Today was our first visit. Let me tell you, their spot was clean! They've got a good menu and their food was good. There were a few things that I would like to suggest as possible improvements to an already pleasant menu. We ordered a few things from their menu. We ordered the Chief Beef, Chopped Cheese, Sweet Potato Fries, and Pizza Fries. The sandwiches were good. The chopped cheese would be fantastic with a more melty, creamy cheese and a slightly more tender beef. The sweet potato fries were tasty. The Chief Beef was seasoned well and tasty as well. The mustard used was good but, it would be fantastic if it was a horseradish mustard or deli mustard or some sautéed onions with mushrooms. I'm definitely willing to come back and try more things! Amazing hole in the wall deli spot. The owner said, hey, we're GOOD food NOT fast food . So worth the wait! Hubby ordered Big Tex fries w/o onion, they came out HOT and fresh. The perfect amount of BBQ sauce and the meat moist and flavorful. I ordered the cilantro lime salad that came packed to the brim with fresh green romaine lettuce, crispy sliced bell peppers, shredded pepper jack and delicious roasted corn. The cilantro dressing is house made and packed with flavor. Very fair pricing and value as well. The owner is personable with all customers that came through. This is the most blank food I have ever eaten. What they call a meat ball is just a dry round burger. Not at all what you'd expect out of a New York restaurant. Being an ex-New Yorker I was excited to read good reviews about this place. Unfortunately what I had was not good. I had the Rubin sandwich with fries. The Cornbeef was riddled with fat. The bread was barely toasted or grilled. Half of the bites I took I was pulling the sandwich trying to take a bite. Definitely, the worst Rubin I have ever had. The fries were not good either. From the second I walked in, the owner was amazingly friendly and down to earth: we don't have many people left like that in Washington. He even gave our daughter a slice of cake on the house .
