    Still the best bread

I hadn't been here in a long time, so when I was gifted a gift card I was excited to revisit. We ended up going during late lunch / early dinner time. Unfortunately the staff was having issues with the antenna (which so conveniently happened to fail during the last game of the NBA finals) so that was a total bummer. I remember in the past the restaurant and staff used to be more lively and high energy but both were lacking. The restaurant vibe was quiet and somber, almost depressing. While our waiter was polite, he also lacked any bit of enthusiasm. I started with an order of the kookaburra wings and one of their signature cocktails, a smoked watermelon paloma. The wings were tasty and of good quality and size, but a bit too salty. The drink was also good, but with the bartender being a little heavy handed with the ice you don't get much for your buck. Unfortunately my meal was an even bigger disappointment. For starters you can tell that very little effort was put into at least making the dish look aesthetically pleasing, that or it was done hastily. I don't know whose idea it was to serve these long broccoli stalks instead of traditional florets or when they made this adjustment, but I don't like it. Nobody wants to eat these long stalks, especially when they're not even soft or steamed through. They might as well have served them raw because they were way too firm and impossible to bite through, instead they just split and splintered. For being fresh, the steak was only warm at best. This might be one of the lousiest steaks I've ever eaten. The meat wasn't lean at all with a lot of fat and grizzle throughout. Even the parts that were edible still lacked tenderness and flavor, just awful. Congratulations Outback, you can successfully bake a potato. Honestly, if I hadn't gotten a gift card here I wouldn't have came back. I remember this place used to be so good back in the day. Sadly the only thing that remains the same is the bread...

Loved their chicken Caesar salad and pasta! Also enjoyed their new lemonade drink! Glad I have finally made a trip to this place :)

You really can not go wrong at Outback Steakhouse. This is a restaurant that knows what it is and does an excellent job. Service is top-notch. Our server, Jocelyn, came by for our order. Someone brought out our drinks right away. I kinda like that all the is on the service. Yes, Jocelyn was in charge of the ordering, bill, and the main stuff, but someone else brought the entrees around, another person bussed. This is a great system. The booth was comfortable. While there was a good crowd, it was not noisy. My wife loved her wedge salad. The potato soup was excellent with bacon added to give it extra flavor. The Alice Station chicken cooked perfectly. The sauce was flavorful without being too much. And, they did an equally good job on the French Fries. If you're looking for some hearty food, served well, Outback Steakhouse is definitely a place to go.

We decided to revisit a classic after many years for my birthday lunch. 10/10! Our waiter, Juan, really took care of us. The staff all seemed great. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The food was superb. Best mozzarella sticks I've ever had! Steak was tender and delicious. Forgot to take photos of our mains due to deliciousness. Couldn't have asked for a better lunch! We'll be BACK!

Oops. Supposed to be a large Blooming Onion. The server brought us another so thank you.

What could have been. I do not hand out five stars and if there was just two details that were not missed it would've been for sure a five star experience. Instead it's 4 stars but really 3 and a half. First, no wait as we called and reserved 30 minutes ahead of time. Five stars. Server was great. Deadpan humor and quick responses. Five stars. Wish I could remember his name. Appetizer was the large Blooming Onion. We received the small. Three and a half stars. The server did bring us another fresh order to make it up. Main course. Now when I saw the picture and description of the Melbourne Porterhouse I knew that's what I wanted for my birthday steak. What I received was nothing like the picture. Missing half my medallion? Melbourne Porterhouse is supposed to be the strip and filet. My filet looks like it was filleted by a dingo. See pic. It was delicious. Like ridiculous delicious but presentation means a lot and it looked like a blind butcher cut it. Three stars. My wife ordered the coconut shrimp. Five stars. Food was delicious but the baked potato needed a little more cook time to soften it up.

Have not been to outback in awhile and was craving it so the wife and I decided to stop off and grab a late lunch. We both got the sirloin steak with baked potato and salad. I love their tangy tomato dressing and was one of the main reasons I wanted to come here. Food was fantastic as always. Steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Service was great and our server was friendly. Place was clean and cozy and will definitely come back.

