We needed to redesign our old pool with a handicapped-accessible pool. Working with Overflow Pools, their subcontractors, and architects, I was able to design our pool to my specifications under their guidance. Dane, the owner of the company, was easy to work with and upfront about the cost, payments, and carefully explained the entire procedure. He stuck to every word in our contract with no surprise costs or variations. The work they performed seemed like only a little less than building a new pool from scratch! Each phase was a major construction job; I counted 10 workers who were in my backyard at one time! During the demolition of the interior of our old pool, the backyard was a mess with concrete chips, dust, dirt, and rocks all over the place. When their crew left after a day and a half of hard work, they left our backyard immaculate! I wound up with a dream of a swimming pool and have no complaints about their workmanship. In the end, they did an outstanding job, cleaned up our whole backyard, and filled the pool with water and starting chemicals. I'm happy to leave a positive review. My story is that I hired a well know landscape architect to design my backyard. He came up with a nice design and was suppose to bid and arrange for all the work to be done. For various reason, I parted ways with him. But he had put me in contact with Dane, his custom pool contractor. Well, Dane gave me a bid for the pool and said he could also do all the non pool items involved in my backyard project (BBQ, fire-pit, travertine pavers, drain line, ramada, gate, trellises, steel architectural panels, stucco/paint cinder block fence, low voltage lighting and even landscaping). I was a little nervous about getting involved with all this because I had bought into the idea of my landscape architect handling and coordinating all the trades. In hindsight, it really was not that big a deal to get more involved in the project than I originally expected. In fact, I think the project turned out better doing so. Dane did an amazing job with the pool and all portions of the project he ended up working. He had numerous contacts in the trades and was helpful in having me sub out parts of the project I choose to involve myself. For example, he was getting exorbitant quotes for steel to construct my ramada. He was happy to let me find a vendor to construct it out of extruded aluminum. He worked with me and them on the specs and to get it positioned and wired properly. And he didn't nickle and dime me to death by charging for this and other things. The project, once Dane got involved, took about a year. It was a long year as certain things took seemingly forever to get done. But this really was beyond his control. At the time of my project, there was more demand than supply of many materials. I waited about two months, after excavation, for shotcrete and then three months for Pebble Sheen. I suspect Dane could have gotten things done quicker if he went with subcontractors he didn't regularly use; but that quality of workmanship would have suffered. Various people more knowledgeable about construction than me, who saw Dane's work at different stages, were impressed. Including the city inspector. She said the shotcrete work was some of the best she had ever seen. Of course, there were some mistakes and miscommunications during the project. But Dane made everything right even when it involved a mistake not of his doing. I can't stress how ethical Dane was. I saw certain subcontractors try to blame others for their mistakes and outright lie to me. Dane never lied, was always upfront about costs and expectations, helped me co-ordinate parts of the project I chose to get involved and went beyond expectations in making things right. We had Overflow Pool Construction & Repair remove our old vinyl-lined pool, piping and equipment (and landscaping), replace it with a completely redesigned PebbleSheen pool and beautiful travertine pavers in place of decking around the pool area. It is all just beautiful. We also had both an integrated spa and an outdoor sound system included with the new pool. The owner, Dane Palmero, was wonderful to work with while receiving multiple estimates for the project and was the only truly professional contractor to spend enough time to fully discuss details of what we wanted - none of the other contractors we interviewed did that. A couple of them were literally in and out in about 10-15 minutes, but Dane was with us for about an hour during the initial consultation. His desire to understand exactly what we thought we wanted was the deciding factor. Their pricing wasn't the lowest or the highest, but fell in the middle of the pack. As the design phase evolved Dane shared his concerns with certain features that we thought we wanted, and came up with better alternatives. He would suggest alternatives when necessary, and gladly provided us with new drawings during our changes. Every single one of his crew, including the project manager, was top notch. Matt, the supervisor of all on-site work for the project was a joy to work with. He always explained each step before it was begun and we literally looked forward to interacting with him each day. Matt has patiently answered all our questions and provided thoughtful advice, even well after the completion of the project. There was something going on every day during the project, except when we had rain delays. The project was begun in the fall of 2022 (which was an unusually wet season), but as soon as the ground dried up sufficiently, they were back at it. Construction was completed and the pool/spa was filled with water on May 15, in time for swim season. Once the project was completed, a separate company came in to landscape the yard and install lighting. Overflow had included all the trenching, conduit, wiring and plumbing necessary for the landscape company as part of their construction process. We very highly recommend Dane Palmero and Overflow Pool and would proudly retain them again for any projects in the future. read more

This company gets an A++ from us. After having another pool company walk off the job a day before they were supposed to start, Dane with Overflow came by and took the job when three other companies wouldn't. The scope was to replace all the pool plumbing, install all new equipment and lighting and move the spa to the other end of the pool. Dane's pricing was fair and gave us options for pool design that we didn't think of. Although we were up against working with my GC, staff shortages at the steel and concrete suppliers, Stephanie always kept me in the loop if there was schedule delays which in todays environment is all I could hope for. We were even bumped ahead on some scheduling which I have to assume is do to Dane's professional relationship with his vendors. I met two other members of their staff, both so friendly and professional. They all took the time to answer any and all the questions I had. And the pool? Absolutely gorgeous!
