An institution in Ossining for decades. Delivery, take out, or sit down. As a guy who remembers when the place was just one small storefront before they took over the whole plaza, the good food has remained the same. You can do everything here from get a take out pizza to enjoy a dining room experience with a 3 course meal. And then, gelato in a nostalgic candystore/gelateria setting. I can't speak for the regular pizza, but the gluten free pizza (which is your basic gluten free pizza, you know about the size of a personal pizza) costs as much as a large pizza PLUS an additional charge! There's nothing like holding a person hostage that can't eat anything at your restaurant but a gluten free pizza. Shame on you!! What happened to the pizza? I grew up about 20 minutes away from Ossining and my parents would take me and my brothers to Ossining Pizzeria as a treat because the pizza was soooo good. This is actually how I found out about Ossining which is where I live now. I moved to Ossining permanently 5 years ago the pizza was still great, the past few times I have gone my pizza was either not warm enough, my order was wrong, or the taste was just off. If you're familiar with the traffic patterns and traffic lights of Ossining, you'll understand when I say that this place is poorly located. That aside, I followed the advice of a few native Ossiningers (?) and tried their "famous" buffalo chicken slice, and it really was great. Their Sicilian was really good as well; crispy and not too dense/bread-y. This will never be close to the top of my list of favorite pizza spots; however, they're pretty good and worth a second trip to...after about ten minutes of traffic and long lights, of course. read more

I haven't visited the place in really long time, perhaps about for 6-7 years? I don't think the quality has changed, the pizza could be better but still satisfactory. But with a bottle of soda and a slice of pizza for $6.45, isn't that kind of expensive? Maybe I am asking too much for Westchester, but I know there are who a lot better deals out there (even in NYC). Excellent pizza, excellent staff, with gelato right next door. The owner's always looking for ways to improve the experience- he just recently added grandma's style pizza (pizza nona)! When my brother was sick, he even made a bland grilled chicken sandwich specially for him, and because we're regulars, it was on the house. Really, genuinely good, friendly local business. It's also clean, it's got good atmosphere, and it has its own parking lot so you don't have to go into any of the church parking lots. I think they also sponsor the local highschool plays and baseball/basketball teams. They're good people. read more

I'm a non-New Yorker, but was told this would be an "authentic" NY pizza experience - I don't really have any basis for comparison, but I left extremely satisfied. While you wait for the main course, they bring you a basket of piping hot, pre-sliced baguette bread. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside - I couldn't stop eating this bread, even though I knew I'd be loading up on carbs in just a few minutes. For food, the large, half garlic, half sausage/bacon pizza was more than enough for 4 people to share. If you like garlic, GET THE GARLIC pizza. Minced garlic just took a normal cheese pizza to a whole new level with its punch of flavor. I also sampled a bit of calamari fra diavolo (spicy seafood pasta). I LOVE spicy foods, and this was the perfect amount of spice. Not so much that you're reaching for your water every bite, but just enough for a bit of a kick. Apparently you can ask for "extra garlic" on any of the pasta dishes, which is highly recommended (but that's just a group of garlic lovers talking). If you still have room after your carb feast, be sure to go to the small dessert shop next door for homemade gelato. After leaving one pizza place because they were not wearing masks behind the line, we were very happy to see all five of the men behind the counter wearing masks. Including the cooks in back. I have given this place so many chances and sad to say that their chances have run out with me. It's SO over priced for a local pizzeria/restaurant. I could understand charging as much as they do if their food was AMAZING..... But it's NOT. their penne vodka sauce is always super runny and has no real flavor. A speciality slice and even a regular slice can break your bank and some of the staff isn't always the friendliest when I've been there and I usually am just there to pick up or eat a quick slice so I can't imagine how an experience would be actually dining in their restaurant. But 9/10 don't recommend. There's some other spots in town that won't break your bank and that are just as flavorful. read more

