We visit this Outback Steakhouse frequently! Probably the best steak in Auburn, AL. Jordan was our server tonight, and he did a great job. Our steaks were very good and so were the cheese fries. Sign up for the dine rewards and every third visit you will receive $20 off... it's a very simple program. We always check in on the app as well, it seems to get us seated quicker. Rating is less than zero! Food was delicious but service was unbelievably awful! We arrived at 6:12(the time of your welcome text to me). My number is 334-727-0221. You can check your computer. Several couples who arrived after us were seated before us because we asked for a table...so they said. There were plenty of tables empty! When we were seated, it was at a table with chairs on one side and booth bench on the other. We have a health issue which I don't feel I have to explain which is why we asked for table seating. Next, we were not asked if we wanted an appetizer which we did. I had to tell her that. I asked for a specific type of drink. She said she didn't "think" it was available but she would ask. She arrived back with my husband's beer and never mentioned my request. Again, I had to ask. She brought water to me only and never offered any other drink. I had to again ask for wine. At 55 minutes after being seated, we flagged down another server who went to check on our food. It was immediately on the table after that;however, I ordered a loaded baked potato. When it arrived, it had about 1/2 tsp sour cream, exactly 3 small onion pieces on and exactly 2 grater strips of cheese, I had to ask for additional sour cream! When we expressed our displeasure the kitchen manager came out and said he wanted us to be happy. He instructed our server to let him know when we were done and he would make us happy. Guess what? She brought a ticket for the full price of everything and no offer of anything! We arrived at 6;12 and left at 8;20 which is ridiculous! No apologies were made whatsoever. Been here for over an hour and still do not have our food. I ordered my steak medium and there were actually burn marks on it. Been waiting for a replacement for 20 minutes now. My husband ordered his steak medium well and it is obviously well done. A guy across from us ordered his medium rare and it was well done. I'm sensng a trend. Finally got our food. Excellent service and food that was cooked perfectly to order. Our servers name was Leo and if you're lucky enough to get him he was super friendly, attentive, and remembered everything we asked for. The blooming onion is what we come here for but my steak was cooked perfectly to medium and the baked potato was delicious. Great place to come eat near EAMC. read more

Food was good and met expectations. However my daughter and I went in well before dinner rush and asked to be seated at open booth in bar area - as hostess was about to seat us another employee halted her and said we could not sit there because they were using that area to sit others waiting. I understood - I was told the only place my daughter and I could sit was at the bar . This person was rude and short . The restaurant was at most 20% occupancy as we were in between lunch and dinner. We reluctantly sat at the bar and watched as the booth we requested sat empty for almost 40 minutes. Sitting at the bar with mr underage daughter was not our first choice, but bc there is only one server / bartender we were there almost and hour and a half because the bartender forgot to turn in our to go order to the kitchen. We went to outback for a date night because we had a gift card given to us as a wedding present. Unfortunately, our date night had quite the damper put on it because of the poor service we got at this restaurant. First of all, we waited a long time before our server even came over. Then, we ordered two specialty drinks at the same time as we ordered our food. The food came way before the drinks did and I sat and stated at our drinks sitting at the bar for a good 15 minutes but there was literally not a server in sight for me to inquire about them. Our waitress only came to our table twice: once to bring me the fries that were supposed to come with my meal in the first place and once to bring us the check. The food was good, but I probably won't go back anytime soon because of the service. read more

This location isn't enforcing masks- people may have one on when they walk in, but they're quickly removed. We were also seated much closer than 6 feet to the table beside us. Our waiter was nice but our blooming onion came out with the literal skin / peel on it and it was a terrible surprise every few bites. He didn't offer to comp or remake the onion. My favorite place for Australian cuisine. I kid, I kid! The prices are reasonable. The food is satisfactory. The service can range from not caring to over the top. The atmosphere is relaxing. Bottom line: not a bad balance between price and overall quality. The food: Bloomin' Onion: you just kind of have to get one. Porterhouse: never thought I'd order this, but my wife did and it was quite good. The steaks: I usually go for ribeyes, but they're not worth the extra money at Outback. Stick to the sirloin. Alice Springs Chicken: i'm told its good, but i have a self imposed rule about only ordering steak at a steakhouse. read more

This was the worst food and worst service we have ever had in Auburn/Opelika area. It took an hour to get our order (even though the restaurant was nearly empty). Then, my steak was literally raw (not even all the way browned on the outside), and my fiancées ribs were ice cold. We sent them back, and 20 minutes later got back what seemed to be the exact same dishes, but microwaved. The end result was chewy, unevenly cooked steak and ribs that were, frankly, rancid. The server was clearly not interested in her work and when the manager "Bill" came over her acted annoyed at us and acted pretty rude. There is a longhorn steakhouse less than a mile away- we will go there in the future. This was truly horrible. read more

The service here is always beyond fantastic and the food is delicious & consistent. I live in between Columbus & Opelika and we'll go to Opelika every time when my wife and I are craving some good steak. The staff is very friendly & personable. I like to order my steak medium and it always comes out right in between what I would normally call medium rare & medium (so they may "undercook" your steak a little - read their cooking descriptions before ordering), but that's the perfect temperature for me and I can't get it that way anywhere else. Love the appetizers. Love the raspberry vinaigrette on my salad. Love the atmosphere. The one hiccup ever had at this restaurant is that they forgot to bring out the shrimp we ordered with our steak. We were too busy enjoying the steak to notice until later and the manager brought some extra shrimp out to us on the house. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's more than worth it. One of the beat steaks I have ever had in Auburn. You can not go wrong with this restaurant. Service is always great too.

