Went here in the afternoon. It looked sort of open: lights were on, the TV screen menu was going, but the donut cases were empty and the door was locked. Here is my beef: There was no "open" or "closed" sign, and no Hours of Operation posted. Seriously??? How can any thinking adult open up a business without either of those two most fundamental business features? It seems like the epitome of incompetence. It causes one to wonder what is missing or fouled up behind the scenes. That may sound harsh or trivial, but it isn't. Outlaw Donuts is not the first "Mom 'n' Pop" shop in Prescott to make such a foolush mistake. And every business that has ended up closing pretty quickly. Donut time!!! Found this fun shop this morning while searching Yelp with a craving for a donut, and some to share with our Return Missionary. I wonder when was the last time he had a donut?... I wonder if Japan ( where he served) has donuts?! .... The staff was very patient and helpful as it was my first time going here. I got the powdered raspberry jelly, pumpkin w/ pistachios on top, red velvet w/ buttercream on top, fruity pebbles on a chocolate, butter-finger chocolate and a maple bar topped w/ bacon! Not a good morning at Outlaw. Since the display cases are not labelled, you have to ask about some donuts...for example, the filled ones. I asked what was available. Ordered two cherry and two raspberry. Got home to find out I had received two lemon (she didn't mentioned lemon when I asked). But it gets worse...the amount of filling in the lemon was almost non-existent. The cherries were correctly filled. Order two Cappuccinos. Tried them immediately in the parking lot. Both were only lukewarm. Neither was actually a Cappuccino -- probably lattes. No time to go back inside. Great donuts, but the bakers need to be more consistent. We've gone to Outlaw many times over the years...service has always been up and down. Not labeling the display cases slows down the ordering process. read more

It's been a year since we have been to Outlaw Doughnuts due to Covid. We were frequent flyers up to that point. So many times this last year one of us have said "I feel like Outlaw Doughnuts!" We went today, paid for everything over the phone and it was brought out to us and put into the trunk when we got there. Oh. My. Gosh. I've died and gone back to heaven. They are ever bit as delicious as we remember!! We've tried other doughnut places, but for us they just don't measure up. Came to Prescott from Atlanta, Georgia for NYE and was craving donuts for breakfast. Me and my family were blown away by the quality of donuts, friendliness of the staff (even tho he "showed me the door" when he learned I was from Atlanta and mentioned Starbucks). Had a very bad experience this morning - called in two breakfast burritos and we were told it would be 25 min. No problem we were driving from PV. We got there in 30 minutes and were told they were working on them - not true - they did not start burritos until 15 minutes after we got there. We had a clear view into kitchen and know exactly when they started the burritos. They rushed to make them at this point and it showed- burritos falling apart, potatoes under cooked. not the way we have had in the past. If you are understaffed don't take orders you cannot fill. read more

My husband got the breakfast sandwich and I got the breakfast burrito and we got donuts for later. They had a good selection of donuts to choose from. I Everything was good but my husband just could not stop saying how good the apple fritter was. The breakfast burritos/sandwiches were homemade to order. More importantly, 2 things make this place stand out - 1) Breakfast sandwiches. The croissants are grilled, which adds a perfect flavor for the insides. Wife and I were up from Phoenix for the weekend, and we've checked out a lot of local eateries because we come up a lot. This is one place that we'd put on our short list because of all the positive Yelp reviews. Well, they were right! We were there early afternoon, expecting few to "nothin' left" in the donut cases, but were pleasantly surprised to find a pretty good selection. The Bavarian Cream was outstanding, and my wife loved the chocolate/chocolate with sprinkles. We tried a few other cake doughnuts (from what variety there was left) and all were great. The owner even threw in an Old-Fashioned after we'd already paid. What customer service. By the way, love the natural wood/glass display cases, looks vintage but also clean and inviting. Nice. So far, I like. A very pleasant find. These are REAL donuts. They are nothing like supermarket donuts, and definitely better than Dunkin, which we don't have here anyway. The staff are nice, and friendly. My only knock is the price for a dozen. $12.50. But maybe I'm just too old fashioned. The price of everything is going up, sadly. I recommend a visit. They're the new kid in town. My hubby likes cake donuts with chocolate icing. When we arrived at the store they had chocolate cake with icing and plain cake donuts. They whipped a half dozen plain cake donuts out of the case and had chocolate frosting on them in minutes. Now that's customer service. The apple fritters were delicious too. 1st time I've gotten the chance to finally try Outlaw donuts from the food truck in the parking lot at Hwy 69 & Glassford Hill road. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious, with chunks of pulled pork versus shreds, not too heavy on the barbecue sauce and on a soft cibatta role instead of the traditional hamburger bun. Did baked beans & macaroni & cheese as my sides which were both delicious. Got a buttermilk bar & a Maple bacon donut to go.
