This place has really gone down hill . Was here Sunday night with a party of 8. Made orders and didn't see server for half hour. Had to walk to bar to get more drinks. Forgot our soups and salads. Eww! No. Won't be back. I ordered the Great Barrier Trio to start. The Ahi Tuna with a drizzle of ginger-soy dressing was ok but has WAY too much dressing. The crispy Coconut Shrimp was fine, oily but fine. The Crab & Avocado Stack served with tortilla chips was awful. Very strong fishy flavor. Could barely choke it down. Then I had the sesame salad with tuna. Tuna was good. The sesame vinaigrette was beyond awful. Worst thing I have ever tasted in my life! Tasted like burnt vegetable oil. Thank goodness I asked for it on the side. I traded for a balsamic vinaigrette. It was good but the salad itself was plain iceberg with 2 green pepper slices and a little red cabbage. It tasted old. You would have to add so much vinaigrette to cover the bad taste it defeats the purpose of getting something healthy. read more

We were at Longhorn last night in Jacksonville so tonight we decided on Outback. What a horrible mistake!!! Our waiter (Darragh--male. Don't know even how to pronounce it because he never introduced himself. I had to look on the recipt) was horrible! Let me explain why. I had the steak and snowcrab and my husband had the prime rib. I never got a salad and my husbands didn't have any dressing on it. When we tried to get this fixed our waiter was nowhere to be found so we had to get up from our booth and ask the hostess to find our server. She couldn't even find him so another sever brought his dressing but I was still missing my salad. By then I gave up. When our entrees came both of our meals were cold and my fries were soggy. Not only that my crab was slimy, I only got small legs, and a whole bunch of the part of the leg that is pulled away from the body without the leg attached. We were not checked on again until he brought us our bill. There was no reason for this. We had come in to eat at 4:15pm. There was barely anyone there because it had just opened up. I hope reading this will save someone else from what we went through. It makes me appreciate ours at home that much more!! read more

I really like Outback See and it is my go-to restaurant for steak, but today I decided to try the steak quesadilla. I mean, the picture in the menu is do tantalizing. BIG MISTAKE. It was terrible ... greasy, verrrrry little steak and pretty NO flavor. It's supposed to have a chipotle spread, but if it did ... as I said, no flavor. A shame ... We tried to eat at this Outback tonight after the GEORGIA-Florida game. However, after sitting there for 20 minutes and not being acknowledged by anyone other than the person who sat us down we ended up leaving. We were in the restaurant with less than 20 people there dining and there were 5 employees a few booths away from us stuffing silverware completely ignoring us. When we decided to leave an older lady that worked in the restaurant laughed at us for getting up and leaving because I guess her tactic to get us to leave worked. Should have known better when we entered and it didn't smell like a yummy steakhouse but like a dirty, musty mop bucket. I prefer to eat at independent non corporate restaurants but received gift cards so after many years of not dining at an Outback, we gave it a try. The ribeye I had was what you would expect for breakfast at a greasy spoon diner for $9. It was a terrible cut of meat that couldn't be cooked an even temperature because it was so thin. It was salty and not right, something was just off with this cut of meat. My husband's prime rib was tough and nothing worth mentioning. Our son's NY strip was the best of them all. Service and sides we're good which is why I'm giving two stars. Steak is the business you're in, just do it right. read more

Blooming onion tasted like they hadent changed the grease in the fryer in a longtime. Its was over cooked, I went to the bathroom to walk in to a sink full of vomit. We both had the grilled salmon and veggies. It was so good. Always good. The server was a talker. I could tell he wanted to get into a drawn out conversation so I avoided eye contact and he was caught off guard. You know those type of people that trap You into a long conversation when all you want to do is order and eat? That was him. But he knew his shit about menu etc. We saw him trap a few other diners. This restaurant was located right off the highway 312. The entrance to the restaurant was sort of hard to find. I went on Saturday for dinner. I had a filet mignon with a garlic butter sauce paired with mashed potatoes and grilled Asparagus. The food quality I would rate a 8/10 my whole meal was very delicious. The steak was cooked exactly the way I wanted at medium. The grilled asparagus was also very well done by not being too burnt or undercooked. The portion of the food was perfect 10/10. I did not feel like it was too much or too little. For a drink I had a soda. The waitress was excellent at making sure it never got too low 10/10. The decor of the place was exactly what I expect for an Outback Steakhouse 9/10. It was Australian influenced with a rugged look and ocean influences. The waitress was really great. She had great energy and was super nice throughout the whole meal. I would rate her service 10/10. Overall, my experience was really great. There would not be much that I would change about it. One thing that I would change would have been the location of the table that I was sitting at because it was close to the door so traffic was always go back my table. We had a birthday dinner of 4 for a friends birthday at outback of St Augustine. We had great service from server Erika F. #7. She made us feel comfortable and even interacted with the group as a whole. She is an asset to the Restaurant. We really enjoyed the experience. I'm only rating a 3 because the service here was really good from the time we walked in and out. The sides that I received was really and good as well as dessert but the steak was not. This is a steakhouse and the main reason people come and eat here but the steaks never great. I decided to give them another try but they failed miserably. The steak was dry especially for a ribeye. I called myself making a joke that I was cheating on Longhorn with Outback because I only go to Longhorn because they get my steak right every time. It's been two years since I gave Outback a chance and I must say I've learned my lesson. No more cheating for me. read more

