Very poor experience. The hostess was WONDERFUL and unfortunately, she was the best part of the trip. The restaurant had a sour smell, 99%!of the staff was in training, my food came over cooked and cold. The steak looked like a hamburger from Backyard burgers. The manager tried to rectify the situation. He came off very rude at first but he softened his tone on his next visit. They should also teach the servers how to serve beverages correctly. I usually eat at the location near my house (Cordova) and never have any issues. I will NEVER return to this location and I'm most likely never going to visit another outback again. This was my first time ordering from this location, but I was impressed with the good reviews. I ordered a 6 oz filet (medium) with a baked potato and salad. Unfortunately, that's about the only entree you can find there for under $25, and I didn't want to spend more than that on takeout. My steak was almost well done... slightly charred on the outside and grey on the inside. It was the size and shape of a hamburger patty. The salad and potato were ok, plus the guy that delivered it to my car was nice. That's why I gave them a three. But I can get a way better meal for $25 elsewhere. read more

She also didn't bring me my lobster tail with the meal we had to remind her of that also. Totally unexceptable. Clearly she doesn't care about her job or her customers. You would expect this kind of behavior from fast food but Outback where your paying 70 -100 dollars no way shound it be like this. We recently were able to visit the downtown Outback location. It was delicious, I had the ribs and blooming onions. Highly recommend visiting Outback and trying the ribs. Also, consider dessert. I had the Oreo chocolate moose, and have wanted more moose every day since we went. read more

I had a gift card for my birthday here and so me and the spouse decided to try it out. Remind to the location and Midtown on Union Avenue and upon being seated we waited for 11 minutes to even get water. Kimbrya saved this experience by explaining that the previous server went home and she took over. She was friendly and very professional and really helped me navigate my celiac disease. The salmon I had was amazing and my spouse enjoyed the steak. We will be back. read more

Don't usually support big chains with all the great local options in Memphis but work hosted a end-of-semester lunch here. Food decent. Service awful. It's been a while since I've been to outback and I was pleased to see some light (less expensive) lunch options with healthy sides. I had steak tacos with a side of vegetables. The veggies were meh. But I mean, the blooming onion or French fries always look better than bland carrots. Tacos were good. Service though? I can't understand how it took our server 20 minutes to get me a water and longer for two other ladies to get their soft drinks. I never received a bread plate and ate the appetizer bread entirely without a drink. We had a party of 8 and had trickled in during a dead lunch time. Our server had one other table from what I could tell. When food came out it was a guessing game with food runners asking who had what at the table. And then at the end, to calculate checks, our server was asking everyone what they had. I was just surprised by how unorganized everything was for the middle of the day when service was slow. read more

