One of the worst dining experiences ever!! We went to Outback on Wolf road for dinner on a Wednesday, around 8:30pm. Not sure if they were in a rush to close, closing time was 9:30pm, but we just had a bad experience with the food and the service. After we got our table, the server took the order for our drinks and just walked to the back without waiting for us to order drinks for our boys. After she came back with our drinks, we ordered drinks for our boys and put in for an order of the bloomin' onions. The bloomin' onions was so overcooked, half of the order just had a weird taste. I ordered a steak quesadilla, wifey ordered steak marsala and we ordered mac n cheese and a burger for the boys. The server did not ask us how we wanted the meat cooked, but I guess we could've mentioned it when we ordered. The food came out cold, they forgot to serve broccoli with the sirloin marsala, Mac and cheese looked like cheese was just brushed on it. Only good thing that came out was the burger with a side order of fruits for my 3yr old. Not sure if this was just a bad day, bad timing or that they were rushing to clean up and close, but it was bad and we just wanted to leave. read more

Last night my wife bought me dinner at Outback for Veterans Day. Our daughter joined us. After an approximately 1/2 hour wait we were seated in a booth. Each of us ordered 9oz filet with lobster tail. Each of our steaks was cooked to the desired temp. My daughter had hers medium well. She's young. My wife and I both med rare. One adult beverage,1 soda and an ice water for $ 80 bucks. I shall return. Of course General Patton said that and he got fired so who knows. read more

This place is not good. Steaks are nowhere near as good as other places and way too expensive. $24 for a dried out ribeye. We got our salads and didn't get our meals until about a half hour after we finished the salads. The place was just over half full and didn't really seem busy at all. We waited another 15 minutes after we were finished to just get our check. Plenty of places in the area better than the Outback. read more

The boyfriend and I will occasionally order Outback to go when we are feeling extra carnivorous and want a steak or prime rib. However, we will not be returning to this location. Last time we were there, we got home to find that our order was not correct. I contacted the restaurant to make them aware of the error and ask if they would refund the money for the missing items. The manager wanted us to return to the restaurant to pick up the food and I refused, as we live a solid 20 minutes away and 40 min round trip is not worth $10 of food. He kindly offered to mail me a gift certificate for double the amount and apologized for the inconvenience. I provided him with all my information, which he read back to me and then promised to put the certificate in the mail. Weeks later, it never arrived. I'm sorry but that's just miserable customer service. He could have just said no rather than make false promises and hope I forgot about it. Albany has some fantastic non-chain restaurants. Do yourself a huge favor and explore some of those options before you decide to patron this dump. read more

Place has gone downhill big time. Order a burger with just bacon and blue cheese....comes out completely wrong. Took 45 minutes for a nasty tasting burger and the wife's chicken sandwich. Besides the wife and I there were only 2 other tables. I used to work at this Outback location and things were much better back then than now, food quality and service. i too hate to admit it but for a chain it really wasn't that bad. my ribeye steak was really quite yummy, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. my broccoli was steamed perfectly and was crunchy and obviously fresh not frozen. my green beans as well. the salad too was fresh and good. another nice thing was that while we waited for the table to be ready, they brought out samples of their specialties to give us ideas (and it worked, i got the steak they offered.) and the sauce for dipping the onion thingie was really flavorful and spicy, i almost caved and ordered that as well. fred didn't enjoy it all that much but i think that was because his prime rib was Very rare and thus the fat was too much (but lilly loved it when i brought it home and heated it up for her...) all in all it was a quite good time for such a place. read more

Had dinner there last night and tried the Norwegian salmon for the first time. As with the other meals I've had there, the salmon was very good and the food is about as fresh as you can get in a restaurant. For added complexity, I need to adhere to a gluten-free diet and they have always delivered. They have, unfortunately, done away with the gluten-free bread. Good predictable choice for steaks. However, something is off though whether it's the service (slow) or the degree of doneness on the steaks, or the temperature of the food when it's received. With Outback's recent emphasis on a new more lively atmosphere I must say I was hoping that some of the complaints I've had in the past were corrected but so far that hasn't happened. While it's not a bad experience, you should just be aware of what you'll get and plan accordingly. read more

This outback consistently screws up mine or someone at out tables meal. I hate going to Wolf Road location, but the people I'm with pick it out of convenience. The latest screw-up (father's day); I ordered the new 3 Victoria's Filet Steak Flights (cooked medium rare), which sounded delicious. Our table was served, and to my surprise, I was served 2 sirloin and 1 filet steaks. The sirloins were tough, but the filet melted in your mouth. I complained to the server who eventually made a new dish for me and told us the manager to stop by the table. The manager never came by the whole time we were there. I personally feel that this switching filet for sirloin is common at this location and that the manager knows it goes on as he never showed up to our table. I bet there are many people that would not know, nor would not complain if it happened to them and that is what they are banking on. This is a horrible way to run a business. Sadly this is not the first time I have had issues at this location. If you have the option drive a little further and go to the Outback located in Clifton Park, NY where the service and food have always been great and they have not screwed my meal up once. read more

