I love Outback but hadn't tried out this location before today. We did call-ahead seating and only had to wait about ten minutes. Our waitress brought us bread first and no water, and we did have to wait a bit for water, but after that she was excellent - she brought us refills and extra bread without even being asked. I ordered the 8 oz Outback center cut steak with mashed potatoes and a house salad, and everything was tasty. We also split an order of the Bushman shrooms, which are always tasty - the dipping sauce and the batter are the same as the Bloomin' Onion. My only complaint about this Outback is that the bathroom stalls are really small... It was hard to get in and out of them. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant. As a rule I don't usually order seafood at a steak restaurant as it never comes out right. The lobster tail was so good! One of the best I've had. Juicy and buttery goodness. I always order my steak rare and it seems like no one can ever get it right. They did a great job! Not overcooked at all. Taking a star off bc it took awhile to get our food, and it was a Thursday night, so not that busy. All and all a good experience tho. read more

What a Great experience! We were immediately greeted and sat at our favorite server's table (Lou) We ordered a blooming onion which tasted awesome. After our blooming onion our salads arrived (see photo). The presentation is right up there with a 5 star restaurant. Next came the entrees which tasted just as good as they looked. Just after Halloween in 2019, I went to eat & had lost my driver's license while taking my son to trick or treat. When I gave the server my veteran's ID, a manager showed up to say she didn't believe it because it said "Healthcare" on the card. That's to indicate I'm a disabled veteran. I returned months later & the same manager was working, who I didn't recognize at first due to my military service-connected disability, where she was obviously aware of who I was & made many inappropriate facial expressions & hushed conversations to the server. I indeed contacted corporate but covid happened immediately after. Idk if she was ever penalized for her disrespectful treatment of me but she had a palpable amount of entitlement & privileged around her. My new favorite place! The last few months, I have been making up for 33 years worth of missing out on Outback. We have had a couple of mishaps, but they are more than willing to fix any and all issues. That on its own is most impressive. Everybody makes mistakes, but being willing to fix them is priceless. I cannot say that enough. They have the best chicken and broccoli of all the restaurants I have been to. The cheesecake is amazing as well. Our kids love the bread that comes with every meal as well. I'm allergic to shellfish, but my daughter tells me their shrimp is delightful. Husband loves the burgers, and our boys love the chicken tenders. There's pretty much something for everybody. Please tell me under new management and that's the reason , because the owner I remember made sure that every product that came out of that kitchen was beautiful! I always had the prime rib at night. Excited for the prime rib French dip.! It was all mushrooms and onion with bits of old beef! Instead of au jus, they were lazy and put out a dish of French onion soup. On top of all the onions already in the sandwich! For $15.49! Traded for the old reliable coconut shrimp! Or should I say , cocktail shrimp. I haven't been to the Southgate location in some time and it's hard to believe this business gets packed. I went there for my twin boys birthdays and we all had dinner. My medium rare prime rib was like leather, my wife's chicken was dried out and my sons sirloins were also very poor cuts of meat. The meat was very bland. Tried going to their site to leave some feedback but they have no area to contact them. Very poor meal for the money I paid. Are used to go here all the time about 10 years ago under a different proprietor and it was a much different experience. read more

Kind of disappointed with the lack of greeting but we will see when we are served whether they will make up for the greeter situation. Typical outback. Usually the service is great but last night around 10:30, our waitress seemed very distracted and she didn't give barely any eye contact because she kept staring at the door while taking our order and I noticed she was doing it to the other tables too. She wasn't really trying to be friendly either. Last night (and other times we've come), our steaks were very undercooked. I asked for medium rare and it was definitely rare with some of it maybe even being raw. My boyfriend asked for it medium and his was cooked similar to mine. We did not inform anyone about it because it was late and we didn't want to have to eat the rest of our meal without the steak. The rest of our food was great but it seems like most times we've been to this outback, our steaks just aren't cooked anywhere close to right. So we ate our steaks and they still tasted okay. We didn't get sick or anything but it's just disappointing that our steaks are almost never cooked right when we go to outback. My lobster tail, on the other hand, was delicious as I've been craving sea food in the worst way lately. Also, for once, the bread that they give you to start with was exceptionally good. The reason I say "for once" is because usually this part of the meal is just blah for some reason. Today at outback my friends and I decided we were gonna eat after a long day of golf. We put our name on the online waiting list so we could go get changed and ready. We even thought coming at 8 would be better to avoid the wait. When we got here to check in, they told us that even though we had our name on the list we would still have to wait the same amount of time as anyone else. Then when we thought it was our time to sit, they called 2 parties that arrived after us, causing us to wait even longer. It took at least 15 mins for our waitress to even address us, take our drink orders and appetizers. our appetizer came out and we pulled a hair out of it. it then took an extra 45 mins to have our food come out. Very unpleased with this restaurant and probably will go to texas roadhouse next time instead. BUT our waitress made sure we had full drinks at all times. so that was good read more

I came on a busy Saturday night and had to wait 30 minutes but was treated with a sample of complimentary volcano shrimp. Delicious! I ordered the 6oz sirloin and the strawberry sangria. My advice to you - GET THE SANGRIA! Holy cow it was so good. I'm not a big drinker but I drank that fast. As always, their sirloin is delicious and juicy!! Matthew B was our server He was very attentive and professional. I would say he was outstanding but then all the servers there are that good. Their servers are top-notch. I've eaten there maybe 35 to 45 times through the years. Heck I even proposed to my wife in this restaurant 16 years ago. The steaks have always been good. But five years ago or so, probably longer, they added a wood-fired cooking process. Since then at least some of their steaks are wood-fire cooked which really makes the Outback "steakhouse" moniker accurate. I usually order a very specifically cooked steak. It's not super complicated, but it takes a little extra care in the kitchen to not over-cook it. I ask for medium-rare doneness Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh style means the outside needs to be charred with almost a burnt look, while the inside is quite pink. This is not easy to do as I know from making them at home myself. But at home of course I don't have ten steaks an hour to keep track of. Many lower end places with steaks haven't even heard of a Pittsburgh steak. But this Outback never blinks its eye and always knows what that means. What's more - charred outside/pink inside is difficult to do as I said. This Outback has only missed the mark once in all those visits and immediately fixed it. If you have never been to an Outback, please make sure you try their famous Bloomin' Onion appetizer. read more

We went on a Saturday night around 6;30. Had an hour wait due to staffing shortages. Didn't quite take an hour to be seated for the 4 of us. Initially, we had an inexperienced waitress and things weren't looking good. Hubby quietly talked to the hostess, saying he didn't want to get the new server in trouble. He pointed out 2 things that's happened as soon as we sat down and ordered. Next thing you know, the manager came over with her prize server! What a difference Mary made in turning our night into an awesome experience. Three of the 4 of us got steak and it was awesome. The other person got grilled chicken and it was yummy. Hubby got the carrot cake for dessert and said it was the best he'd ever had. I split the butter cake with strawberries and whipped cream with my SIL and it was to die for.
