Good service the food is good and I like the music it is a good place for food and a hangout spot

Favorite sister and I had a nice dinner yesterday at Outback! Because it was Easter I got reservations the day before; however, they weren't needed because the restaurant was maybe half full at 5:00. Jessica was our adorable server and she was beyond kind! She mentioned being "new" at working here, and double checked with others regarding questions we had. She did a great job! Sister enjoyed her meal, which I'm not sure exactly what she got for an entrée. It had fried shrimp, and a side of delicious looking mashed spuds, a chopped salad she said was really good and with a dessert included. I think she got one of the 3 course dinner options offered at really good prices, similar to what Bonefish Grill is offering. The servers were keeping the tables fresh and wiped off, the restroom was clean, and the only distraction for me was the "pay here" electronic device that sat atop each table that felt intrusive and like a flashing billboard. Jessica was kind enough to take my payment tableside and I didn't have to engage the device. We got a to go meal for my husband and it looked well prepared and was well packaged. We went for lunch this Sunday afternoon and were promptly greeted and seated. Our server Kristina was awesome! She was very attentive and gave us great service. We both had the three course meal of a salad, soup, 6oz steak and a cheesecake for dessert! We were too full to eat dessert so she kindly packed it to go! Very enjoyable lunch! I honestly enjoyed the visit here. The staff was excellent professional and very pleasant to work with. They was having a special where you could get a free blooming onion if you signed up for one of the services they offered (it's a free service) and I think it even made it was to check out when you're ready to leave so definitely not a bad deal at all. The food was delicious but it did seem to me that it was more spicy, by spicy I mean heat wise not overly seasoned, however in their defense it was my first visit there since 2018 so yeah it's been a while. The music wasn't overly loud to me but it might've been to others so I can't really say much on that but I was seated near the bar and it wasn't loud by any means. They have T.V.'s that are turned down so no volume but they do have closed caption. I had dinner by myself at this Outback location last night. I sat in the bar area as I tend to do when I dine alone. The food & service was impeccable!!! I ordered the sirloin & ribs. Everything was cooked to perfection. The bartender, Shae, is one of the nicest humans I've ever met in my life. We went here for lunch, solely based on nostalgia, as we used to come here once a month back in the '00s. I had a salad and a burger, both of which were okay. My wife, however, had a fried chicken sandwich that was not okay: overcooked chicken, the portion size of which barely filled half the bun; and most of the lettuce used in her sandwich was brown and wilted. We also noticed a cleanliness problem at our booth at the end of our meal, with dead bugs along the window. On a lighter note, Anna was a wonderful server. Nonetheless, we won't be coming back. Outback Steakhouse is always a reliable choice for dinner in Madison. They are usually always packed so I highly recommend arriving early or joining their waitlist online. My favorite appetizer ever are from Outback. Their Bloomin' Onion and Cheese Fries are both amazing! Honestly the complimentary bread and butter are really good as well. The house salad, blue cheese chop salad and the wedge salad are all really awesome side salads. For entrees, the Alice Springs Chicken and 6oz Outback Special Sirloin or Filet are my go to meals. The Loaded Potato or Loaded Potato Soup both pair very nicely with it. If you're looking for a healthier side, the steamed broccoli are really good. If you want dessert, definitely try the Chocolate Thunder From Down Under, you won't regret it! This Outback is located in Madison on Hwy 72 W in front of the Kohls shopping center right past Nance Rd. They have a decent size parking lot but it usually fills up. Over flow parking is right behind it in the back of the Kohls parking lot. read more

We are back to a normal menu @ Outback in Madison, Alabama! My wife and I enjoyed a steak and good service. The company was the best thing about it, but we had a great time. Not. Impressed. At all. Not by the service provided, nor the knowledge of the menu by the waitstaff, or the length of time we had to wait, nor by the food. Also, they had run out of disposable copies of their menu which made it very difficult for my older parents to order. They had a lot of issues trying to get the menu item print large enough to read without totally losing the item they were looking at. Our waitress was totally unphased and unapologetic when I mentioned the hard time my parents were having with the online menu. The menu has undergone a massive overhaul in recent years (maybe even more so now due to COVID), but they have done away with many of my family's favorite dishes!. The Alice Spring Chicken and ToWomba Pasta are gone (just to name two of our favorites). One member of our party elected to just drink water and not order anything at all... *looks around nervously* Okay, it was me. I was the one who only ordered water. The one saving grace of this establishment is the bread that is still served while you're slowly starving while waiting on your meal to arrive. We were one of only 3 tables in the restaurant... I love outback and their food is always good! The main problem I have with this location is with takeout. The employees who work the takeout area do not acknowledge you when you arrive. I waited outside 5 minutes before they came outside even though they both looked at me, but were goofing around laughing. Finally one of the came outside and asked for the name of the order and they weren't even friendly. Another problem with this location is the bar. Only needed to pull into the parking lot to see how far this place has gone down hill. About 8 or 9 BOH personnel smoking, cutting up, play fighting, and their uniforms were filthy. Most of them were still wearing their aprons (which I know they didn't exchange after taking out trash and smoking). I know BOH staff need breaks but maybe try not to make it look like they are having a field day by the entrance. Didn't get to try the food, but something tells me it's dirty. I actually gave up on Outback about 10 years ago. They used to be amazing, but have steadily dropped in quality over the years. My friend had a gift card, though, so we came here for dinner last night. We ordered a bloomin' onion as our appetizer. It was good but a little greasy, which of course is typical for that dish. I didn't want anymore after a few pieces. I got a mango tea and it was mediocre. I asked them to add some Sprite to help it out a little bit. I didn't get any refills. They have a new chicken dish called the Bloomin' Fried Chicken or something like that. Huge disappointment. Very thin piece of breast covered in breading. I think I took 3 bites before I stopped; I don't like overly breaded chicken. My first baked potato came with bacon (which I asked them to take off) but they brought me another one quickly. The potato was good but I needed a bit more toppings. The broccoli was too mushy for me; I'd consider it overcooked. One of my dinner companions ordered the same thing I did except with the mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato. She didn't eat much of her meal, either. In fact, her to-go plate was jam packed with not only her meal, but also mine. I didn't wanna bring it home. My other friend ordered a salad, fried mushrooms and sautéed veggies. She enjoyed everything she had. I dunno. My meals at Outback are always "meh," and this time was no different. read more

