It was a nice Sunday morning, so we decided to sit outside since the wait for our party of 9 was pretty long. One of the waiters brought out a complimentary fresh dish while we waited, which was a really nice touch and it was amazing. We devoured it in minutes. Turns out it was their apple pancake. If it's not picked up in time, they give it out while it's still fresh. Definitely a highlight. We mostly stuck to classic breakfast items: * Blueberry pancakes - really good * Breakfast burrito - just okay, but I wanted to try it * Bacon - thick and cooked perfectly * Crepes - delicious We didn't go inside, but from the outside it looked pretty spacious and able to handle a crowd. Wanted sanctity and searched on Yelp. This spot sounded appealing so I had to see this local icon. Got in the waitlist through Yelp and received a text that my table was ready while I was parking. That was quick! Don't let a seemingly long wait dissuade you from booking a reservation- my 25 minute estimated wait was more like 8 minutes. I was greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. So what a menu- hard to decide but know this- they have all kinds of brunch favorites and not just pancakes. They have egg Benedict dishes, omelettes, biscuits and gravy as well as healthier choices. Got the eggs, corned beef hash, bacon steak and great ancient grains pancakes...and a "to go" box! The corned beef hash was super fresh with tiny cubes of potatoes and onions. My waitress popped over to let me know that my food was in the works and refilled my very good coffee. If you have not been here yet, you have to check it out! The food was excellent -- we ordered an omelette, pancakes, and bacon, and everything was fresh and delicious. What really made the experience stand out was our server, Jacob. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure our coffee and tea were always refilled without us having to ask. He kept us updated on our order, checked in regularly, and was very accommodating by allowing me to customize my omelette exactly how I wanted it. East Dallas area this is always a great spot for breakfast or lunch! Plenty of parking nice atmosphere tables and booths . Everyone is welcoming quick service and food is great. They offered a a cold green tea Matcha drink unfortunately I don't like the cold drinks so their manager was kind enough to make a Matcha drink hot for me and it was delicious and I really appreciated her making this hot for me. Eggs Benedict was made perfectly and tasty along with the breakfast combo , bacon, eggs, pancakes all cooked to perfection. Next time we'll try some lunch items. read more

It's a clear upgrade from IHOP. This establishment embraces local goodness over corporate efficiency at every level. They locally source several ingredients and prepare meals without microwaves or freezers. Our server introduced himself with an outgoing persona, followed by the backstory of the restaurant. It comes as no surprise that the estimated wait time clocked in at an hour on a Sunday morning (our group got lucky and only waited ~10 minutes). Since everything on the menu is made to order, cooking times will take longer than the average diner. My group of 5 waited 20-25 minutes for our food to come out. I opted for the Farmhouse combo -- normally bacon, eggs, and pancakes, but I substituted the pancakes for a strawberry Belgian waffle (about +$4). The bacon is truly something else. I'm normally not a fan of bacon, but they seared it perfectly and the thick texture felt just right. Eggs tasted standard. Waffle had a delightful amount of fluff to it, but otherwise tasted standard. Solid breakfast diner with a great story behind it. I enjoyed the experience from beginning to end, but the prices deter me from revisiting soon. With the strawberry Belgain waffle substitute, my total came out to $19.36 before tip. It seems pretty bizarre to upcharge for a single waffle versus the standard 3-stack of pancakes. At least it's going toward supporting a local business. read more

The food was absolutely glorious, the waiter was attentive and lovely, and the restaurant was filled with warm smells and patrons gathering for fellowship and food. This was a really good find. I love the ambiance of the place. It was a really good mixture of old time and modern. The portion size of the food was plentiful, and it was really pretty good. I judge breakfast place on how they cook grits. Grits are a southern food that are actually hard to get right. They nailed it. We ordered the Dutch baby and a farmhouse plate that comes with 3 pancakes, scrambled eggs, and 2 slices of bacon. Everything came out fresh and tasted about how you'd expect. My husband, daughter, and I were seated right away with no wait time, which was great at first. However, after being seated, no server ever came to greet us or take our order. We waited about 20 minutes and still received no service, so we ended up leaving. It was disappointing, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. Unfortunately, this location did not meet the standard I've experienced at your other restaurants. I have visited several of your locations before and have never had an issue like this. The food took approximately 38 minutes to arrive and was cold when it came out. I returned my meal, and when the manager, Cathy, came over, she asked what the issue was but did not stay to address the concern and walked away without offering any resolution. We waited 40 minutes and still never received our order. Our server was very kind and apologetic, and you could tell they were doing their best. What made the experience disappointing was the lack of response from management. We ended up going pretty early which was great because there wasn't a wait! Greeted by everyone, they were really friendly! My daughter had the waffle sundae. Loved all the fruit they put on there but I wish the waffle was crispy and not soggy from all the sauce they put on top. Hubby had the breakfast tacos with potatoes. I tried some of his potatoes and they were well seasoned. I had the bacon steak which was good! My brother had their buttermilk pancakes which was nothing special. I decided to stop by with my daughter, but the experience was extremely disappointing. As soon as we walked in, there was no clear system to keep track of customers or their place in line. We waited about 30 minutes just to be seated, and then another 30 minutes passed without anyone coming to our table no server greeted us, took drink orders, or even acknowledged us. After waiting an hour with no service at all, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've dealt with excessive wait times here. On a previous visit, we waited over an hour for our food. We arrived at 10:00 and didn't receive our meals until noon. Waited for 45 min for a table (expected for a Sunday morning) and ordered the bacon avocado Benedict x2, a Dutch baby, omelette and kids meal. We specifically asked for soft poached eggs. Both of our Bennies arrived with hard eggs after an almost hour long wait. One of us decided not to wait. I opted to get what we were paying $18 for; a POACHED egg on eggs Benedict. Not rocket science. After 20 min of no eggs I asked them to just give me over easy so I could eat SOMETHING. 20 more minutes and the manager comes out to apologize to the one person who wasn't even having eggs Benedict. Comped her $15 Dutch baby and the kids meal?!? Then brought out 4 watery, uncooked egg whites (ick) to accompany my cold food. The "poor cook" was having trouble poaching eggs. Gobsmacked. The Dutch baby was ok, omelette was good, just don't order ANY of the Bennie's. Poaching an egg is beyond their line cook. And next time there's an issue with a customers order? the manager needs to comp the right customer. 2 Benedict's were over $36. The Dutch baby and kids meal were $21. This place isn't what it used to be. The restaurant has a nostalgic feel which I enjoyed. I ordered the Farm house and added strawberries to the top. I really liked my pancakes they were cooked perfectly; unfortunately my eggs were extremely greasy, but my bacon was delightful. I also order the orange juice and it wasn't worth the $5 I paid for it. The orange juice wasn't that great and it was very warm, however my mother enjoyed hers. I would rate this location a zero. The hostess is extremely rude and can't manage a wait list, randomly removes names and ignores people asking for assistance. The managers don't come to check in on the front end. This has happened to me multiple times. So sad and annoying AF. read more