I've been a regular here for several years and never been disappointed. The pizza slice selection is the best in the area usually having dozens of specialty pizzas on display behind the front counter. Basically typical casual Italian food with large portions at reasonable prices. The veal parmigiana and veal gypsy are probably my favorite dishes on the menu. With the amount of good pizza within a few minute drive, you'd think they'd try harder. Ossining Pizza hasn't been my go-to pizza joint for years, but my wife likes their pasta. Even that's out the window tonight. I got Lobster Ravioli ($12.95) and I added grilled chicken to it for an extra $3.95. It was just a grilled chicken breast sliced and plopped on top of my ravioli. You'd think for 17 bucks I could have had the chicken cooked into the dish, like a complete entree as opposed to an afterthought. The buffalo wings were soft, falling off the bone like a slow-cooked rib. Cool for ribs sometimes, but weak for wings. My wife didn't like her pasta either. I've had pizza from here before but I've been disappointed recently. Their pizza has gone down in quality to the point where the chicken parm pizza looked like it had no cheese. We had a big order but I must say the pizza here went from a 10 to a 3/4 at best. I won't be returning as Lucy's pizza has constantly done a good just b with their pies. I've been eating at Ossining Pizza for over 20 years. I have never been so disgusted by the way a business in Ossining is run. I have been living in Ossining my whole life and have been going to Ossining Pizzeria since before I can even remember. In recent times, I have started to become upset by the way I am treated when I go there to get food, especially by the owner, Jerry. Their prices have been skyrocketing and their attitudes towards customers is getting worse and worse. I did not have a reason to complain until tonight. I ordered a large specialty pie for pick up, and went to go pick it up. As I was leaving the store, I opened the box to take a look at the pie and realized it was smaller than the large pies that I remember. I went back into the store and asked the person behind the counter, Jerry (the owner), if it was a large pie or if there was a mistake. He told me it was a large pie, so I asked if there large pies had recently gotten smaller. He then proceeded to ask me why i'm trying to cause problems and called me a f***ing a***hole in front of the entire store. A business owner should have more respect for his business and his customers. I recommend eating at Dom and Vinnie's or Basta. They know how to treat their customers with the respect they deserve. read more

I hate this place for multiple reasons but basically long story short last year they screwed up my order and the owner had the audacity to say sorry we just closed 5 minutes ago. When I argued that my order was wrong, he goes I guess you can bring it in and we'll refund you. We have lived up the street for years and Ossining Pizza has always been our go to for pizza BUT sometimes in recent years for whatever reason it's just not good. So it can be unpredictable. A few times we have eaten in the dining area and ordered off the menu. Never have we been thrilled and frankly the experience was barely acceptable. So I am wondering why we thought it was a good idea to have dinner there again last night? Not only was the food bland and tasteless, the service was deplorable. When we asked to speak to the manager we were told he went home and then promptly given our check. My son said that this restaurant should be on Food Network's Restaurant Impossible. It's ok. Just ok. They deliver on time so it's convenient. I figured out if you tell them to leave the pizza in the oven exactly 5 minutes longer than they usually would, it comes out very good. Otherwise it's always under cooked. More than 5 minutes and it gets burned. I'm very picky about my pizza and I usually get it from Capri or Pizza Station but if I'm at this end of Ossining I'll go here. Their spaghetti with meat sauce is very good. I don't know why the heck everyone is picking on the owner in other reviews... he never bothers me! read more

Decent Shrimp Fra'Diavolo. Good pastas. Pizzas ok. Really good tomato sauce. Great prices and.....now they deliver(promptly).

This place is not good when it comes to making sandwiches. Called to place an order and was really craving a grilled chicken philly, well guess what, they can't make it because it is not one of their buttons on the cash register! Seriously!!! So settled for a regular philly cheese steak or should I say mistake? Talk about frozen meat from a box, this was the worst philly cheese steak. I am here to review the espresso and gelato, which are as good as any wonderful you would find in Rome, and BETTER than any barista in NYC. Yes, you read that right. You should take the Hudson Line train up to Ossining, order your cappuccino or espresso *in Italian* and prepare to be blown away. This is just a corner store kinda spit, with huge lottery ticket machines and huge checkers you can play on table mats. People run in and out all day for a quick slice, a scoop, an espresso. The pizza here is great. I eat here quite often. However when I come to purchase pizza I have noticed that people of other ethnicities pay for their food after they receive their food. However I must pay for my food before I receive it. The staff should have some kind of cultural sensitivity training similar to the program Starbucks is instituting nation wide.
