Ok yes, Outback is a chain. I have been coming to this location for a few years now and I think they have excellent service. So often is it easy to be left in the shuffle on a busy Friday or Saturday night. I have always been seated fairly quickly (they do call ahead seating!), and had servers that were quick and efficient yet very patient If I needed a minute. My water glass has never been dry, I guess my wine glass for that matter too! Sitting at the bar or at a table I have always had a very pleasant experience. I really like that they have a "healthy" menu now. I think the 6oz. Outback special can't be beat price- $9.99 for a steak and two sides!?!? Food was ok. Service was absolutely terrible. We went around 8:30ish. It wasn't busy at all so I figured the service might be quick. It took about 15 minutes just for the waiter to take our drink orders, which he got wrong. The food took about an hour to come out. Definitely not worth the high prices. I didn't even get my alcoholic drink until after the entree's came out. The bread came right before the entree's which was kind of pointless. We were going to get dessert, but we knew it would've taken forever to get to the table. I know it wasn't just us because the table behind us complained to the manager about our waiter. I have been a loyal customer of Outback and at various locations, but something has changed. The lunch value is a joke at Outback. French Onion soup was watered down broth, steak quesadilla looked like a kids order. Beer was not even near filled. The last few dinners haven't been up to par either. We have been at this restaurant for over 2 hours and everything on this trip was not up to par. Being an avid Outbacker, this is the worst experience I have encountered . The couple with us had to send their food back twice, the manager Jeff was very nice and took off their dessert and gave them a steak to go. Our waiter Monty broke up the checked wrong and split up an appetizer that was only for one couple on the whole check. Then it was just awkward and we kept it on or bill. I also had to have a fight with him about soda water is water.... just because you add bubbles it does not make it not water. We have had good experiences here in the past, but tonight was another story. Our party of four all ordered steak. It was brought to the table by a newbie who could not tell which steak was done medium or rare or what. So we all cut into what we had. All were right but one. The waitress said she heard incorrectly. Everyone at the table heard all the orders just fine. The mashed potatoes were cold. Yuck. The wrong steak order was recooked, but took a while. Everyone's drinks were long empty by the time the waitress offered to refill them. The manager walked by and asked if all was ok, but he never really stopped at the table to talk. If two different people send their food back to the kitchen, it's not necessary to ask if all is ok. You already know it's not. The restaurant was not crowded and there seemed to be plenty of staff to make things work. Things did not work. Need a new manager, expediter, and wait staff training. I have to say, I set the bar really low, and was incredibly surprised. I'm not a huge fan of the chain, but majority won so I trudged along after my boyfriend and some friends. The wait for a table was around 30-45 minutes (it was around 5pm, give or take), so we decided to sit at the bar to wait it out and have a drink until our table was ready. Shane greeted us immediately, and didn't bat an eye when most of us ordered water (I've been a bartender before, I know it's a pain to have water guzzlers taking up space at the bar), and remained courteous as we settled in and kept an eagle eye on our buzzer. He was so nice and engaging, in fact, that my friend who hates eating at the bar, decided it wouldn't be so bad after all. We were also introduced to Austin and Jason, and the trio were honestly the most attentive staff I've ever been served by. Not an easy feat, especially during the dinner rush (halfway through our visit, we overheard the server say the wait was an hour and a half). The food was good! I mean, let's be real here, it's not Ruth's Chris or any other fancy five-star steakhouse, but it was seasoned well, the steak was cooked as ordered, and all in all, I have no complaints. But let me tell you about the dessert. Let me just throw out that I'm not normally one for sweets/ordering dessert but, ohmyholywarmbrowniegoodness, the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under is sublime. Okay, yes, it's really just the "basic" vanilla ice cream on a brownie with fudge and whipped cream... or is it? Let me wax poetic here for a moment; there's a really nice crunch of pecans and is there anything better than having the ice cream melt into the warm cracks in the brownie? Nope. Not the other day when I was trying to maintain some semblance of ladylikeness whilst shoveling it into my mouth. On a diet? C'mon. YOLO, am I right? I would expect better from one of my favorite chain restaurants! The steak was huge, tough and tasteless. Do not get it twisted I love meals that provide leftover for the next day. Nevertheless, they have to be delicious enough to eat two days in a row. Next mistake, our Outback onion bloom app was so burned and greasy we send it back and they took off the bill. I spend close to $100 bucks and that's sad because, I deserved a better experience. The drinks had little alcohol which sucked! I wanna say I still love Outback because the Canton location in Baltimore had great service last time I visited. Nevertheless, it was two hours before closing at the Hunt Valley location and maybe that's why my service sucked. Not to mention the fact when I used the restroom, I noticed there were areas in the restaurant with chairs on tables and a employee was mopping the floor. Wow what a disapointment in a chain restaurant that in the past always delivered a consistent meal at a reasonable price. Always had good service too. Last night were told they were short staffed and the kitchen was backed up as were seated after a 25 minute wait. Opened the newer menu and were shocked at the prices.. no more Outback Special, most steak choices now over $20. No more chopped salad. Ordered the Cheese Steak Philly instead and got a sandwhich that was mostly roll. We're from Texas with a special needs child. Hotel food was bad so we decided to get a good Outback meal at the Hunt Valley location on Thursday, August 1st. The staff was friendly and our waiter was awesome. He was especially attentive to our child. Unfortunately, when you spend $65. for two meals, you'd expect good food. My steak was ordered Medium. Top side looked ok, but it was totally black on the underside. It was hard, way over cooked and tough. I will now remember it as the worst steak of my life. If it had been undercooked, I would have sent it back for a bit more cook time, but it was so tough and overcooked, I knew our child could not tolerate the wait time for a whole new steak, so I decided not to tell our awesome waiter, who was so kind. My hope would be that this Outback monitors the kitchen better in the future, because I feel pretty sure the cook knew he sent out a really bad steak. Most people would take it out on the waiter's tip, but this waiter earned his tip for attitude, not the quality of the food. read more

