Marco's was One of those great surprise finds when I was just expecting a simple casual Italian…read moredinner. It was far better than I had anticipated. I'll definitely be back again. Stopped here on a road trip headed down I-95, convenient location just off the highway. Food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. Menu has a great variety but isn't overwhelming. Excellent wine list and selection of beers, and mixed drinks, as well as appetizers and deserts. We had cheese steak egg rolls with fries. The specials were what we ordered for dinner: Lobster Ravioli- great portion of lobster meat with a creamy sweet pink sauce; and the AHI tuna special with a really nice red sauce with diced green peppers, thinly sliced onions, and chopped olives, with a side of spaghetti and marinara sauce. It was more food than we could finish so we took away leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Was sad to pass on the desert menu- lots of great options to choose from. Our server, Fawn was very polite, super attentive, and very cheerful. We came on a Friday night after the dinner rush and had a very quiet and relaxing dinner. Highly recommend for a far better than average casual dining experience.

The garlic knots that accompanied them were so light and soft with just the right amount of crusting on the outside... chef's kiss!

It was nice and rich with great flavor. Nice dark chocolate flavor mixed with buttery crust. My view on this place has pretty tiny portions too.

Last Friday's lunch decision directed me to this small town delicious spot. I hadn't been there in…read moreyears. First, I checked out the menu that is posted on the wall, and tried to make the right decision. EVERYTHING is homemade. Ok, I decided on the Tuna Salad on a white homemade yeast roll. You can select one side, so I had cucumber, tomato and onion salad. I couldn't pass up on fresh lemonade and a slice of one of the most delicious coconut pie I've ever had. The lady that took my order was soooo sweet and of course knowledgeable of the menu. I didn't feel rushed, just relaxed. Soooo we had the most interesting conversation that concluded her parents knew my mother back in the day. I didn't expect tears of joy at lunch. It was lovely! I didn't get her name, but I'll never forget her until I return with friends and family to experience this "small town" treasure. Ok, the food. The roll was golden brown, soft and screamed HomeMade. It was filled with a white flaky and well seasoned tuna salad, topped with fresh crunchy shredded lettuce. YUM ! The cucumber, grape tomato and onion salad had a lite vinaigrette dressing. Fresh !! There is freshly made strawberry lemonade, lemonade, Iced tea and the Pepsi fountain drink products. Ok, the star of the show. That slice of coconut pie was Perfect. The crust was brown, very flaky and filled with a thick creamy coconut filling. This little cute old town restaurant is next to the railroad track and train station that's across from Randolph Macon College. It's popular to the students and residents of Ashland. If you would like A DELICIOUS Lunch in a warm and cute small town restaurant, come to Homemade's by Suzanne!!!! Thank you

I found a new place to have lunch in our 6 hour drive to visit our daughter. What a find! My…read morehusband had the Bistro Chicken Ciabatta (sandwich) with cole slaw side and I had a different chicken Ciabatta (LTM with Provolone cheese) with the most perfectly cooked crispy French fries I've ever had. The herbed dough is mixed and baked on the premises to yield a 6" ciabatta with a hearty with a chewy crust. The sandwiches were warm with seasoned pulled chicken (also cooked and seasoned in-house). Our waitress mentioned that EVERYTHING is made in-house with fresh ingredients. We will return! PS. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays, so our next vist will have to wait.

The duck wontons were homemade and the "duck" pieces are smaller than a garden pea and quite sparse. The wontons are friend and smothered with cheese inside and more corn than the namesake "duck". Not worth the calories or cost. :-/ The BBQ sandwich was ok, but dry. Thankfully hot sauce helped wash it down. Then $4 for a glass of iced tea and a credit card use fee on top of that, soured the overall experience further. The menu is broad, but no explanations of ingredients makes it difficult to order and I regret giving something new a try. Tons of potential here at a friendly family restaurant where "everything is homemade".
