My family tried the Korean bbq. Most of the meats were really great. The only meats I did not enjoy were the spicy marinaded beef and pork. For some reason the mouth texture of those specifically did not agree with me. It was a busy night so the server that came to check on us took a while to make her pass to us. We were constantly looking for her. When it was time to pay, we had to go find someone at the front for the check so we could go back up to the front to pay. When we got to the restaurant it was not that busy. Once we sat down and got to cooking, more customers came and the place became quite loud. It was a Saturday night so that was expected. This was such a great experience! For starters, definitely get both the hot pot and bbq. It's $5 more to do both and you won't be disappointed. The selection that they have is amazing. Anything and everything you can think of! I loved all the seafood for the hot pot , especially the shrimp and scallops. The hanger steak for the bbq was really good too. Tons of veggies to choose from but I especially loved the bok choy. For my broth I got the chicken flavor, which was simple and didn't have overpowering flavors BUT you can make your own sauces as a side and I ended up putting some of mine in the broth which made it SO good. Decided to try their Korean BBQ which is all you can eat. It was busy so we had about a 30 min wait. Not too bad but they might have made a few extra bucks if they had mentioned the bar area which was open but not visible from the entrance. Customer service was good even with them being busy and still new. Definitely still some snags to work out. They ran out of fried rice and eventually ran out of white rice. This just shouldn't happen in an Asian establishment. They were also out of a few of the menu items (the brisket was one). I do agree with other reviewers regarding the choice of some kind of fake butter oil for the grills which definitely contributes to the need to switch them out so often. Some kind of high smoke point cooking oil would be better. Especially when trying to get a char on the 585 steak and the beef short ribs. There is a small buffet room in the back with other meat options , hot pot options, some cooked items and sauces. It's kind of small. A larger space would have made more sense. Also each table has space for both hot pot and BBQ but if you pick a combo of both, there's an extra fee. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and I'd like to try their hot pot in the future. read more

I thought this place was great. The price to quality to variety to good atmosphere where all well balanced imo. I had many delicious different cuts of meat. I can't wait to try this place after they get their legs under them. The bar wasn't open, the servers were still learning the table numbers, and the balance of what folks will go through is still being figured out. The meats were of reasonable quality but as another reviewer mentioned, they need a neutral oil, not a butter oil, for the grill - it burns, it smokes, and it doesn't go with everything. The tables are wide, of course, but the space is loud, making it hard to talk to someone other than someone sitting on the same side of the table as you are. More separation between booths (taller separations?) and in-table vents like many places have would solve a lot of the vibe issue. Give them a few weeks, hopefully they smooth it out. Have wanted to check out this place for a while! They have separate entrance right beside the food court entrance to the mall. But they also have doors leading to the food court if you want to go shopping later on. We went for Sunday lunch and seating was ample when we came right at noon. When we left, the tables were filling up which was good to see. We opted for the all-you-eat hotpot and Korean bbq together. It's great value when it's only $5 extra to get both. Plentiful selection both on the menu and at the buffet. They also have some cooked options at the buffet which I wasn't expecting like spring rolls, dumplings and sashimi as well as dessert. I really appreciated the individual hotpot for each person to cook. Meat options were plentiful. I would stick with the more tender options for the beef and pork like the short ribs, pork belly and angus Chuck flap tail. Their 585 marinade on the meat is the one that's worth it to try. Some of their larger steak options like the hanger steak and 585 steak weren't the best grade I would say so when you grill it, it becomes quite hard to eat. I am more of a hotpot fan so in my opinion, I would try both if you go the first time but when going back, just stick with one of the options as it is a lot of food. Definitely coming back! There were so many things to choose from. First off, you could choose between hot pot, Korean bbq, or both. My friend group and I chose both. With the Korean bbq option, you can choose two meats, and then they have a self serve area area in the middle of the restaurant where you can get sliced pork belly, jumbo shrimp, and sliced beef belly as any additional meat you want to cook up. They have a variety of sauces and toppings for the soups. Some desserts as well! They also have boba tea which was yummy. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service was a little slow. We got our drinks and food initially, and then didn't see our waitress for another 45 min afterwards for any drink refills. read more

I tried All you can eat Korean and Japanese BBQ at different locations before and the concept for all places are similar. The restaurant is clean, but the bathroom is quite dark. Hopefully the light can be adjusted. I got BBQ option. Staffs took my food and drink order and brought it out later. For the Buffet room, there are sauces, vegetables, frozen and hot food items. Some of them had no label and the Bun was slightly warm, not hot. Vegetable is fresh. Most of seafood items are frozen. I tried cajun seafood and it was fresh but salty. The BBQ meat was fresh. The pork belly was all fat and barely had meat. I had to wait for staff showed up near by for me to order the next BBQ meat. Also hope the cleaning staff goes around more often, as the table got full with empty dishes and I had no room to put other items. Also I don't like the idea they put order paper on top of the fresh meat. I never seen any other restaurant put paper directly on customer food like that. This is an interesting spot in the mall that I simply had to attempt - but it is a bit overwhelming concept wise for the uninitiated into "hot pot" style restaurants (just as a disclaimer) The good: Hot Pot 585 & Korean BBQ made excellent use of this long vacant square footage, it's a lovely spot; The selection for the at table BBQ is eyebrow raised good, and the ingredients buffet well stocked and fresh. I particularly liked the seafood selection. The "iffy": I don't ever remember being served hot tea in a plastic Pepsi soda cup before, as it was a soft open perhaps the cups weren't all there yet? Maybe? Perhaps? The bad: This is a HUGE $$$ pricepoint for a family visit, and the service is a little bit spotty to say the least. While I am curious to give this another shot my family has already said they aren't going with. Also, the restroom was kinda gross. read more

This is a great restaurant for hot pot and bbq. Unlimited supplies of food for both hot pot items and bbq items, great selections of meat of your choice, beef, pork, lamb, chicken, even seafood and veggies. We were there on a Saturday night and the waiting time was about thirty minutes, the restaurant was packed, you leave them a phone number and they will called you when the table is ready. Service has some hit or miss, the place is so busy, you may not get refills orders right away, you can refill the BBQ order as many as you want but left over will be charged for $15, you can also pick your hot pot items as many times as you want. For the BBQ, you can add BBQ for paying extra 5 dollars per person, I think it's worth to pay for this deal. I am glad the lady changed our grill serveral times, because after couple cooking on the grill, it has burn over substance, char left on the grill. I am impressed with the amount of food they offer, they even have cooked lobster clam there, the frozen crab legs were on the salty side. The chair and table were large enough, it's pretty comfortable. If you choose hot pot only, make sure you turn on the heat to P6 or P7 level, the switches are located under the table. I think there is a time limit for eating there, it's about 2 hours, we finished our meal in 1:30 minutes. There are very few sweet items to choose from, but aren't we here for the hot pot and bbq? For a Korean BBQ they have a good selection of meat and vegetables. The service was good even on a busy Sunday dinner time. The ambiance is good too just was hoping the vents could be lower to the table so when it gets smoky it doesn't get in our eyes or clothes. Also, they need oil vs butter because our grill kept on burning and burnt butter is not pleasant. We had to have our grill changed 3 times. The overall experience was good though. We went here for the first time tonight and it was fantastic! The service was awesome. Our server was very kind and attentive. The buffet in the back was great and had a lot of different options.