The food is mediocre at best. I made an online order for over $60. It is a biter pill to swallow knowing you paid this much money for crap. The 8 oz sirloin steak was really 5 oz. I ordered well done, of course I saw red meat in the middle of the steak. The steam veggies were raw veggies that was hard and it wasn't steamed at all. The fries was soggy. WHY PUT FRIES NEXT TO STEAK? There is such thing as separation. The worse part of the meal was the grill chicken. Please if you don't want to waste money, do not order the over seasoned half cooked grill chicken. I will never ever ever go back to OUTBACK. Over priced crap. read more

I placed an order today (1/10/23) at 6:00pm thought your website (Opelika, AL) location for delivery, when my order had not arrived at 8:06pm (was supposed to be delivered at 7:06pm) I called to find out the problem. The food was still sitting waiting to be picked up. I was told I needed to contact a delivery service to get the food. I told the person it was order from your website not someone like (door dash) they were unwilling to help me (the manager). I eventually hung up to discuss situation with my wife, and decided to call back again to have the order cancel and my money refunded. The manager told me she was not able to do that and refused to help me. Thanks for stealing my money and leaving my family without food for the night. This is fraud. As many times as I have eaten at your restaurants and I get treated like this. Rest assured, I will be telling everyone about my experience as I travel for work all over the country and will never eat at Outback again. read more

What a disappointment!! Outback was once a good place to eat. Our waitress could not remember any item we requested and made trip after trip, my drink being the first item she forgot. When our steaks came out, the first words out of my father in law and my mouths were, "these look like the cheap steaks from the meat trucks with a freezer in the back"!! Where to start! Someone below me started that her father in law said these steaks look like the meat came out of the food truck with a freezer in the back and I agree. The steaks look like they came from Walmart and was thrown in a pot of water and boiled, but yet somehow dried out sever. This outback needs to be shut down ASAP. We are sitting in the corner and our neighboring booths have sent back there food including us for being over cooked and wrong. Just like how other reviews have stated they have forgot food items. My mash potatoes have been forgotten. This place is just the worst experience ever. The sight of the steak in how cheap and how shity it was cooked we knew we were in trouble and made a mistake. Do not come here and I hope the outback organization shuts them down ASAP before more customers like me and my family never go to outback again. Horrible. We used to enjoy this Outback 8-10 years ago. The only time we go now is when someone gives us a gift card. Each time we go we swear we're never gonna go back. Got a gift card for Christmas so we went again. Called twice to get on call ahead list. No answer. Mentioned to receptionist that I tried calling. They just shrugged their shoulders. 3 people were standing by the phone. One person was the manager and she seemed very indifferent about anything. No hospitality no nothing. Gave information to get on list. I stood there waiting response after getting on list. No timeframe. No welcome to Outback. Just silence Wait was not to long. Was told we could not have baked potatoes due to problems with the oven. The guy next to us was eating a baked potato. Ordered a beer took forever to get the beer. The beer tasted like it's been sitting in the tap lines for days and was warm. Salad was good. Nothing to brag about the steak. Ordered asparagus could not eat it. And I can eat about anything. My wife ordered some condiments. Never got them. Waitress was trying to get us are check before we even done eating. It's like she was trying to get rid of us. Every time I go there I find myself complaining about the place and wondering why I am there. Seems like there is a management problem with this place. Once again I'm not going back. I absolutely love this place. It can be a bit on the pricey side, but the food is worth it. Make sure you make a reservation or get there early, especially if there is an event in town or the wait can be quite long. Once you are seated the service is quick and the food is great. Yet another horrible experience at this Outback. We figured we'd have to wait since it was NYE but it actually wasn't that crowded when we arrived. We had a bit of a wait despite there being tables available but still, that was fine.  Then baked potatoes were unavailable due to their oven being broken and asked if we'd like mashed potatoes instead. We ordered the same thing, except one with mashed potatoes and one with veggies. Things happen, still good with us. Then our food arrived minus mashed potatoes. As I was eating my fish, a fourth of it gone,  I noticed it being a little cold. I looked down and IT WAS RAW! I mean nasty, pink gooey raw!!! The other person's firsh was done. After I quit eating my fish and was OBVIOUS feeling nauseous from the idea of what I consumed and saw in front on me, the other person was done with his fish, we saw a waiter walking table to table looking for someone that needed mashed potatoes. We waved him over, told him we were pretty much done eating now though. He smarted off ''it took a little longer since they're handmade but at least they're in front of you now, K?". We were taken aback and just silently stared in disbelief. We had been nothing but understanding for the minor inconveniences. Then as our waitress was coming over to take our plates, I showed her as to why I didn't eat the rest of my fish. I told her I didn't want anything else but was informing them. She said she had to show it to the manager regardless. She brought our ticket and they had discounted it and I overheard the table behind me also having their discounts explained. Second try at this place for pickup. Simple order soup and a loaded potato. When i have to come back to get a kit I feel like I wasted the 20% tip paid when I ordered. Wife ordered water and thought it tasted funny. Brought up the concern with the waitress and she agreed that the water in town had something going on with it. Did say she would bring my wife bottled water instead which was great. Wonder why she didn't inform her that the water tasted bad when she ordered it? It was free blooming Monday so we did order that. It tasted very good. Rest of food was fine. I'm a rewards participant so I gave them my number upon checkout. Waitress came back and said they recently changed where only one reward could be used at a time, either the onion or the $20 off. She did take the initiative though to see if her manager would do both since it was new. Manager said no so she went ahead and took the $20. Overall it was just an OK experience.
