Food was great, but the service was piss poor! I assume because the waitress thought my wife and I weren't local, which we are, we moved into Custer 3 months ago. She was treating the known locals great but we were treated like crap. Local money and tourist money spends the same, I don't understand being rude when your job is customer service! read more

Your typical diner, not too much to brag about. But I would like to say this was the only place open for breakfast in the off season so thank you for that....otherwise it was the hotel continental breakfast that we would have had to choke down. The first thing you notice is the musty smell that you don't really get used to. Then an awkward wait as a group of disorganized waiters asked us how many were in our family one after the other. The menu looked promising, a waffle for $3.70 is ok, though a little small. The three out of the four waiters were terribly rude and would walk away in the middle of a sentence. When the waffles came, they looked weird, and smelled weird, and finally they tasted weird. As if you fried white flour, no amount of syrup could fix the taste. Very slow service. Not sure what they were doing as it wasn't that busy. It took an hour to get our food. Food was just okay.

When you walk in it smelt like smoke really bad. Ordered our food and it took forever to get it and on top of that it wasn't homemade.

Basic greasy spoon which attracts the local breakfast crowd. Lots of ball caps and hunter/ranchers. Had breakfast twice while in Custer. Generous portions. Crispy hash browns yum. We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast on our way out of Custer that would fill us up for hopefully not too much money before heading out back to California and this place met and exceeded our expectations! We loved the breakfast here. It's definitely a 'local favorite'. We were staying in Custer for our Black Hills vacation and we prefer nontouristy spots to eat if possible. The food and service were excellent and definitely a good deal. Our breakfast for three with coffee and more food than we could eat was $25 including tip. read more

My wife and I had breakfast here one morning. It was filled with locals having coffee and catching up on the gossip which we thought was great. We were seated and coffee came shortly. We ordered our breakfast which was large portions but tasty. Only three stars because of the service. Although our order was taken and came out as expected, the friendliness of our server was lacking. Can't remember if she smiled or not. Only reason for anyone to stop by our table was to splash our coffee cup. Didn't ask if everything was OK. So, alright place for breakfast but don't go looking for hospitality. read more

Right off the bat: this is a local frequented, dimly lit dive. If you are expecting a touristy theme restaurant, this is not it. However, if you like really good breakfast food served by a salty, but pleasant waitstaff in a venue full of Betty Boop and HD stuff, then this is your spot. I had the chili and cheese omelette, which came with hash browns and toast. The chili was excellent, and the cook has won a chili contest for the last four years. The hash browns were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Prices are reasonable and this was easily one of my favorite meals on our trip. read more

OK at best, really not that great, but OK. Staff were flustered as their credit card machine was not working. The place was packed, but overall it was not really too clean. When the Wrangler burnt down we weren't happy with the new replacement. We went to every place in town and found 'Our Place'!! We eat there every morning during the rally. The waitress,, she'll warm up to you just talk with her,, she'll take the time. Best breakfast in the area,, the price is right!! We really like sitting with the locals when we are there after the rally. Can't wait for our first breakfast there in a few short weeks!! read more

Excellent place for breakfast-great portions and flavor. However, as mentioned previously, the waitresses aren't the friendliest bunch and it isn't the cleanest place as our salt shaker was disgusting, but the food makes up for it. If you're a Grateful Dead or Betty Boop fan, you'll love the decor. read more

Our Place is your typical little diner that has not changed its menu or decor, with that being said they do offer your typical menu items that you would see in most diners across the US. The portions are big and will definitely increase your waistline if you are not careful. Price is very reasonable and will not kill your wallet to eat here. Upon entering you will need to seat yourself which can be demanding since it is very popular with the locals and old timers that have been coming to Black Hills for 20 plus years. Hours can vary and you should familiarize yourself with the schedule since it can change from 1 week to another. Good place to bomb the belly. read more

My son and I were just passing through Custer. It was probably one of the only places to eat on a Sunday morning. The food was ok, but I have had better! I will agree with Daniele P's review on the attitude of the waitress! Didn't smile, pretty much slammed the coffee mugs on the table as if we, the tourists were an inconvenience! The small tip that we were going to leave was given back with a response, "That isn't going to help me!" If the Bakery had been open, we would have chosen to eat there! read more
