So I am only giving 3 stars because our server was on prompt and very pleasant. I was not impressed with the menu options to start the downfall. Once we decided what all four of us wanted, we received our bloomin onion which was ok... not worth $10. Shrimp and chicken pasta was over seasoned and barely any sauce, when i saw how much was on our plates for how much i paid, i was wishing i had gone to Cheddars. I thought i would be paying for good food, instead i paid for street food. Steak was way undercooked, baked potatoes seemed microwaved, chicken strips were hard and the fries were cold, super small portions of low scale good, the only thing in abundance was cold fries. Asked waitress about a pasta dish to see if I could get it without the green onions ans she showed me another pasta that had no green onions so I said I would eat that! Well she brings our meals out and mine is loaded with green onions!!! Mind you the pic had No onions on it and She said it had No onions!!! Well she offered to re cook my meal Not being a fan of spit in my food either I said No and proceeded to pick out about 50 green onions out of my food before I could even taste it and it all still tasted like it had onions in it GROSS!!! All i got to say is dont bother eating here. I ordered a 10 oz ribeye and my husband ordered prime rib which they were out of. We also ordered a salad on my part and soup on my husbands part. They brought our food with no soup or salad. My 10 oz ribeye was about 1/4 inch and full of fat and was well done instead of medium. I have frequented this Outback for many years, and it's usually good. My husband and I went last Wednesday because he loves the prime rib. The food was fine, although the prime rib was a bit over done in my opinion. The service was weak at best. Our server was Emily, and she pretty much ignored us the whole time. I guess she was too busy chit chatting with her co workers, in plain sight of us. It is outback. You are guaranteed a so-so unoriginal meal with decent prices. There is nothing special here that you won't find at a thousand other outbacks across the country. So disappointed with our experience here it's hard to describe! To begin, the A/C was dripping on us and creating a puddle under our table. The food presentation was nonexistent. I guess they figure you're going to just eat your food so who cares what it looks like when they bring it out. There were 9 of us eating and only one meal was brought out correctly from steaks being over cooked, crab legs under cooked and scallops completely forgotten about. The service was very good, my waitress was Lily, she made me feel very welcome with out it feeling fake. The food was really good. I got the crab stuffed mushrooms as appetizer then the sirloin with classic seasoning, it came out great. Good taste and juicy. Today was the first time I had been to outback in probably a year. I have never been much a fun in other cities but the Tyler location has always been top notch, my wife and kids were out of town so I took a seat at the bar. Bartender welcomed me and I could tell right away that he was either on drugs or had 5 Red Bull's before his shift, he was all over the freaking place and could not be still. I ordered a small ultra and a water, about 2 minutes later a blooming onion. The bartender then disappeared to the kitchen for what seemed like 15-20 minutes, then appeared and said "he had been watching my onion like a hawk, sorry it took so long" the onion tasted like it had been cooked at about 900 degrees, the outside was covered in grease and burnt while what little batter was left was raw on the inside. After giving me my onion the bartender disappeared back into the kitchen, I ate what I could from the onion and pushed it away, it would have been nice to enjoy some TV but both bar TV's had the direct tv screen saver flashing. Once the bartender finally came back out of the kitchen I ordered a baked potato and salad. Then came out and both were pretty good as expected, the bartender never asked how my food was once it was 8:15 (I got there at 7:10) by this time and he was only worried about getting close out duties done. Good ambience, good staff, great food! We did have to wait about 30 minutes but they brought us samples which made the wait easier. Once seated the waiter seemed new and unfamiliar with some of the pricing when asked. Though he was polite and got our food out on time. Was in the mood for red meat while in town. We were greeted promptly and seated. Our very nice "new" waitress Morgan was Johnny on the spot. Took our drink orders and gave us some time to look over the menu. I opted for a Shiner Bock draft, 22oz bone in rib eye with baked potato and grill asparagus. The wife ordered chicken quesadillas and a Shiner Bock also. Cold beers arrived shortly, but because they were so busy, a Friday evening, we had to wait about 25 minutes for our meal. However; Morgan kept us updated and explained the delay. She was also helpful in telling me how steaks were cooked there and assured me no over cooking the steak. Well when the food arrived it was worth the wait. The steak was perfectly cooked to a warm red medium rare and seasoned perfectly also. No additional sauces needed. The potato order was topped with wrong items, but Morgan quickly got the kitchen to correct it and the manager brought it to the table. Great job by everyone. read more

My husband called up and they made it right and told us to come get our food that we actually ordered and was greeted by Mikey and another manager and sincerely apologized to us and gave us a $20 gift card for the Inconvenience. Logan Peer, one of the managers found my card, UPS'd it to me in Houston, paying for it himself! This is service way above and beyond. The server was really nice and helpful but the kitchen was horrible. It took 1 1/2 hours to get our food and everyone around us was complaining and sending food back. The interior is outdated. The furniture is worn so badly that you cannot sit comfortably. The booth we sat in had a nasty tear exposing the foam that is now dirty and picked at across the entire length of the bench. The benches in the waiting area are just as bad. Worst service ever. Went today and they were not busy. Took over an hour for our food. Which was Aussie fries, soup and salad and chicken tenders. Took over 30 mins to get my salad. Brought one order of the fries loaded and just plain fries for the other!!! Like really. Ran out of tea for 10 mins and had to flag someone down for more. What you pay to fine there....it's a joke! I took my husband to Outback in Tyler for an early Father's Day steak. He ordered an 8 oz sirloin. It was so tough he could barely cut it with the large serrated knife. He managed to eat most of it but part of it he could not cut, stick a fork in it, or chew it, I have never seen anything like it. Very, very, very disappointing. Edwin Colin is my favorite server, i try to get him when I come in but sometimes he's not working, I get another good server but he's really great &' kid friendly. I come to outback, 2 to 3 times out of the month. I really love it. Every time I get great service. Everyone is always friendly and kind. I really love the friendly work environment and how the servers are great. The Aussie cob salad is my favorite but the Steakhouse Salad is a wowing taste, will also have to be my other favorite. The chicken tenders are always good choice for kids. The steakhouse macaroni is so creamy and cheesy makes, I just love it when I'm not getting something new. The best dessert is the Mini Dessert Parfaits, the perfect dessert it's not to heavy after eating a big meal. read more

My wife and I took my daughter here for her 28th birthday. Wife and Daughter had the filet and lobster tail and I had the Chicken Fried Steak. Everything was just perfect. Steaks were tender, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Lobster was steamed perfectly and the server treated us like royalty. It seems Tyler is lacking a cook that is capable of cooking a well done piece of meat. My son and I ordered a burger - well done. His (a kids burger) was SO not done. Mine was close, but not well done. They were sent back and came back fine. My husbands order of steak came out w/o the extra stuff on top. (If memory serves he was supposed to get bloomin onion toppings on the steak) My in-laws had problems with their order too but they didn't speak up. Someone came around to the table and gruffly said "You were supposed to get these at the door but didn't. Here" and shoved a $6 off coupon at me. Not sure if that was supposed to make up for the hassle of sending food back to the kitchen... As if that wasn't enough for one meal, my husband also sucked a piece of metal through his straw. Yup, metal. The waiter happened by when we were talking about it, passing it around the table in shock. He was apologetic, but that was it. We didn't get anything taken off of our bill... which I'm honestly quite shocked about.
