Outback Steakhouse serves up the best steaks in Anderson. Period. Sure it's not the cheapest steakhouse in Anderson, but their signature sirloins, crisp Bloomin Onions, and fresh house salads are worth every penny. Did I mention their Sirloin is unbeatable? Did I mention their Bloomin Onion is wonderful, oniony goodness? Sure the interior might be a bit loud, but the atmosphere is great and the food makes it all worth it. Also, customer satisfaction is priority. When I was in highschool, my parents and I once ordered an Outback Steakhouse meal to-go, went to pick up our food, and came back home. However, we discovered that they had given us someone else's meal by mistake (I think it was chicken alfredo and some sort of fish), so we called and explained what happened. They told us to come back to the to-go door, where they gave us the meal we originally ordered, and let us keep the incorrect order for free. We were able to eat both meals while they were still warm (and in case you're wondering, their non-steak entrees are just as good as their steaks). read more

This place actually brought back memories of eating in the first Outback's in the early nineties in FL. The place was clean. The staff was friendly. The food was good. We went to the Anderson OBS for our granddaughter 's 10th birthday. She was so excited to choose this as her bday party place. Let me just say if I could give it 0 stars I would. It took forever to get our food and they weren't even busy! Waitress rarely checked for drink refills, my prime rib came out cold and had to send back to be warmed. One person asked for ketchup & mustard 3 times and had eaten all "6" of his fries and half his burger before he got any. 3 others said their food was cold also. If I could give a half star I would- I suspect we were the table next to Lawren D. that got up and left because we noticed the same things she did. We wanted a steak on our trip back from NC. Texas Roadhouse was packed to the gills so we started looking around and found Outback was not crowded (should have been our first clue). Very little wait time at the hostess station, got seated. Someone came and got our drink order. I asked for sweet tea and got unsweet tea. My wife overheard the table next to us complain that they had the same tea problem. We sat there for at least 20 minutes and no one came and took our order. The waitress appeared to be overworked by a large party that kept sending things back. When other tables that had been sat after us were getting orders taken and bread and salads served, we got up and left. From the earlier comments, it looks like this place has a history. read more

I don't write many reviews. I cannot for the life of me understand why this restaurant has a relatively poor review rating. The parking lot was full on a Monday night, so I took a chance. From the minute I walked in, the experience was outstanding. I wound up eating dinner at the bar. The staff was attentive, friendly and they gave great recommendations throughout the evening. The steak salad was extraordinary - both the steak and the salad - the dressing was world class and the servers were wonderful. I'm also very happy with what I paid for the whole experience. This has to be the most under rated restaurant in this town. Truthfully, I don't go to Outback often, but as a result of my experience tonight, Outback in general and this specific restaurant will see me more often. Overall bad experience and bad management in my opinion. We called before and were told there was no wait time we got to the restaurant 2 minutes later and was told a 30 minute wait time. Understandable if the restaurant was full or had many people on the wait but this was not the case. As we got seated we were immediately greeted with a bad attitude from our server. It took over an hour to get salads and then 45 minutes to get our steaks. The meal came out without several items, when asked to take off the mashed potatoes because they were not brought to our table we received attitude and the manager told her to "ring it in" anyway. The check came and the mashed potatoes were still on there. I'm not sure what is going on here whether it is low staff, or bad management but this restaurant is too expensive for fast food service. read more

Good location near I-85 at Clemson exit. The service was attentive but really, too much so. I don't need to hear the story of your weekend when you bring me my salad. Food was typical of any Outback. Semi-tough but properly cooked and edible sirloin, salad with fresh lettuce and other fixings, good baked potato. It's one of the better options for an A-OK meal at this exit. read more

