I need to share an experience I have recently had so everyone is aware to not rely on the honesty of a Carfax or dealer. I am extremely disappointed in my experience with BMW of Camarillo regarding the purchase of my 2017 Acura MDX. When I purchased the vehicle, the Carfax showed no accident history. Had there been any indication the vehicle had previously sustained damage, I never would have pursued the purchase and I certainly would not have paid the amount I did for the vehicle. I only discovered the issue a couple of weeks ago while attempting to install a rear cargo basket. In the process, I had to get down low behind the vehicle and look forward underneath the rear bumper area. That is when I noticed the driver-side exhaust had clearly been pushed inward 4-5 inches, strongly suggesting previous rear-end damage or impact. This is not something visible during normal day-to-day use unless you are specifically underneath the vehicle looking in that direction. What is most disappointing is not just the issue itself, but the lack of transparency afterward. A dealership taking a vehicle in on trade and reselling it should perform a thorough inspection. Even if the damage did not appear on Carfax, something like this should have been identified and disclosed before the vehicle was advertised and sold. It was not. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted the dealership hoping they would at least acknowledge the concern and attempt to work toward a reasonable resolution. Instead, they refused to do anything.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I never imagined I would have to second-guess the honesty and transparency of a dealership regarding whether a vehicle was truly in the condition represented by the Carfax and the sales process. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Moving forward, this is clearly something I will now have to investigate much more carefully anytime I purchase another vehicle. Integrity and transparency matter when customers are making major financial decisions. Unfortunately, my experience with BMW of Camarillo left me feeling misled and unsupported once the sale was completed.

    $3,383 Total - $2,086 for 7 hours labor @ $298/hour and $1,118 for starter motor

Had starter replaced on my 328i BMW last week at BMW of Camarillo. The total cost was $3,383, including $2,086 in labor at $298/hour and $1,118 for the starter motor, plus additional charges for gaskets and hardware (invoice attached). Typical pricing for this repair? Read comments on reddit BmwTech from BMW technical support. Yelp 96 one-star reviews - read them. UPDATE 4/26/2026 - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Discussed with GM Travis. He stated adamantly that it does take them 7 HOURS OF LABOR (at $298/hour) to install a new starter (BMW research shows average labor time for starter replacement is 2.5 - 3.5 hours) and that all their prices are now 30% higher than when the dealership was Steve Thomas BMW for approx. 31 yrs. (purchased by Ken Garff Auto Group Apr[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]il 2024), and that there was absolutely nothing he could do for an invoice labor charge adjustment for 7 HOURS to do the job.

After having my brakes serviced at BMW of Camarillo, I experienced a brake fluid leak that caused me to lose braking power while driving on the freeway -- a terrifying and potentially fatal situation. Upon inspection, BMW of Camarillo admitted fault for the issue and "repaired" the leak. While I appreciate that the problem was eventually addressed, they have refused to provide a full refund for the original service that almost cost me my life. A brake service error this severe should never happen -- and when it does, the bare minimum should be taking full financial responsibility. This isn't just about a refund -- it's about safety, accountability, and trust. As a long-time BMW owner, I expected more. I trusted a certified dealership to keep my vehicle safe. Instead, I walked away with a near-death experience and a partial bill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Disappointed is an understatement.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Freddy, JC, and Amauri were excellent. As a first time buyer I had lots of apprehension and questions, but they answered them with care and kindness. I felt welcomed and considered! Plus, they set me up with some incredible deals and were very willing to accommodate where they could. Mazda is a great car and their company hires incredible people. Thank you Oxnard Mazda!

