    Friend chicken with waffles

The ambience truly has a delightful charm, filled with character that makes this little downtown gem special. It was our first visit, and while the service was overall friendly -- we appreciated the effort -- we did experience a bit of a wait for the hostess to seat us, but we understood it was a busy day. I decided to try their special crab benedict, while my partner and our friends chose the waffle and chicken, French toast, and eggs benedict with ham. The speed of service was impressive, which we really appreciated! However, I was a bit disappointed with my eggs benedict. Unfortunately, the eggs and overall dish arrived at a tepid temperature, and the yolks were runnier than I had expected. I didn't specify any preferences, but typically, eggs benedict feature a well-cooked white and a warm, runny yolk. My friend, who ordered jammy yolks, faced a similar issue. On a brighter note, the hollandaise sauce was fantastic, and the French toast and waffle with chicken were enjoyable as well, even if they weren't as memorable as we had hoped.

Great ambiance, cozy and comfortable. We visited restaurant for lunch, all picked salads, and we were all happy with our choices. I had beets salad with salmon which was very tasty. The restaurant has a very serious coffee machine which our waitress was bragging about, and I have to say that an espresso I had was one of the very best I ever had at a restaurant. Excellent service, nice, prompt, friendly. Recommended.

Absolutely loved this place! What stood out the most was the service! Wendy and Happy were our host and server and they were so nice, funny and warm!! We felt so welcome and cared for. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The food was also delicious - highly recommend the imperial (crab) eggs Benedict and the scrambled eggs. If you get the burger, get the temperatures one degree cooler than you normally would. Amazing experience

Parked on the street. $1.25 for an hour Greeted warmly to be sat. I came to eat lunch on a Friday late morning. So warm and relaxed ambiance with Christmas music playing and home alone playing on the bar tv on silent. Eggs Benedict was great! Also tried the almond croissant. The dirty chair with oat milk was so beautiful and yummy. They have stevia too! Water tastes good. Beautifully decorated and welcomed by manager/owner too! Very friendly, posh spot. Thank you Yeehaw! 5 stars

I needed to go to Dallas for an event today and after this last week's winter weather, I wanted to support a local business. Based on the "Parisian croissant" description and the price point, I settled on this spot. I was impressed with this place from the vibe outside, to the music, the staff that asked me TONS of questions and even gave me a complimentary croissant since they were going to throw them out when they closed because it was the end of the week. I met the owner who filled me in at length about how the only thing they serve that comes in a box truck is the French fries (but that's just because the there have been some rising costs lately due to tariffs). She makes all their salad dressings in house and so much more! She also told us that she doesn't do much advertising on social media since she would rather not be "the latest trend". Admirable to say the least! I will DEFINITELY return and bring more people! The Valentine Cocktails are dropping Monday!

Service here was great. The restaurant is beautiful. I had a pancake and bacon which were good. It's a cute place inside with lots of room for photo opportunities. They have lots of specially drinks to try as well.

We are from Oklahoma and wanted a good brunch place for our Saturday. It's a quaint little place with a big bar, amazing food, and a cute little set up inside. The food was phenomenal but that breakfast burger was THE BEST.

omg, such an unassuming spot right downtown. CLASSY, cozy, and with plenty of outlets for work. obviously not the cheapest menu ever but with enough range that everyone can make something shake! i got a delicious smoothie. more than that, the service is incredible, you can tell the owner cares about the business deeply. 10/10 date night or happy hour spot... reminds me of europe...

Good food, service, and cool decor. Not many people. They have an upright piano in the corner too. I had their burger and fries. It was good. I'll be back.

Loved this place. Been open for 18 months, but it's gearing up to be a hot spot! Our waiter, Bowser, made the experience over the top. Of course the food was to perfection I had the eggs royal, hubs had the breakfast plate and daughter had the Waygu breakfast burger. Hand crafted coffees were delicious! Thank you!

Needed a breakfast away from hotel. The ambience is pretty good. Good vibe and all. I asked for "Power Bowl". Yes it was ok, it hit the spot. May I suggest having an option with quinoa instead of potatoes. Then it truly can be called "super". Besides that, I liked the spinach, I liked avocado. I noticed a full barista offerings. There is a well stocked bar where I sat at. Yes, one can have a liquid breakfast.

