I have heard about this place and finally dragged my wife there for lunch. The outside is unassuming but the inside is decked out. A complete Bakersfield and country vibe. The service was fast and staff was attentive. The food came out very quickly. I had the 8 oz steak. It was nicely marbled, with a crispy crust, I could taste the dry age. Very nicely done. My wife had the strawberry chicken salad and she said it is absolutely amazing in every way. She wants to go back and try all their salads now. So we will be back! read more

Chef Lino catered our wedding in Sept and it was the "best wedding food I've ever had" as quoted by all of our guests. We had a 30 person wedding up in the mountains and had everything planned but unexpectedly had to switch caterers at the last minute. We chose Chef Lino and It was the best decision ever made. Michelle was quick to respond sending us menu options and recommendations based on our guest list Our venue was up in the mountains with no service but Chef Lino's staff made it work. The lamb lollipops were a hit and almost all of our guests had the steak. The staff was super attentive and fit right in with the chill outdoor vibe of the wedding. Food Was AMAZING and we will be back for sure! We have visited multiple times and enjoy! However the last visit our server was slow to take our order and bring our drinks! She seemed as though she was a newer server and was a bit rude the entire evening(my 2 star rating is for her). We dropped in on a whim on Saturday evening and were able to get a table without a reservation. So glad we did! We had really great service from the staff, the menu had so many interesting choices, and the items we chose did not disappoint. Arrachera con Chimichuri with asparagus and garlic parmesan fries. The chimichurri was different than I've had before, almost like the pickling you'd get on Basque tongue, but it was delicious on that steak! Chicken Piccata with sautéed spinach and mushrooms and the same fries. All delicious. Cheesecake chimichanga with ice cream, and raspberry and chocolate sauces for dessert... Cuz how do you make cheesecake even better? Deep fry it! It was a great dinner all around, and I can't wait to go back and try the Brazilian style Sunday brunch. Chef Lino's was the cater to for my son's wedding this past sat 10/21/23 The food was to be served at 6:30 pm. The chicken was served around 7pm the steaks were served at 8pm. The guests were starving and i know of 15 people that got up and left. I had over half the guest complaining that there steaks were raw and still cold. I tried to cut my steak and it was so raw that i gave up and decided to eat the vegetables instead. The sides were so cold you could not eat them. My plate consisted of a raw steak and 2 carrots as my side. i kept the steak home which i still as proof. There was a dozen or more steaks left from the guests leaving. I cut open all 15 steaks left they were all still raw. The steaks and the chicken was not fit to eat. We did not get a refund. This was a joke. The brides parents deserve 3/4 of the money back if not all it. They have yet to apologize for this dinner. read more

Bad News - with the Covid situation, Chef Lino regrets to inform us they have had to close the Panama location effective 9/4/2020. The good news is they are serving the same delicious food at the Pour House Bar & Grill on Fruitvale north of Rosedale. Additionally they are available for catering. The service was excellent. The server did everything to make sure I was taken care of. The chef's daughter was passive aggressive and rude. When I complained about spending $5 for a 3 bite salad I was told, that's how chef Lino would serve it. I said I didn't want it for free, but even Applebees offers a free house salad that has more than 1.5 cherry tomatoes and some Mexican cheese sprinkled on some iceberg lettuce. I ordered the Wellington. The onions were undercooked. It tasted fine, but when I mentioned to the server that the large chunks of onion that were undercooked overpowered everything else, the chefs daughter came over and stood with an aggressive posture and said that maybe next time I come in with a better attitude and understand that this it the way chef Lino prepares food. Paid $81.19 for a dinner for one person and was shamed by the chefs daughter. I was not asking for anything free, just expected better for an $80 meal. The taste in my mouth for the pompous behavior of a chefs daughter operating out of a dive bar was obscene. Tipped my server well, didn't expect anything free. The food tasted fine, but didn't meet the standard of a $80 per person meal. I drank 2 glasses of house wine. Will not give them my money in the future. read more