It was my kid's anniversary and we wanted to help them celebrate. My wife is home bound so we decided to get Outback from the curbside. We ordered 2 prime-rib, a ribeye, sirloin and shrimp plus two add on lobster tails. We got our food, took it home and were ready for a good dinner... What we got was probably the WORST food I have EVER had from an Outback. They have decided to put some very spicy seasoning (not ordered) on all of their steaks. Awful!! The Prime-rib was way over done and coated in the "rub", it was almost inedible from the start (we didn't finish). We had ordered it "traditional" no spices just a nice slice of Prime-rib. The steaks were also over-cooked and covered with this obnoxious spice rub (not ordered). Needless to say this will be the last time we use the Outback in St Augustine. OBTW, they left out the lobster tails from our order. This meal was absolutely TERRIBLE from start to finish. Called the Manager and he offered gift cards to repay for the meal. Everyone I've talked to here in town seems to be a fan of either Outback Steakhouse or Longhorn Steakhouse, and not really a fan of both. I'm a HUGE Longhorn fan, and hadn't eaten at an Outback in quite a while, so I decided to give it a shot, and overall had a pretty good experience. I'm always mildly annoyed at the Australian theme of their commercials and also the walls of the place, with Aussie stuff everywhere, even serving up Foster's beer, when any Australian will tell you that Foster's is a joke and NOBODY in Australia drinks it. Regardless, I guess if your name is Outback, that's the way you'd have to go. I went on a Saturday night, and expected quite a line, however that wasn't really the case. I ended up having to wait only about 10 minutes for a table, and while I waited, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a delicious Samuel Adams draft. They also had a bunch of drink specials going on, I believe if you get in before 6 or 7, basically all margaritas and mixed drinks are 2 for 1, and I believe also all domestic drafts, but not Sam Adams. :( Oh well, the service at the bar was great, my beer was awesome, and I was seated and ready to eat. The service by our waitress was phenomenal. Very attentive, but not overly so, got everything just right, was very polite, and overall took great care of us. Having filled up with beer, I decided to skip the appetizers and just order the main course. The bread was great, my ceasar salad was awesome, and the steak was f'n delicious. I got their special filet, with a bleu cheese crust. The filet was tender and moist, cooked just the way I wanted it, and the bleu cheese was perfect, not overpowering, just adding enough flavor and kick. Overall, I was very pleased with Outback. I still consider Longhorn's to be my favorite steakhouse in St. Augustine. Their steaks are juicier, taste better, and there's a much better selection in terms of appetizers and main course meals, but I did notice there was virtually NO wait at Outback on a Saturday night, while you will DEFINITELY be waiting a while at Longhorn's. Definitely glad I stopped in, and would have no qualms about eating here again. Great place. read more

Cant believe im reviewing an Outbacks but they totally deserve it. First of all , it was Tuesday and they were packed. Second of all , it was super clean inside. Our server was a doll, she was awesome, kept checking up on us .The drinks that she brought back from the bar were REAL drinks , now i see where the REAL happy hour ,lol. I had Tuna Tartar appetizer and it was huge, i was full halfway through. Basically for a franchise restaurant , they totally deserve 5 stars for the food and the service , keep it up ! read more

Okay so Outback has failed to impress and this one was not the exception. They mixed up the steaks and gave my 3 year old a rare steak and my husband a very well done one. So they switched for the most part. My food was less than satisfying and apparently they do not mess up chicken tenders as my other two kiddos ate theirs with no problems. The manager, Steve, was great and comped us our appetizer and my 3 year old's meal, super nice guy and the service was great (reason for the 3 stars rather than one). Maybe it was an off night or the cook was not paying attention I am not sure but it is not my #1 choice of places to go to while in St. Augustine. read more

