and it was really refreshing and delicious. Not too sweet, just light and easy to drink. They also have quite a few cocktails to choose from. We ordered the pretzel, wings, crispy cod sliders, corned beef sliders, Philly cheesesteak fries, and the Shepherd's Pasty. Everything was really tasty and well balanced, nothing too sweet or too salty. Our favorite was definitely the Pasty. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the crust was flaky and so good. This was our first time here and it was such a nice surprise. Cozy spot, good food, good drinks, and friendly service. We'll definitely come back to try more.