Horrible service and horrible food but the icing on the cake was my last visit when cooks were walking in and out of the curbside entrance with the same plastic gloves on when they returned as when they left. Curbside pickup times are absolutely horrible. I don't understand why they offer this service if you can't pull up and have your food brought out to you within minutes. This option simply needs to be cancelled for this location because they can't even come close to the estimated times. I picked up 3 steak dinners this way a few weeks ago for my mother's birthday. I intentionally showed up 10 minutes after the recommended arrival time because I know how slow and behind they always are. I waited in the car for an additional 25 minutes before the food came out! The service times are unacceptable. The only reason my rating is a 2 (instead of 1) is because the food is consistently good. I've been eating at the Outback in Hunt Valley, Maryland for years. I can't remember a time that everything wasn't great. The food is always delicious, the beer is cold and the staff is always friendly. Lunch is usually the Bloomin burger or the fish tacos. I am a creature of habit when it comes to dinner which is always the 6 ounce Victoria's filet, baked potato with butter and sour cream on the side and the house salad with ranch dressing. You just can't go wrong with that dinner. It is outstanding. I know the weekends are busy so I try to have dinner during the week. On occasion I do find myself having my steak and bake on a Saturday evening at Hunt Valley Outback. I will definitely keep going back to this location. I just love it. read more