The waitress took our order but when she brought our salad and drinks out she stopped and took and order while I sat looking at my salad and drink sitting on a tray for 20 minutes. When she finally brought the tray with the salad/drink there was no apologies nothing. My Ribeye steak was very fatty. I expect some fat but the more I cut the more fat I found. At the end I realize that there was way more fat than actual lean edible meat. I spoke to the manager and he was very unprofessional and rude and refuse to give any type of credit. Update: Monique Harris, manager of this Outback location, personally reached out to me and was very apologetic, kind and understanding as she listened to my experience. She is correcting the issue. Watch your credit card statement after eating here and paying with credit card! They changed the tip I filled out on the receipt. My meal was around $14 including tax and I left a $2 tip due to poor service. Poor service included them taking forever to even acknowledge me to take my order, not bringing my drink until my food had come out (I had to ask them numerous times for my drink and it was just a soda), not giving me silverware and therefore me having to ask for it, asking for the complementary bread and not getting it until I was halfway through my meal, and making me sit there and wait for my check even though I had clearly finished my meal and was trying to get their attention to let them know I was ready to pay. After all of that, I still left about a 15% tip (which honestly was not earned). Then to top it all off, they changed my tip to $4 (instead of my original $2 tip). Thank goodness I kept my receipt and checked my credit card statement. I disputed the extra charge with my credit card and they refunded me, but it's the principle of the matter that this Outback location committed fraud by changing my tip on my receipt. How many other poor people have been victims of this from this location? I'm sure there are more! When I called to notify management, the manager didn't even apologize and said I would have to come in person to prove it (literally drive 16 miles to their location to prove the $2 fraudulent change in the tip on my receipt). Sit down to eat and didn't even get drink order taken for 20 minutes. I ask for a manager Erica comes to the table with an attitude as if she has not eaten... and slams a menu down, just terrible. And after I ask her about the attitude she said You have the attitude I said you think.... lost me as a customer forever. Where do you get your managers? Why did SHE have the attitude I'm the one that needed water...outback needs a lot of management training ASAP. Ok I made reservations for a party of 5 adults and 4 kids, when I got there the lady told us it would be an hour before we could be seated. When it was close to that hour I went back in to let them know I'm still waiting. She said there were 4 people ahead of me So I round up my party and came inside. About 10mins after sitting inside, the manager came and told us we couldn't be served, that our party was too big. She was rude, and didn't try to accommodate us. It wasn't that they could not serve us that upset me, it was the fact that they allowed us to wait an hour then say we couldn't be served. Took a chance on this Outback. Had not so great experiences in the past. Traveling through Memphis and wanted a good steak. Had to wait a little on a Saturday night (15 minutes). Took a seat in the bar and Mya served us with efficiency and friendly service. Sorry management but a strong pour of wine also. Our server was Terrance ( the "awesome"). Recommended the best steak and he was right. What a great dinner with just the right amount of great service, excellent food and friendliness. Let me start by saying that I'm allergic to shellfish. I usually stay away from seafood restaurants or ones that have a heavy shellfish offering. They smell "off" to me and my allergies are such that the strong odor, usually because of steamed dishes, can make my face breakout in minutes. Not to mention the fear of cross-contamination. Walking in the front door I smelled nothing "fishy". (I noticed the busboys using some kind of cleaning solution all over the tables once they were cleared.) The server was so nice...and made sure our party had everything we needed. Great food. But what sold me was the manager (Keith or Kevin)... He recommended the shrimp/avocado appetizer. I told him that I LOVE avocado, but have allergies. I didn't know it, but he went to the kitchen and brought me back the dish sans shrimp. He reassured me that no shellfish had touched the avocado and to enjoy it on him. Now, that's going way beyond service. My wife and I have been to Outback a number of times and have had wonderful steak. This year, we needed a place to eat on Christmas Eve (and what's a more traditional for Christmas Eve dinner than steak?? - Just kidding). We do not normally eat out on Christmas Eve, but this year we decided to go to Outback. We were greeted by gracious staff who made us feel welcomed. Oh, and the steak was FABULOUS as well. My wife truly enjoyed every bite of her Filet. I chose the Smoky Bacon Bourbon Ribeye (bone-in Natural Cut Ribeye) and it was cooked to perfection. Each bite exploded with a blend of fantastic bone-in Ribeye flavor that was only enhanced by the sweet Bourbon sauce and smoked bacon. Have I got your attention yet? Well, the steak was so large I had trouble getting the baked potato on the plate. Now large was not a problem because the steak was loaded with flavor - the kind that lingers in your mouth, and your mind, as you enjoy it. I could go on, but you simply must experience one of these Smoky Bacon Bourbon Ribeye steaks to appreciate it! You owe it to yourself. read more

I have never had such a bad experience at an Outback. The server was very nice but that only goes so far. We had 8 at our table so automatic gratuity was added. We had to ask multiple people for things multiple times. Finally gave up on another loaf of bread. Our drinks sat empty the majority of the time to only be replaced with new glasses and none removed. Half our table were finished or at least half way done by the time the other half received their food. If we lived here we would never return. I will say that my first time being there for the Yelp event for the new items coming out was pretty awesome experience. I have been to the other Outback Steakhouse a few times which is usually sub-par service at times. The servers and even the owner were really caring about the service they were giving to all the yelpers that came out for the event. The food is definitely worth eating for sure. The only thing that kills the location is the parking. It's definitely hazardous trying to leave the place. Go try out the food yourself.!!! read more

Jesse the waiter told my grandma she was hot. Made her day. She later left her number on the receipt and they started texting! They are now engaged. Terrible service...I mean terrible...after the built up excitement of going out for the first time since we had a baby, we were so let down on this location...we started out by ordering an appetizer and drinks...15 minutes later we got them, and at the same time, and our appetizer was cold. We sent it back and the manager brought us a new one...so we waited about 25 minutes for some onion pedals. Then we each ordered salads...which we only got one of them...so my wife was left without a salad...then I ordered another drink, which was just a draft beer, and it took 7 minutes for that...then we ordered our entrees...my wife ordered the filet and lobster tail and I ordered the wings...when we got the food, my wife not only didn't receive a lobster tail, but it was still on our bill...this was just a terrible experience and I really don't know if I can give this location another try. read more

Outback just doesn't do it for me. It's very expensive for what it is, and I don't think the quality of the steaks is that high -- my boyfriend can cook a better steak at home from the grocery store for way less than the $50-60 it costs for us to have dinner here. I've also noticed that they use a very heavy hand with seasoning at this location. For instance, every time I've ordered the Caesar salad, the dressing has left a very peppery aftertaste in my mouth, and the steaks seem to have similar problem. I appreciate the effort to not serve bland food, but they're going a little too far in the opposite direction. Service the last time we ate here was shockingly good, but unfortunately that's just not enough to make up for the lackluster food. I'm not coming back unless I'm dragged here. read more
