I liked the charming feel of this place as soon as I entered. It's colorful with so many things to look at. After noticing how large the front windows were, a friend who I was eating with said that they used to open so that you could buy produce as it used to be a small store long time ago. Brunch menu is less than a page so beware on weekends if you have a large group that may have different tastes in cuisine. Had a reservation days in advance but didn't have a set server so we barely got attended to as it was just a random rotation of staff. It's a super small spot so it was frustrating watching other tables less than a foot away get helped multiple times before we even got water because our group of servers were standing around the bar talking. Very unprofessional and overpriced for the food and service you receive. Would not recommend. read more

Ok. So the food is fabulous! I mean... go in a room and be by yourself fabulous. We had the shrimp and grits, Brussels sprouts, salmon, and the short ribs. ALL we're excellent! The salmon melted in my mouth and had a wonderful chutney type sauce that is delicious. The Brussels were also excellent! They are made with brown sugar and then topped with small pieces of bacon that is cooked to perfection. Just the right crisp and salt to balance the natural flavor of the sprouts. My son had the shrimp and grits. He did not want to the grits cake because he did not like blue cheese. The blue cheese flavor was dominant for him... he's 9, but I thought it was perfect. Also, service was excellent!!! My salmon sat on a bed of sweet potatoes that were the best we've ever had. If you're in the area, you've got it try this place. Calling all foodies! Don't be alarmed by the $$$ the brunch menu is $$ we ate for 2 with non-alcoholic drinks for less than $50 including tax and tip. My daughter and I decided to have lunch at this gem located in Covington. The decor is quirky but really pretty. Paintings on the wall and different salt and pepper shakers on every table such as Winnie the Pooh. I ordered the tomato pie which wasn't a piece but an entire little pie. Such a great spot! Amazing service, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We came for brunch on a Saturday - called in around 10:30am and got a reservation for 4 about an hour later. The inside has so many fun quirky decorations. We all really enjoyed our food. A mix of tomato soup, breakfast casserole, steak & egg burrito, and BLFGT. Can see why the tomato soup is such a hit! Stopped in for Sunday brunch. Arrived right at 10am when they opened and were glad we did! This place was bustling, and deservedly so. Had one of the best brunches I've had! I feel like many "trendy" brunch spots don't deliver on food quality, but Otto's was spectacular. We loved the breakfast casserole and the tomato soup was to die for. We were taking a road trip, and my friend suggest that we stop at Otto's for dinner before finding a place to stay for the night. He had eaten there on a previous trip, and had fond memories of both the food and the service. I'm really glad we decided to go with his suggestion - I couldn't have imagined a better meal! We shared two dishes - the Tuna Melt, and the BLFGT (Bacon, Lettuce, and Fried Green Tomato sandwich). The former was both flavorful and delicious, while the latter was a serious contender for the best damn sandwich I've had this year :-) Service was fast, friendly and efficient, portion sizes were generous, and the prices where very reasonable. This is a great little brunch spot! So far in the two times I have been I've had the tomato pie and the chicken salad. My husband had the French toast both times because he loved it so much. I really enjoyed both things I have tried and will definitely return for more of the menu! They make great mimosas in various flavors. Service is always quick and friendly. The only down side is that there is no espresso drinks but there are some coffee shops down the street in Covington so that's not a huge crisis. read more