I have loved Outback for quite some time, but I usually only get to go maybe once a year at most, so when my job decided we would have our holiday dinner here - I was so excited. I remember a few years ago telling them we had a large party coming in - what a nightmare it is, but this time around, they were so helpful and organized - especially since we went on a Saturday night. We had two waiters helping us and they were very playful and helpful with the menu - they told us their favorite dishes, the new specials, and good deals. This was really great considering it was a Saturday night and they were out of some of the steaks, so it was great that they gave us some options to think about that we probably would have overlooked. I ordered a peppercorn NY strip that has some sort of brandy sauce with roasted potatoes. My roasted potatoes were ok and my steak was pretty good. This isn't my usual meal of choice, so it was nice to have a change of pace, but my prime rib wasn't in stock so I had to change it up. We ordered a blooming onion and the bacon cheddar fries to start and they were amazing!!!!! Overall, it was a great experience - they let us stay as long as we wanted, we could talk about whatever we wanted, as loud as we wanted, and they took care of everything we needed. I enjoy eating at Outback. I hate the location of this one only because for the amount of people that come, it should be bigger. When visiting this Outback, I went in to get put on the list, and was a bit upset that it was an hour wait. An hour wait for two people is ridiculous, for a place that claims they loose business by taking reservations. Ok so a lot of places are doing call ahead seating, call them, tell that your on your way and get put on the list. Whats wrong with that? After deciding to get a drink at the bar, we get through the waiting crowd only to find that there were no chairs available to even get the bartenders attention. Why? Not because there were people actually drinking but there were at least 3 family's sitting at the bar with young children, who were also sitting at the bar..Personally I am disgusted that an establishment would allow this, regardless, that there apparently isn't a law saying children cant sit at a bar, that it is at the discretion of the establishment, but i feel like you might as well promote underage drinking. Well as my man noticed an older couple leaving the bar to go to their table, he went over to take the chair, and this women who was already taking up 3 chairs decided to hold the corner of the chair that my man was trying to pull out....REALLY! That's not Outbacks fault but is this what society has come to your all out for yourselves?? Her actions pissed me off a bit and the waitresses getting drinks for their tables could see that, And went over the top to fix the issue. Went into explaining how the tables by the bar are first come first serve, so when she noticed somebody leaving, instructed to just stand by the table and somebody would be by to clean it off. Had the take out. My meal was the ahi tuna salad. It was by far the worst meal I have had in the last decade. It was a handful of old brown lettuce - a small handful is saying it generous. Hubby and I had dinner here the other night and things went pretty good. We arrived about 5:30 and got a booth in the lounge with no waiting. Our waiter took drink orders and took our food order upon his return. My steak was cooked as I wanted all food was warm. I thought my 6 oz sirloin was a little small, but it was also thick... I don't travel with a scale, lol. Regardless it was plenty to eat. The service was fast enough, and the spoken words were polite, however we could just tell this guy was either hating his job or having a bad day. Left a pricey pair of sunglasses there about a month ago, apparently never turned in by staff, no help when i called several times either. I have been to many Outback Steakhouse over the years and this one had to the WORSE one . I went on a Wednesday so I can't blame the day of the week for the poor service . We waited almost two hours for food that was poorly prepared . Shrimp wasn't fully cooked . Steak that wasn't asked to be well done was burnt to a crisps !! When we asked to speak with a manager we were approached by a man who didn't have the least bit of sympathy for our concerns .He just asked if there was something else we liked . We said no . He waddled away . We then had to wait an additional 30 mins for our bill . To top it all off the bill still had EVERYTHING on it . Out of the four of us only one of use ate their food . I will never be going back there and i suggest others to proceed with caution. read more

I recently visited this location as a post Baseball Hall of Fame meal destination. My friend and I arrived just before 9pm(they close at 9pm). We thought they closed at 10pm and took our sweet time. Jerks? No, just unaware. Regardless, our servers were extremely courteous and the food was great. Most importantly, I left my Cooperstown pin and hat (a sports nerd's prize possession ) in the booth. Not a big deal if I didn't realize it until I was back home in Austin TX! I called and they offered to mail it to me with no problems. So impressed, customer for life. read more

