The portion advertised (and standard at most bbq places)

This was our first time coming here after receiving a recommendation to try it. We ordered online and the food was ready for pick up in the stated time frame. You would think that a restaurant who only does take out would have a better presentation in its to go containers. My husband ordered a 2 meat 2 side plate and both his sides were essentially combined, as were his meats. His container was on the top in the oversized bag on top of a container with a potato and then a container with a sandwich at the bottom. Stacked completely out of weight order. His had also leaked all over everything else so it was a mess. The food itself was just OK. The best item was the cow boy baked potato. The side of corn tasted fresh out of a can, not sure how it's "Cajun". The beans (now mixed with corn) had a nice flavor and probably would have been really great by themselves. My husband didn't eat much of his chopped brisket so that must have not been tasty. He did eat all the chicken. My pulled pork sandwich was really lacking on the amount of meat. I ending up eating it open face because there was way too much bread for the tiny smear of pork. My daughter liked the Mac n cheese and she's picky. If I ever come back it will probably only be for a potato.

Very quick service, food was amazing! We had the Outlaw potato which was huge (shared between two people) and the pulled pork sandwich.

Parked by there with my truck during a snow storm overnight...walked over and got some food during the snow. AMAZING. That loaded baked potato was so freaking good, and huge. Turned into three meals for me.

The food was AMAZING. We ordered at the drive through and it was super quick basically no wait time

Love potatoes? Love barbecue meat? Love classic barbecue sides? If yes to any of these questions then Outlaw Potato Shack has your cravings covered - and then some. This little nondescript shack in the corner of a shopping plaza off W Ridge Rd in Greece serves up tasty, potato-fied barbecue goodness via drive-thru. Portions are massive (I've tried to power through the Outlaw Potato, but alas... I can't eat it all in one sitting), and that may be because each potato is over 1lb before toppings. Okay, okay... they offer non-potato options too, including ribs, sandwiches (pulled pork, brisket, or bbq chicken), and platters (choice of meat + 2 sides + corn bread). Sides includes classics like coleslaw and baked beans or blazn' corn and broccoli & cheese. Service is quick. This isn't a 5 star rating mainly because I would have liked some plastic cutlery or napkins to be included in the 'to go' bag since a friend and I were planning to go to a nearby park and eat lunch, picnic, and read for a bit. We figured things out though!

Highly recommended by a friend. Service was good. I ordered online & food was ready right on time. Cornbread is delicious too.

The picture doesn't do it justice. The ride home kind of smooshed it, but believe me, the Cowboy Potato is amazing!

An amazing lunch on a cold winter day! The potato is huge, and the toppings are generous. I got the Cowboy potato (without meat), and it was so good! Tasty and filling. I only managed to eat half and look forward to eating the rest later. Customer service was friendly and fast. And the delicious smells coming from inside the shack need to be made into a candle :-) ! If you've been wondering about the Potato Shack - treat yourself and try it soon!

A little shack looking joint with good food and friendly service. We decided to try outlaw Potato Shack on a Saturday evening. We pulled up and the server was ready at the window (this is sort of drive thru, but they do have a picnic table outside in case you want to eat right away vs bringing home) we paid $12.00 a piece for the outlaw potato. You can pick what type of BBQ meat you want on top. They were huge!!! Definitely worth $12.00 and not to mention delicious and not greasy like fast food. I would definitely at least trying it once. They do have regular BBQ options as well, not just potatoes. Don't let the shack like atmosphere turn you away. We will definitely be back.

Three meat plate with beans, broccoli and rice casserole, corn muffin
    Lisa M.

First time and got it delivered! Everything came neatly packaged without spills. We split a three meat combo plate and found it to be more than enough food for two. I thought the pulled pork was on the sweeter side, which I didn't mind and the pulled chicken was quite moist with a tangy flavor. The beef wasn't the prettiest girl at the party, but it was my boyfriend's favorite out of the three for its smokiness. The meal came with two sides and corn bread. The baked beans were a win for both of us. The broccoli and cheese casserole was comforting, but next time we will switch it up to something different. The corn muffin was tasty but really sweet. I didn't mind this, but they did remind me more of a sweet glazed breakfast muffin or a corn cake, just in case you like your corn bread more on the savory side. That being said it was not dry and definitely had flavor. A huge plus was the price, which is quite affordable compared to other big bbq spots locally.