We had reservations at noon on Sunday. We arrived at noon and were told there was no two-top table ready yet. The hostess couldn't have been nicer giving us this news, and we were happy to wait for a bit. She gave us menus to peruse while we waited in the corner of the bar. At 12:10, there was still no table, but two seats at the bar opened up and she asked if it was okay to sit at the bar. Of course it was, but I was surprised that there was still no tables when we made a reservation ahead of time. I think that brunch crowds like to sit and linger and visit with their friends, which is understandable. The place is LOUD and energetic, even at brunch. We ordered two BLFGT sandwiches, one with a side of tomato soup, one with a potato cake. The service was friendly and the meals arrived very quickly. The sandwich tasted great, but was hard to eat. The croissant is a delicate pastry to hold all the substantial ingredients inside. I ended up using a fork and knife. The soup was fabulous! The potato cake was interesting. We couldn't quite discern all that was going on, and the consistency was not what we expected. While we were enjoying our meal, a lovely woman (the manager maybe?), came out with a pancake with blueberry syrup and whipped cream and said it was complimentary because they were behind and had to put us at the bar. Otto's BLFGT was arguably the best breakfast sandwich I have ever eaten in my entire life. Marinate on that ... I had the pleasure of visiting Otto's for brunch while staying in the area. What a cute little restaurant. The storefront is small -- and actually thats where my only complaint stems from. The tables are kind of squished together in there. I understand its to maximize the amount of customers they can serve but its just a wee bit too tight for my liking. That aside, the ambiance is very relaxing and quaint. Our waitress was very nice and answered all our questions about the menu. My friend and I ordered the BLFGT (see above), the Avocado Toast, and one of their seasonal Cruffins (if a croissant and a muffin had a baby). All of our food was delightful. You have your choice of sides with all the entrees so we both ordered their tomato dill soup. It was super delicious, mildly sweet. I wish there would have been more croutons on top to cut some of the sweet but nevertheless it was gone in a matter of seconds. I hope to return for brunch again if in the area! read more

Pleasantly surprised at the food here. The fried green tomatoes, carrot salad and halibut were the favorites. I'd skip the bread pudding and shrimp and grits. A dedicated server on Saturday and rotating service on Sunday. If you don't have a reservation, I recommend arriving at open. Now the food: excellent! A small-ish brunch menu but everything done so well. The BLT with fried tomato on a croissant is outstanding. The lemon and blueberry pancakes were perfect. Avocado toast was solid. Lots of sides to choose from as well, with the potato cake being a favorite. And the fresh fruit/fruit salad was a healthy portion. Happened upon this local spot from another yelp review and it did not disappoint. Super cute location with amazing food. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese with sweet potato fries which was delicious; however, everything that came out of the kitchen had me asking "what did you order". Staff was super kind and there was a great atmosphere with fun, bright colors on the walls. Also loved the salt and pepper shaker sets that we all unique. Our daughters birthday is Christmas Eve so we thought we would give Otto's a try. The whole experience was great from the staff & the food. Eric, was on it, nice job. We started w/ the fried green tomatoes, one of the best I've ever had. For the entree I chose the fried pork chop w/ the hot slaw, oh I'll be back to have it again but I might try the shrimp & grits on my next visit. Wow! We loved everything about this restaurant. We enjoyed dinner here with our local friend when we were visiting from out of town at the end of September 2021. The service was top notch, the venue ambiance was lovely, with seating both indoor and outdoor. We chose indoor for our visit on this day. The food was delicious, the drinks were delicious, and we thought it was very reasonably priced. We've since relocated to this area and we definitely plan to go back again someday. My friend and I recently enjoyed a nice leisurely brunch at Ottos. They are following COVID guidelines and tables are very spaced out (such a cool spot, a restaurant built in an older home). Started with a classic mimosa, and the table split the fried green tomatoes appetizer. They were perfect, a nice light crisp coating and a dipping sauce. I had the crab cake hash as my entree (filling and good), and the tomato dill soup was amazing (it is on the sweeter side and I like that). Desserts were not needed at the end of the meal, but still devoured- bread pudding and bonbonerie opera cake. Service was very friendly and helpful. Would come back again! read more

This was a delightful first visit for brunch. We were able to score a reservation about an hour before:) Very cute space. Very good food. I had the crab bake. With the bistro salad. Both are really wonderful. One friend had the steak and egg burrito--that was not as flavorful as one would hope. Maybe they should add some pico, guac and salt and pepper to it.
