Waba Grill Upland, CA...Always love to eat the double beef with white rice, veggies, and dumplings plate. Washed it all down with that refreshing fruit punch. It was a little watered down, but still ok. Got a Pepsi refill to go, was much better! This place was very clean and always hits the spot! Employee was very nice. Came in today at 4:30pm. According to receipt Alexis R was my "server". I felt so uncomfortable as 3 workers stand just staring at me. Not a single person greeted me with a simple "hello" the longer we stood there without any acknowledgement the more angry I was becoming. The employee directly behind the register was filling lids/cups so I tried to give benefit of doubt that maybe once she did that she'd acknowledge us saying she's ready now. That's when the other employee decided to "greet" the customer waiting behind me with "are you paying cash or card? I can help you over here" then proceeds to help him at the register next to us. So I obnoxiously said "Hi" to which I seemed to get a blushy murmured hello back while she anxiously still messed with the lids. So I loudly informed them "sorry I wasn't aware you were ready for me since no one was saying anything" after placing my order we made our way over to a table. It was just the other man who just ordered and my son and I. No one else in there eating etc. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is when I really started looking around and of all the tables maybe 3 of them appeared clean. Customer service is the worst. The employees were giving attitude to everyone picking up orders telling them it wasn't ready and was going to be like a 30 min wait. I requested them to chop the vegetables as I just had dental surgery and every other Waba that have been to does this with no problem. Jocelyn told me that it was impossible for them to do that they could not contaminate anything by chopping the vegetables, even though every other lava, I have been to does this without a problem. Then they have a nerve of asking for a tip. 90% of the time when I come to this Walmart, but they are usually out of broccoli for their vegetables are so over steamed and mush. And it takes some pointers from the Waba in Fontana. I frequent you out there. You are far more consistent on her food, not out of things and believe in customer service. read more

To be honest I don't know why I keep coming here. This waba has the worst service and I always have my order come back wrong. I'm disappointed because this was the chicken I received. It took longer than 15 minutes to get this 1 bowl ready & on top of that the gentlemen calling out order numbers called out 2 numbers ahead of mine before I had to get up & ask if my order was finished. We came at 8:30 pm on a Friday and they had already begun pre closing. They told us there would be a wait of 15-20 min because they already cleaned the grill. We said it was fine and the cashier asked if we wanted white or brown rice, we said brown. He proceeded to cut us off and say they were out of brown rice. Why ask us to pick if there's only one option? He gave us an unnecessary amount of attitude when we were more than polite. He then proceeded to try to get customers to leave so they wouldn't have to cook more by repeating what he told us and giving more attitude to everyone else. Cashier is inconsiderate and lacks customer service. I understand when business' run out of supplies but customers should be notified before ordering. Today there is no ice in the fountain drink machine however the cashier still sold me a fountain drink. I notified him about no ice in the machine and he replied "oh yeah machine is out". If I could give ZERO stars, I would. DO NOT COME HERE; THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT OFFER A REFUND FOR THEIR INADEQUATE SERVICE. THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL DUE TO THEIR POOR LEADERSHIP. I AM SPECIFICALLY CALLING OUT THE MANAGER FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT AS OF TODAY'S DATE. I ordered food from their app, which partners with Doordash. I never received my food because when the Doordasher got there, apparently, some other person picked up the food. Doordash cancelled the order. I never got the food and I didn't get a refund (but this Waba Grill processed the order and charged me, not Doordash). I called Waba Grill, the same day, to get a refund and they told me they could not process a refund and to call their corporate office. I called their corporate office and they said that the Waba Grill had to issue me a refund. I called the next day, and an employee tried to get me to call corporate again to get a refund. I told them I was not going on a loop again and if I could speak to their manager. They asked for all of the order information and told me their manager was in a meeting and that they would get back to me after their meeting. THEY NEVER DID. I called again in the afternoon (call took place in the morning) to speak to the manager. At this point, I was already fed up with the back and forth regarding a very simple problem. It was clear that the reason for the fuXK up was due to the lack of leadership and unprofessional behavior from the manager. The manager tried the same BS of going back and forth, about how he could not issue a refund and to call corporate (after already giving him all the information to verify that I was never issued a refund). He tried to act dumb as if there was nothing he could do, so I called him out on his inability to solve a very easy problem. I stated that because they processed the order through their POS system, they could issue the refund. He didn't want to hear any of it so I called out that this was an issue on his part because the training of employees was inadequate; train your employees to verify app orders from those picking up the food and hire enough people to process orders. Quite frankly, I had had it with his BS and hung up. I reached out to corporate and they sent out an email to get them to issue the refund, which they ignored, probably due to pettiness. Corporate was surprised that they ignored the request, as by this point, most franchises do (just goes to show the level of UNPROFESSIONALISM at this particular establishment). At this point, I had to contact my bank to get a refund back, which is annoying because this was a VERY simple problem to solve. See Mr. Manager, you wanted to pull that BS of "I'm in a meeting, I can't help you." Yeah, your time is important, but so is mine. Due to your inadequacy, I had to solve YOUR problem for you. Maybe, reconsider another job, as you clearly are not cut out for this one. No wonder your establishment is getting negative reviews. Work on your customer service! 12/22/2020-- I finally got my refund through my bank. Here is a letter I got from my bank. Also, I got a call from someone at the corporate office saying that the manager said he gave me a refund, which was a flat out LIE. Here is the proof.