I had the special steak & unlimited shrimp. The steak was good, but the shrimp was a joke. It was just like "SeaPak" frozen shrimp from the supermarket, over-cooked and not as good. Idk why I even stopped here. From experience, it's never good and I should've used my better judgement and kept on driving. Everyone was having issues. The table next to us had to send their steak back twice, both times coming out cold and completely raw. They were told there was a new kitchen manager, and he didn't heat the grill up enough. The table across from us had all of their food brought out except their little boy's plate, and they waited a good 30 more minutes for his food. Our experience was bad from the start. We waited 10+ minutes before being greeted by a server. By that time, we knew what we wanted. I ordered off of the gluten free menu, a 6 oz sirloin medium well topped with blue cheese, a baked potato with butter only, and broccoli. When my food finally got to the table (not sure how long it was, but it was quite a while), my potato had sour cream instead of butter and my steak was completely raw. Our server apologized and said steaks had been coming out undercooked all night. She took it back to the kitchen and it came out again about 10-15 minutes later, still bleeding. I told her again it was still raw. She took the steak, leaving the potato and broccoli for me to eat. They comped the steak off, but I guess decided it coming back twice was enough because I wasn't served another. Instead, she brought us out the check. We paid, but she didn't bring back the receipt that had what we were charged for. Just the receipt to sign. I'm pretty sure they literally just took the steak off, and charged me for a side of broccoli and a baked potato. When we asked for a copy of the original receipt, no one came back out, so we just left. There was another table sat next to us, waited about 20 minutes before they just decided to leave because no one had greeted them. This place is a train wreck. The server was nice, but you could tell she was very irritated, and I don't blame her. The kitchen staff needs a total do-over. Thankfully I don't live in this area so I'll never be back. We were literally here for a total of almost 2 hours. read more

I have not been to Outback in a while, but after hearing about the Aussie 4-course I knew I simply *had* to go. For roughly $16 and change you get a choice of soup, a choice of salad, steak or chicken, a side and cheesecake. Incredible deal for even more incredible food (fresh bread included, of course). The food was good, but the service was horrible! We visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with our son. It was not busy & maybe the problem was that they were understaffed for this time of the day, but the poor service ruined the meal. It took forever to get our salads & when we asked for bread we were told they were having to bake some. I had a good friend visiting from Florida and he ordered the prime rib with au jus..a sandwich that is dipped in the au jus. The prime rib was very tough and almost inedible. I had the grilled chicken salad plate and hard to go wrong with it... was very good. The bloomin' onion was good but very greasy but we ate what we could. My friend did tell the server and had the manager come to the table. She was very apologetic and took his meal off the bill. More people have mentioned the food coming from the kitchen and hopefully they will improve because they are a very nice place. read more

Met up with some out of town family and this place was chosen due to its proximity to their hotel. I am not a fan of the Outback chain because I think it is way overpriced for the quality of meat you get which I why I don't order steak there but this Outback is either way below even their standards or the new "norm" for them. Which? I can't say since this is the first time I have eaten at one in about 6 years. Service 1 out of 5 stars. The restaurant was not completely full and we were seated right away but had a healthy amount of guests. The waiter took a little longer than normal to take our orders after he brought our drinks. Then the real fun began. One of my companions ordered prime rib only to be told 5 minutes later that the prime rib was sold out. Why didn't the server know of this before? Since I do not eat their steak, I wanted to order a burger so I opted for the Blossom Burger cooked medium. I know better than to order med-rare in a place like this but medium should be no problem. The server promptly told me that the closest they can maybe get it is medium well if not well. I asked him if they just don't cook things medium and he responded with "Its a thin patty and they can't get it medium." A thin patty? For $10? I'm sorry, I thought this wasn't McDonalds -- MY BAD. So I changed my order to the chicken strips dinner which came with fries. After waiting an hour for our food (along with everyone else around us including a guy who decided to dump salt on his bread plate and eat that with his finger while he waited) and 0 check ins from the server to let us know its coming or check on drinks ... the food finally shows up. Food 1 out of 5 stars. My food shows up with no fries and one of my companion's side on my plate instead of hers. The runner said he would go get my fries. 2 out of 3 of my companions steaks were not med-rare, they were med-well. The other actually ordered it that way so ... there's a hit. Whooopie. When my fries were brought out I noticed how dark they were. But not the dark of a little well done on the fries but the dark of being fried in rancid grease that should have been changed a week ago. And they tasted even worse. I then took a bite of my chicken strips only to find out they were also equally as rancid. The baked sweet potato was burned on the bottom which of course meant 25% of the potato itself was inedible. Somewhere in the middle of this wonderful meal, the server did show up to ask if we wanted refills. One time during the entire 2 hours we were there. But then he only refilled the tea and ignored the 2 half empty glasses of water. Stay away. Just ... stay ... away. read more

This was my first and last trip to Outback Steakhouse. The hostess looked very unhappy to be working at this restaurant today. Once we got to our table and ordered, we waited for at least 45 minutes to receive three out of four of our ordered dishes. When our server noticed that we were missing an order, he told us that he would go get it, but then he moved to the table next to us and began to take their orders. The service was terrible and the food was sub-par as well. The steak quesadilla is definitely something you don't want to order, and the filet was not good at all. The service was very slow. The experience was so bad that I won't ever return to another Outback Steakhouse for a long time. read more