Went here to grab a few gift cards and decided it was perfect time to get some food. This potato is more than enough for two adults if not three. The staff are super friendly and the food came out super quick! I am so glad we have this location for food

For years, I had no issues--until one of the security guards, an older light-skinned man with dreadlocks who has worked there forever, began targeting me for no reason. On multiple occasions he acted aggressive and confrontational toward me, even though I never raised my voice or reacted negatively. The last incident was the worst. He disrespected me in a way no customer should ever experience, threatened to "f** me up,"* and had me banned despite the fact that I never did anything to him. His hostility seems to stem from the fact that he doesn't like someone I happen to associate with--someone who also never disrespected him. What makes this even more concerning is that the owner appears to allow this type of behavior. I've seen this guard act out for years, and instead of correcting it, it feels like it's been encouraged. Many people I know have had negative experiences at this bar, and some have even lost their lives due to the environment created when drug activity is allowed inside. I've spent thousands of dollars here over the last 17 years, and never have I been disrespected the way I was by someone who is supposed to ensure customer safety. I considered speaking to the owner directly, but based on what I've witnessed, I truly believe she condones this behavior from her staff. After nearly two decades of loyalty, I can confidently say I will never return.

I've been there a few times, but it's been a few years. My wife had never gone there, so I thought it'd be nice to introduce her to the place. It was a nice warm night so they had the doors open and everybody pretty much was sitting outside. They have a lot of tables outside - some on the patio and a whole bunch out on the lawn. It's a very family friendly place, with games to play out on the lawn for the kids and adults. They have a decent menu of sandwiches burgers and the usual appetizers/starters. I wasn't that hungry so believe it or not. I ordered off of the kids menu! The burgers were huge. They were double patties and I didn't think I needed that. So I ordered the chicken strips/chicken fingers which came with their potato differs, which are like thin potato wedges. You had your choice of sauces so I got barbecue and lime Crema. Both were really good. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich and could only eat part of it because it was huge too. It also came with the potato dippers. She liked what she had of it! So there is a farm that is part of Blue Barn Cidery and they just harvest it a whole bunch of blueberries so they are selling blueberry confections in their gift shop. When you first walk in you walk right through the gift shop which sells honey and candles and T-shirts, etc. They have a whole bunch of choices of cider, but I'm more of a beer guy so I got my favorite, which is Other Half Green City IPA. My wife hasn't been drinking, but she absolutely loves root beer and they have Saranac root beer there so she was happy. It was a very relaxing place to have some dinner and a drink and listen to some music outside. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back.

The highlight of our meal was the vegan burger. My daughter was genuinely impressed and said it was delicious. It's great to see a restaurant offering a vegetarian option that's actually flavorful and satisfying. I ordered the steak salad, and sadly, it was very disappointing. The steak was so tough that I had to spit out almost every bite because it was impossible to chew and swallow. The salad was also served in a deep bowl, which made it difficult to toss everything together with the dressing. A wider bowl or plate would have made it much easier to eat. For an appetizer, we ordered the New Mexican Street Corn Dip, but it looked nothing like the menu photo. It tasted mostly like plain cream cheese, had very little corn flavor, and the dip itself was oddly firm instead of creamy. The tortilla chips weren't much better they tasted stale and not fresh. I've eaten here before, and I hate to say it, but this visit left me feeling like the quality has declined. I really hope the kitchen gets back to the standards I remember because the friendly service and the great vegetarian options show that the restaurant still has potential.

Despite that I keep thinking about what I want to try next time I go. The atmosphere, scale and feel of the dining room is fantastic. It sort of feels like a Rochester version of Cheers. I love that they had all the doors open and the beautiful summer evening climate was enjoyable whether you sat inside or outside. This meant dealing with a few gnats or flies at our indoor table. I started with a Caesar side salad which was very good. The entrees we had were Salmon and Chicken Riggies. The Chicken RIggies were great. Not spicy at all but made-to-order so it could be made spicy. The pasta was perfectly tender but firm, the diced chicken was flavorful and easy to eat. It was THE most successful Chicken Riggie dish I've tried to date anywhere and I took the leftovers home to enjoy for lunch the next day, a rarity for me. The salmon was not a hit. It seemed pretty fishy especially in the areas that were thinner and had become chewier from the grill drying it out. What they call roasted corn is really 'chili powder roasted corn'. The chili powder flavor was quite pronounced and not very well integrated into the dish. It tasted like very ordinary corn with very ordinary chili powder sprinkled on it. I'm sure that isn't how the dish is made but that's what it tasted like. The Cheesy Eddie's carrot cake was absolutely perfect and tasted like it was just made. It's hard to defend the pricing. Our 2 entrees, 1 side salad, 1 soft drink and 2 small glasses of wine and 1 piece of carrot cake ended up being 145 dollars after tax and tip. If the wine pour had been a nice 9 ounce pour I would have had a single glass but I had 2 because they were small. Even with 1 wine this was going to be WELL over 100 dollars for 2 people even before tip. In any head-to-head comparison with something like The Distillery or Genesee Brew House, this pricing is probably out of line. If we go back, it will be with great appreciation for the setting and modest expectations for the food.
