Just a warning -- when you see those commercials advertising a special with lobster, you can't get it at this location. They also think that 3 medium shrimp are equivalent to 1 lobster tail. I haven't quite figured that one out yet... Their burgers don't disappoint though, and the blooming onion ring is sooo good. I'm also a fan of their loaded baked potatoes. The waitstaff is friendly and I've never had to wait to get in. My husband always orders steak, and I've noticed the portions seem to be getting smaller. This is the worst Outback I've ever been to. I think it might have formerly been a Japanese restaurant and wasn't remodeled to fit the Australian theme, but that's not a big deal. What is a big deal is that the food was more like Denny's than Outback. I ordered the filet with a side of crab legs. I got the runt of the crab pack and pretended to believe that the two scrawny sticks I got were the 1/2 pound side I paid for. The filet was about half as thick as every other Outback filet I've ever had, and it looked like it'd been boiled rather than grilled. Gross. My four year-old ordered mac and cheese, which she said tasted yummy, but she had to eat it off of a humongous serving spoon - no, not a pasta spoon but a serving spoon. Other diners with us had varying degrees of disappointment with their meals and the only one happy was the four year-old. We're all Outback frequent diners, so we were surprised that this particular one could even be called by that name. The waiter was very nice when he occasionally appeared and the hostesses smiley, but the food and the atmosphere were not of the usual Outback quality. read more

I went to Outback Steakhouse for the first time last night with my boyfriend and the waitstaff said it would be a 25 minute wait. That's fine and understandable, considering it was a Friday night around 7. But when I have to wait for 40 minutes and families and couples who walked in at least 20 minutes after us were getting tables then I start to get aggravated. The waiter was very nice and accommodating and the bread was very tasty however, the baked tilapia with butter sauce was very bland and to be honest, I've baked fish before and even my boyfriend agreed that I've made better. The steamed vegetables were decent, though the crab stuffing on top of the tilapia was somewhat disappointing. Not enough crab as the menu made it out to be and it tasted like they used fish stock in it. So over all? Bread: Tasty and highly recommended. Fish? Very bland and boring. Crab stuffing : Fell short of expectations. Vegetables : Decently seasoned and tender. Over all meal experience: Mediocre. Would I go back again? No. Much too expensive and overpriced for bland food and a lack-luster menu. read more

Unfortunately this restaurant had gone beyond down hill since I previously reviewed it and that makes me sad. I want to like the outback in Bellingham, I really do. But I just can't stomach it any more (literally). Last spring, about thirteen months ago I visited the outback with my parents who were up from Florida. I ordered a filet and it was alright. Certainly the portions were not what I paid for and the quality was average at best. That wasn't my problem though. My problem arose when I woke up the following morning at 3 AM and vomited VIOLENTLY. I could see the mushrooms from my filet stewing in a toilet bowl filled with stomach acids. I immediately felt an urge in my buttocks and realized the flood gates were opened and the Hoover dam was about to overflow. And then it came.... I sat down for hours until my toilet overflowed X3 and had to lean over and vomit into my bathtub. I literally had pure liquid... flammable liquid... napalm coming out both ends continuously. I ended up being rushed to the emergency room by rescue because I began vomiting blood. I thought I had a bad stomach bug. Until it happened again two days ago..... after eating ribs from the outback. I hugged the toilet for hours again and had molten lava shooting out of me like a volcano. A compete eruption of human waste. I was sitting there with a taste of acid, tangy BBQ sauce and little rib tips all coming out of me. I was miserable. The lady who lives downstairs called me to warn me that I was flushing so much that my toxins were backfiring into her kitchen and bathroom. She was crying hysterically and so was I. Step up from Bugaboo as regards a chain and expense. I've had good luck with food and service at this place. Appetizers are good - favorite is coconut jumbo shrimp, and baby back ribs for main meal. They specialize in steak but I'm not a big steak eater but the salmon is worth a try. It can get busy at weekends so we tend to go early then or during the week. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff and good place for kids. read more

I typically like Outback. Ribs were dry. Rib eye was bad. Service was bad. And the appetizer was not so good.

