Great to find a coffee shop just a few doors down from the pediatrician's office. I'm sure they've been here for some time but it was a new discovery for me. The place is located alongside a co-working place, or perhaps the shop itself is a co-working space because there was over a dozen folks in working diligently on their laptops. There were also a couple of women here selling items on the day we stopped by. I ordered a steamer for my girl and a chai latte for myself. I also ordered a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was ok, though I don't know if I'd order it again. But it was much more inexpensive than a lot of other places. Service was very friendly and quick. Parking is street only. read more

I don't know why anyone wouldn't give this place 5 stars. This place is an amazing place to get work done. They have free water, and WiFi! The hazelnut croissant was so delicious, the sprite was just crisp! The decorations were amazing. Workers were so kind! I will definitely be coming back here a lot!! read more

An extra hot, dirty chia latte, please. What a cold morning in a fantastic location. The staff were kind when taking my order and when I received it as well. Staff apologized for giving me a paper cup and not a reusable mug for my drink. Size does matttfor this. Overflow Coffee, I love it. The vibe, the atmosphere, and the customer service were everything. I had a egg sandwich on a croissant and it was really good. My friend had the apple spice muffin, and she said she loved it made just right. I wish I remembered the young man's name, but I told him I liked espresso and something sweet, and he made me a coffee that was so good. I was able to sit, do my homework, and just enjoy the space. I love finding cute places like this in the South Loop. I'll definitely be back. read more

This was a very cool vibes spot. I wasn't the biggest fan of my seasonal latte drink (pretty bland), but the coffee shop's decor and seating made up for it. This is definitely a shop where you can comfortably work from home for multiple hours a day; there's even a opportunity to rent out a workspace upstairs with a membership. A coffee shop conveniently located in an area that doesn't have many other options near-by. This came in handy when I had to find a space to take meeting. They have a pretty simple menu with some specialty lattes to choose from. I enjoyed my coffee and would get it again. They also have an assortment of baked goods to choose from. I got a blueberry lemon loaf which was great! Service was great, there were 2 people running the show, but timing was no issue. It wasn't super busy when I went around mid-day. read more

My sweet tooth would like the honey lavender foam to be sweeter but great taste overall. Turkey Club was delicious - perfectly layered and crispy. Next time, I'm going to ask for more turkey. This place really shines in the interior design. It's a large space with different kinds of seating. A great place to chill with friends or to study alone without loud music in the background. In the mood for hot coffee after an appointment at the Rush clinic next door, I decided to pop over to Overflow next door as I have heard good things. As others have pointed out, this spot has good vibes and is a nice WFH spot during the day. The ladies up front were nice but a little confused about the types of quiche being displayed. No biggie, I was excited to try the Metric coffee and walked out, happy with a hot cup in hand and took an enormous sip. To my dismay, the drip coffee was realllly watered down. I could barely taste the rich, smooth coffee that I know & love Metric coffee beans to be. Luckily, the cheddar and broccoli quiche that I also ordered saved the day. The delicate crust and big chunks of veggie were yum. Perhaps this was an off day but it was a bummer to have such lackluster coffee. read more

I cannot stress this enough but I drink a lot of iced coffee. The amount where, yeah maybe I WON'T be able to afford a house. And this cold foam cold brew? is one of the best I've had. So lucky I needed a place to work for a couple hours while on a recent trip to Chicago. The staff were super friendly. The place really busy but had a great office energy on a monday morning. The seating even gave you options to be a little secluded or join others. It wasn't pretentious at all for a place that encourages coworking. The downside of my visit? I live in Charlotte. read more

The interior is really cool--it pays homage to Vee-Jay Records which had its headquarters in the same location. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I had a mocha and breakfast sandwich and really enjoyed both. It was also really cool to see neighborhood families stopping in to grab a bite or drink walking to school. I really like the vibe of this place. The coffee was superb and the staff was friendly. The space itself is cozy and absolutely invites hanging out for a while and enjoying the coffee. Unfortunately for me, I had hoped to pop in and grab a latte for a meeting and I completely underestimated how long it would take to prepare. I was the second in line to order, and it took almost 20 min. to get my beverage. So I ended up being late to my meeting, which is 100% on me, but I did like the coffee very much. I just need to allow for a more relaxed visit next time, which I'm looking forward to! read more

People come here and I think they do work, network, study, etc. They have tablets items and their coffee was a little pricier than what I thought I was gonna pay, but that's okay too. I got a Nutella mocha w: oat milk and I didn't finish it since I just finished a dentist appointment and I shouldn't have ordered coffee, but I did it anyways. Haha' Parking is rough to find, but it's street marking close to downtown, so I do understand. There were options to choose from, but I wish they had more options. People there were nice and patient. What a super cute little coffee shop !!! Lots of indoor seating and tables to sit at, which is nice. I got the gingerbread latte and it was so good. My husband got the vee jay latte which he liked as well. The blueberry and lemon poppyseed muffins were delicious! This gem is in the heart of south loop right off Michigan Ave. The service is spectacular, the lattes are delicious, and the vibes are warm and cozy. This is a perfect spot to meet a friend for coffee, study, and/or get work done. The ambience is low key, not too loud, and super cute. They have dairy alternatives - oat, almond, coconut, and skim. I saw a post about this Black Owned coffee shop that recently opened in the south loop area. Definitely had to check it out since it's not far from my job. The entrance is super cute. They have this mardi gras themed balloon decor on the door. When you walk in, it's massive as crap! Talk about space. Definitely room to sit and chat or type away on your laptop if need be. You can tell it's freshly new in operation. I ordered a small chai tea with oat milk and a chocolate croissant. It's divine and to die for. A must try! The barista who waited on me was super knowledgeable and friendly. First impression - I was kinda bummed I was not greeted when I walked into the place. Granted, it was kinda busy but still. I walked around for a hot sec looking for a menu. I had to ask where the menu is located which is on a sheet of paper at the moment. I recommend they get a board for everyone to see upon walking in. Social distancing isn't enforced and no hand sanitizer was offered or present to my knowledge. Pricing - could be better. I paid $10.25 for a 4oz cup of tea (a tad larger than the cup used to rinse your mouth with at the dentist) and a chocolate croissant. I get it. It's known for coffee; buuuuuut the cups should still be larger. Will I return? Yes I will. I definitely favor supporting black owner businesses. read more

We popped into Overflow for a cup after a trip to Shedd Aquarium. I really like the mellow vibes here. There's plenty of space, and it felt quieter than some other coffee shops. We ordered a cappuccino and a white chocolate raspberry mocha. The mocha was slightly pricey, but the cappuccino was in line with most coffee shops. The capp was pretty good. I noticed that their foam had a lighter, airer consistency. The espresso had a very slight tartness to it (not sure of the origin of the beans), but nothing objectionable. My wife liked the mocha for the most part, except she felt the raspberry flavoring was a little too artificial. They did have some other fun seasonal coffees, like snickerdoodle. They also have teas and various food items, but some of the food items like quiche may already be sold out by the time you get there. All in all, not a bad place to stop for a cup if you're in the area. read more
