I'm obsessed with this Everette sushi place on evergreen way. Super fresh fish and definitely not Seattle prices. I now stop here religiously on my way back from weekends up in the Skagit valley. My new favorite sushi place! I didn't think it would be anything special due to its location but I checked the reviews and decided to give it a try (Tuesday September 19). I'm so glad I did! I love how it's decorated inside; it's nice and quiet. The sushi itself was well made; you could see each individual component within the rolls. We got a rainbow roll, a shrimp lovers roll, and an Aloha roll. My husband LOVED his aloha roll (spicy tuna topped with more tuna and jalapeño) and we both loved the shrimp lovers roll. And you can never go wrong with a rainbow roll! We ordered the chicken Yakisoba and you could smell how delicious it was going to be when it came to the table. Food was de-licious! We ordered a bunch of rolls and some appetizers, and it was all fresh, clean and awesome! The Genki Roll was the best, with the Crazy Monkey and the Karen rolls as the runner ups! This place is deserving of 5 stars for how good the food was! That said, the reason I'm leaving 4 stars is because the customer service was dismissive and rude, and far too prominent to look over in my review. So satisfying. We ordered 3 rolls (rainbow, baked lobster, and spider) and the calamari for dinner. This is my first time trying a lobster roll and i highly recommend this one! It was so flavorful, the sauces and toppings really brought the roll together in a delicious meaty lobster bite. The rainbow roll was very fresh and a great transition roll between rolls so I always order it at most sushi spots i visit and this one is by far one of the best rainbow rolls I've tried! When my order arrive to my place the sushi rice was discolored and was falling apart. I called to get a refund, but apparently they don't know how to work their own computers to issue the refund. We have been coming here regularly for years for consistently tasty and reasonably priced rolls. They seem to put lots more of the delicious sauces on their rolls than some other places in the area, which we love. The rolls are tasty and have a good amount of fish on them. Service is always polite and prompt. They also do a great job for take out, providing plenty of sauces and ginger/wasabi. They also have a great selection of rolls. For this review we ordered take out and tried some new rolls, all fresh fish rolls. We LOVED the Karen and the crazy monkey rolls! The seared tuna on the Lynnwood roll is also yummy. I just walked out of a restaurant for the first time (this one) because my boyfriend and I received absolutely no service. There were two tables that sat down after us and got service before us; one had even gotten their food. There were 6 tables: 3 were 4 tops, 3 were 2 tops and one of them was us. There were also 2 or 3 servers on the floor and the hostess was taking care of all takeout so that didn't affect the servers. We were sitting there for 25 minutes and didn't even get waters yet. I've ordered from Oshima multiple times in the past, always pick-up, and each time they've always taken significantly longer than their estimates, but tonight I witnessed the most egregious example of their poor performance. I get that restaurants are busy, it happens to people and definitely happens to restaurants, but when I called earlier today, they told me fifteen minutes. I had to wait for an hour -- four times what I was told -- before my order was done, and by then some of it was cold. I wasn't the only one who had to wait extremely long either. One of the people waiting for pickup alongside me left in frustration of waiting. Is the food in Oshima good? It's better than most places around, but not that good to the point where I would ever risk waiting another hour waiting. Updating my review to two stars on January 23, 2020 I stopped in for a to go order yesterday after leaving Boeing's credit Union across the street wanted to give them another try during lunchtime for a more affordable quick bite to eat but it was a total fail. I was greeted by the hostess walking through the door and asked about lunch specials placing a to go order and she quickly opened up the main menu and show me a little tiny small corner of one page of the menu that was for lunch? Such limited options, Basically showed me my choice of chicken teriyaki and getting four pieces of sushi tossed in on the deal I was looking for a lot more options on a lunch menu at a place open right in the middle of the day I looked at the measly options and didn't feel like paying $14 after-tax for a quick lunch bite to go so I just walked out the door. I could have sworn that I researched this a little bit and saw they had Bento box combinations that were more affordably priced but the idiot hostess that showed me what the lunch options were did not point me to any other choice so I left and I'll never be back. -______________ First visit impressions were very clean place. Very prompt friendly service. Sushi roll quality was at least par maybe slightly above average. I ordered one rainbow roll and one crazy monkey roll and a Sapporo beer ( small ) My order came to $26.19 with tax. Gave them $30 which included tip and felt that it was maybe slightly overpriced for what I got. I will try them out again at lunchtime and see if there is better value then. My two star Deduction is a combination of average quality sushi rolls and the fact the waitress never cleared my dirty dishes after I was obviously done eating and especially upon when she presented me the bill at the end and I had already stack the dirty dishes at the corner of the table which clearly indicated I was no longer eating. This may seem trivial but in such a small place when the waitress was not busy whatsoever on a Tuesday night it just seemed really lacking attention to make the customer stare at their dirty dishes for 10 minutes after completing their meal. Especially when the size of the restaurant is smaller than my living room.
