My husband I celebrated 4th of July Sunday at the Owl & Dove. The restaurant is close to town and offers plenty of municipal and street parking. The food was exceptional!! I dined on Seacoast Mushroom Toast, Crunchy Fish Sando (best ever), Burnt Orange Brulee (my favorite dessert in any flavor). Started with an orange Mimosa and ended with robust coffee in an adorable mug that sells out. 5 stars***** across the board. Cheers to Johnson & Wales, Culinary program:) The chef is prepared to impress.

I love this place. Food and service is always amazing. The menu has something for everyone. I especially enjoy going here for Sunday brunch.

Discovered this place on a trip to Westerly and had a fantastic meal. Located right on the rover, it has a bistro feel and impeccable service. We went for brunch and had an omelet, corned beef hash and the fish sandwich. All were fresh, delicious and the perfect portion size. Highly recommend the beignets for dessert as well.

After playing off-season tourists in Westerly (blissfully emptied of the summer crowds!), we were ready for a relaxing lunch on this beautiful autumn day. We found it in Owl & Dove, welcomed and seated by a lovely hostess by a sunny window overlooking the Pawtucket River. The service is kind and friendly, the dining room ambience charming and warm. The food was terrific - I had a crispy fried fish sandwich that was super fresh haddock in a polenta crust with homemade tartar sauce and greens - plus some really excellent fries. My wife had their orzo salad which she said was excellent along with a filet of the same polenta encrusted fish. We plan to return and try their other dishes and appetizers which sounded very good.

This is an adorable spot with a beautiful view. I've eaten here twice. The first time, I had the fish and chips, an appetizer special of chicken gyoza, and the sourdough Ben-yays. The food was hot, delicious, and service was excellent. The second time, I brought my mom. I enjoyed my best burrito and she thought her seasonal pasta dish was pretty good. I got the bread pudding for dessert and it was supposed to have dulce de leche ice cream but it had lemon. My mom's apple crisp was a let down. The apples weren't cooked down enough to have that yummy gooey pie filling consistency. They were more crunchy. The ice cream was tasty (it came with lemon ice cream). Service was friendly and our water was constantly being refilled. This is a great spot to check out and I want to go back for brunch.

What a cute place in Westery on the river. Service was wonderful. She was attentive and knew the menu. The whole menu was interesting so I had wasn't sure what to order. I had the frittata with soupy. Absolutely delicious! Yes, the food is freshly prepared so it takes a bit. I would rather have it that way. Beautiful location on the river. Definitely worth the stop that was so close by.

We had a great lunch here! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious -- we tried the fish sandwich and the soupy frittata, and both were full of flavor and perfectly prepared. Definitely a spot worth returning to! We had a table next to the river which was lovely!

Food was exceptional, creative & fresh! Service & ambiance matched. My sisters, mom and I had to go twice in our few days in the area. Highly recommend! And, their tiny stickers are adorable!

We came here based on its location, near our bnb, and we had been driving ALL day from VA, but we couldn't have found a lovelier place to relax and enjoy good wine, delicious food, and caring service. They were very much slammed on a sunny summer Friday night but you would not know it by the calm, attentive service from the moment we walked in. The location is amazing - see the river photo. We hope to be back!

We arrived to Connecticut and were please to find a late reservation. The restaurant was dimly lit with romantic lighting and the walls were decorated with local art. Everything seemed very natural from the fresh cut flowers to the menu options. Prices were very reasonable. The flavor of the food was fresh, but well seasoned. Great bread with delicious olive oil. Excellent beet salad. Ramen has a vinegar like taste, but was very comforting on a cool day.

Solid classics done right! This cozy cafe has a fairly wide selection of comfortable but updated dishes that just warms the heart and stomach. The location can't be beat either with a great view looking over the river. Service is very attentive and welcoming to families, which is a definite plus. I'm looking forward to future meals here!

Obsessed with this restaurant. Impeccable customer service. They are very personable. Incredible food, fresh ingredients, fresh ideas. Ambience is cozy and wistful. Magical whimsy some would say. Would eat here every day if I could.

We started in the lounge and ordered a couple of martinis. It took about five minutes before the bartender really acknowledged us, and it seemed like there was only one bartender trying to take care of the entire restaurant. When my martini finally arrived, it was noticeably under-poured--about an inch below the top of the glass. That wasn't a great first impression, but I decided to give the restaurant a chance. I ordered the miso salmon but asked if the black rice could be substituted. I was told, rather emphatically, that the person in the kitchen is not a cook but a chef, and that the chef's dishes are "exquisite" and are what they are. I understand having a chef's vision and wanting to preserve the integrity of a dish, but I was surprised that they wouldn't make a simple substitution. I was told that the only way to change anything was to order another item from the menu, at an additional charge. That approach just didn't sit well with me. At most of the restaurants I frequent, especially at this price point, there is usually some willingness to accommodate a reasonable request. It also struck me as unusual that a chef wouldn't be willing to make a minor adjustment to a dish. At that point, I decided to order a small appetizer, finish my half-poured martini, and try my luck somewhere else. Fortunately, the night was saved by a visit to an Italian restaurant up the road. What a difference! The experience was fantastic. They were happy to tweak a pasta dish for me and even added anchovies, which were absolutely outstanding. The guys are from Italy, and the food and hospitality reflected that. I have no doubt that the chef at Ella's is talented and that there are people who really enjoy the restaurant. I went there because I had heard some very good things, but I had also heard some negative reviews and wanted to see for myself. Unfortunately, my experience confirmed some of those concerns. For me, a great restaurant is about more than the food. It's the combination of food, service, hospitality, and the willingness to make a guest feel welcome. Ella's missed the mark for me on this visit. The Italian on the other hand, turned what started as a disappointing evening into a great one.

