Very disappointing. Came in for diner tonight and ordered cocktails. On three different occasions out server, Danny came over and asked if we were ready to order our entrees. I respondent each time to bring our initial order and I would order when ready. Bread was brought over after a 25 minute wait. Finally a different server came by and told us that our cocktails would be over as soon as Danny was done assisting at the bar. I left $3.00 for the butter and bread and left. To many restaurants in the area that offer a $30.00 bone in ribeye on a potentially $120.00 tab and offer stellar service. read more

Ordered one of the new wood fired ribeye steaks after having one in another city 2 weeks ago and having a foodgasm over it. This time was quite disappointing. It was either not a ribeye cut or was cooked so long that all of the marbly goodness was rendered out of the meat (a medium order arrived well done). Unfortunately the waitress didn't check on me for at least 20 minutes. I tried to eat what was prepared and not complain, but all I could stomach was the grilled asparagus (quite yummy). I have never had a bad experience eating in. It's literally my favorite Outback, BUT curbside and delivery are a mess. So a great friend of mine can't get enough of this place. I've been here a dozen times, mostly with him, and it is always just a little better than the normal chain family friendly steak place. That makes it a solid option for business dinners, meeting friends from out of town, etc. It's not my preferred type of restaurant because their model is to do what most other places are doing only perhaps a little better. I prefer finding places that are doing something different, but for that other type of place you can't do much better than Outback in Shelton. read more

I had only been to Outback once before, and it didn't really impress me, but my visit tonight changed my mind COMPLETELY. Their new blue cheese pecan salad was an interesting, but wonderful creation. I've always hated salmon and was very hesitant to try it, but I was pleasantly surprised with their Toowoomba Shrimp Topped Salmon; the sauce over it was a beautiful compliment to both the shrimp and salmon. The sirloin was amazing alongside the Honey Sriracha ribs, which also were absolutely to die for. The double chocolate mini dessert parfait was so delicate and flavorful and left me wanting more. The wait staff were beyond friendly and helpful which made the experience even more enjoyable. Be sure to ask them about wine and beer pairings for the course you choose, they helped me pick the perfect combination that made my meal better than I thought possible. I highly recommend that you visit Outback Steakhouse for their new menu items. You certainly won't regret it!! read more

This was my first visit to an Outback since 1996. I was pleasantly surprised. We went on a Thursday evening around 6PM / 6.30 Pm and were seated without delay. Our waiter Michael was thoroughly professional and really set the tone for the evening. The obligatory Bloomin' Onion was "OK". The side salads and potato (baked with "YES" and the garlic mashed) were all very good. We each ordered the 10 oz Sirloin, which were perfectly cooked and a stellar value at the Throwback price of $14. I'll be back here soon. read more

I ordered curbside to go. We ordered a rack of baby back ribs, cheese fries, burger, sweet potatoes fries and a slice of carrot cake. Our bill came up to about $48. The slice of carrot cake was $8 and was small (totally overpriced. I could have gotten a whole carrot cake for $8). The full rack of baby back ribs was tiny. All the food was packed in Styrofoam containers. The portions were very small and the quality was poor. Although the curbside customer service was very nice, the portions and quality of the food was terrible. I would not go back there and pay $48 for the amount of food and quality that we got. I am giving Outback five stars today for the great job they did with my first delivery order. The ordering process was easy and went smoothly. The confirmation stated it would arrive with a 10 minute window. The order was actually delivered a few minutes early. The steaks were cooked to perfection and tasty and tender. All the food tasted fresh. Everything that was suppose to come with the order was actually there...down to the butter and sour cream. We did not expect the service to be as good (being a chain restaurant) but on each occasion the staff has had quite an attention to detail. The food has been good and consistent from visit to visit. The food here is decent here at the Shelton Outback Steakhouse. The service however, needs more training. The staff here needs to learn more about food allergies, which is more common in most restaurants now, and how to problem solve. Then our bill at the bar had an extra drink on it that we did not order, and we missed getting sat down at the table we were waiting for because they accidenlty skipped over our name on the waiting list. For desert I had the chocolate thunder from down under which was $8 dollars... and it had a piece of plastic wrapping in it. With many mistakes going on at the same time, it would be clear to say that a restaurant is a complete image of their management. Not bad, but needs help. read more

So we ordered and different waiter brought our food to table next to us. Man says I didn't order this. Waiter takes it but gives his date hers. Waiter takes it back to kitchen, comes back with correct dish. Female then told waiter, that's not her meal either so waiter takes hers back to kitchen. My waiter came, I told him our meal went to other table. He goes to kitchen & other waiter brings meals that were at other table . I told them I'd like a remake as it was sitting on someone's table while they talked over it. He apologized; manager apologized n offered free desserts. Food came back Luke warm, steaks not cooked to order and dry! I will never go back!!!! Meals were comped, but we paid for our salads and shrimp that we did eat. I have been going to this Outback for at least 10 years and tonight we tried to do take out and it was the WORST take out I have ever gotten. WAY over priced. The Bloomin Onion looked like it was cooked four hours prior. We received it room temperature and it was very mushy. The Alice Springs Chicken was pathetic looking and it didn't come with Aussie Fries as stated in the menu. The menu states soup or salad comes with all entrees so when we picked our salad dressing we assumed we would still get the fries, according to them the salad was a substitute. As for the salads, two of us ordered large salads as an entree and they were the same size as the side salads that came with the other entrees. Overall, DO NOT RECOMMEND getting take out from Outback. read more

Great experience at Outback tonight. My boyfriend and I haven't visited an outback in 5+ years and we were pleased to find it was just as good as we remembered...If not better. We shared the bloomin onion which was delicious as always. We both enjoyed our entree as well and had plenty of leftovers to take home. This has a great location in a shopping plaza , with its own parking lot. In typical Outback fashion they open the door for you when you arrive and are extremely polite. They have a good deal of booth seating which I think most people prefer. In my times here I have always had attentive and animated servers which truly adds to the experience. While there is an up charge I appreciate you can buy bottles of wine from them to take home, awesome!! I have go-to's on the menu and I am never disappointed. I have also done drive up pick up and they always get the order right and I never wait. It's convenient, pleasant staff and priced right, what's not to like!! read more

Well my rare steak was well done, my potato was undercooked and mealy, and my coconut shrimp went missing. My wife found her steak done correctly and her potato was cooked and her shrimp on the bar by arrived with her order. But she also had two Margaritas which no doubt mellowed her mood.