Lesson learned the hard way: If you order takeout from here, check the bag before you leave. I ordered takeout on a Sunday evening from the Outback Steakhouse in Madison, Al. The order consisted of: 1) Outback Special with fries and a Caesar salad 2) Outback Special and Shrimp on the Barbie with fries. Special instructions: Please include ketchup with the order. For order number 1, I received a Caesar salad without dressing and instead of fries they gave me a baked potato. For order number 2, the shrimp on the Barbie and fries didn't have seasoning. No ketchup was included. Only positive was that the steaks were cooked to order and were of standard quality for what you expect at an Outback. I've been to dozens of different Outback's and this was a sad display. Maybe I just got unlucky with a bad cook, but the mistakes that were made went beyond the cook's responsibilities alone. Had I gone into the restaurant and been served in the same manner I would have expected to be comped. If I'm feeling like Outback, I'll try the other location in town. read more

Just so everyone knows, sometime ago Outback changed the way they prepared all the steaks, biggest difference we found was they no longer use that special seasoning when cooking steaks anymore, big bummer in our opinion. also the only steaks that get cooked on an actual Flame grill are the ones with the bones in them, all the others get cooked on a flat top grill and press. Outback offered me a $10 reward, so I decided to order a 12 oz prime rib for take out. I arrived almost 15 minutes early, but didn't stay because my food wasn't ready and went to run another errand that I thought wouldn't take long, but did anyway because of the poor service I received getting my drink at the nearby McDonald's. I returned about 10 minutes after my meal was supposed to be ready at Outback because of the problems at McDonald's, and I immediately let Outback know I was there for curbside pick up. Twenty minutes later I was still waiting in my car for my meal. In order to get my drink at McDonald's, I had to march in from my curbside pick up spot in order to get my drink that should had been brought out to me within 10 minutes of my being there. Now I was concerned I was going to have to get out of my car to get my take out order from Outback. I then tried calling the restaurant and no one answered for over two or three minutes of ringing before someone finally picked up. I was in the middle of trying to find out where my order was on the phone when finally a staff member brought my meal out. By that time, I was so peeved that my meal wasn't brought out right away since they had texted me it was ready at the time I drove in, I just paid for my meal and hurried home. The staff member who finally brought my meal out, apologized and said she had gone to the bathroom. Really? Why weren't there enough people handling the take out orders? I only live about ten minutes away, but my food was already cold or nearly cold, esp. my bread which felt like it hadn't even been recently baked since it didn't have an iota of warmth to it at all. It was obvious that my meal had been sitting around for awhile and if it had been brought out to me as soon as I got there instead of letting it sit there, I wouldn't have had to microwave it when I got home. This meal could have been better if they actually gave me a hot one. I do have another complaint about my prime rib; it had too much fat which cut down on the actual 12 oz of meat which I was paying for. It really bothers me that with all the time they had to get my meal to me in a timely fashion, that they didn't do until it was basically cold. Absolutely horrible. The stake was not cooked to which we asked told the waiter he had them put back on and then came back out so cook that it was so chewy we could not eat them. I spoke to manager and he said well it's because you ordered the sirloin I said I have been eating this at this cook for as long as I can remember. So with that commit from him. I decided I was not paying for any of it. And good for him he agreed. The store was not over busy and we heard 3-4 other people send their plat back before we got ours. Wife and I visited Outback for her birthday. Personally I gave up on Outback a long time ago after a series of sub-par meals, but this is where she wanted to go for her birthday meal. First, the service was great! Sandra(?) was super and gave us the right amount of attention in spite of having many tables assigned to her. I ordered the Bloom Petals for an appetizer since I didn't want a large Bloomin' onion. The onion petals were fried a little too long in my opinion, but still were pretty good. For the main course I had the Chicken & Ribs. The chicken was chewy and I had to use a steak knife to cut it into small pieces to eat it. The ribs were average. I ordered the fancy-dancy steakhouse mac & cheese for my side dish. The macaroni wasn't cooked properly and was rubbery. I only ate a few bites, enough to know not to go any further. Didn't wait long for a table and the waiter was doing a good job until we had to wait over 34 minutes for our entrees. Every table that came after us was eating long before ours came out. When our food got to our table everything was barely warm, at best, and they forgot my sons order completely. I informed the waiter of my issue and he took my steak away and heated it up in the hot box. So when my steak came back it was well done instead of the way I ordered it, med rare. My wife and I eat at outback, highway 72 Madison Al today at about 4 pm. They seated us in the bar area with some of the loudest rowdy drinkers I've seen in a while. This outback has evidently turned into a beer joint, not a place I want to take my for a belated mother's day. The blooming onion was the toughest I believe I've ever had, when I told the waitress she said sorry but that was end of subject. I wanted dessert but with the noise & food that wasn't happening.
