    Chef Lino

Chef Lino catered our wedding in Sept and it was the "best wedding food I've ever had" as quoted by all of our guests. We had a 30 person wedding up in the mountains and had everything planned but unexpectedly had to switch caterers at the last minute. We chose Chef Lino and It was the best decision ever made. Michelle was quick to respond sending us menu options and recommendations based on our guest list Our venue was up in the mountains with no service but Chef Lino's staff made it work. The lamb lollipops were a hit and almost all of our guests had the steak. The staff was super attentive and fit right in with the chill outdoor vibe of the wedding. We are so thankful and grateful to have Chef Lino cater our wedding. We highly recommend him.

We dropped in on a whim on Saturday evening and were able to get a table without a reservation. So glad we did! We had really great service from the staff, the menu had so many interesting choices, and the items we chose did not disappoint. Arrachera con Chimichuri with asparagus and garlic parmesan fries. The chimichurri was different than I've had before, almost like the pickling you'd get on Basque tongue, but it was delicious on that steak! Chicken Piccata with sautéed spinach and mushrooms and the same fries. All delicious. Cheesecake chimichanga with ice cream, and raspberry and chocolate sauces for dessert... Cuz how do you make cheesecake even better? Deep fry it! It was a great dinner all around, and I can't wait to go back and try the Brazilian style Sunday brunch. If it compares to the one Chef Lino did at Centro 18, I'll be thrilled.

Chef Lino's is a really great restaurant. Don't think you're going there for cheap food though. The prices are higher than the other restaurants in the area. We went for lunch and didn't really go to spend what we did. It was worth it though. The food was phenomenal. The steak sandwich satisfied my craving for steak. It was tender and the flavors were delicious. The garlic fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The jalapeño mashed potatoes that my boyfriend had was so good. I think that the decor was a little underwhelming for the price of the meal. It still looked like the bbq places that used to be in the same building. It seems like it wants to be upscale dining, but it's lacking in decor. The service was great and she met all our needs. She was very friendly and attentive.

WOW! First time eating at this cozy establishment and I was impressed! I ended up ordering the Marinated Cucumber salad w/Salmon. Absolutely delicious!!! It came with a cilantro lime vinaigrette dressing which is unique and very tasty. It had 3 good size chunk steaks of Salmon. My girlfriend had the Caesar Salad also topped with plenty of grilled chicken and shrimp. Can you say Amazing and both salads were KETO friendly!! There were two waiter's Edwin and Michelle who provided excellent and quick customer service. My Chef was SAM but Chef LINO (owner) is the main Chef. From ust try if you are in the area!!

The chef carrying around different kind of steaks for Sunday brunch. Delicious

First time dinner. Sunday brunch is fantastic. The service is excellent. Very nice selection of brunch items. Not a lot of random items. Everything I tried was delicious. Jalapeño mashed potatoes, asparagus salad, pasta salad, menudo, chorizo and eggs. The best part is they bring Rib eye, fillet, New York and Lamb on skewers to your table randomly or upon request. $25 adults. Kids 5 and under eat free. Bottomless mimosas for $7 more. Worth every dollar.

You can't get this kind of food just anywhere in Bakersfield. They take a high standard in food and service.. from the stuffed mushrooms (sauce freshly made) to the amazing dinner choice. I had the filet Wellington that was amazing, Jalapeño mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus. With a fresh crisp Riesling wine. Still waiting on dessert. The service is superb. This is a must try and continue to return kinda restaurant. Business casual dress. Takes reservations. Don't miss out on this opportunity.

Usually the food is wonderful for these wine events. I don't know why things went awry today. But I have been to many of these events and will be back again. Everyone has the occasional hiccup. The wine was fantastic and Heidi was an entertaining and educational hostess for the winery.

Coconut Joe's is still a welcomed regular at any family gathering and a personal favorite of mine to this day. They've always had a strong burger. The huli huli burger n fries which is their pineapple burger is my favorite. For family style eating, their half pack and full packs are perfect. Their tri tip is good on its own, but with the corn, rice, and coleslaw mixed in with it is next level and the flavor always brings me back good times. The vibe inside is super fun. They fully embrace the surfer theme and have surf decorations wall to wall. Their televisions play classic surf trip movies which are fun to watch. Sometimes in the winter they will play snowboard and ski trip videos. Back in my youth, this was one of my favorite parts of the experience. I still love it, but don't get to dine in as often as I used to. They're great for take out, though I find the burger and fries are best enjoyed fresh in the restaurant.

The kids menu items are super affordable too. I ordered the fish and chips for myself, which were cooked nicely but I would have preferred a little less batter. My husband ordered the barbecue sliders. I wasn't really expecting much, but it actually came with a lot of meat and I liked that they served the sauce on the side so you could control how much you want. This place is counter service only, so don't expect anything fancy! But it was a nice option instead of something fast food or a chain that we could get back home.

It has a very industrial interior. On a busy day the cement floors and high ceilings amply sound so it can be very loud. The decor is not inviting so it's not an environment you want to hang out in long. They do have outdoor seating, but you are right on California Ave so it can be very loud as well.
