Our server was friendly, checked in a few times, and overall gave good service throughout the meal. Taste We started with the mozzarella sticks--nothing special but they were served hot and fresh. For the main course, we had the baby back ribs and a steak. Both were just okay, not much flavor and definitely felt like something we could've made better at home. The mashed potatoes were decent, but the mac and cheese had no flavor at all. Surprisingly, the dessert (brownie with ice cream) was the highlight--warm, rich, and hit the spot. Ambiance The restaurant was pretty empty, so it was quiet and relaxed. Lots of booths and open space, typical casual chain restaurant vibe. It's good for low-key dinners or last-minute plans. Recommendation Outback isn't somewhere I'd rush back to for a memorable meal, but if you're looking for something simple and nearby, it's fine. This is an amazing Outback location. It is newer and the steak, sides, and drinks were amazing and much better than our mediocre delivery from the Hyattsville location before this one opened. The manager and service are great too and they comped part of our entree when the side was later which was unexpected, unnecessary, and appreciated. I've loved Outback for years. Today not so much. The staff are still friendly. The ambiance is the same. The food is not. My last 2 visits I had the salmon. I always say not to overcook. But once again the salmon was like eating cardboard. My partner had the prime rib. It was cold. And not the temperature he had requested. Frankly I can make a bad steak or salmon at home. We came here last night for the soft opening and had a great time. I don't say this often but the staff... Like literally everyone was pretty amazing and full of positive energy. Shout out to our server Ian for being cheerful and checking on us. Even as we left, everyone was saying bye and holding doors for us. We ordered rum punch and a pina colada for drinks, medium steak with sweet potato and seasonal veggies, Mac and cheese, and the Tim Tam brownie cake. I enjoyed my drink and the Mac and cheese was amazing. There were some minor hiccups but nothing that deterred from an awesome experience. We wanted two orders of the seasonal veggies but got one order of fresh veggies and another of the seasonal veggies. Not a big deal since everything was great. We also were told more bread would come out but we were asked again if we wanted bread during the end of the meal. At that point we were ready for the bill. The Mac and cheese came after my boyfriend was finished with his steak but again, all minor things compared to the service, kindness and positive vibes. We agreed they have a nice selection of drinks that don't put a hole through our wallet, and the food is good. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak. The bread was warm and fresh and free. Just came back from a happy hour with a gf of mine here and I had a really great experience! I typically don't expect much from the ruby tuesday/applebee/Outback Steakhouse chain of restaurants but when I tell you?! Impeccable service. We walked in and they opened the door for us, and the staff there greeted us like royalty! Bartender was extremely attentive in checking in with us and all the surrounding staff striked up conversation with us. I didn't eat anything cause I had eaten lunch not too long before, but I got their blackberry martini and it was yummy (and calorie friendly :)) All and all I really enjoyed my time here. Had a great midweek dinner at Outback in Silver Spring. One thing to note is that there is not mall entrance just one from the outside. I wish I remembered our servers name because he was awesome. Currently pregnant and my partner and I arrived hungry and bless our server for bringing out plenty of bread (very similar to Cheesecake Factory brown bread). The restaurant is clean and still fairly new just not as big as many of the other Outbacks I've been to. Big enough though! Pictures of our food are attached. Forgot to get a pic of the wings we had as an appetizer but everything we ate was delicious and well seasoned. I will definitely be back. It's close enough to make this a nice biweekly dinner. Parking is available in a garage around the corner so this would make a good weeknight happy hour. read more

My server asked me what I was in the mood for, and I replied a big steak. He recommended the bone in Ribeye. What he didn't let me know was that the Ribeye has about 25% fat. I'm not a big Steak fan, but I like Steak. After I trimmed most of the fat from my Steak, I kept asking my server, which would remain name less. Is this normally the amount of fat from this type of Steak,he said that he could get one of his Managers. When he left, one of the managers walked by,Gary. I asked Gary the same question, and he said yes, that's what the fat content looks like in a Bone in Ribeye,then he took the plate and said that he would show it to the cook. Now I'm confused if that's what the fat content should look like,Why show it to the cook??? What I didn't notice was that Miss Olga kept asking me if I needed anything or if everything was okay. Until the 3rd time she passed by,I was so disappointed that I didn't say anything. Then I realized I was wrong for not replying to her. She was speaking with a coworker close by with her back to me,I asked the coworker to get Miss Olga's attention. After speaking with Miss Olga, not only did she go above and beyond, I had to change 2 stars to 4 stars. Miss Olga reminded me of me when I worked at a