My food (crab stuffed chili rellano) might have been good if it were hot. Was just a bit warm. I bit down on a toothpick and after poking around a little, found another one still in the chili. Chef Lino's is a really great restaurant. Don't think you're going there for cheap food though. The prices are higher than the other restaurants in the area. We went for lunch and didn't really go to spend what we did. It was worth it though. The food was phenomenal. The steak sandwich satisfied my craving for steak. It was tender and the flavors were delicious. The garlic fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The jalapeño mashed potatoes that my boyfriend had was so good. I think that the decor was a little underwhelming for the price of the meal. It still looked like the bbq places that used to be in the same building. It seems like it wants to be upscale dining, but it's lacking in decor. The service was great and she met all our needs. She was very friendly and attentive. read more

WOW! First time eating at this cozy establishment and I was impressed! I ended up ordering the Marinated Cucumber salad w/Salmon. Absolutely delicious!!! It came with a cilantro lime vinaigrette dressing which is unique and very tasty. It had 3 good size chunk steaks of Salmon. My girlfriend had the Caesar Salad also topped with plenty of grilled chicken and shrimp. Can you say Amazing and both salads were KETO friendly!! First time dinner. Sunday brunch is fantastic. The service is excellent. Very nice selection of brunch items. Not a lot of random items. Everything I tried was delicious. Jalapeño mashed potatoes, asparagus salad, pasta salad, menudo, chorizo and eggs. I love Brazilian food! I am so happy that Bakersfield is getting on board and we now have a restaurant like this in town! We went for brunch on Sunday after I had seen an ad on Facebook. We wanted to try something new. The service was great. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food at the buffet was great. They had a variety of items to choose from such as salads, menudo, rice, fruit, etc. Everything was delicious and flavorful. However, my only complaint is for the price, $25, I wish there was a bit more options that could be added to the buffet and sticking to more Brazilian food and dropping Mexican dishes since it is a Brazilian food restaurant. We had dinner from Chef Lino's and it was GOOD! The macho burger was delicious and filling enough that my husband was actually full before finishing it. We shared the pork belly chicharron tacos. They are tiny (that's fine because they are appetizers) but packed with flavor. I got the Camarones Linos with jalapeno mashed potatoes and asparagus and couldn't be happier! Definitely doesnt compare to Centro 18. When u serve coffee, it should be hot and have everything that goes into a coffee available, not 10 mins after asking for it repeatedly. The meat was decent, but felt like it was lacking compared to the previous restaurant. Not very much breakfast items as cEntro either. Hopefully they can train all their employees a little better and provide more options. read more

Came here on a weekday with the family a gentleman was our waiter, we ordered the the Pork Belly tacos and I know it was just an appetizer but damn those tacos were miniature tacos, the wife had the Chile Relleno it was ok but no flavors, I had the Barbacoa which was really good. The service from the waiter was lacking, he served us our drinks but when we asked for straws he forgot while seating others and finally came back to us 5-8 mins later. When we paid our bill he left with my card and was having issues with their mobile swiping reader without letting us know but we could see him on the phone as someone was walking him through the process, overall the food was just ok but for the price here not worth it... you can go to La Cabana and have better food and service with a lower bill at the end. read more

Excellence! Picky eaters ordering takeout here and NOT disappointed. The house salads were individual prepped in containers with all the fixings separate for a build your own salad type of setting. We ordered add-ons of grilled chicken and the grilled shrimp and let me just tell you, the flavor profile on the meat is absolutely out of this world. We also ordered a salmon which was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths, along with their well-known jalapeño masher's. While the food is enough of a reason to come crawling back for more, it's the service and overall morale of this family who own and operate this restaurant that will want to make you a regular here. Idk why you would have fries as a side for the overpriced food. I had the shrimp scampi with the potatoes and spinach and mushrooms .. there were no mushrooms on my plate the mashed potatoes had potential but lacked flavor the shrimp I had about 6 shrimp on my plate the sauce was weird it wasn't shrimp scampi at all and it was overpriced 22$ for that was insane to me. I ordered the pork belly tacos and the waitress told me they were small, however, I didn't know she literally meant they were miniature. When they were brought out I had to hide my laughter at the size of them. Ridiculous. Not only that but the service was terrible, the waitress walked by our table 3-4 times before she even offered to fill up our drinks which had been sitting empty for at least 20 minutes. $10 for the miniature tacos and $12 for chips and sals I will not be back. read more
