After enjoying their food via curbside takeout for the first time, I'm back at Outback Steakhouse to dine in. I came for lunch. The restaurant was not busy so I took a seat at the bar. After glancing at the menu, I placed an order for a strawberry peach refresher and the Toowoomba Salmon. The drink was tasty and the meal was well-prepared. Nicely grilled, seasoned salmon and sauteed shrimp & mushrooms topped with a creamy Creole sauce, served with two sides (mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli). Though I had no intention to drink any cocktails, I ended up ordering an $8 drink called Pina Koala. It was a tasty blend of Bacardi Superior rum, Disaronno Amaretto, coconut and pineapple juice with a cinnamon coated rim. The meal and drinks were thoroughly enjoyed under the restaurant's casual ambiance, and Christopher added to the enjoyment with his satisfactory service and attentiveness. My friend and I were craving steak one Sunday night, and Outback felt like the perfect choice close by and always delicious. When we arrived, the restaurant was packed, but our waitress quickly found us a cozy seat toward the back, which was perfect. We started off with margarita flights, and my favorite was the raspberry flavor it tasted amazing. Next, we tried the potato soup, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. It was my first time having potato soup, and I'll definitely be ordering it again next time. For our main course, we shared the steak and ribs with a side of mac and cheese. The steak was cooked perfectly, the ribs were tender and flavorful, and the mac and cheese had a rich, smoky taste from the Gouda cheese. Seated at 12:45 for lunch. Bartender came to take drink orders at 1:15 as was only waiter for 1/2 restaurant. Second waitress came over at 1:30 and retook drink orders and food order. Finally received drinks and bread at 1:45. Appetizers came at 1:55. At 2:15, bartender came to say our food was delayed. Waitress came over at 2:20 to say she had forgotten to put our food order in. We told her to cancel the order and we left. Very poor service and highly disappointed with poor service, and also did not get my birthday dessert. I came in to order 2 appetizers which I've ordered here before. The chicken Cesar salad which was good as always and some cheese fries.. I noticed the steak promo for $10 to order it dining in while waiting for the appetizers for over 1 hour. I ordered the steak med. Well and had to wait another hour. The steak and Alfredo dish which came out burnt and very small ( the size of a granola bar.) The noodles had no Alfredo Sauce and the cheese fries were cold. They handed me a bag with ranch and butter in it but no bread. I told the manager about this and she said she would "remake the steak because it was overcooked". Got a Bloomin Onion and a 13 Oz ribeye. Bloomin Onion was like normal - delicious for 5 minutes then utterly unbearable to eat after that. I did take the remainder home because my truck leaks about half a quart of oil a month and I figured I could save a few bucks and use the remaining oil from the blooming onion. I estimate I won't have to buy oil until midsummer. Server was either super slow or overworked. I think he brought out bread, otherwise the appetizer and entrees were brought up by some other people in the kitchen. Steak was tiny tiny tiny. Not worth half of what they charged. I will say it was decent though. A little overcooked but they're so thin it's hard to cook them correctly, so that's not on the kitchen. Outback corporate- I'm not interested in contacting you nor do I want an apology. Don't bother with a response just giving my review for other people who might go there Edit-its been about 2 hrs. I stopped in here for happy hour and had a few beers because I hadn't been to this outback it's a fairly new one and it's really nice inside, fresh and clean and a nice bar area.They have some nice specials different nights of the week. I ended up eating dinner here because I saw they had a three course meal which is good any night of the week for $16.99, came with soup or salad, your entrée, which they have five or six choices. I had a sirloin steak and a baked sweet potato, and then you get cheesecake for dessert with either raspberry or chocolate topping. and of course you always get there. So I decided to go to Outback Steakhouse tonight and get a steak which I don't eat too often. I sat at the bar because I went by myself. The bartender said hi but she never even told me her name. I asked about a few things and she answered my questions. I decided to order a bone in ribeye with soup and salad as the sides. As she placed the order, she asked me if I wanted the soup and salad first and I said yes, I was expecting that. No big deal right? I wait about probably realistically 12 or 13 minutes which is not unexpected and the soup and salad finally arrive. I don't even think I took the first bite. It was literally within 15 seconds of the soup and salad hitting the table. I saw the size of both and I told the waitress please make sure the steak does not come out too soon. I expected to be able to eat the soup and salad before a hot steak would arrive at the table. Anyways, just as I'm saying that to her she looks over my shoulder. I look back in here is the steak. At that point real frustration begins. How do you serve a soup and salad and immediately bring a $31 steak to the table? So the waitress says listen if you want let me know and we'll keep it in the back so it stays warm and I'll grab it when you're ready. I'm not happy but I say OK. Within three minutes, somebody else is bringing the steak to the table. Is this the way outback operates? No wonder it's a three star restaurant. I usually never eat in a restaurant below 3 1/2 stars on yelp because of my former experience as a restaurant owner and knowing what my expectations are when I spend good hard earned money at a restaurant. Got about five or six minutes of thinking about this I realize I'm not paying $31 for a steak that has been carried to and from the table twice and is sitting in a hotbox while waiting for me to finish my soup and salad. Mind you, I ordered the steak, medium rare, and by the time it would have come to the table it probably would've been medium well if not well done. What really blew me away about this experience was the waitress actually laughing while telling the other waitress to tell the manager that I didn't want the steak. The manager never came to me to apologize or say anything. Really? So that was officially my last experience at outback steakhouse ever! I'll do business with people who actually get it! This is their new location in Lighthouse Point they closed the one near my house in Fort Lauderdale. Their cocktail menu looks good, I almost had the mango spicy Margarita but thought it might be too spicy for me. They are great place to go for cocktails as they're mostly $7, cheap! My friends both had steaks and I went with the ribs. I liked the barbecue sauce on the ribs and they were good, however i would have liked them to have been a little meatier. The french fries and mixed vegetables were good as well. The three of us shared one of their desserts which was really good. It had a chocolate brownie on the bottom, then strawberries their butter cake, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on top with walnuts. Our waiter was attentive, great service. read more