While the hotel offers several dining possibilities, there is no question in my mind that Coast is their culinary chef d'oeuvre. My dining partner and I found their New England-inspired cuisine to be not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious. Throw in an award-winning wine list, friendly & personable service, picturesque view of the Atlantic Ocean, and a most satisfying evening at table awaits. Be advised, however... What also awaits is a pretty hefty hit on your pocketbook, as our five-course prix-fixe Degustation Menu - with several choices included - was priced at $145.00 per person, plus beverages, tax & gratuity (there is also a similarly priced vegetarian menu). If you want to add the Reserve Wine Pairing, which I did, that will cost you an additional $125.00 per person (Grand Wine Pairing an additional $250.00 per person). Definitely not what you would call a cheap date. That being said, however, in my opinion - and that of my companion as well - dinner here is well worth the expenditure. Our first course was the Ninigret Pond Oyster "Pan Roast." Sourced from a local coastal lagoon that is linked to the Atlantic Ocean and Block Island Sound, Ninigret Pond is home to several reliable oyster purveyors. I must confess that I have never been an enthusiastic fan of bivalves in general - and raw oysters in particular. However, the pan-roasted representatives sampled here, smooth & buttery with a touch of sweetness and sprinkled with Royal Belgian Osetra Caviar, were quite good indeed. And the Ruinart Singulier 18th Edition, Blanc de Blancs, Brut Nature, Champagne, (France), proved to be the perfect libationary accompaniment. But even better was the outrageously delicious Bluefin Tuna Tartare. I have tasted this dish on numerous occasions; however, this particular incarnation was in a class all by itself. Gently caressed by avocado and kissed by golden kiwi and a beguiling carrot ginger reduction, the result was a presentation that was pleasing to both eye and palate, and a highlight of our evening. The 2019 Tegernseerhof Loibenberg Riesling Smaragd Wachau (Austria), of course, added immensely to the enjoyment. The next course presented us with a rather interesting conundrum... the choice between two equally appetizing possibilities. My dining companion, of course, went immediately for the Seared Scallops & Foie Gras. I, on the other hand, decided to side entirely with the carnivores... Kuro Farms Wagyu Strip Loin. Companioned by short rib, confit carrot, and Sicilian pistachios, this was a winner all the way... as was the wine selection, the 2020 Aslina "Umsasane," an enticing blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from Stellenbosch, South Africa. The dessert course was especially noteworthy, a Blackberry Sudachi Entremet aided and abetted by white chocolate mousse, lavender, and raw honey sponge. A rather unusual denouement, I must admit, but a lovely presentation and irresistibly scrumptious. And, once again, the wine selection - 2018 Domaine Huet Le Mont Moelleux, a Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Touraine, in France's Loire Valley - was right on the money. The Bottom Line: An exceptionally fine dining experience. Pricey, to be sure... but, in my opinion, worth every penny. A restaurant to which my dining companion and I would gladly return. Highly recommended on all counts.

Coast Fails. Coast…read moreno longer is the exquisite dining experience we have enjoyed for many years. It is now overpriced, forced, and mediocre. We started by selecting the 7 course ($245 pp) menu which promised to be a culinary delight chosen by the chef. The first 3 courses were from the cold appetizer menu - they were served all at once (rushed), and had a vinegary, distasteful flavor. We then had 2 courses from the hot appetizer menu - one was 2 small potato buttons (again, with a vinegary flavor) and the other, a piece of very good lobster (served separately which was better). We then had 1 item from the entree menu (wagyu beef) - small, fatty but flavorful, and virtually no sauce and 2 Barbie-size asparagus heads. The dessert was a flavorless jelled chocolate ring - with a dab of forgettable ice cream. We have always been delighted with the extraordinary surprises from the kitchen - this time, it was a total disappointment in every way - presentation, flavor, and portion size. The servers were confused (failing to bring cocktails & wine on time). The bread was the best part but don't ask for more (it's rationed 2 per person)! Their once fun "per dish" wine pairing is reduced to "per course" and not worth it (3 glasses). Additionally, the room location has changed. No longer do you have the refined and ocean-forward experience, now only some guests MAY see some water. Our table was adjacent to their other restaurant, with a curtain separating us and the noise level was not acceptable (we even had difficulty understanding our servers). There was virtually no recognition of a birthday celebration at our table (there's always been something "special" for the guest of honor). The little confections for all were a nice touch, but lackluster. For 5 of us (7 courses each, total of 4 cocktails, and tip) it was $1800.00. We left sad, disenchanted, and hungry (not like the old Coast). We won't be back unfortunately, and don't recommend it to anyone - many better options.
