The steak was okay, I probably would have liked a burger or something better. Been awhile since we've been to the Outback. Remember when they were so good, so decided to give them another try since it has been so long. About the only redeeming events of the evening were the bread and salads. Outback has always had fresh crisp salads and the best ranch dressing ! Sadly, that's where it ended ! Wife had a filet that was so stringy she could hardly cut it. I had prime rib Outback style and it too was stringy and hard to cut. How did we get two different pieces of meat and have the very same problem ? At least we tried to give them another chance and won't be back any time soon. The food was just okay. My favorite part of my meal was the wedge salad. The steak had so much seasoning on it that I couldn't eat it and it was rubbery and tough. If I could give a ZERO I would!!! The steak had too much char, in essence the outside was burnt even though the inside was medium rare as requested. The meat was tough as well. This was the $29 bone in ribeye. Too much for a pathetic excuse of a steak. Mickie, the manager, was equally as sorry with a line of shit for this horrible meal. I ordered online with a group of people and for some strange reason didn't get what I was suppose to. I called back to the restaurant and made a complaint. I was assured that my food was sent and the employee who made it remembered my order and everything again it was not there I told him I didn't pick it up and everyone says they got what they were suppose to. Right now I'm in Tyler there is no water at the hotel I don't have a car was here on a crisis assignment so I had no way to get it and door dash Uber eats nothing was delivering Eric said he had to go a few places but on his way he would bring by the hotel I was staying at, being snowed in unable to leave on a flight being away from all friends and family not only did the food touch my belly but he himself touched my soul I have not had the greatest experience here at all but that one chance interaction really stop me from judging this whole town because I know there are some great people who genuinely care for others here and I appreciate it. Not sure why the hostess makes you wait like 2-5 mins because they are u sure where to seat the next customers that walk thru the door, they should know where to seat guests in a fast timely manner. I usually don't do nationwide chain restaurants, but thought I'd share for people who are looking for a place to go. Had a late night dinner here last night, Coconut shrimp app was very good. I had the outback special 11zo steak salad. It was perfect. The staff here was very nice and friendly, keep the drinks coming without having to flagging them down. Service here was just excellent here and I'm so glad we decided to pick here eat. we were greeted very quickly by a young lady she was very personable and welcoming. our server came pretty quickly and took our drink order. we ordered unsweet tea and I asked for Splenda. he brought our drinks with their version of sweet n low. I told him I wanted splenda he said this is just a generic version. I explained the difference and he understood and brought us the yellow one. This was to be my birthday celebration so I ordered a small prime rib with loaded baked potato and a salad. my husband ordered steak and shrimp on the Barbie. the salad was tasteless, not sure why. food arrived and he ordered the big prime rib instead of the 12 oz I asked for. the prime rib was tasteless and tough! No butter in the baked potato and just very little toppings and the potato was not completely cooked. My husband's shrimp was dry and no flavor at all. We were never asked how the food was, even though almost the whole prime rib (I only took two bites) was still on my plate. I asked for a to go box so I could take the prime rib home and try to salvage it. For $70 I expect to have at least a decent meal. Needless to say we won't be back. I always feel secure about my dinner options in a new town when I see the green roof of an Outback Steakhouse. This Outback helped make my stay in Tyler, Tx quite pleasant. I branched out from my regular "Outback Special" and decided to try oven roasted tenderloin with mushroom port wine sauce. I would have expected something like that at a fine dining establishment, not a chain restaurant for under $20. It was DELICIOUS! The steak came with vegetables and a wedge salad, as all the steak entrees do. This relatively new menu item seems like an excellent addition to an already wide selection. Additionally, the Tyler Outback had strangely courteous service. I expect some down-under hospitality, but these employees were particularly attentive and used some heavily positive language. "I hope you have a PERFECT dinner. Your sever will be here to take EXCELLENT care of you in just a moment." and so on Definitely a safe bet for a date, business dinner, or a meal by yourself. We went in for the special steak and lobster for $15.99 for lunch. Our waiter Edwin from California was very good. Our steak and lobsters were terrible. My wife and I both ordered the sirloins medium. One came out medium rare and the other