I took my son here for dinner for his Birthday. It was the slowest service ever. First of all no one came to the front to seat us. Finally a server was getting off shift and walking out told us we could seat ourselves in the lounge area or wait for the hostess. When our server finally showed up,.... It started with Lemon in water specifically asked for no lemon. I let that slide, No set ups, I got them myself off another table I let that slide. When our entrees showed up there was plastic on my baked potato and my sons meal was missing his mashed potatoes. My water was never refilled She Never followed up on meal. It's just 1 think after another. Finally after I asked the fellow that delivered our food to find our server. Because she was no where to be seen. She came over and said she had other tables. I get it! I'm a server!!! I told her it was my sons Birthday and asked if we could celebrate. She said they don't do the song anymore so I asked her to bring 1 of our cheesecakes that we ordered w the dinner special w a candle and we'll sing to him and box the others. She actually asked him if that's really what he wanted was for her to bring him a candle and have us sing to him. (He's 17) Way to ruin the moment. I looked over by the bar and saw another server standing there playing with her hair. Then that was taking forever as my water is still empty I was starting to lose my patience and finally saw her from a far and told her nevermind. I looked at the bartender and asked if there was a manager and when the manager showed up my sons cake was sitting in front of him with the candle still lit and he didn't say anything to him. I looked at him and said nevermind as I didn't want to get into it in front of my son. It was already ruined. He asked me while the candle was lit if there was anything he could do for me. Honestly, outback has always been a favorite restaurant of mine. However, the past 3 times I have been in , I received terrible service by both a bartender and server followed by food cooked completely wrong. I ordered a 12 ounce ribeye medium rare and received it well done. With a follow from a manager Kate Bailey who was rude and offered nothing but an appetizer card. I feel this establishment is going down the tubes due to management like this. She was unhelpful and is the reason I will never step foot into the outback in Colonie again. The owner should be ashamed their management and serving staff is so awful. Can't wait for longhorn to open!!! read more

+1 and I stopped in to Outback on Wolf Rd after a busy Saturday of holiday shopping, there was a 20min wait for a table, we opted instead for an open table in the bar. We had recently sampled some new menu items at a Yelp event and were excited to give an old favorite a new try. Things didn't go as planned, they didn't go badly but... the potential was there for catastrophe. I ordered grilled chicken and was delivered grilled shrimp. We were starved, the offer to bring the dish I ordered was made but having tried and liked the shrimp, I let it slide. It was good, not very hot.. but tasty. +1 ordered steak w/steak sauce which arrived more than 15 min later (I had already retrieved a bottle from a table nearby) and the soda he asked for @ the time we placed our dinner order arrived with the check. Lastly, I was really looking forward to ordering the gingerbread martini as my dessert/after dinner drink... I was told it could be made nondairy (and without whipped cream); turns out, non-dairy is not an option. If you're keeping score, +1 faired much better than I, particularly after I scored the steak sauce... And, even with the hiccups dinner was fine and I didn't really need the chicken or the drink, but I did want them. read more

You don't expect to get the treatment at a "chain type" restaurant as we did yesterday while up in Colonie. The waitress, Rhonda, was delightful, friendly and helpful without being over-attentive and intrusive. I ordered the sirloin steak and my wife ordered the "special" lobster tail and a filet. I asked that my steak be black and blue; very seared on the outside and rare on the inside. When the steak came out it was not really seared just had some grill marks. I accepted it anyway, chalking it up to the place just being a chain with mediocre food. Rhonda came over and asked if the steak was done correctly. She indicated that she had questioned the chef and thought it was not done correctly. I agreed that it had no "char" which is how I prefer it. She said she was replacing it for me. At this point I had already eaten about a third. She took my plate and told me the manager himself was going to cook my steak for me correctly. While she was gone I ate the pile of vegetables which were cooked perfectly, not soggy as you might expect. Literally minutes later she returned with a perfectly cooked and charred steak, another pile of vegetables, and the manager, Dan, who apologized and asked if this was correct. I was delighted. When it came time to wrap our leftovers Rhonda carefully packed everything up for us and Dan came over again to say hello. My wife and I were so taken by the care and thoughtfulness of these folks I vowed to write this review. The food was quite good, but the service was 5 stars! read more

So, to begin, I was apprehensive to dine at a big box corporate joint. As a fan of this company's other conceptual restaurants such as Bonefish Grill and Carrabba's, I decided that since I was in town, that I would give it a shot. Its proximity to the airport is ideal. It was during lunch time and it was a very pleasant surprise that my waitress or wait person, whichever you prefer, Danielle N, had made an inquiry as to whether or not I had any time constraints because it was lunch. This is an oft-overlooked detail that I appreciated as I did have an appointment to attend. I enjoyed the recommended Australian sparkling beverage with prosecco (my fav) and blackberries which I thought was very tasty and the Victorian filet mignon with crab topping. The steak was cooked to perfection and I was offered dessert and coffee at a perfect moment. Though I politely declined, I stated I was ready for the check and it was awesome to see that she had the check at the ready in her apron. She deserved all the $$$. All restaurants would benefit with such wait staff. Good hire Outback. Not only will I be returning, I have many friends who travel and I will certainly recommend this spot. read more

I thought this burger was bbq but it was just a fancy way to call it plain. In the end my party of 6 did not get the right order so we ended up waiting longer. Service took longer than should be expected for how few tables were occupied. 25 Minutes for drinks is too much. Seared Ahi was good, onion petals tasted really tough, peeled the breading off and many of them were battered and fried onion skin. Steaks were cooked appropriately, veggies good; but the mushrooms tasted sour, as though the cooking wine had turned to vinegar. We will not be going back to this location. read more

Stopped in for lunch today and received a very warm welcome at the door. I have eaten here before and always had a pleasant experience. The food was awesome - fish tacos - and the service was great!