Since this is a brand new restaurant (built from the ground up) in a different city (Lighthouse Point vs Fort Lauderdale), this by rights should be a NEW review and not an update. This NEW restaurant has only been open less than one month. There is ample parking. The stand alone building on the corner of Sample and US 1(federal highway) is in stark contrast to the strip of stores behind it. Inside, everything is gleaming and spacious. It's an open format with regular tables and high tops. We came for an early lunch between errands and appointments. We sat at the bar. We had very good and friendly service. They have their regular menu, and some featured specials, but the lunch section of the menu was definitely the right choice. My husband had their prime rib sandwich. It's listed as "lunch size" which we guessed was a bit smaller than their regular one. The "prime rib" was sliced thin and layered inside a crusty toasted roll with grilled mushrooms and onions and provolone. Served along side is a horseradish sauce and some "au jus". He chose mashed potatoes as his side. It looked very appealing. He really liked it. I ordered their 6 oz. Sirloin steak done Pittsburgh blackened style. I upgraded to asparagus for my side, my steak was cooked perfectly -- nicely charred on the outside and medium rare inside. And it was absolutely delicious! I'd get this again exactly. I dont recall the last time I ate inside an Outback. But ---I give this location credit especially during this crisis we are all experiencing. The order came pipping hot. Inside I found a ceasar salad very crisp with dressing on the side. My 14 oz NY Strip steak was cook to my liking, just perfectly ..pink on the inside---with sauted mushrooms on the side. My sweet potato was ready all I needed to do was apply the butter and brown sugar on top .... and butter my roll. The meal was absolutely, without a doubt perfection. And what made this even more special was it was a surprise for me.... I had no idea. .......so to find this meal to my exact liking was even more enjoyable to me. Outback took much pride and care in preparing and delivering my meal. They needed to follow the suggested instructions to make sure my steak was presented the way I would enjoy it the most. Horrible!!!!! Full rack of baby back ribs and a half rack in the trash. So much seasoning it was like eating straight salt. Meat fell off the done but only because it was so dry it was looking for a glass of water to land in. Oh and the prices went up again and food quality dropped. SUCKS!!!!!!!! This location has been here for more than 20 years and is overall a very consistently good location. Occasional glitches. But definitely 4 star worthy. I feel like over the years their prices have remained reasonable and food quality, along with portion sizes have stayed above average. We often do not have to wait for a table, if there is a wait, try to grab a spot at the bar or surrounding booths. I like the new menu additions, especially the fried mushrooms and my son loves the Bloomin Fried Chicken. I usually get the sirloin and add shrimp. Plenty of options to choose from! read more

Look no one goes to Outback expecting it to be NY Prime or Abe & Louie's. If you set your expectations properly (dinner for two with tip around $100 vs a high end steak house where you're looking at double or triple that). Food was good, prime rib was over cooked but manager made it right. Wife got the steak with chicken alice, aspargas was over cooked and couldn't swallow it just kept chewing and chewing and finally spit it out lol. Calling my fellow WFPB eaters who think you can't come to a steakhouse with your family... Well, you absolutely can come to Outback Pompano Beach and not only be "accommodated" with a salad but be provided with an amazing meal! Our server, Brandon, listened with care and concern for my needs. Owner, Ken, personally made my meal. Manager, Joey, came by to ensure all was well. I asked for a simple baked potato with the veggies on top and could they maybe add mushrooms? I was presented with a huge baked potato, surrounded by sautéed carrots, zucchini, summer squash, onion, and green beans with their burgundy mushrooms. No butter! They would have even made it for me with no oil had I needed it to be oil-free. Please bring your family and enjoy not having to worry about whether your dietary needs will be filled. A pro in regards to taking care of his section. I never had to ask for anything. He was always coming around asking me if I needed anything. I ordered the Chicken Breast with mixed vegetables and too be honest the Chicken was great. Moist, flavorful and the price was right ($13.99). I rarely ever order Chicken at any restaurant as it tends to be overcooked, dry and flavorless. This Chicken breast was very good. The Broccoli was fresh, crunchy and not overcooked. I don't like overcooked mushy vegetables. I have been to this location over the years at least 4 other times and I never had any issues. Pretty consistent for an outback. Came to this location with a few friends after we all for whatever reason were craving steak. I do enjoy a big hunk of meat every now and again, and why not get it from your neighborhood Outback, right? For some reason or another, Outback kind of has a reputation, and not a great one, but honestly, everything here was good. Okay, so the inside of this place could use a makeover though. It's pretty dark feeling with the type of lights they use and everything being wood. Not very stylish, but it's your standard Outback décor so live with it I suppose? They've added a bunch of new menu items including that blooming onion that has steak and fries on top of it. Whoever thought of that, I tip my hat to you. Service this evening wasn't the greatest. He was a little slow, especially when it came to refills. We'd have to remind him about the reminder we gave him to get us a new drink. Could have been an off night. In general he was really friendly, just not very attentive even though it didn't seem particularly busy. The ribeye I had was cooked perfectly to my liking which is key. Nothing worse than ordering your steak medium and it coming back well done. We split an appetizer platter which was plenty of food for three people. I don't think there are many (steak) places that will feed three people for $60ish bucks, but the Outback did. The food was great. The portions were large.