This is a nice establishment very clean nice art work very beautiful presentation and food was delicious and well cooked . But the bread was ice cold and dropped on my table do to a rude waiter and he was very fast and making me choose faster then I could think if service would slow down due to this gentle men it would be perfect I would go again if I did not get him read more

We came in from out of town, hungry and thirsty from a long drive. We were promptly seated. Then we waited for our server while we chose a appetizer and our meals. We waited a good amount of time after closing our menus-- no one came to take our drink order. We waited a little longer, since we were so hungry, but decided we didn't want to be served by someone that would make us wait that long to take our drink order. During our unpleasant visit, no servers even made eye contact with us. As we walked out, the host looked at us but didn't say anything. He had to know we were walking out without being served, he had just seated us 15 minutes before. We have never had this happen before, we were pretty blown away-- and not in a good way. read more

I can't believe some of these reviews. I go to Outback weekly. I have never been disappointed in the service or food. If u let the waiter know your food is overcooked, they bring u another steak pronto, even if you have eaten half of the other steak. The wait staff and bartenders are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I enjoy myself so much I have joined the Tablemates club to invite friends and family. I love this place. read more

I love outback, it's my favorite restaurant but this location is spotty. Because the location near me closed I go here sometimes. The steak is almost always good (it was over cooked once but they offered to fix it) but their bloomin onion, usually my favorite item, is just so bad here. It's always over cooked and doesn't have enough fried coating. The last straw was last visit when they had forgotten to take part of the peel off the onion and I was literally pulling the peel out of my mouth because I couldn't chew it. While the food wasn't food the service was great. Love outback, just not this location. read more

I ate the Aussie grilled chicken cobb salad on the evening of 3/7/13 . By midnight I had sharp stomach cramps, diarehha followed by non stop vomiting. The diarehha continued the next two days... horrible, horrible. I contacted Outback the next day and told the manager what had happened. They took down my name and address to report an insurance claim. They told me I would hear back within 72 hrs, still waiting. The manager offered his apologies and some gift cards, but I will never eat at another Outback again. read more

Went for my birthday. We had gone once before within the previous month and the service was very slow that night, but it did look like they were short handed. This time around, service was good. Interesting that the last 3 times we have gone, they have sat us at the same table. Bread was good as always, but I always wish I went without it to save room. I went with the 8 oz prime rib and my wife went with fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. The prime rib was the skinniest thing I had ever seen, but was still good tasting. My wife thought the fettuccine was very good. We both had a salad as part of the meal and both were good. We both sacrificed dessert, as we are usually stuffed, although the selections were tempting. All in , a good dinner, but nothing sprctacular. I would return, but there are a number of alternatives in the area. read more

My family and I were very disappointed with the waitress and the food. Our waitress seemed bothered to have to wait on us, she wasn't friendly or helpful and she neglected to tell us that everything is overseasoned with their "signature 17 spice blend", (AKA Lowrey's Seasoned Salt). Everything was oversalted even the lobster tail, baked potato, and salads! The Blooming Onion was practically inedible because it was covered in the stuff along with the dipping sauce. The manager was very kind to deduct the overseasoned dishes from our bill because the waitress couldn't be bothered to explain that their new policy was to season everything with that awful blend and she was supposed to explain it to customers when taking orders. We did appreciate the manager's deduction on our bill. So, be warned that they are heavy handed with their "signature blend" which will raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels and swell your mouth. I don't recommend this place. read more

Used to be a great restaurant. Has gone downhill quickly. Last three trips to outback were terrible. Last time ordered the salmon, I thought they gave me a children's meal but the waitress said that was the full adult meal. Totally unacceptable. Last three trips I left the restaurant hungry, the work thing that can be said about a restaurant. We used to go there once a week or more. We were greeted/seated properly. We received our entrees without getting silverware/ napkins. Received our food ex. steak was poorly cooked. When we were given the bill we gave tip to what we thought was deserved due to our poor service. When waitress picked up the bill and saw my debit card and the tip in cash she proceeded to come back to the table and asked if this is what her tip was... a tip is earned not given out. Outback has always been our go to for Steak. After a hard working weekend I was looking forward to a nice meal with my husband. Although the parking lot looked full we were seated right away. Hubby ordered the Prime Rib and I ordered the 9 oz sirloin. The waitress was prompt and friendly. Brought the bread right away and the drinks came fairly quickly. My steak when it arrived was very thin dry and I wasn't able to even cut it. Hubby ordered his Prime Rib Medium Rare. It came very rare and part of it was basically not cooked. I sent my steak back. Sadly as usually happens, by the time the steak came I was past being hungry having eaten my broccoli and most of the fries. The manager came over to make sure the steak was better ( It was but still thin) It seems that the steaks have got thinner and the portions smaller. No offer of a free dessert which was disappointing. We didn't complain about the Prime Rib but we should have. We may not do Outback again if this is the way it is going. I would rather pay a bit more for a better steak. Will try Longhorn next time. read more
