Initial impressions not so good Service slow, expected salads out quickly but got an apology for slow kitchen?? Huh? How does that effect a salad plus it is hardly crowded. I would give less if i could. We have been here before hence our return only to be let down. First time was 3 1/2 stars food was pretty good but the wait staff is lacking. No different this time only whoever was cooking a few weeks ago was not there today. Mediocre food at best. Baby portions. Not near as good. The part that dropped the two stars they earned to one would be the giant party of noisy individuals that were parked in front of us. Place smells like old moldy gross rugs mixed with an overflowing toilet, which doesn't make sense because they don't even have rugs. We should have left when we walked in and smelled it but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt bc Outback (other locations) is usually clean and offers a satisfying meal. Ordered 2 entree salads and 2 kids chicken tenders with fruit. Could barely eat the salads bc most of the lettuce was discolored. The kids chicken breading was super gross.. like the fryer oil needs to be changed or it was fried 3 days ago and left under a warmer. The fruit was soggy and very old looking. The only reason I gave 2 starts and not 1 is because our waiter was friendly. I can't get that smell out of my nose and it's been an hour since we left. Never again. read more

I love Outback. I always get the same items on the menu and sometimes it's hit or miss, but our recent visit to the Woodlands location was definitely a hit. The service was excellent and perfectly timed (not too frequent visits to the table but not too infrequent visits either) and the food was cooked well. This was my first time visiting this location so I was quite happy to have an all around good experience. About a year ago (or maybe it was 2 years ago), Outback changed its menu to incorporate their 'wood-fired' selections. Now what happened at the same time was that they changed my No Rules Pasta as well. Changed by adding tomatoes (which they do not actually list on the menu for some strange reason), and the additional items (ie, chicken or shrimp) are cooked by 'wood-fire' as opposed to classic. Now, I hate tomatoes and I don't care for the 'wood-fired' which essentially means I become that person that has 'modifications' to an menu item. What is great about Outback, is that they are okay with it (and of course I always ask in my nicest voice). They are able to make me the pasta without the tomatoes (which totally overwhelm the dish if you do get them), and they are happy to cook the chicken the 'classic' way. This is my favorite item on the menu and the fact that they do this means that I keep coming back. As usual, we ordered wings and they were cooked just right and came out piping hot. Salads were good (although they do look a little smaller than normal). My husband ordered the Teriyaki Filet Medallions and while he said that they were cooked well, he didn't think that there were enough of them. Now, for those who just eat the meat (like my husband) then I can see this issue. But the medallions were served on a bed of rice with grilled peppers and red onions. He didn't care for the peppers and onions because he said that they were overcooked. So if you only want the meat I suggest getting something that is more meat and less veggies. Or as our server suggested, order a steak with the Teriyaki sauce, because it's okay to ask for special modifications. read more

We're new to Houston and have been actively exploring restaurants. Everything from BYOB Thai to Da Marco and Underbelly. I have to say, our treatment at Outback was the warmest of anyplace we've been here. Not saying the food blew us away (although the food pricing is certainly reasonable), but everyone from the front door, to the bar staff, the waitress, and manager who came by our table, all could not have been nicer. Our expectations were low-it is after all a chain restaurant on a highway. And the mostly family crowd there would seem like it should take a hard toll on the staff-but they all seemed upbeat and ready to take it on. Went last night for dinner with my husband.. Had a terrible experience. We have not been to Outback in awhile because the last time we ate there, it was just Okay. Not worth the money! After our experience last night, we will NOT be going back! Our server, was miserable, and obviously not happy serving guests! She had NO personality and made us feel like we were not welcomed to eat in her section.. no smiling, not nice, very abrupt, non attentive. It took over 30 minutes for our blooming onion to be served, took over hour for our dinner, Our whole dining experience was over 2 1/2 hours long.. AND the FOOD was TERRIBLE!!! My prime rib was supposed to be 8oz.. it looked more like 4 oz. it was a THIN FATTY sliver of prime rib! I asked for horseradish sauce,, she said they don't serve that, and brought me horseradish, i asked for side of sour cream and mixed the sauce up myself! She asked if I wanted her to take back my prime rib? really?? She informed me I had taken the last piece of prime rib. and if I wanted a manger to stop by.. really? Well, Justin, the manager stopped by.. He questioned my MARBLED PRIME RIB.. MARBLED PRIME RIB?? REALLY?? How about FATTY PRIME RIB!! No help at all! He suggested anther slice of meat, however our server said they were out! I just wanted to get our check and leave! That took another 30 minutes.. upon leaving, we passed by Justin, and he ignored us, didn't acknowledge us, no "have a nice evening, or Thanks for coming in!" OMG.. Outback is not the same Restaurant is was years ago!! Will not be back.. Thank goodness we had gift cards, the only reason that brought us back.. It confirmed why we do not choose Outback for dinner. Started off as a wonderful night. Our server was fantastic. The food was great. Heres why it gets 1 star. Around 9 o'clock there was a commotion that interrupted alot of things. A server named Stephen (I overheard the name) cursed at another server near the bar area and threatened him. Arguments ensued, and the servers were seperated. I heard some more commotion along with a server saying I quit. I dont have the whole story and I am not about to pick sides as I do not know these gentleman. I do know that my Father's Day meal was interrupted and it didn't look good for the store. I am sure the management team did everything they could to restore order. This is not on them. What bothered me, is that if someone can curse out a fellow team member and threaten him, what is to stop him if I had a complaint about my meal? Is this the example you want for your store? Either way it's a shame. I won't say I'm not coming back. I don't think it's fair to exclude a company because one person made a "mistake" and I could see that management was trying to handle it. I just know that we definitely won't be asking for Stephen. This first review was going to be about how I enjoyed my evening and my server. This chain restaurant offers low quality food and the service is awful. I commented on their website on how the service was and food were not good and the manager or owner called me to apologize and sent us $20 gift card to go there again. He said that he would make sure our food would be outstanding next time. Went back like a month later asked for the manager Or owner Jason and he greeted us he asked me to remind him about what the complaint was originally and I said the French fries were soggy, salad was tasteless and that the quality of food overall was bad for the $60 we spent there. He said that they ordered a new French frier and that he agreed he their fries weren't good but yet they serve them still. My husband and I went to Outback for our date night. At first the service was great as always. Our server Zach took our drink order and appetizer order. When he returned we had looked over menu and were ready to order our entrees. My husband ordered the full rack of BBQ ribs and I ordered my favorite Victorian Filet. When the food came out it turned into horror. My steak was over half nothing but pure fat that looked like it had been nuked in the microwave and put on my plate and my husbands ribs while hot on the surface were still frozen in the middle. When the server came back around I respectfully let him know that this was unacceptable. He took our plates from the table and stated that he would get it fixed right away. About 5 minutes the later the manager Jason came to the table and offered us salads and soup until the meal came instead of offering to comp the meal. Once the meal did arrive take two my steak was still nothing but half fat...thank god for steamed broccoli and wedge salad or i would have starved. My husbands ribs were hot however all the way through though. My husband and I thinking okay manager came over spoke with stated that he would get some soup or salad and take care of the bill. Well we finished what we could and thinking that all we would be responsible for was our order of cheese fries for appetizer and our waters we were horrified when the server put our tab on the table and it was not at all what we were expecting. They charged us full price for our lousy meal. I ended up coming home and making myself some dinner so that I would not have hunger pains. I do not know if or when we will ever return to Outback this was by far the worst experience we have ever had at Outback. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

