we went to the outback steakhouse in bellingham, ma on our way to a concert at greatwoods xfinity center on 7/2/24 and the food was the worst i've ever had at the place. the only positive highlight was the waitstaff which was courteous and helpful. we should have made a fuss but my wife and i don't usually confront the waiters so we don't hurt their feelings but i' am addressing the manager here. when we first started going to outback restaurants back in the 90's it was always a nice kind of destination place to eat and consistent at their different locations. this was a terrible experience and will not return and not recommend, two thumbs down. i will give the minimum one star for the waitstaff. read more

As a long time regular customer I am shocked at how much this place has gone down hill. I have had more bad experiences in the past 2 years than in the previous 15 years. Turn over has been high and it's obvious the training is lacking. Orders come out often incorrect and the staff doesn't know what seat at the bar should get the order. The bar which has traditionally been packed with regular customers is often empty. Seeing more and more regulars at restaurants in the area. Their complaints are similar, poor quality and service. On a recent trip I called over the "manager in training" and mentioned the poor service and poor quality of the steak and his response was " I am just ending my training here and moving on to another store." My husband and I have been here in the past ( Bellingham, MA Outback). I have always enjoyed our experience here. We always seat ourselves at the bar. I found today, the staff was really friendly, polite and helpful. We had chicken wings for an appetizer, which were absolutely delicious. In the 100's of times we have eaten at an Outback, we have only had two steaks that we were unhappy with. Sure, maybe a few other steaks have been cooked a little bit more done than asked for, but still tasty & edible. If anyone has a problem with their meal, let them know. I used to love outback havent been here in forever. I walked in and could tell right away it was under new managment and the place wasnt packed like it always used to be. The waitress was slow n screwed up our drinks and then forgot to bring straws for the kids. The appetizer sampler was pathetic I felt like I was in applebees a few fries and bloomin oinion strips and 6 mac and cheese balls. The grill cheese my daughter got was the sad luckily she liked it but shes 5 so shes not picky. I got the 16oz prime rib and it was tuff and alot of fat(see pic). Hmm... Well this place used to be a pretty common hangout for me, but now I'm kind of torn. It's got a nice ambiance to it. The artwork is nice and the staff is decent, but I don't know... It's not what it used to be. We arrived on a semi-busy day and were immediately seated. So there's a plus. Our waiter came by immediately, equal plus. However, he kind of disappeared between when we ordered and when we received the main course. He did bring by a fair share of refills and he called me sir, so. That's a plus. So I'll give the service 8/10. They did a decent job. The blooming onion was overed cooked. It tasted okay, but it was clearly way too crispy. My main issue was my prime rib. I order that all the time... But here it was undercooked. I order medium-rare, but that was clearly rare. Sending back prime rib never ends well, so I ate it... All I can say is that I'll be back. The Outback has always been one of the few chain restaurants I like but this was my first time at this location. As usual for a Friday night, it's packed, so call ahead and have then put your name on the list. We were seated soon after we got there because of that...otherwise the wait would have been 35 minutes. we ordered the chicken artichoke flatbread for an appetizer which was really good and not too filling or heavy. I ordered the 6 Oz outback special, medium rare and my boyfriend ordered the tilapia. It comes with a bunch of options for sides, and you get 2. Both of our meals were very good. My steak was perfect. The waitstaff was friendly and prompt. It did feel like we waited a littler long for our entrees, but drinks and apps were served almost immediately. The manager walked by asking if everything was okay and if there was anything that needed fixing etc...but it didn't. summary: the outback is one of the better chain restaurants and if you want a good but relatively inexpensive steak, come here. Ok , so it's Christmas Eve and my family and I show up at 815 and the Outback was closing at 9. I never expected to be treated so well realizing the staff was probably dying to get home to families. Cathy met us at the door and could not have been more welcoming! Our server, Tim continued to treat us well and did an excellent job! The bartender, Adam was also great! The food was delicious! I received 20 dollars of gift certificates to this place and had a craving to have a steak so I figured I might as well use them. Fat Chance. My memory had no recollection of the prices. So I being broke had to settle for the hamburger with fries. But my memory does tell me this a great place to go for a steak and potato. The burger was good but the