medium. Both were tough as boots and the lobsters were about the size of my thumb, and were not fully cooked. I have ordered the Outback special several times which is a sirloin and has always been great. This place is going down fast. It even smells bad when you walk in. It's a chain restaurant, so if you're expecting 5 star service, 5 star food, or a waiter to top off your glass the instant you take a drink you'd best look elsewhere or temper your expectations. Outback is reliable food-the place you go when you just want a slab of meat cooked (or slightly less cooked) to suit you and don't give a hang about calories. Don't come here expecting to stick with your diet; go eat nuts and berries and keeen-waaah at one of those other places that seem so keen to cater to the fad diet monstrosities peddled in all the rags at the grocery check-out line. I can not for the life of me figure out how that could have happened. The food itself was good but starting to get cold. At the end of our meal he brought us our check BUT never offered us a survey as he had done for the table next to us. Hmmmmm I wonder why? The second half of me and my wife's irritation came from a gentlemen that was in the restaurant going table to table doing card tricks. I thought that the in-house entertainer was pretty cool but he NEVER stopped at our table. Everyone else around us got a show. The only thing the I could come up with is that me and my wife were the ONLY African Americans on that side of the restaurant. We heard great things about the prime rib here, so a party of 11 went the other night. I was not impressed. The salad was OK, it was big, very little croutons, like 6, but it was ok. I ordered my prime rib mid-rare and error on the rare side, it came out medium, cooked on both sides while I observed other prime ribs that was cut from the center and you could see it was not grilled after it was cut (the pink-red center), mine was browned on both sides after it was cut. Also it had a LOT of fat and gristle I had to cut around to get to the tender parts, maybe the reason it was browned on both sides? My cousin also ordered hers mid-rare, error on the rare side, and it also came out medium at best, but at least hers wasn't grilled on both sides after it was cut like mine. What part of error on the rare side is confusing? The mac and cheese was really dry, had good flavor but could use a lot more milk or cream, the kids didn't even like it and they LOVE mac and cheese. The baked potato was cooked good but being a loaded baked potato did not have enough toppings according to it's size, it was also dry to the taste, I had to dip it in the little bowl of juice they serve with the steak to eat it. The service was good and we tipped well, but, my meal alone cost over $30 and it was a $12 meal at best. I will not be going back. read more

We had a great experience at the Outback Steakhouse in Tyler today. The place was clean and quiet ( they were fairly busy, people were just spaced out) and our server, Luke, was so friendly and polite. We had bread and cheese fries for appetizers, both very good. The cheese fries were huge so we ended up taking a lot of our food home. My son ordered a burger and fruit from the kids menu and actually ate all of it. It looked very tasty! I would rate the food highly but when the food is not prepared properly, take a picture of it before you send it back because you don't know whose food will be brought back to you. I ordered a Victoria's 8oz fillet cooked Medium and it was rare. I requested they through it back on the grill. When they brought my steak back, they brought me back someone else's Sirloin which was clearly not my steak. The Manager "Logan" just wanted to argue that this was in fact my steak. We went back and forth with no resolve. So I walked out paying for a Tenderloin and receiving a Sirloin half the size of my Tenderloin. Not a fan of the management. read more

Haven't been in years. Probably years until I go again. They had some lobster specials so decided to try again. Pictures looked great. After a long wait (over an hour) got our food. Sides and salads were excellent. My son's steak was overcooked. My lobster platter didnt look at all like the picture. We thought my wife could eat off my plate but it had tiny little portions. Within the past 3 weeks, I've ordered take away service and Alice Springs Chicken both times. Both times the finisher forgot to include the honey mustard dressing. The more recent occasion the person who took my order asked if I wanted bread and butter. I answered in the affirmative. He included the bread. I sought to bring these deficiencies to the attention of management just now by calling. The phone rang and rang before someone picked it up and immediately hang it up. We returned to this Outback for a late Valentine's lunch. Another awesome meal! We tried the shrimp queso appetizer - oh my gosh, wow. If you love queso, please try this!! It was so flavorful, we ate it all. I had a sirloin with shrimp and my husband had a burger with cheese fries. Both were amazing! My steak was cooked perfectly, the shrimp was wonderful, and the mixed veggies and asparagus I had were so flavorful.
