Worst customer service I'd experienced in a long time . Place looks nicer than the food and the staff. Flies having a party on my pancakes (like literally multiple aggressive flies totally having a party on my food unapologetically) , did she offer to re make or take off my bill? No instead she offered to take the first pancake off and to still eat the rest lol how unprofessional is that ? 20$ eggs and bacon came wrong . Everyone is particular about their eggs. If I wanted runny medium eggs why should I accept over done completely solid fried eggs (picture attached) with a side of burnt bacon lol likeeee . I thought this place was called overeasy ?? They can't make a decent egg?? When I told the manager and server they just gave me very passive aggressive Karen smirks , and tried to make us the issue for pointing it out, instead of validating our very obvious experience (the flies were literally so chill on my food they were still there when she came over). Now I work in this industry stream there's multiple things clearly wrong your suppose to offer to make fresh food if there choice or refund them! Quite simply the GREATEST pancakes I've ever had in my entire life. If you like pancakes, come here. Ask for Morty and then ask for the Lemon zest ricotta pancakes. Morty was attentive and very helpful and polite. Entire staff was amazing. As I took my first bite, tears of pure bliss fell from my newly whetted face as I indulged in these ricotta pancakes. The absolute perfect mixture of fluffy and soft, sweet yet subtle. 10/10 would recommend. Oh. The coffee, breakfast tacos and Mandarine mimosas are devine as well. Seriously, come here. I went there for a yogurt, it took an hour for them to get me it. Then the other people joining me had to take another 30 minutes for them to make eggs and chicken. The waitress also wouldn't give me any good excuse for why it took forever. I asked if we could get a discount or free food for all the bs, she gave us a 15% tip. I ended up paying $10 for a discounted yogurt. My other friend also had an allergy to eggs and the waitress told him that there were no eggs in some biscuits he ordered. It was only until we asked the manager to which he said there were and he could've had an allergic reaction. The whole place was really just not great especially since it's in a fancy hotel. This restaurant lost a full star for the blonde "hostess.". This woman would not seat us unless we gave her our last AND first names. When we asked why she needed more than a last name (she was seating us right away), she said "for the guest book." We were not staying at the attached hotel. There is absolutely no reason to take this information from people having breakfast. Has there been a problem with people skipping the check? Is she keeping a record for upper management to show she didn't let anyone in who values his/her privacy? If you don't want to give them your full name, come prepared with your fake name. The other 4 stars belong to our server, Mary, and whoever prepared our food. Mary was on top of things right away. Brought us water and coffee while we decided what to order. Pancakes and Sausage Biscuits with Gravy were both very good. Everything was hot and fresh when served. The food was nicely presented and the forks and knives felt substantial which is a vast improvement over almost any breakfast restaurant in town. Mary was attentive without being intrusive. This has become rare over the past year. All I had to do was look her way and she acknowledged us and came over as soon as she was finished taking an order nearby. Aw man, I've been going to Overeasy for a while because it's such a cute little downtown brunch spot, but today's meal was pretty subpar. In terms of vibe, it's definitely a cute spot and very photo-ready. Love its downtown location and the fact that it's in the Statler! The coffee is also decent, and there are good drink options. The food, however, could be better. They used to have these awesome potato croquette type of things that came with their breakfast, but it was replaced today with regular potatoes. (Bummer! The croquettes were the highlight of the breakfast, haha. Without them, it's just a typical dish of eggs and some soggy bacon.) The omelette is pretty good, and the biscuits are just okay. Overall, come here for the vibe -- not so much for the food. read more

I ordered breakfast for 2 today through Ubereats. It was over $50. We got scrambled eggs, toast, bacon and breakfast potatoes. On the side I got two extremely small fruit cups and 2 coffees. The order was packed in cardboard containers and not packed to travel. I called the restaurant and she blamed in on Uber and said they s]would refund it. Actually, the packaging is a huge problem. (Don't even get me started on the price for EGGS1). I don't normally write bad reviews but I'm out over $50 and still haven't had breakfast. read more