onions that I wanted were these little, ok tiny, pieces of onion. At least i think they were onions. The fries were great though. I did check out ever other dish that past me and if they tasted and good as they looked I would give the extra star. I have to wait for my next visit. The staff was polite and attentive. I did sit at the bar so I got the charming bar maids. And then she left. So I got stuck with the one who must have been missing her trivia game at home. But no fear the two guys sitting across from me were keeping her from getting lonely. So I sat there until she was done. I did finally get to pay my bill, so that was a plus. This is one of my favorite chain restaurants, and in particular this location. I've always had friendly waitstaff, and the wait usually isn't as long as some of the others I have been to. The food is very good. I usually get the Outback Special, which is a 12 oz sirloin with just the right amount of spices. We usually try to get a 2nd loaf of bread too. My fun at OUTBACK! First let me just tell you there was a small wait and they gave me a little pager thing and we were waiting outside. Come to find out the pager did not vibrate. The guy comes out side yelling my name and i look at the pager and its like oh look its going off. I hand it to the hostess and shes like its vibrating... i simply say really? shes like "oh"..... The waiter we had Richard L was fantastic. He was on time quick and remembered almost everything. Now the meals.... The Salad was Fantastic tasty and fresh! Dinner took another 15 min to come out which we figured was OK because they were very busy. The dinner.... My wife got the chicken with unlimited shrimp i got a 6oz steak with unlimited shrimp.... The wife's chicken was supposed to be a BBQ chicken with the shrimp and they put nothing on it. The shrimp was very tasty. My Dish the steak, I have not yet figured this out and I dont think I ever will..... This steak had a outer shell of cook on it that treated the meat like a hard piece of leather. It was even hard to put a fork into it. But what i couldn't figure out the meat must have been a decent quality because it still melted in your mouth like its supposed to. Now the problems... As the wife and I ordered the unlimited shrimp we asked our waiter for more of the shrimp. It took them 20 min to come out with 7 pieces of shrimp for me and 7 for my wife. Keep in mind these are baby shrimp that really take 2 min in a fry pan or the fryer to cook. The waiter felt so bad about this he requested the manager to come over. She palyed the unlimited shrimp is hard on them because of the refills.... She also played the normal oh I'm sorry card its busy card blah... Yea ok well really If your that busy grab your dish washer teach him how to pan fry some shrimp and deep fry shrimp and have the under paid dish washer do refills for your customer. Over all this was a joke because she still charged us for both the chicken and the steak as if it was the entire meal. This place has potential because when we had gotten food it was tasty... But management needs to be replaced and someone needs to learn to escalate in the kitchen much better. read more

I am in southern Mass. on business and went here hoping to get the steak and lobster. Well, it turns out that Mass. has a law that prevents restaurants from selling lobster tails only. I am sure this is to protect their lobster industry, and this was not Outback's fault. Upon being seated, I waited just under 10 minutes before a server even acknowledged my existence, much less took a drink order. Then, there were two occaision where my glass sat empty for nearly five minutes. The food was decent, but the service made the meal a bad experience. When I dine alone, I am normally in and out of the restaurant fairly quickly. It took me nearly an hour to have my meal tonight, and the restaurant was only about 25% full. The food was mediocre and not a good value. A bright spot was the service in the dining room, while the kitchen was slow. We started off with the Wood Fired Grilled Shrimp. The two skewers of shrimp were tiny and tasteless. For dinner I had the filet mignon and lobster. It took forever. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed. The filet was a flat, thin piece of steak that was dry, overcooked, and over seasoned. The lobster tail was another tasteless item. The grilled asparagus was OK. At least the baked potato was good. My dining partner had the salad with grilled shrimp. Nothing special. Just a pile of iceburg lettuce, a few croutons, and those tiny shrimp skewers again. The restaurant was very busy. We had put our names in online and we were seated about 15 minutes after we checked in. As we were leaving at around 8pm, we were amazed by how many people were still waiting to be seated. I will probably not visit again. Perhaps just try a burger if I do. read more