It was later in the evening (8pm) and we were tired (after flying in that afternoon) and just wanted to eat and go back to the hotel. Our server was friendly and took our drink and food order. The restaurant was still quite busy for being later in the evening. The server did bring out some bread for us. We ate that (since we were hungry). We were hoping he would bring us some more (since our food was taking quite a bit to come out) but he never came back. Finally our food arrived and it was good. I haven't been to an Outback restaurant in probably over a decade. Well I recently went with my niece on a Sunday evening. Unfortunately, the experience I had won't have me returning. I would've given one star but the second star is for the way the server and the manager handled everything. I ordered a 6oz sirloin with broccoli and a side salad. My salad came out with a moldy tomato on it. At first I wondered if it was some random pesto on it, but it was definitely mold. I told the waiter and asked for a double order of broccoli because I was turned off by the salad. When the food finally came out, the steak was tough and very fatty. I've had sirloin before and that was definitely a bad cut. I couldn't eat it. The broccoli seemed old and microwaved. Our waiter offered to make a new order but at that point I didn't want to eat anything. So I returned that and ate 2 of my niece's buffalo wings (which were decent.) They took the steak meal off the check and offered me a coupon. I appreciated that but I won't be returning. I gave the coupon away to someone I know who likes going there. read more

I would say things were UNEVEN... Two years ago we stopped going here because of the service; we went to dinner here this Friday night. There was a wait so we went to the bar and had a drink. The service was quick and professional, easy to do business, asked if we wanted a tab, etc... The drinks were fine, simple cold beer.. We got our table within a reasonable amount of time, our server was okay. Not easy to understand with an accent, however she was there every time we needed something. We had a manager come to our table early on and introduce herself and inform us if we needed anything to ask for her... So I would say the service improved from two years ago.... The food was good and okay.. We had steaks and seafood.... The grilled shrimp was excellent, grilled and moist a lot of taste, homerun... The snow crabs my wife and daughter had and they said it was very good. My wife had a filet and I had a Porterhouse... We both like the peppery flavor; however the quality of meat was not there. Every time I visit an outback I am always met with great, top notch food but completely horrible customer service. No matter what state we are in when going to an Outback Steakhouse, something is always wrong with the order. Yes, they do always match us with a gift card and a very heart-felt apology. But I would rather have my food than a gift card to come back at a later date and still be met with bad service. Not to speak of the gift always expires within a few months... Anywho.... I understand it's a Saturday and to going to be busy but that's when Outback should have more time allotted on their website for the curb side pick up. It shouldn't always just be 20 minutes. We get there promptly, the guy is running around and grabs our name and payment, promptly makes it back with the card and then we do not see him for another 20 minutes. I finally sent my boyfriend inside and out he walks 10 minutes later with our food, no longer warm. We arrive home- living in the city about 20 minutes later to see they forgot one of our meals. The worst experience I have ever had eating out. I have had better service at a truck stop. The meal took 2 and a half hours and after complaining and getting a grilled cheese that was literally slices of cheese between two pieces of toast, and a cold stead and cold ribs, they brought back, the same steak, reheated to an over cooked temperature, burnt steak, and a grilled cheese that looked like grilled cheese a half hour later. So if you really want a grilled cheese and don't mind waiting hours for one, go over pay at outback for it! read more

It's an Outback so it really doesn't seem to matter which location you are at, you always get the same thing. I'm really sad they took the caramel apples off the menu for sides. Those were amazing. My food was lukewarm with a small lunch crowd. My daughter porterhouse steak was spoiled. I ate a small piece was disgusted. The waiter said I don't believe something is wrong with the steak. Salad was admittedly fresh and crisp, but where was the dressing(?). Found a tiny drop in the bottom of the bowl. The steak and crab promo . The crab was dry and IMO not freshly steamed. My filet while done properly med. rare was served at room temperature as were the film coated mashed potatoes. If the plate and contents were hot at one time, they surely sat out before served. The steak had a pepper "crust". So peppery it masked the flavor of the meat. Our waitress was cheerful and sweet. She brought our drinks, bread and appetizer in a timely manner. We enjoyed the onion petals, but then after waiting forever for the entre which was disappointing, the whole experience fell pretty flat. read more

Went for their steak and lobster special. So glad we did. Outstanding dinner. Steak cooked perfect (med rare) and lobster was nice size.