Overall we had a great experience. It was husband's second time and my first time there. He got the steak and eggs again.(I guess he likes it). I got the Patty Melt which was absolutely delicious: beef Patty, gruyere cheese, carmelized onions, bacon jam!!! And aioli. My sandwich came with homemade chips. We had a pleasant and attentive waitress, Ijama. The only negative I have is the One Speed Dean. It was like drinking watered down tea. My husband said that it was much stronger on his first visit. Be warned, they don't have a full bar. I will return for the food, but probably not get an libations. Oh I forgot that we also got the 5 flight deviled eggs. I liked 3 of the 5. read more

What a joke of a place!!! All hype, Over pretentiousness and nothing to back it up with!!! WORST SERVICE I've EVER had at a restaurant!!!! DO NOT give them your hard earned money! But our drinks were NO WHERE to be found!! Waited until 12:04 to get our first round of drinks, 20 min after our additional guests arrived as well... their drinks came no faster... meanwhile during this period our server could be found socializing with some guest at their "bar top" for about 15 of those minutes. When asked about why our drinks were taking so long around 11:55 I was told there was a delay because waiting folks were ordering a lot of drinks (but you just told me no one could order drinks without food and if they're waiting....you get my point...) So we figured things would improve after this after calling out our server... NOT THE LEAST!!! EVERY drink we ordered took at least 12 minutes to get to the table!! Probably spent an additional 45-60 minutes waiting on drinks and our server... DOES THIS PLACE/SERVER CARE ABOUT TURNING TABLES???!!! As for the drinks? Nothing great to write home about? Food? Small portions... average flavor... great combo and ideas on the food but just doesn't follow through with value or flavor... This used to be one of my favorite places to eat but not anymore. I ordered the Easy Living plate. I received a very small amount of potatoes. My eggs were not cooked right and the bacon was shriveled up like it was some cheap brand. I initially asked for iced tea and all they had was mango. I then asked for Dr. Pepper and it was flat. I wasn't charged for my drink because it was flat. My boyfriend ordered the same plate and his meat and potatoes were the same as mine. He ordered scrambled eggs and he wasn't happy with them either. Yummy! Recently stayed at the Stadler Hotel and this was right in our lobby so amazingly convenient for a rainy day. Got the avocado toast, sausage and biscuits, chicken and biscuits, Caesar salad, and grits. Highly recommend the Caesar salad (they make their own dressing in house), avocado toast, and sausage and biscuits. Grits were meh. Chicken tenders on the biscuit were pretty bland, but the toddler liked them so that's ok. Coffee was so yummy. Hazelnut latte with almond milk was bomb. Hubbie got the cold brew and was pretty satisfied. Overall pretty yummy brunch but wouldn't make a trek to eat here but since it was in our hotel lobby you couldn't ask for better. read more