We were seated almost immediately and waited at least 5 minutes before the waitress greeted us, however the waitstaff was very good. They were very busy. We ordered a bloomin' onion for an appetizer which was a little overcooked, but still enjoyable. The reason for the two stars is because my salmon was undercooked. The waitress had them fire up another one, and I was asked to cut into it and acknowledge if it was cooked properly which it was until I got to a different area, and found that it was undercooked as well. I didn't bother telling the waitress...requested check, paid, and left. Our last meal at Outback was not very good two weeks prior so we are taking a break from Outback. My family and I went out for my mother's birthday. We had an awesome experience. Our waiter Tym was absolutely amazing. With my father and myself having been in the business we are usually very hard to please. However, I am very happy to say that Outback has definitely scored an amazing waiter. My family and i will go back and specifically ask for Tym again and again. When you go definitely ask for him and you will see what I mean. Very friendly and professional. Highly recommended. I have to say, it's hard to rate this based on a hectic time but- my experience wasn't bad at all. We actually took more time ordering than it took for the food to arrive [which usually never happens] Now, like most any place - I have my standard order ready to go; today I realized after looking extensively that much of the menu has changed. New items had popped up and old items have been given a new twist. Of course one of my favorites had been changed; so I quickly made the choice to just go with it. Change is good right? Lucky for me it was this time! The Tassy Strips used to be a take on boneless buffalo wings/fingers - they come slightly crisp and already coated in their take on the sauce. [which in my opinion is amazing] They changed it to bite sized chicken pieces just like the old ones but smaller! I of course requested ranch to replace the blue cheese and piggishly ate them all. What else did I get? LOADED garlic mash! Couldn't resist pigging out on them with some ranch as well - they were garlicky; so if this is a date...maybe steer clear, unless of course the date isn't going well; in that case eat ALL the garlic mashed potatoes!! I decided to also [because who can have too many potatoes] get the Parmesan fries. They weren't bad but I'm a glutton for cheese and especially parm. So I do wish they came a little more topped than they did, but of course this just called for more ranch. All in all the service was tentative, and very accommodating to all of the ranch and such. The place was pretty empty since it was before any meal rush. Came here recently for lunch, as I haven't been to Outback in years and thought to give it a try. Outback used to be great, but I always found Bugaboo Creek superior to it. Now that Bugaboo is completely gone (RIP), Outback and LongHorn are the only options in the area for a steakhouse. I was in Bellingham and looking for a clean, delicious, relatively expensive restaurant, and Outback was the best choice. This location sits in the Crossroads Shopping Center, on Route 126 in Bellingham. While it isn't exactly in the plaza, it is accessible via both entrances: Hartford Ave & North Main Street. Just follow the signs from the Hartford Avenue entrance if you are unfamiliar with the area. Anyway, Samantha, one of the waitresses is super friendly, efficient, and goes above and beyond in overachieving at her tables. She was super helpful, and entered my party into a dine in rewards program (if you aren't signed up, and go to Outback often, it's a great program to ultimately get you every fourth dining at Outback at 50% off! For more details go to their website). From the classic Blooming Onion to the OutbackBurgers, this place has a great lunch menu that seems more broad than I can remember when I used to go to Outback in Norwood, years and years ago. Some of the sections on the current menu (don't know how often or even if they normally change it) include: forkless features, signature steak, chicken, chops and more, and signature steak sandwiches. Bread is the honey wheat that trumps all other restaurants that offer it. Can't beat the honey wheat (exactly like Bugaboo... my former favorite restaurant). Food comes out quickly and portions are large and more than satisfying for one meal. This location also seems remodeled, and better lit than I can remember in the past. Hours are convenient, and no wait at lunch time (you'll have a good portion of the restaurant to yourself): 11-11 M-Sa, 11-9 Su. 5 stars for the Bellingham Outback. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area again. One of the better options on the large retail section of Route 126. read more

I ordered takeout for my girlfriend and I tonight from here which was our first time at this outback. I ordered a steak sandwich and she ordered the toowoomba shrimp pasta and we also got the bloomin onion. I got a call 10 minutes before my order was supposed to be ready saying they didn't make that pasta dish even though it was on the online ordering site. So instead we asked for the Parmesan pasta with shrimp and mushrooms and confirmed that the food would still be ready to pick up at the same time. 20 minutes after our ready time, the food comes. The steak sandwich was fine but the pasta was just totally bland linguine with two shrimp skewers on the side and three tiny little mushrooms slices. read more