We came to celebrate my birthday for dinner. We had a great time. Dinner was perfection! Our waiter Marcos was on top of everything. We do not have to wait long for our order for refills for anything. There was hardly anything we had to ask for because he took care of everything Definitely will be back again and restaurants need more waiters like that.

Everything was delicious! Steak was cooked perfectly, potato and broccoli were so good! The porterhouse was amazing! The Mac n cheese was also so so good! Our waiter, Juan, was great! Brought us refills after we had only had a few sips of our drinks. He was kind and attentive! Outback is always a good go-to!

My husband commented that it made him want to move to Bakersfield which made our server Emily laugh. Limited parking in back and some street parking. We walked in without a reservation at 11:15 on a Friday and were the first customers of the day. Great decor, dim lighting, vintage looking furniture which does not sacrifice comfort for artistry. Our cocktails and meals were spectacular: Botanist Fashioned: 5/5-the brown sugar cinnamon syrup added a spicy bite to each sip which was unexpected and fun. Watermelon Sugar High:4/5-refreshing with watermelon juice freshly made in house and an ice cube with mint frozen in it. Seared cauliflower: 4/5-great appetizer for 2. The crispy chicken sandwich and the Botanist smash burger:5/5-Both had super flavorful pickles and toasted buns which always add a lovely crunch to each bite. Last time there, I had the tuna filet because it cost less than the beef or lamb, and it was equally good, The escargot is very good too. This place has some real history and it reeks of it from the horseshoe shaped bar to the one table reserved for the in house ghost. Back in the day this location was once called The Office, so when businessmen were having a drink after a long day, they could call home and say "Hey Honey, I'm gonna be a little late, I'm still at The Office," and they wouldn't be lying. There's still the remains of an olde phone booth near the bar. I wish I could afford to eat here more often, the "Brandy Blu Filet" is melt in your mouth awesome.

There was no host stand, no greeting, and no indication of what we were supposed to do. I eventually asked the bartender about our reservation. He seemed mildly annoyed that I had interrupted whatever invisible task he was doing and told us we'd have to wait for the host. So we waited. And waited. Once seated, we ordered drinks and were served warm bread with butter knives. The problem? There was no butter. Instead, there were candles heating cups of drawn garlic butter that nobody explained. The waiter described it as a powerhouse flavor. Imagine garlic butter LaCroix. Technically present, but only as a rumor. The pacing of service was glacial. Not relaxed. Not upscale. Just slow. The entire evening felt like a social experiment where everyone involved was pretending to operate a fine dining restaurant while waiting to see if customers would notice. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which were apparently a house favorite. I sincerely hope that's no longer true. The filling was confusing enough, but someone decided to glaze them with a sweet sauce that made the entire dish taste like a dare. We took a few bites and surrendered. Then came the steaks. My fiancée ordered the filet medium rare. It arrived with the texture of warm oatmeal and was drowning beneath balsamic reduction and Gorgonzola. The steak itself was so soft and underdone it resembled a pink marshmallow more than beef. My strip steak arrived covered in gravy. Not a sauce. Gravy. To complete the experience, we both ordered baked potatoes. Because surely nobody can mess up a baked potato. We were informed that bacon and sour cream would cost an additional $2. Nothing says "premium steakhouse" quite like nickel-and-diming toppings for a baked potato. By the end of the meal, we were struggling to identify a single redeeming part of the experience. The service was slow. The food was baffling. The atmosphere felt like everyone--staff and customers alike--was participating in the same awkward experiment. Horse in the Alley desperately wants to be a fine dining destination. Unfortunately, wanting and being are two very different things. ***Our server Samantha was very sweet and even comped the stuffed mushrooms. But this was easily the worst $200 I've ever spent.

It comes with either the option of soup or salad so I chose a salad. It also comes with two sides, and I chose the rice, pilaf and steamed vegetables. Madison took my order over the phone. She is very friendly, helpful, patient and told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at exactly 20 minutes and my order was ready. She brought the food out and quickly took my payment. Easy peasy transaction. The ribeye was perfectly grilled at medium rare. It is so tender, juicy and flavorful! Major kudos to the chef!