Not friendly with strollers and wheelchairs, I was waiting by the table with a big stroller. Not really trying to take a table or something just waiting there any my wife was in the front getting in waiting list, then the manager yelled at me say I have to wait in the front, I have to lifted up the whole stroller twice to get into the front lobby, and no one offered help only the busboy helped me when we came in. Inside a pretty cool looking retro hotel called the Statler in downtown Dallas is a good breakfast restaurant called Overeasy. Came here since it was near the hotel I was staying at. I had the "easy living" which are two eggs (any style), bacon or sausage (I did both lol), potatoes, and a choice of toast (I upgraded it to their house-made biscuit). I didn't regret upgrading to the biscuit since our waiter really talked them up and they were pretty darn good. I ordered soft scrambled eggs (which surprisingly not many bfast establishments are willing to do), and the bacon crispy as well as their house-made pork sausage. Everything was delicious and up to par in my book. My biz partner got the eggs with honey ham on biscuit. He said it was good as well but heavy. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Overall, just okay. We arrived around 10:40AM. They have a share table and we offered to sit there, but the host said he had others he was going to seat there, so we got on the waitlist (ok that's fine, expected). We got a cinnamon roll at the grab and go area to eat as a snack while we waited. I asked them to heat it up for a few seconds and they refused, stating that their bakers told them not to do that. Well, even if it's not the "correct" way to eat their cinnamon roll, can't you accommodate a customer who feels differently? We sat down to eat our snack while we waited. After 20 minutes of seeing no one seated at the 4 spots left at the share table--and others seated before us--I asked the waiter why we couldn't sit there. He quickly said, "Oh sorry, I didn't want y'all to think I was seating others before y'all. You can sit there, but I do have a table ready." We sat at the table. We noted that the mimosas were $8. I stuck with water and asked for a straw. The waitress responded, "Do you want to save the turtles or do you really want a straw? Sorry, we have to say that." I said, I'll take a straw, thanks. (Nevermind their other non-eco friendly to go bags, etc. and the fact they could use and promote paper straws.). We ordered and our food arrived 30 minutes later. That's a fairly long wait for bacon and eggs... just sayin! It was also very smoky and hot inside the restaurant from the kitchen. Not exactly the relief we were wanting from the 100 degree weather outside. And the waitress never came to refill our drinks. That said, the food was very good when it came. We even left smelling like breakfast because it was smoky inside ha! For us, the cons outweighed the pros on this restaurant unfortunately. PROS 1) Close to downtown 2) Food was very good 3) If you want a patio, there is a small one outside CONS 1) Hotel guests get priority in the wait list (we verified this with the host) 2) $8 mimosas (sorry, if you're paying over $5 per mimosa in Dallas for brunch you're living under a rock. Even Ascension has cheaper!) 3) they won't accommodate requests to heat up to-go items 4) they're judge-y about straw use, instead of promoting paper straws 5) smoky inside - you'll smell like your breakfast - which if lots of folks are ordering bacon perhaps isn't too bad 6) it's either not very fast or they're understaffed read more

I went here for brunch with my boyfriend on my birthday. The service was horrible. No one greeted us when we walked in, we sat ourselves, it took someone about 15-20 minutes to greet us and bring us waters to the table. We tried the deviled-eggs appetizer that they are famous for we didn't particularly like any of them. We were not impressed. We wanted to order mimosas, and the waiter told me that they were out of all juices. So we opted for just champagne. LATER, two tables next to us all had mimosas. Orange Juice, etc. I was like?!... It took a while for our food to be delivered to the table - we were not in a hurry so it didn't bother us, however, waiting on water refills, and champagne refills was not awesome. Our waiter had so many excuses of why he was so absent, even one time said, "Oh, I apologize, the owner of the hotel is here, and I want to make him a priority." Really cute diner inspired restaurant. We ordered the deviled eggs, brisket hash, and steak and eggs, which was delicious. I wish my review over the food was a little more elaborate. But unfortunately, my takeaway from this experience here towards the end was not enjoyable. The lady with denim outfit, top and bottom, was being snarky when she asked me if I order the smoked salmon and refuse to let me take a look at the dish, pulling the dish away as I leaned towards to take a look. It was a natural reaction for me to take a peek at the dish but it wasn't like I was gonna touch the food on it. Went here for a Sunday brunch with my aunt and uncle. We had about a 15 minute wait. They take your number and text you when your table is ready. I ordered "The Easy Living". It comes with 2 eggs any style, sausage or bacon, 2 hash bombs and choice of toast. I had never heard of a hash bombs, but they were sooo delicious! It is like mashed potatoes, with hash browns, cheese, and chives (maybe) all inside this fried layer. Super good, must try. I didn't give this 5 stars because it wasn't enough food, haha. Food was gross!! I ordered a chicken fried steak at 2pm yesterday, my bf got the commerce burger, tasted like the cooks really just half assed it. All we did was take two bites, paid then gave our food to homeless people. We expected so much coming from a restaurant from the statler but in comparison it's like the Applebee's of Downtown I'm pregnant and was starving & in a good mood yesterday or else I would've never paid $55 for this overrated place. Came for a weekday lunch alone and ordered the vegetable moussaka. The food itself was good but pretty salty, and I wish there was more of the tiny bit of salad they had on the plate. It was a good amount of food for $12, and I left full, but probably won't order that again. The most notable part of my meal was the slow service. First it started with the hostess who silently led me to the bar, and then to a small table when I requested it. Her service wasn't the most friendly. Then my server didn't provide the fastest service, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. I guess having another server on the floor would help with that. I waited a while for more water, which is served in a small glass which looks nice but doesn't make much sense if you don't leave a water carafe on the table. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the fact that everything on the table is reusable/washable, so no waste came from my lunch. If you have only 30 minutes for a lunch break, you'll be cutting it super close here. I'll try something else next time, and hopefully the service is a bit friendlier and quicker. read more

