I had a long day of traveling from California to Knoxville on Monday and was really hungry. I made the 30 minute drive from Knoxville to Oak Ridge where my hotel was located. I saw Outback Steakhouse near my hotel so stopped in for dinner before checking into my hotel. I was immediately seated and my server brought me fresh warm bread and an Arnold Palmer. I ordered a Ceasar salad and kookaburra chicken wings as my entree. My salad came immediately but it took 25 minutes to get my chicken wings! I told my server to box them up to go for me and I took them back to my hotel room to eat. The wings were delicious but don't understand why they took so long to cook? My husband and I went to Outback yesterday afternoon around 2PM and were seated in the corner booth on the right side of the bar. We ordered drinks and food. While we were eating the bread, I noticed drops of water landing on the table and me. I looked up and there was water dripping from the vent. I told the server that there was water dripping from the ceiling and we wanted to be moved. The server didn't apologize for the dripping water and didn't act surprised about the water. I requested a replacement tea because I was not sure if the water was in my glass. We were moved and I got another tea. My husband ordered ribs and he didn't bring any extra napkins. We finally got the server's attention to get the napkins when we were about to leave. She never came to check on us during the entire meal. I would have thought that she would have let the manager know about the dripping water and the manager would have talked to us. Also, the food was not very good either. read more

The drinks are inconsistent, depending on which bartender you get. The food is even more inconsistent depending on the cook you get. I had been a patron there for over 20 years and was called a prostitute by a patron. He said bars are for men and that I shouldn't be sitting up at the bar. The service was ok but we ordered a Bloomin onion as an appetizer and within 3 minutes our entrees were delivered to the table! I want time to eat my appetizer before getting the entrees. It was 25 years ago since we last visited an Outback so it was time we gave it another go. It was very busy on a Saturday night so we sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited. The selection of real beer Vs. children's beer was better then normal have two types of Samuel Adams, very good indeed. The buzzing pagers are long gone, they send you a text. I wonder how long they wait before they sell your cell number onto car warranty companies? Oddly we were seated in the bar area itself. Sierra was an outstanding waitress and took very good care of us. I asked for no dusting on my steak and BOY did it make a huge improvement. The food was up quickly, hardly no wait time. The quality of the food is impressive. Be warned, grilled shrimp are covered in powdered salt. This is a cynical ploy to get you to consume more drinks. Plenty of close parking outside and the inside was kept clean and inviting. Very few downsides. Where we sat we could hear the bell and "Order up" every 30 seconds so you know the kitchen is on their game and hustling. The bar area could use a little more hustle, they seem to be in no rush, it took a while for replacement drinks. We will return. I've never been to Outback before, so this is a fresh take. I was seated promptly, and my drink order was quickly taken. My server's name was Mary and she was helpful and friendly. I ordered the pork chops with sides of rice and mixed veggies. The place was busy but not overly noisy, and I was surprised when my order came so quickly. The only thing that confused me was when Mary asked how I wanted my pork chop cooked, as I've never had to give a doneness range for pork chops before. I chose medium well and it came out perfect. The sweet mustard sauce was super yummy and the rice had good flavor. The carrot/squash mix was unseasoned and the carrots were a little too raw for my taste, but still edible. I really enjoyed this meal and will definitely come back and try something else. The prices were on par with other restaurants of this type. The space between tables was cramped because it was so crowded, so if you have a mobility aid, you might have a little difficulty navigating through. read more

I always love coming to this Outback Steakhouse because of the delicious food. However, recently I ordered pick up and there were some mistakes with my order. I do not want to shine light on the mistakes but how management handled the situation. First, I called and spoke with Cody, their manager. He was so kind and considerate to the situation. Then, he was giving me options to remediate the situation and he was very patient. In the end, I went with a gift card for my next visit. I just received the gift card from them and it came with a letter of apology. I felt like they were truly sorry for the situation and made me comfortable to go back. I'll definitely be back at this location soon because of Cody Davis. He is a wonderful manager and he's what most managers should be. It would be a big loss if Outback ever was to lose him. My wife and I stopped in for an unplanned meal. First, the waitress was great. She was Mexican, with an accent/ slight broken English- I only point that out to help identify her. She did a great job. I ordered the filet- medium with a loaded baked potato. My wife ate my salad. We also ordered the new shrimp blossom The filet was way too salty but was cooked perfectly. I prefer my steaks slightly under medium, and this was perfect, so I ate it. Honestly probably should have asked for another steak but was afraid they wouldn't cook it as well. The baked potato- was delicious. It was cooked just right, completely done all the way through. My wife wasn't crazy about her salad. She thought it was probably bag lettuce with a waxy taste to it. Not trying to be a Karen but I got take out tonight and the potato tastes like it was made two days ago. It's hard and the skin is inedible. Also they forgot the butter and sour cream. No silverware to eat with which makes it hard to eat a salad in your car. Also asked for no bacon as I'm allergic to pork and the tin foil the potato was wrapped in had bacon in it as did the cheese. I've eaten at this establishment for several years now. I think a 3 star rating is too low, but it's true that the service has good days and bad. Try the Alice Springs Quesadilla and thank me later. Hot tip: they have a great Chop steak for only $9.99 that includes two sides. It isn't on the menu. If you are on keto you can opt for cheese covered with a salad and broccoli. Don't know how to describe our experience. Went there to celebrate 2 of my friends birthday. The hostess was rude and had to wait for our server and never received our appetizer. Food was not that great and never did get to celebrate my friend's birthday because they said that not all waiters or waitresses sing. But the sad part is that the hostess was going around talking about how rude our table was. I confronted her and she tried to play it off like she didn't do anything wrong.. I walked in and was approached by the hostess who was wide eyed and demanded to know how I got inside.