It wasn't a very busy night so I figured it wouldn't be long to serve us food. The waiter did take a very long time to get our drinks out but we understood the bar must of been pretty busy. When the food came out everyone was eating but mine didn't show they insisted they made a mistake and was going to remake it for me. 15 minutes had passed by and still no food everyone else in my party was done eating when my food finally arrived. Could tell it was rushed since the cheese wasn't even melted all the way through. Not sure how they can take an extra 15 minutes and not get it perfect?!?. The manger stopped by and apologized and did take it off the bill but when I also included that the drinks took a very long time as well. I figured he could take at least one beer off my bill since I felt very rushed with my food being delivered so late. Yet the manager denied that request and didn't even say he wouldn't or would. Didn't see it until I got the bill but my waiter was kind of enough to buy the drink for me. The waiter I had made the experience a little bit better but the manger cared very little. Since he avoid the area I was sitting in like it was the plague. Very disappointed in how poor of an experience I had. Waiter was amazing manger was god awful and should be replaced with someone who is more caring. Stay away from this outback unless u decide to take two hours outta your day just to enjoy a simple meal. read more

Then we had the undercooked steak with hair in the Mac and cheese. They comped us the steak but I still don't think we will go back until they get some better ratings. Ate at Outback tonight for the first time in years. It will be years before we go back. Service was fine but the steak was tough as usual. Had the steak and unlimited shrimp and the shrimp were overcooked and very small. My wife had the coconut shrimp. They were huge but very sweet as was the sauce. We came to Outback tonight and will be coming back again and again!! After the not so good reviews, we were greeted and everyone throughout our entire stay was so friendly. The food was fast, hot and so delicious AND the service was OUTSTANDING!! The owner came around and spoke to everyone in the room and was very friendly and welcoming. We will for sure be coming back to the Outback in St. Augustine - beats out Chilis any day!!! Highly suggest this place after the new owner took over!!! A resident of St. Augustine, I eat at Outback often. The experience Sunday was less than satisfying. Slow waiter, had to ask for water and a bread loaf Waiter waited until we were ready to order to tell us what menu items they were out of, as we selected them. Prime Rib being a signature dish, perhaps a small sign at the entrance advising it wasn't available (out) Finally had a burger, which was adequate, not great. Had to ask for basic items. Waiter was not attentive at all. Table behind us tried to get servers attention, and finally had to get up to register that their Salmon dish was very undercooked (their words..raw) Think I'll, along with my party, give outback a break for a while. read more

Outback ruined our night for the following reasons: 1. They were out of 8 items that my family and I ordered -- they only get shipments on Monday, so they tend to "run out of menu items" on the weekend. We ended up getting meals COMPLETELY different than what we wanted. 2. We found out that menu items were out ONE BY ONE as our server came back every 15-20 minutes to notify us. This extended the wait for us to get our food. 3. We waited 2 HOURS before we got our entrees. The steaks were cold and NOT cooked the way we ordered. Heck, the sides were completely different! We will never eat at Outback Steakhouse again. I hope you all choose a better restaurant for your weekend evening. read more

Y'all may remember my last review of an Outback Steakhouse where I say that its not a place Id go to unless I either had a gift card, or it was all I could find in a strange town. Well yes to both, so there we went. I have given this restaurant 5 stars based on the server. Hands down she was the best server I have ever had, ever, in ANY restaurant, and this is why. I I ordered the filet sandwich, with no cheese. When my salad came, the server had brought me the cheese on the side, "just in case I did not want it because of my sandwich order." That right there was more forethought than I have ever seen. In addition to that water.bread, etc always full, and she was right there with the check. Her name was Jai, Jade, something like that, I actually thought I saved the reciept with her ame on it, but sadly did not. In addition to her excellent service, the food was much better prepared than the last Outback experience in Orlando, as well as fresh. I also really enjoyed my sandwich, and think I will get it again. read more

My wife and I order lunch at 11:45 on a Monday. One burger with fries; one order of quesadillas. 35 minutes later the manager emerges from the kitchen to inform us there was an issue. We arrived at this Outback location at about 5:30. We were seated promptly since the restaurant had many empty tables at this point. Our initial service was slow. Took quite a while to put our drink orders in. We ordered a blooming onion, which came out small and very greasy. The batter wasn't even sticking to it. Between the four of us we ordered two burgers, fish tacos and the steakhouse salad. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for our food. The place wasn't even close to capacity so this was unexpected and disappointing. Our server was like a robot.... No personality, no smile, she seemed like she was annoyed that she even had to wait on us. Let me add that we are very polite and generous to servers...we gave her no reason to be snooty. The steakhouse salad came out with mostly lettuce, a few tasteless pieces of steak, no tomatoes, no onion... Not what the menu describes. It was bad. It took forever to get the check. Between the food ranging from just OK to bad, the poor service and the price of their entrées, we won't be back to this location and may not be back to any Outback for quite a while. Nothing good at all about this place. Was there 08.25.2017 for lunch & it was a dissaster. Wife ordered chicken quesadilla w/fries. Got no fries until very late. I ordered steak med/well. After a wait i got a RARE steak. They took it back and FRIED it dry. I had already ate the potato by the time i got the steak back. They did bring another potato but too late.