This place seemed pretty cool as fast as the atmosphere and i figured we're only ordering breakfast can't go wrong there. Right? Well maybe not. I ordered their Avocado toast as well as their two egg breakfast and i honestly wasn't impressed. The avocado toast had pretty much no flavor and my eggs were a little runny. The hash browns were good but nothing memorable. I wouldn't say I'll never go back because they did have good customer service but it's just not a place I'd thinking about going too. This probably enables them to mix back to a greenish color as it goes brown throughout the morning. Regardless, it was inedible in our opinion. The deviled eggs flights were also gross. Instead of a creamy whipped center, it had a crumbled look that was a very unusual consistency for deviled eggs. Again, my wife and I were unable to eat them. Despite the bad food, the Service was friendly and our coffees were both good. Overeasy is located in the Statler hotel. This is a great breakfast place and in walking distance of the central district downtown. My son and I usually hit up overeasy after we get haircuts. This is now our new place and is going to give Ellen's Southern kitchen a run for their money... you want to the best omelette you've ever had in your life? Check out the 'perfect omelette' it's like eating a sponge cake of perfect made eggs. It can be a bit pricey, for two people breakfast may run up to $40- so definitely take that into consideration, however it's worth it. read more

I came here recently for brunch because we heard about the cool rooftop bar. It was busy for a Sunday brunch, but they had a cool lobby where you can order drinks as you wait for your table. They're known for their biscuits and hash bombs here, so I had to try it out. Honestly, they weren't great. I've had better biscuits (Ida Claire's), and the hash bombs were underwhelming. I did order their omelette, and that was great! It was fluffy and smooth, but a little simple. Would have liked a side of spinach or mushrooms or something to cut through all the eggs. The star of the meal was the Woodstock. The grapefruit juice was refreshing and contrasted the Tito's well. Definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come here again considering parking was a mess. We just sat down for brunch. We ordered two cappuccinos and a latte. The waitress brought three cappuccinos. When my friend pointed out that she wanted a latte the waitress responded "they are the same thing." We pointed out that there not. Then we proceeded to argue for 2 min, trying to explain to her what a latte is. She then said, in a very demeaning way, "well dear how do you want me to fix it?" Just insane treatment from a waitress. By the way we are three Europeans, two of us are Italian. I think we know how lattes are made. Anyhoo she literally just brought another cappuccino in a bigger cup. Ugh. But she said all of the coffee drinks will be on the house. Which is nice but I would have preferred better treatment from the start. I hope the brisket egg dish is good or I probably won't be back. This is probably the nicest restaurant that's in a hotel I've been too. The chilaquilles were so good I inhaled my food the salsa and beans in it combined so well together along with the chips and egg. It was so flavorful I loved it. The brisket hash was so good. There was a sunny side up egg on top and the brisket was really tender, the seasoning was done really well and it tasted delicious. I would totally come back.