Hospital, no matter what you did, customer service was everyone's job. Miss Olga knew the universal look for disappointment or that something was wrong. I really enjoyed this location atmosphere in downtown Silver Spring. The server was trying they best to make sure I would walk out with a better experience. I don't blame the server for not knowing everything about the steaks unless that's part of the training and forgot. I was looking for size and taste, but next time, I will educate myself. This should be a 2-star review, but my server really seems concerned even after the bad recommendations, so they get half a star, and Miss Olga gets a star and a half to make it 4 stars. Started off good until.......the waitress got busy and then service went to crap. It took her 30 minutes to check on us and then she forgot to put order in, so another 15 minutes went by before I got my food and it salty and disgusting. Food was excellent, service was interesting. I think we got a unexperienced server. He was really awkward. We got the shrimp on the barbie and steak, house salad and everything was perfect but the odd comments from the server about how we liked out "free bread" made us feel like we were cheapskate, lol. We gave a $20 tip on a $70 tab which to me was a good tip. The server awkwardly stood there silently and said , oh wow..I thought the tip was going to be bigger, which was pretty rude. And then he took his apron off and said he was going home now. The food and ambiance was great. I was less impressed with the service. Hopefully the service changes cause it's the closest Outback steakhouse to me. This is my new go-to Outback! The food and service was great. The hostess gave me detailed information about the specials and the waitress took my order quickly. It was rather slow so the food came out hot and fresh! I ordered the Kookaburra wings which were picture perfect (unfortunately I forgot to take a pic)! They were fried to perfection and tasted amazing. My salad was fresh and my steak was cooked perfectly. They handed out samples for various things so I know what I might order next time. Only thing I'll say is that some of the food was just overly salty. This is my buddy's and myself first time in this area trying out an Outback Steakhouse and we are just blown away. The hostess was super friendly and sat us down and made us feel super welcome. Afterwards, our server-LEON came to ask us what we wanted to start off with in such a polite and welcoming manner. The cleanliness of the place is also on point and I truly appreciate an establishment that has all these qualities. The restroom was super clean for it being the end of the night. Lastly, the food was everything I expected. The sirloin was done medium rare as I asked for and the shrimp on the barbie seasoned just right. The food was wonderful. The steak was a bit salty but I'm sure it's not like that often and I had minor bad luck. Other than that the steak was very good and cooked just the way I liked it. Second the potato was very good. As always I get a baked potato with my steak (because it's the best potato obviously) and it was very good. Now the service. The server was great and very friendly. The manager of this Outback is Calvin and he needs to train every employee that works for Outback. I have eaten at Outbacks in multiple states for years and no one has ever taken the time during a pick up to remove every item in the bag to confirm everything is correct. It was extremely effective because I realized I had selected side of grilled shrimp instead of coconut shrimp, which was completely my problem. Regardless, he let us keep the grilles shrimp and immediately called in a whole order of coconut shrimp. Within moments, another staff member approached and informed us that the shrimp would be out in 5 minutes. Five minutes later, the manager returnex with the coconut shrimp and I was on my way ready to share my experience with everyone, which I normally never do becuase my experience is never superb enough for me to stop and share. And being as though we had not been to Outback in forever we were unsure what to order besides steak and he lead us off with some recommendations. Unfortunately, I only came here because of the 4 star review. I actually can't stand Outback because the food is terrible but I went for my nephews graduation. We have 5 kids in our party and I ordered for all of them. I specifically asked for honey mustard for the children & received BBQ sauce instead ?? I ordered the Queensland pasta, with shrimp only. While placing my order I specifically asked for a lemon to be cut in half so that I can use it on my food. However, I was brought ONE LEMON WEDGE FOR A FULL PLATE OF PASTA. I thought I was being pranked because no way they cut 1 slice and brought it to the table. I even said "PLEASE CUT A WHOLE LEMON IN HALF, AND BRING IT TO ME" LMAO outrageous !!!! I hate this place for so many reasons but the lack of reading comprehension is insane. The server even read the order over to us and it accounted for everything I asked for. But for some reason the kitchen staff ignored everything we asked for and I had to wait for sauce for 5 kids ! My pasta came out with the sauce on the side !! Who asked for that !? September 2024 was my first time visiting an Outback Steakhouse, and my experience was absolutely phenomenal. I was served by this young man name Ayandza. He was so kind and so professional. He anticipated our needs, gave us excellent recommendations for drinks and food, and was so polite and engaging.