We come to this location roughly once per month and it is a go to kind of place with consistent food and service. Friday night was not that usual experience. It was early so just lightly busy for a Friday night. We were seated right away and the hostess was warm and friendly. The waiter was young and greeted us right away. I ordered the steak and lobster with a salad and my husband had the ribeye. The food was mediocre at best. The steak was maybe 2 ounces at best and the lobster was 4 bits for $27. I understand shrinkage as I cook a lot but really? My husbands steak was all grizzle and the asparagus was flavorless. The waiter gave us our check half way thru our meal. I even asked him if he was in a hurry. He said no and returned in 5 minutes to collect payment. We were still eating. It will be some time before we try again. This time we didn't get our salads or bread , after waiting without the server even checking on us , they bring us cold steak and ribs . My friend and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with a total of 4 children expecting a long wait but surprisingly there wasn't one. The hostess greeted us promptly and was friendly with our children who were all over the place of course. We were shown to our table where our server, Donald, greeted us to take our drink orders. I ordered the seared ahi tuna which is my favorite appetizer here and it was delicious as usual. I highly recommend this appetizer however it is rare in the middle and some people don't care for that. The flow of service was perfect and timely. He asked if we would like our kids meals to come out first which we really appreciated. When it came time for me to order, I had an idea of what I wanted but Donald made some suggestions for a garlic butter blend and grilled lobster tail to accompany my filet that ended up really making the meal fantastic. Twenty minutes later, one of the managers came and informed us there was an error on the appetizer, and it had been reordered ... five minutes later it came, with the main course. My date's order was totally incorrect ... meat too done, mashed potatoes and baked potato, instead of smothered mushrooms and fried shrimp. Shrimp was brought "right from the pan" cold, and mushrooms brought after most of steak was consumed. Complained, and was told we were part of the 'learning curve". We decided to come here after a big debate about where we to go for dinner. The service is great and the waiters are funny. We were happy when we saw a waitress coming for us a minute after we sat down, and we were asked if we wanted any drinks. We got our drinks pretty quickly. The food is great. They got all of the food out in front of us quickly (again) and their steak is amazing. Our kids loved it as well. They got everything in front of us quickly. The standard of this Outback has gone down considerably. Our server was good and their hot bread is always good, the entre however was extremely disappointing. We ordered the prime roast beef, the salmon, and baby back ribs. After waiting 45 minutes to receive the food, the salmon was luke warm and the prime beef along with its sides were stone cold. When I complained to our server she told her manager, the manager first offered to heat the food up, then offered a replacement meal. I am always reluctant to accept things that are sent back to the kitchen as you never know what happens to it. The steak was taken off the bill which I then paid and left .Will I ever return to this restaurant, absolutely not. If a steakhouse cannot provide food at a proper temperature then there is something very wrong with the way it is managed. read more