I went to Oxnard Mazda after receiving a promotional email offering a free oil change. I scheduled…read morethe appointment for a Saturday expecting to have a simple oil change completed. After waiting for over two hours, Adrian came out and told me there was a problem. He explained that while they were attempting to perform the oil change, the oil panel had broken. He told me that the cap was metal and the panel was plastic, and that this was something that could happen with newer Nissan Rogues. However, I was also told that Mazda was not responsible because whoever performed the previous oil change before I owned the vehicle allegedly did it incorrectly, which caused the panel to break while Mazda was servicing my vehicle. Since it was the weekend and there was no manager available, I was told they would provide me with a loaner vehicle at no charge and that someone would contact me Monday to figure out how to move forward. On Monday, Adrian contacted me and told me the repair would cost almost $1,000. I was given two options: either use my extended warranty and pay a $400 deductible, or have CarMax cover the repair, but I would have to pay the entire amount upfront and wait for CarMax to send me a reimbursement check. I explained to Adrian that I could not afford that. I came in for a free oil change and was not expecting an unexpected repair bill of nearly $1,000. I told him clearly that I did not have the money to pay for this repair, especially with rent and other expenses coming up as a single mom. Adrian then suggested that I apply for an app called Sunbit and told me that I would not have to pay anything upfront. I followed his instructions and applied. I was approved, but Sunbit still required me to put down almost $300. I called Adrian back and again explained that I did not have any money available to put toward the repair. Despite me repeatedly explaining that I could not afford this repair, the work continued. I never authorized paying nearly $1,000 for this repair. The only service I originally approved was the oil change. When I returned Tuesday to discuss my options and try to get my vehicle back, I spoke with a manager named Chase. Unfortunately, I felt that he was dismissive and unwilling to work with me or hear my concerns. I explained that CarMax had confirmed I was still covered under warranty and that if the vehicle had gone through CarMax's process, they would have covered the repair and I would not have had to pay anything upfront. Another thing that was extremely concerning was the change in the repair price. On Monday, I was told the repair would cost almost $1,000. However, when I came in on Tuesday, the total had somehow changed to $715. No one clearly explained why the price changed so drastically for what I understood to be the same repair. Being quoted one amount and then seeing a significantly different amount the next day left me questioning how the original estimate was calculated. I was told that Mazda would not release my vehicle until payment was made and that I needed to return the loaner vehicle. I was also told that keeping the loaner could result in a $75 per day charge. This entire experience was extremely stressful and frustrating. I came in for a promotional free oil change and ended up dealing with a situation where I felt pressured to find a way to pay for a repair I was not expecting and repeatedly explained I could not afford. Thankfully, I was able to borrow money from someone so I could get my vehicle back, but no customer should have to go through this after coming in for routine maintenance. Between the lack of communication, the changing repair estimates, and the way this situation was handled, this was one of the most disappointing dealership experiences I have ever had. I will not be returning to Oxnard Mazda, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this location to others.

This will be a review of the dealership itself as we went to purchase a vehicle. We drove in without a salesman knowing we were coming or setting an appointment. We were greeted by someone and asked if we needed help and we're quickly set up with somebody to work with all of the employees we can't encountered. We're fine not super friendly though. It was hard to get anyone to smile back at you, meaning it didn't feel very welcoming. Once we sat down and discussed what exactly we were looking for the comparables we found at other dealerships, etc., and they realize that we were very serious about purchasing a car. Our salesman started to relax a little bit, warm up and be a little more friendly. Wood, that being said after we officially said yes to a car and went to sign our lives away, that gentleman we were dealing with was very friendly, very cheerful and very welcoming. The dealership itself was very spacious and clean and organized. They had a variety of vehicles to look at, and choose from. None of the salesman were pushy or overbearing, which is extremely refreshing and appreciated, just wish they were a little more welcoming and friendly when you walk in. We had a very smooth process of purchasing a vehicle and if we were ever in the market for another Ford, we would definitely come back again

Took it into this service department to fix it, and they hastily cleaned the sunroof drain lines and claimed it was fixed. Now that the warranty is expired, it's still leaking every time it rains. Turns out its not the sunroof drain lines, exactly like I predicted. I asked them to do right by me and fix the issue since I brought in my car under warranty to fix this. They said the sunroof drain lines are squeaky clean so that's not the issue (I know that), and I'm going to have to "authorize the expenditure" to "tear the vehicle apart" to find the issue. Suddenly this is my expense to bear, and they want to be extra thorough now that its not under warranty. This is after swearing up and down to me that they fixed my leaky vehicle before. By the way, the dealership was PACKED with other Fords that leaked after the rain, including a friend of ours. I asked to speak with a manager and my service advisor said he can't find the manager anywhere. What a nightmare. I'm super disappointed in this experience. If they make it right I'll update this review. Otherwise please avoid this dealership. And be warned: F150's leak water when it rains. Just Google it. Over a century of automobile manufacturing and Ford hasn't figured out how to keep water out yet.
