    Mocha latte
    Daniel M.

I've been here in the past for nice mocha latte. Today I stopped in for lunch and a coffee. I had enough time that I decided to sit and eat there. I didn't catch the name of the cashier/barista/server but it was clear she wore many hats. Ultra friendly and inviting atmosphere. I went with the Italian Beef and a side of tomato soup. The beef was nice and made in house. You can tell the beef was cooked closer to a roast style VS thinly shaved top round. Really in-house vs store bought. The giardiniera added a nice subtle crunch. Tomato soup was very good. The latte was stunning. Overall an amazing lunch. I look forward to going back and trying the burger.

We loved our visit to Parterre, located downtown within walking distance of Thanksgiving Chapel and the AT&T Discovery District. It's located on the ground floor of the Santander Tower at the corner of Elm and North Ervay. Parking is beneath it in a parking garage that is outrageously priced, but Parterre provides validation for three hours of free parking to customers. We ordered the Turkey AVO sandwich, a buttery crisp, savor turkey delight on thick sourdough. The blackened shrimp tacos were also yummy with a rich sauce and sweet corn. I'd recommend the corn tortillas over flour. We also sampled two coffees: Everything Nice & Caramel Apple Cider. Noth were well balanced and delicious, though only 10 oz. Service was a little slow, we had to ask for things several times. But, it was nice to not feel rushed. I might have been more relaxed had I known when we sat down the parking was free. Also, the glass at our table looked several days past the need to be cleaned. It's possible some party was there with kids putting food-fingers all over it. But there was a layer of dust outside too, which hindered the fun of people watching in this area. Ambience was light, open, and airy. Would repeat!

Been eating here for years, still crazy delicious! Very nice attentive service. The new biscuits are absolutely amazing, crispy crust, buttery dense cake like inside. Our waiter told us that the chef received a raise based his unique biscuit creation. Crunchy flavorful chicken filet. Served with fresh strawberry puree, chili honey. Coffee bar is exceptional too: Nitro Coffee Green Tea Latte

This place has amazing lattes - they were delicious! We came for brunch on Mother's Day (last minute decision). Cute atmosphere/decor. Seats were very hard definitely would be nice to add some cushion. Our order was placed and the server came back to us 10-15 minutes later when she realized she had not entered it into the system so we had a long wait for our food. However we grabbed a muffin from the counter and sipped on our lattes and cocktails - both were good! Once our food finally came I had ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries - it was okay (I could not taste any spice). My husband had the hot honey chicken and biscuits which also came with eggs and potatoes. Plenty of food for the price, but also kind of bland. The biscuit was different than expected. My husband picked this spot because he saw waffles on the website. This is a small kitchen and they change their menu items out so no waffle option and chicken and biscuit was the closest thing according to our server. The whole experience was okay. The music playlist was really good. We will likely come back for coffees but will sit at the bar next time!

Great service, very good food. French toast was my favorite, the biscuits are very different but good. Croissant breakfast sandwiches were flaky fresh and not over done. My only complant was the naked lady pictures were not centered in the wall but I have problems so.

A Matcha( added vanilla and caramel) and a latte

Stopped by this coffee shop and had a really delicious matcha! It was perfectly smooth, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness. The atmosphere was amazing--relaxed, stylish, and the kind of place you could hang out for hours. Definitely my new favorite spot for a matcha fix

The breakfast tacos were delicious and quick. They were a little greasy but delicious. The vanilla matcha was also very good. Cute little cafe with plenty of seating, great to work or hang out solo.

So fancy! I stopped by Parterre for a quick, light lunch before work. I felt a little self-conscious because I was the only one there, but I sat at the bar (my favorite spot) anyways. Everyone was super nice. I got a Salmon Bagel & Strawberry Matcha, which I suppose were a little pricey, but I expensed them for work so that really didn't matter to me. Both items were delicious! The Salmon Bagel ($16) had all the fixings--cream cheese, dill, capers, pickled red onions, and smoked salmon--on an everything bagel. I don't think it was caffeinated, but the Strawberry Matcha ($8.50) had strawberry, matcha, and milk. Would come back again, next time for cocktails. The seating situation is cute, too!

The space is nice and they have live Jazz on Friday nights. I came here for a dinner party and the experience gave off that they weren't equipped to handle large parties or they simply weren't prepared that night even though the event was reserved in advance. Our waiter struggled to keep track of orders and appeared disorganized. Another waiter eventually stepped in to assist and he ended up doing a phenomenal job. He picked up slack and had more knowledge to offer about the menu. If not for our secondary waiter, we probably would have left a lot sooner, live Jazz be damned. The Food: I ordered Steak Frites and it was just what I needed in that moment. My medium steak was prepared perfectly and the fries were delicious. Did I mention how good the fries were? I didn't care for the broccolini that came out looking like garnish as opposed to an actual side. On top of that, it had an extreme crunch to it as if was roasted for too long... so disappointing.

Food, prices, and the service was excellent. Their coffee was great as well. Will definitely be visiting again next time I have the chance.

My husband brought me here on a Saturday morning after getting facials! Surprisingly the place wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. We ended up moving to the bar to better see the TVs. The decore is cute yet modern. Xavier , our bartender, took great care of us offering several great recommendations. I ended up getting an espresso martini. It was called the cafe Amande. It was delicious and perfectly presented. I also ordered the steak frites which was filing and flavorful. I ended up getting a second drink . A gimlet with tequila instead of the standard vodka. Very refreshing . We finished off our Saturday brunch with shots of casamigo! We'll definitely be returning !

BEC Sandwich and iced vanilla latte.
    Arpa A.

Very trending inside. The BEC is a simple no frills Sandwich that is just enough for a light breakfast. The egg is omelet style, which I usually don't care for but it's well cooked, fluffy and doesn't taste out-of-box. Bacon is thick and the pretzel bagel is thick and salty. Iced vanilla latte is smooth and just the right amount of sweet. Soooo good.

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The staff was very welcoming, and the other guests I encountered were friendly and sociable. The drinks were excellent. On my first visit, I had the Hugo Spritz, which was mixed to perfection. During my second visit, I tried the Bitter Lemon Soda, which was also very good--simple, refreshing, and without any overpowering flavors. I actually enjoyed The Bowen House so much that I went twice during my weekend trip to Dallas. It has an almost speakeasy-like atmosphere, with low lighting and a cozy, historic feel. It's also in a very walkable area, which made it easy to visit on foot. There is some parking available, although I would say it's somewhat limited. I don't think it would be the best spot for a very large group, but it would be perfect for a few friends getting together. I also appreciated that you can order a drink while waiting for a table or bar seating, which made the wait feel much more enjoyable. Overall, The Bowen House was one of my favorite places I visited while in Dallas. Between the atmosphere, welcoming service, and well-crafted drinks, it's definitely a place I would return to the next time I'm in town.
