I thought that the outback would be the perfect place to go and take my very good friend to catch up over dinner... Or either the steak, knives weren't sharp enough or the steak was too tough to cut it, but both were awful... I did not want to ruin my time with my friend, so I didn't say anything to the management... The salad was wilted and the steak was seared so hard on the outside. It was difficult to cut... My friend got prime rib, and it was equally as awful and difficult to cut. I will, never, never ever go back there again, not to mention that it was expensive, and they had nothing special to offer... Ordered online and said it will be ready in 20 minutes. I was five minutes early and waited over 90 minutes before I was handed my food. Ordered three meals including bread. Didn't get the bread. Then looking onion was cold and soggy. The salad was warm and limp. The prime rib was warm but definitely not medium rare. Asked for no onions for the baked potato and received a side of onions. If it were possible to give negative stars...I would! I visited this place about 3 weeks ago after all the hoopla on TV touting Outbacks's new menu and center cut steaks. What a joke! Two of us went for dinner around 915 pm on a Thursday night after calling and asked to be seated outside, as they allowed dogs on their patio. The place was empty. The service was awful and the food even worse. I was tempted not to leave a tip (but reluctantly did). The bill was close to $80 for beef skewers, steak and lobster (looked more like shrimp, than lobster) and two watered down drinks! Yes, $80 bucks! It was awful. So instead of going straight to Yelp, I posted a complaint on Outback's website. The Manager, called about a week later and offered his apologies and proceeded to blame the "youth of today" and their inability to learn... He then asked why I didn't ask for the Manager? Well, it was 1030 and I wanted to go home...He suggested I give this location another chance and promised to send a voucher to use for another meal. Just this evening (3 weeks later) an envelope arrived. Guess what...it's a letter from the Proprietor and a note offering me $20 bucks of my next visit. Are you kidding? I spent $80 and $20 won't even cover 2 watery drinks! This is the best way to lose market share and customers Mate! I will never return and will share my story with everyone with the original receipt and voucher in hand! All the marketing in the world cannot help this place! After the server and chef both agreed they entered in the right information into their computer and decided they had not selected a wrong cut of meat, I was informed it was corporate's decision to buy a thiner, flatter Victoria filet cut while advertising it was the thickest steak on the menu. My two daughters, daughter's fiance and I tonight were very upset and angry. My daughter and I ordered the Campfire menu for 2--Center cut Prime rib dinners. What we received looked like emaciated rib steaks. Super thin, full of fat and lots of gristle. My mashed potatoes had no taste/seasonings at all, coffee was bitter and the Strawberry Cheesecake filling was thick with cornstarch, gluey, and the "Strawberry" sauce was just red food coloring, cornstarch and imitation strawberry flavoring. How do I know you ask...because I baked pies and cakes for 29 years and I can tell the difference between real and fake flavors...a crappy pie and a pie made to please. On top of that, we asked to have the bill split and our Server charged MY card the full bill AND also charged my daughter for her half as well; so we paid for 1 1/2 dinners. We asked our Server, Almo, to correct his mistake. He said he did. I checked my bank statement and yep--I paid for 2 dinners. I will never return to Black Angus again. Update* - The County Inspector visited to validate the issue with cockroaches and confirmed there is a problem. The bar area was voluntary closed while they work to resolve the issue. Update** - The restaurant treated the bar area and requested a reinspection the next day after closing the bar. The inspector no longer found any live infestation and allowed the bar area to be reopened. The area will be retreated again tomorrow and in two weeks as preventative measures. read more

The manager, Devon (I hope I spelled that right), has gone above and beyond to show us amazing customer service. Recently, my wife and I had a transportation problem and Devon called his wife and using her account, he got us a ride to take us home. That was extremely nice of him. Outback food is delicious. Not sure how or why this place is still in business. Felt grimy as soon as we walked in. Bathroom smelled disgusting and the paper towel dispenser didn't work. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest. Disappeared half way through the meal. My steak was tough, the rest of the food was just okay. We were supposed to have a choice of chocolate or raspberry cheesecake as a part of the meal we ordered. The waitress didn't even ask what we wanted and just brought out raspberry for all. What is really infuriating is that my mom had a gift card that she had called to check the balance on the night before. She spoke to a customer service person who went ahead and confirmed the balance then obviously helped themselves to it because when we went to pay, the waitress claimed there was no balance. We checked again online - same thing. Will be filing a complaint with corporate and disputing the credit card charge but this was just the final straw to an already bad meal. I certainly would not drive out of my way to come here again. Nor would I stop if I were driving right past it. I wish these types of chains would get it - just focus on cleanliness, quality and decent service and people will come. This has your typical outback vibe- nothing different from the other chains. Service was attentive and friendly which is always important in my book. I ordered the 10 oz rib eye and the hubby ordered their porterhouse. My rib eye was a generous portion and I would totally get it again. It was thickly cut, juicy, tender and tasty. Loved the baked potato too I think husband liked his Porter because he was quiet the whole time They offer a great house salad with crisp greens, cheese, tomato, cucumber and red onion and for a salad I thought it was pretty good. You also can't go wrong with their complimentary warm bread and butter. Just don't eat too much or you'll not have any room for dessert! Would I recommend this Outback? Absolutely! I don't plan on going to an Outback Steakhouse ever again. I ordered a filet mignon. It obviously was a "fake" filet. Chunks of meat were glued together to form "one" steak. I should have called them out on it and sent it back. I had heard of lower quality restaurants using meat glue, but this was the first time I had ever seen it firsthand. Very disappointed! We went here for lunch today with my in-laws and we were very underwhelmed!!! We got there about 1:45 and there were only 2 other tables in the whole place occupied. The prro service we received you would have thought the place was super busy. Our waitress hardly ever came by the table and when she did it was just briefly. The food was passable at best. I got the top sirloin with the grilled shrimp and I tell you the shrimp skewer had exactly 4 shrimp on it and these were some of the smallest shrimp I have ever had. The other dishes were OK but nothing matching the prices they charge. I was about half way through my meal and realized "what happened to the loaded mashed potatoes I was supposed to get". I try to support restaurants, especially during the ongoing Covid shutdowns and most restaurants are going out of their way to keep customers, but that's not what I found tonight at Outback in Upland. I ordered a medium bone-in ribeye, fries, salad, veggies and bread. The steak was beyond over cooked, the fries were cold, the salad had wilted lettuce and I paid extra for the chopped bleu cheese salad that didn't have the advertised bleu cheese crumbles or pecans. The bread was stale and the broccoli was mush. I have eaten at this Outback several times and had take out before, but I have never been so disappointed. My meal was inedible. You would think if take out is all a restaurant can do they would try to get it right. I will not be back. I just wasted over $40 and silly me I gave an upfront tip. Lesson learned. read more

Found a gift card in my wallet that has to be 3 years old... seeing as that was the last time Thomas Jefferson and I went to Outback HA! Anyhoo I went to the 'take-out' booth located in back of this location where Devinne assisted me most efficiently. I ordered my favorite from this establishment, "What is that you ask?" Coconut Shrimp with their Creole Marmalade sauce (although I like Apricot Horseradish with mine) She took my order and kept me company while I waited... she was polishing silverware as we conversated. (just need to state that in case the management reads this and think she was slacking off) LOL As of June they started opening early on weekends so if you are looking for a place to get some nums-nums after Church don't count this place out.