I never have any issues with this location. The 2 ladies that normally work curbside on the weekends are hilarious yet they are swift on their feet and get the job done effortlessly. I had lunch today. It was just a hamburger, baked potato, and steamed asparagus. The hamburger had good flavor, but was luke warm and more like medium rare to rare than the medium I requested, but I took a chance and ate it anyway. I think the waitress just didn't deliver the food promptly. The toppings, except the onion slices, were a very wilted tomato slice, very wilted lettuce and wilted cucumber slices (or were those pickles). The baked potato had puckered skin and was somewhat tough as if it had been reheated in a microwave from being baked the day before. The asparagus was tough and stringy, and not edible for me. My impression was that it had been placed in a microwave which would certainly have been a terrible idea. The waitress was pleasant, but didn't catch everything I requested a couple of times. The bill, plus tip was just under $25.00. Well, for $25.00 it should have been a lot better. This was a test run to see if Outback would be a suitable place for a simple lunch on a regular basis, but at this point I have to unfortunately say "NO!" There are plenty of other places with better food and better prices who will work harder for my business! The owner needs to have some secret customers visit at different times on different days in order to see what the real customers are experiencing. read more

Food is hit or miss! Sometimes it's good. Other times, it's horrible. But, one thing is for certain... the service is terrible. The past 3 times we've been the waiters/ waitresses have been so slow & inattentive. Our drink glasses stayed empty, we got our entrees at the same time our salads came out, & our blooming onion was cold! This past experience was the last straw. We will not be back! I stopped at this location about a week ago, 1/16/17, on a drive home from ATL to charlotte. I agree with most of the reviews, seems like whoever they have in the kitchen doesn't know how to cook a steak. Maybe it's a new cook or something? Unfortunate, cuz this is a steak house. Half the menu is steak. My BF's steak came out well done, not med. it got sent back, a new one came out a bit too rare. But got sent back once more and it came out fine. The reason I give it 4 stars is because the customer service was some of the best. Our server, Eric, was on point. Relaxed & confident, a great server. The manager on duty, I didn't catch his name, was just as great. They both saw my BF cut into his steak & called it before we even had to say anything. (We both work in serv. Industry & hate having to complain/send something back) they attended to the steak situation properly, brought him a free salad to eat while he waited, and ended up comping the steak altogether since it took a few tries. I was so impressed with the service and the food was just as good as any other outback trip. May have taken a bit longer but it was a great visit! I also thought most outback locations only opened for dinner? I was impressed to see this one was open daily for lunch as well. Also, this restaurant was super clean. Overall, I think this location has great potential & id def stop back again. Maybe just tighten up the kitchen a lil, find a couple cooks that really know how to cook a steak to the right temp. Everything was overcooked! My steak was white inside and should have been medium. The chicken was dry. My niece got a grilled cheese and it was cold and the bread was hard. It was my nephews birthday and we told our waitress. No one even said or sang happy birthday to him! Worst food ever! We will not be going back. Stopped in with my Dad (usual Clemson vs. South Carolina weekend Friday night stop). As usual, great service in the bar area. Food was good and the $8.99 unlimited shrimp was a hit with my Dad. This location is near multiple hotels so that's probably the reason it's really busy. I can tell you it's not busy due to the impeccable service. I tried this location on two separate nights and the service was so bad I left both times. I sat at the bar and went unnoticed for over 10 min both times. Not a glance from the bartenders and I finally just had to leave. Now I've worked in the service industry and I know it gets busy. At least acknowledge my presence. BTW, I did get take out and it was good. That's the reason for the two stars. read more

Horrible trip. We called ahead and we're told there was a 25 minute wait. Told is we called ahead there wouldn't be a wait. Set up a time. Arrived 4 minutes ahead of time and told them that we had called ahead. Given a buzzer. Waiting for over 30 minutes. Told that bc we arrived early it didn't "kick in" until our time, which would be fine if we didn't have to wait until 30 minutes after we called ahead!!! Was told that they were waiting on 6 tops that had been there for 2 hours!! So instead of getting to celebrate our daughters bday there we went down the street to fudruckers where the service was great and no wait. Will NEVER GO BACK. This place SUCKS!!! Service is slower than snails crossing the road!!! Will outback ever get a new general manager that knows something about customer service and managing a restaurant.