After years of hunting for the perfect downtown Dallas breakfast spot, I think I've finally found "the one." The Metropolitan on Main is a breakfast haven, a coffee shop, a bar, a pastry counter, and a lunch spot--basically, it's a one stop shop for your culinary cravings. Who knew you could get it all in one place? Too Long; Didn't Read: Great food, generous portions, fair prices, and an ambiance that says, "Maybe I should call in sick and stay a little longer." Breakfast: The croissants here deserve their own fan club--flaky, buttery, and sophisticated enough to make you say "bonjour" without sounding ridiculous. Whether Adolfo (the MVP barista/server) mentioned importing the bread or the butter from France, I'm not quite sure. Either way, they taste like Paris itself--minus the jet lag. Lunch: The croissant sandwich is a game-changer. Honestly, as someone who usually sees salads as a necessary evil, the beet chicken salad was shockingly good. It was flavorful, the chicken was actually juicy (imagine that!), and I finished the whole thing without any resentment. Not your average sad salad. Drinks: The drinks are solid and easy on the wallet. Way better than the overpriced, sugary concoctions at the mermaid chain that shall not be named. Their matcha is a standout--served in its purest, no-sugar-added glory. It's a refreshing option for those of us who prefer to taste the matcha instead of just its sugary afterlife. Dinner & Entertainment: Dinner service is available Wednesday through Friday, but I haven't tried it yet. However, they do have live music on Fridays, which instantly makes dinner there sound like a good idea. I'll update the review once I check this off the list with my thoughts. Happy Hour: Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and features specials that make your after-work drinks even more satisfying. Budget-friendly buzz? Sign me up. Pro Tip: In a rush? Go tech-savvy. Use the QR code at your table to order and pay without waiting for a server, or scan the one outside to order ahead for a quick pick-up. And here's a secret: they have a stellar little special that includes rye bread, honey, feta cheese, and three cups of tea--all for just a few bucks. It's simple, satisfying, and quickly becoming my personal favorite. Ask for Noemi's special. Flip Side: The only downside to their high-tech ordering system? Once you choose your path (QR code or traditional server), you're committed. No switching back and forth, so choose wisely, like you're picking sides in a medieval duel. The long and short of it: The Metropolitan on Main is the kind of place that makes you glad you didn't settle for an ordinary café. With standout pastries, great coffee, and a menu that delights from breakfast to lunch--and hopefully dinner--it's one of those rare spots where every visit feels like a win.

The service was excellent, and our server gave us some great recommendations throughout the evening. We tried the I Dream of Kiwi, Only Fans, and the Soft Serve Margarita. The first two were refreshing, fruity, and packed with flavor, while the Soft Serve Margarita was a fun twist on a classic. For food, we had the Caesar salad, beef cheek tacos, and the Apothecary Burger with the truffle fries upgrade. The Caesar was a little too heavy on the dressing for my taste, making it quite fishy, so I'd recommend asking for the dressing on the side or going light on it. The burger with truffle fries was easily a 9/10, and the beef cheek tacos were just as good--tender, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. One of the best parts is the happy hour offered every day until 6:30 PM, with all "Over the Counter" cocktails for $12 and 50% off food. It's one of the better happy hour deals in Dallas, especially considering the quality of the food, drinks, and overall experience. We'll definitely be back.

We were huge fans of Meddlesome Moth(which had closed a few months prior). The beer list didn't excite me(I'm a beer snob) but the bar vibe and the great staff quickly made me forget about that. We eat there twice a month now and when we don't get in on a regular schedule, we really miss it. I'm a huge fan of the steak frites and my wife loves the weekly pasta dishes which never disappoint. The cocktails are great and they're made by the friendliest barkeeps in town(Matt, Christine) Christopher keeps the place flowing and Brittani(owner) is great and always welcoming. The overall vibe is comfy and totally unpretentious. Goldies is a hidden gem but has quickly become a popular spot. Great spots like this don't stay hidden very long. Highly recommended! Carter L

Food, however, wasn't great, we came multiple times last year and it was fantastic all around, last night?... New risotto appetizer was flavorless 4/10, sauce was outstanding 9/10. Chicken meatballs were 6/10, salty, but sauce again was 8.5/10. Bread with the meatballs was 9/10. Nightly special was 9/10, chicken thigh wrapped chicken leg, amazing sauce and carrots. Special sauce with the nightly special stole the night at 9.5/10 - I'd order a bowl of that and call it a night! Magic Chicken Thighs were 6/10, overly salted and dry - side arugula salad was a salt bomb 2/10. Sweet potatoe purée was 7.5/10. Burger and fries were 7/10, solid and above average. Salmon was 7/10, slightly overcooked. Mac & Cheese was 3/10, below average, dry, almost flavorless - paid $4 for bacon topping and it was dry also. Noodles were dried out and the cheese sauce was at the bottom of the cup, tasted like they scooped in pre-made noodles, added sauce, threw it in the oven and off it went - didn't appear mixed together at the least. Carrots, solid 8/10. Overall, I'd be tempted to give it another try, the ambiance and overall feel is awesome - then hope the food is great again and make it a perfect Friday night spot, but for $275 for the 4 entree's, 2 appetizer's and 2 drinks we got last night? I'd argue it wasn't worth it.
